The boil arrived on a stainless steel platter in a large plastic bag, ballooned out with steam. We had chosen the butter, medium spicy. Tonight we went to dinner at Aloha Krab in Walden Galleria. Well, it was amazing, to say the least. We were greeted by a very friendly, attentive host. I am so sorry I didn't get her name. But, she was great. Then it was our server's turn. Our server, Jenni was amazing. She was on point with her service, attentiveness and customer service skills. She was very attentive and understanding with my food allergy and made sure the kitchen knew about it, as well. Thank you Jenni for being so wonderful. She even helped us out with our "doggie bags" and getting my son the t-shirt he wanted. All our food was fantastic, cooked to perfection and my family enjoyed the whole experience. And, remember my food allergy I mentioned, the kitchen made sure that my allergy to a certain ingredient was respected with great care. Thank you to the chef. Another thank you goes to the manager, Louis, who came to our table and greeted my family like old friends, even though this was our first visit to the restaurant. It's a wonderful atmosphere, great food and exceptional customer service. The prices are reasonable, considering it is a seafood restaurant also. I should know. I work in the restaurant industry too. Hi! I had a great meal here last week! The food was excellent (best shrimp ever!) and the service was great. It's a really different dining experience - where it's fun to get messy (bibs and gloves provided if wanted). My friend and I got two different combo "bags". She's from New Orleans and loved the crawfish, crab legs, sausage, potatoes, and boiled eggs! I went back yesterday to get some gift cards as Thanksgiving gifts and look forward to going back there with "my work daughters". I am telling EVERYONE who is part of the Knight of Columbus and associated with my Church programs and everyone at my grandkids school, Maryvale Middle School to avoid Aloha Krap like the plague. I dined in with my husband Jerry for our 40th marriage anniversary, and our waitress, some woman named Miana who had 0 service skills, no manners, a rude mouth, and terrible people skills gave us lip for asking to have the food cooked a little longer, and for asking about dietary restrictions as my husband has high blood pressure and she had no knowledge about the salt or calcium content in the seafood and she gave an attitude for being concerned. The best meal of the night was by far the prime rib sliders which were tender/juicy and very flavorful. But sadly overall this place felt dirty with many tables full of dirty dishes just sitting on them the entire time we were there. As a big fan of Prime Rib, I ordered the large cut and it was super tender and flavorful. With access to an outside patio, plus delightful weather, it was an incredible evening.

I was out at Perla on a Wednesday recently to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday with a group of friends. We had a great time and our server was such a sweet guy. The Woodfire pizzas are very good if you're not into seafood. Those you have to order from the regular menu. The menu is too limited for the happy hour. I knocked off one star because of this. There's usually a live band during this time, but we did not have one on the Wednesday that we attended unfortunately. I would definitely come back for the oysters!

While reviewing the happy hours specials I noticed "bottled and draft beers: $5.95". Not the greatest deal but went with it. I then proceeded to order 2 Corona Extras. We enjoy ourselves, finish our drinks, and now it's bill time. After reviewing the bill we notice that my Coronas were charged at $8.95 each. We bring this up to the bartender and are told "that's only for domestics"; not anywhere on the menu is this stated (don't worry I double checked). We ask if this is an error in our favor to which the magic happens. We must have said the magic words to this dirty blond bartender because that's when the tantrum happens. She then proceeds to reach into her tip jar and throw a single dollar bill and four quarters in front of us (technically still owed us $4). I've never seen such blatant disrespect and utter lack of candor or customer service. There's 100s of different ways to handle that situation if she disagreed with our thought on the bill and her reaction was literally the worst one. I had all intentions of coming back because we thoroughly enjoyed our time until literally the last minute. Obviously, we will not be back and I will share this experience with anyone that asks me about this place Take my experience for what it is and be mindful of the service (or for the love of God don't try and call them out on their specials!). Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow, and I'm not sure if the issue was with the servers, the kitchen, or just the way the service was organized. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted. One server took our drink order, and then a different server came over to take our food order. Shortly after we ordered, a couple sat down next to us. They placed their order, received both their appetizers and entrees, finished eating, paid their bill, and left before our dinners even arrived. Another server eventually noticed we were still waiting, and, conveniently, our food came out about five minutes later. The long wait was frustrating and seemed unnecessary. That said, once our food finally arrived, it was absolutely delicious, and I was really happy with the meal. If the service were more efficient, this would have been a much better experience.
