I've been coming here since it was originally named Alberto's...The outside seating has not changed. It's still the same round table bench with the red umbrella. Service is the same, they're pretty quick at getting your food prepped. Now I said that their carne asada has always been reliable, but my last two times I've ordered a carne asada burrito (sour cream and cheese only) or a CA burrito, IYKYK, their meat has tasted different. It taste like it's some carne asada and then like some other mystery meat, sometimes liver... Either way I stop eating it when I have tasted it being weird. Maybe it's the other meats they serve that get mixed in. I don't dig that. So for that I would rate them down to a 3 star. I'm rating their 3 rolled tacos as 4 stars! It's the best around. It has the crunch and enough meat inside. It's not all tortilla like some places. We always order it with sour cream and cheese only, with carrots on the side. For takeout, check your bags please I understand they are busy & doing their best to ensure that your order is right. However, this is the 2nd time we've had a missing item from our takeout. We moved away, but grew up with Albertaco's and we LOVE IT. Carne asada fries, chicken quesadilla, cali burrito, their red salsa, chef's kiss. Last year May 2025, we drove and did takeout for our brothers birthday. We ordered 2 carne asada fries, and they only gave us 1 (our order was big). Yesterday, May 17,2026, I drove out here again for my brother's birthday request to do takeout for our entire family. Ordered 2 orders of their rolled tacos, finally got home to see that we only received 1 order of the rolled tacos, not 2 (we also ordered more things). Yes, you'd obviously like for everything that you paid for to be handed to you, but a lesson learned to check your bags!!! If something is missing, kindly let them know and receive everything you paid for. We were at the Cypress Home Depot and we were craving breakfast burritos and the little food shack at HD sells their breakfast burritos for $15.99. I've never tried it so I don't know how good it is or if it's even worth it. Anyhow, Albertaco's is right at the corner. Bacon breakfast burritos for under $9.00 is the norm. It filled me up. They use French fries instead of potatoes cooked on the flat top or what we got at least were fries. I don't know if I can specify. It did the job and got my morning breakfast burrito cravings fixed. Don't recommend. I used to come here fairly often for the Carne Asada Fries and out of nostalgia. I will say, the portion size for the fires is huge and feeds 2-3 people. They are also quick with order preparation. I stopped coming here when I slowly started to realize the quality of the food. The food is cold and the meat doesn't taste the freshest. Wow, Albertacos is not what it used to be, and I wish that was a good thing. This used to be THE place to get some late-night grub, but especially the california burritos, carne asada fries, taquitos ("rolled tacos"), etc. Not anymore. I ordered my usual order of taquitos. They come topped with lots of cheese and so hot and oily from the fryer that they melt the Styrofoam container a little bit. Anyway, I rolled up to the window to pay and get my food after ordering. When the cashier opened the window, I didn't smell any food smells; it smelled somewhat like sewage. Still, I paid and took my food, but thinking about that smell made me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen and I couldn't find the appetite to eat it. Not too long ago there was a health inspection with something like 11 violations. More recent inspections seem to be fine, but that many violations didn't help anything. Sorry to say my former favorite spot is no more. read more

This is NOT the goat that everyone used to love and praise. I've been going to this spot for many years and it's sad to see how far off it's been from what it used to be. The food used to be the best in the area and nothing could come close. Nowadays it's not as good and it's actually really disappointing. The fries came out looking like things were just thrown together. The flavors were just not there like it used to be. The crispiness is gone too - maybe just soaked? The horchata used to be some of the best I've had. Nowadays it's been consistently disappointing. Every time I order it I'm hoping it'll be good like it used to be, only to find that it's very watered down and just not good anymore. During my most recent visit I ordered a side of flour tortillas to make my fries into burritos but also to give to my niece and nephew who love tortillas. When I got home I come to realize that they gave me a side of corn tortillas instead - how disappointing! The service is still pretty consistent. Not great but not terrible. You're ordering at a window or a call box so you can't expect a lot. There's only outdoor seating here so the ambiance is really up to you and the weather. Parking can be tricky if it's busy, otherwise you'd have to park at a nearby plaza or business. Overall, I can't say I'd recommend this place like I used to. It just doesn't hit the same anymore. The flavors, consistency and value just aren't there anymore. But if you're feeling the munchies late night and just want a quick fix then I guess it's still good for that. I ordered the beef taco and beef taquitos, and both hit the spot. The beef taco came loaded with lettuce and cheese, and the shell was perfectly cooked--not greasy, not soggy. The beef was nicely seasoned, and the hot sauce served on the side paired with it perfectly, adding just the right amount of kick. The beef taquitos were also very good--crispy, filled generously, topped with plenty of melted cheese, and finished with a guacamole sauce that was especially tasty. The rice and beans were average, nothing bad, just not standout--but everything else more than made up for it. All in all, a very solid experience, especially for a first visit. Super disappointed... tried something new and shouldn't have. I ordered a chimichanga (fried burrito) comes with rice and beans no mention of it being drowned in sauce. Opened up my container to find my burrito floating in sauce no rice or beans. They did add sour cream and guacamole to the plate but why would I want a fried burrito drowned in sauce? Also wheres the rice and beans. Price also listed around 8$ and I was charged 13? Pulled my burrito out of the sauce swimming pool and literally my sour cream was floating lol pic below.... soggy burrito for 13$ is crazy when I can go to Don Ruben down the street for half the price and know it'll be good with friendly service. I come here for convenience and because we know what we are getting here. We eat this because we know exactly what to expect from it.
