We have been going to this restaurant for 30 years.It was always my dad's favorite. We went in today and had the worst service of my life. The silverware and table were dirty. The food was cold. I asked for both things to be fixed and the server was extremely rude and abrupt as she removed items from our table. She watered all of the tables around us and did not come to ours. I was overcharged for something I ordered off the lunch menu. The server argued with me that I did not specify that I wanted the lunch portion. She did fix the mistake but threw the bill on table when she returned. As we were leaving I crossed out the tip line on the credit card receipt. She began to berate me in front of the busy dining room to tell me how rude I was and that she didn't want my tip. I really do not know how I offended her but only wanted to have lunch. let me just start by saying I use to LOVE this restaurant as a child. I would come all the time with my family and receive free chicken wings and a coke immediately after being sat in the dining room. the service USE to be top notch. unfortunately my opinion has changed ALOT. I have been here twice (as an adult) and had the Worst Experience ever! I have never felt more uncomfortable and unwelcomed in a bar. we had a large group of people and racked up a very large bill and was treated like absolute dirt. the manager (could have been owner) was pushing our group around because we decided we wanted to stand instead of sit. when I say "Pushing" I mean literally PUSHED one of us. seems like if your not a "regular" at the bar then they just don't give a crap about you or your service. every time someone wanted a drink it was seemed like a inconvenience for them to serve us. the food wasn't awesome but wasn't awful. the place is dirty. so needless to say... they will never get my business again. read more

First off I found the greeter extremely unprofessional I found that the servers almost didn't want to serve I found that the menu was very poor and that the food came out cold and the chicken was barely cooked enough to eat I grew up eating from. Staff were very friendly, willing to take on a large group of people and that's where it ended. Found out that one of the cooks had gone home so there was only one cook for the restaurant (understandable for a weeknight) but not so good for a large group. My husband got food poisoning. So probably wont go there again. read more

Had dinner last night at the Aloha. The spareribs were disgusting and has big globs of white fat in most of the ribs. My wife cut the fat off two of the ribs and then gave up. She was sick all night. We will NEVER return to the Aloha in Manchester NH. read more

This was by far the WORST experience I've had out to eat at a restaurant. I'm a server myself and I was simply applaud by the servers behavior and management, I would swear the two were related and I'm not saying that as a joke. My mother and I had some business to attend to in Manchester right next door to the shopping plaza that Aloha is located in. My 5 month old son was with us. When we walked in it wasn't a welcoming feeling at all, my mother and I kind of just looked at each order like hmmmm what are we getting ourselves into, and boy was our intuition RIGHT! We ordered many appetizers and lo mein. The food was so cold and the meat was extremely tough. My mother and I actually gave our whole meal to some other guests to take home. The server never came back except once and that was after we've been sitting there for the whole meal with untouched food even our soups weren't untouched . As a waitress myself I would have immediately realized that Gee these two customers haven't touched any of their food , what seems to be the problem?!! No after the horrible waitress came back we told her that we needed boxes so we could give our food to the other table that was next to us. They said they had teenagers that would definitely eat it, so that was better then my mother and I throwing all that food out. Anyways after we showed the waitress that we ate nothing she just went and got boxes for the other table to take our food and she didn't even apologize. Not one I'm sorry, she never even smiled at my extremely cute 5 month old son that was smiling at her. And this wasn't an Asian woman that maybe didn't understand our frustration and anger, she was 100% American and understood everything that was going on. When she brought the check she didn't even give us a discount or ANYTHING! WE GAVE OUR FOOD TO ANOTHER TABLE, ARE U KIDDING ME!!! So we asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over with the same pissy looking face and literally insinuated that everything that we were saying was a lie. She said the server told her that she did check in on us when she 100% didn't. The manager didn't even apologize either, she was awful. Words can't even describe the service we got from both the server and manager. If that was myself at my job I'd be fired in a heartbeat. So the manager gave us an attitude, called us liars and even though we gave our entire meal to the other table and the table even said "yes we took their entire meal", the manager still wouldn't give us a discount or anything. I truly wish I had a video of this encounter, so people would see how awful this truly was so people would think twice before going or returning to this horrible dive of a place! Out of all my years of going out and being a server myself it was by far the worst experience I've ever had!! My son and I went here after work last Tuesday for a drink and sat in the bar area. My son ordered a Blue Hawaiian and I ordered a Mai Tai, two classic drinks served at Chinese establishments. My sons drink had a paper napkin INSIDE his drink!!! WTF! How do you not notice that when making a drink! I thought it was a flower at first. GROSS, GROSS GROSS! My drink was brown in color and had crushed ice! It was absolutely disgusting! I will never go back! Went there with 2 kids a one year old and a two year old. And three adult. (As far as I knew that was five total) got out check and there was a 20% charge and when asked about waiter says it's for a party of 6!? Like wtf she was rude as hell the moment we walked in. She didn't want to deal with my children. Which was totally uncalled for. My bill went from $80 to $100 all from some fake charge that she charged us for. Then when it was one to pack up. They normally take your food wrap it up and bring it out to you nope she threw several boxes on the table and made us do it. A friend and I hadn't been to Aloha in several years, so for our birthdays decided to go and have a great dinner as we always had in the past. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice, Beef Lo Mein & Chichen Teriyaki. The fried rice was good, but the Lo Mein was very light and was so greacy that you could see the oil just sitting on the noodles. (was terrible). The the teriyaki chicken was so overcooked and dry you could have used it for a hockey puck. All in all it was a terrible meal and will never go again said to say because we always had good meals in years past. I ordered take out from Aloha the other night, and the food that was given to me was not as it is advertised on the menu. Also, there was food left out of my order. When I called and asked for a refund, I was told I could have a credit for the food missing, for the next time I order from Aloha. I explained that I would like my money back, as the food that I did recieve was also not as advertised and was not good, and so I never planned on going to Aloha again. Still, my money was not given back to me, yet I will never order from Aloha again. read more

Really fabulous. Had an amazing lunch. Seated immediately and served a complimentary piping hot, creamy and crispy crab Rangoon. The lunch combo was perfect and a generous portion. The egg roll was tasty, crispy and nice and hot, as were the pork fried rice and chow mean. Duck sauce was fresh, sweet and tasted homemade. Service was excellent. So impressed. Yesterday, we ate at Aloha and we were really looking forward to it. We found out that the owner is passing on the restaurant to his son. We soon noticed that the service is going down hill. We waited almost 20 minutes to order. Noticing that all the other tables had bread, we had to ask for it. This took about another 20 minutes. You now cannot ask for more bread anymore. The waitress Janine was very slow, although it was relatively quiet there. ( 5 tables full) . The tea is definitely different. We ordered Cokes and were never offered refills. The first impression was a bad one. The host was extremly rude. We were not greeted at the door . she made us saof and said "this way" . then she slammed down the cups and plate. Including the cups with the water. She rudley gave us the napkins. However another group came in and she was friendly. The fried rice was over cooked. And the white rice was not cooked enough. Disgusting, worst Chinese food I have ever had!!! I am pretty new to the area and love Chinese food. I have been trying out different Chinese food restaurants when my boyfriend and I go out and have not found one I really like yet. Last night I looked on-line to find a different restaurant and came across Aloha. It had great reviews and I wanted to try it although my boyfriend was skeptical, we tried it anyway. I should of gone with my boyfriend's gut instinct. We got it home and actually called them back thinking we had the wrong ordered as there was some weird pepper and sauce concoction and chicken fingers which we hadn't ordered. Apparently this was the General Tao's we ordered. Never had I had General Tao's like it but we tried it, lets just say it was horrible at best. I love vegetable and peppers but the peppers we so overpowering it was nauseating me just being on the table. We had to throw it out. The chicken was dry. The fried shrimp was good at first but then again made me sick as it was just soo greasy. The beef lo mien was ok but way to many onions and the beef was tough. The crab rangoons tasted like cream cheese with a hint of crab and the spring rolls were okay and yummy crunchy texture but lacked filling. I felt sick at the end of the meal and was upset as to top it all of I spent $47 for all of this and it sucked. If it had been good or just ok and I could eat it again I would be fine with spending that much. Don't waste your time or money. Oh and my boyfriend agrees it was the worst he had ever had as well. read more

Aloha is my favorite restaurant, hands down, all categories! It has been since the Romagnoli's table in Boston shut down. We have been going there for at least 25 years. It was always my children's favorite place and their first choice. Followed by 99, Weathervane, Hard Rock, etc. If I could only recommend one restaurant in the Manchester area, this would be it. They have traditional Chinese food... but it's just not as greasy and salty as other places. It's a nice place for families, friends, etc. You can sit comfortably and chat and it's the kind of atmosphere where customers are comfortable enough to chat with each other.. The owners welcome you in and oftentimes seat you. The employees seem to stay for decades, which means that they are treated well also. The chicken wings are a nice touch -- and Billy gave my youngest a free coke until he hit 6'2" and had a 5-o'clock shadow. We've had birthdays, graduations, family gatherings, mercy meals, and lots and lots of just regular weeknight dinners or lunches there. We've never had a single complaint. I can't remember when it opened... sometime around 1984-85? But we've been frequenting the Aloha ever since and will continue to do so. read more

10 of us went to Aloha tonight for my daughter;s birthday. The food is always great but the service tonight was awful and that is putting it mildly. The waitress never offered us drinks, didnt listen to anything we asked or said. It's like we were a bother. We asked the manager for a different waitress and she wasnt much better. My father asked if they had low sodium soy sauce and she went to see if they had low sodium chili paste. We have been there many times before but last night was the last time.
