I love this place I have been going there for many years. Take out is not as good as dinning in. dinning in is 100% worth it. Their food is delicious and filling. My favorite dish is pu pu platter for 2 and an extra side of crab Rangoon and chicken wings it can fill a big family and still have some leftover. Food review for the Aloha Restaurant @ 901 Hanover Street, East Side Plaza Manchester, NH Phone 1- 603-647-2100 0r 1 603-647-2110 My family ordered food on Saturday April 3rd 2022 for pickup around 2:00PM. We ordered $170.00 worth of food. That evening, after eating there was a lot of food left over. Sunday we set the food out to eat at lunch time. As our guest started to eat the leftovers a chicken finger was pick out of the Aloha's container and had a strand of stainless steel approximately three (3) inches long imbedded in it. This piece was the same as you would be used to scrub a stainless steel pan to clean off food residue. (SEE PICTURE). Upon this discovery, everybody left the table sickened and disgusted. The remaining food was thrown away because no one wished to chance consuming a foreign object lodge in any of the leftovers. We made a call to the Aloha and asked to speak to a manager and were informed that none was available. We spoke to Nate (the acting manager) and explained the situation to him. He didn't believed us, so we told him we would be right in to show him the chicken finger in question. We showed him the picture when we arrived, Nate denied any responsibility. We then showed him the chicken finger in the plastic bag, which he picked up and walked into the back room with it. When he returned he did not have it with him. WHEN NATE WAS ASKED SEVERAL TIMES TO RETURN THE CHICKEN FINGER HE REFUSED AND AGAIN DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY for the contamination that could have had serious consequences to anyone who may have consumed even a small piece of it. On Sunday April 04, 2022 we called the Aloha several times and each time we asked to speak to the owner Gary the staff member the answered the phone hung up on us. This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in Manchester. The food is great, but the hostess has a nasty attitude. My husband's card is worn out and he needs to get a new one. They were unable to swipe it and had asked for his ID to run it manually. No big deal. The hostess comes back, slaps the card on the table and tells us they can't accept the card. My husband politely asked why not. The waitress rudely says "Why? The owner told me we can't take it because it's not signed (it had his name on it and they had his ID) and it's a debit card". This was said with major attitude. We said something about her attitude when he came back with the cash and she denied having an attitude and would laugh every time she came over. I have fond memories of coming to the Aloha as a child. Specifically of my sister and I harassing our dad for quarters to play "Street Fighter" in the waiting area. Or the time my Dad reused to order my sister the French fries because we were "at a Chinese restaurant." Lol, anyways... Went here the other night with a friend and two young children, and the waitress was hands down the best I've ever had in terms of waitstaff dealing with two young children. You know what I mean- one is trying to slide down the booth to play on the floor and the other one is mixing up three different "potions" (her word, not mine). This waitress was amazing. She was so attentive and didn't seem the least bit annoyed or put off by our, shall we say, boisterous party. Will definitely be coming here again soon!! read more

This place is an absolute disgrace. The bartender gave us the worst experience at a "restaurant" I have had in probably 10 years. One of the regulars was loud and obnoxious and obviously way over served, but all he would give us were bud lights and he supposedly forgot to give one of us vodka in his vodka soda water. Yes, you read that right. He served only soda water. Then, after not paying attention for about 10 minutes, he checked on food requests, took the orders and continued to give us attitude when we were trying to carry on a conversation and then decided to not serve us the food. It was the most bizarre experience I have had in years. Dirty, disgusting, terrible attitudes, astoundingly horrible service, and it looks like a mental patient is running the place with how run down it is. My husband used to take me here when we were dating, towards the end of the 90's - he grew up in Manchester, and it was his Kowloon. Recently we were in the area, and it is one of the only restaurants open until 1am, and we were starving, so we went in. I can't remember the last time we were there, but it's probably been at least 10 years. It was almost 12:30am on a Saturday morning, so the bar was rockin', but the restaurant was almost empty. They gave us crab rangoon (instead of chicken wings, which is good, because I don't care for chicken wings) to gnaw on while waiting for the food - and the minute I ate a chicken finger I remembered why I liked the place so much. It isn't the best Chinese food I've ever had - and the place isn't so antiseptic you could eat off the floor. It reminds me of why I like Kowloon. We went twice in the same week and had two different waitstaff who combined between them didn't take a drink order, didn't bring cutlery or napkins even by the tie the food was served, forgot items we had ordered, overcharged one bill and disappeared when we were looking to leave and get the bill. If you're looking for old school American-style Chinese, this is the place. I like to get takeout Chinese from time to time, and I've tried most of the places in the area, and they really can't compare to the Aloha. Not even close, really. Specifically, the fried rice is perfect. To me, proper Chinese-American fried rice is supposed to be DARK. And a little greasy. Because, it's you know, fried. It seems every other place I've tried, the fried rice is kind of tan, with bits of peas and carrots. Sorry, that's not fried rice. And everything else I've tried - spare ribs, chicken wings, peking ravioli, crab rangoon - is also dead on - how it should be. It only doesn't get five stars due to minor cleanliness issues and mostly for the fact that it's American-style Chinese food. Which is utter crap that nobody should ever eat. Sort of the James Patterson novels of the food world. No real redeeming value, but when done correctly it can really hit the spot. read more

Hi my name is megan im leaving this review because I'm very disappointed and discouraged how I was treated today at Aloha I have a medical condition called Tourettes syndrome which makes me make involuntary noices and can somtimes be loud I was asked to leave from the bartender after I had a drink and lunch because one male patron was ridiculing me about my condition ... he said he did not believe I had Tourettes and I was being annoying to the rest of the customers.. so the bar tender made her way right over to my table to tell me I had to leave and she was no longer going to serve me again.. um I asked why was I being kicked out.. she said he was a" regular patron" and I need to pay n leave... mind you I refused to pay... and will never return into this establishment ever again for the way I was treated! Totally disgusted with people ...mind you I was there a week or two before and two kind patrons paid my bill ... I went to pay for my bill it had been kindly paid for ... so weird .. but ty for the patrons with the kind heart that went out of therecway to make me smile! read more

And my favorite part is that they dont cook the meat and sweet and sour sauce together so the food is always crunchy. ID RATHER STARVE THAN EAT HERE AGAIN. I have never once left a review in my life, and if I could give zero or negative stars I'd do it in a heartbeat. My girlfriend and I went for dinner, only one table was occupied before us. We both got a drink which was fine. There was only one waitress who was very short and clearly did not want to be there in the slightest. I ordered a plate as did my girlfriend,our food came and to be quite frank, it looked like a bunch of dead animals on my plate, grey, absolutely appalling to even look at. I took one bite of fried rice and knew I couldn't continue. I let my waitress know that I wouldn't finish the entirety of the plate i had left, she asked if she could wrap it up for me, and I once again told her that i would not eat the food. She did not offer me any other food. When she brought us the bill i Was surprised to see that I was being charged the plate of food I hardly touched. I got her attention and let her know that I wasn't willing to pay For food that I didn't eat, but was more than happy to pay for everything else. Without another word being exchanged, our waitress yelled out to her manager that I wouldn't pay. When the manager, Denise, got to our table, she immediately greeted us with "i am not taking your food off the bill". About 10 minutes went by with no compromise, no willingness to problem solve, or even address the issue at hand. Our waitress would occasionally yell from across the room to argue as well. i would recommend the McDonalds right next door in a heartbeat to anyone even considering this place. As a rule this is a descent place but tonight was a big let down. Wait staff was good but the management was a lot to be desired. Ordered a shrimp curry rice dish and it came out as chicken. The wait staff said keep it and admitted he put shrimp into the computer, he ordered the correct shrimp one. The manager came out, didn't say a word, looked a the curry rice dish, took it away. About ten minutes later the waiter showed up with the shrimp curry dish. The curry was almost tasteless, but the main issue I had was in eating it I got a dose of dirt. My department decided to order from them mid April of 2017. We placed a decent sized take out order and sent someone to pick it up as they do not offer delivery service. When my colleague returned to our place of employment, my order was not included in the pick up, despite having paid for it. A call to the restaurant resulted in a credit for my meal being placed on file for the order because we could not spare someone else to go back to the restaurant and pick up what was not given to us. on 5/10/17, my department wanted Chinese Food again. The main factor in choosing a return to Aloha was the fact that I had a meal credit. I personally placed the order and verified that my meal would be free today because of the previous issue. The person who took our order assured me that my meal would be free because of the credit. My colleague drove to pick it up once again. Upon arrival, she was informed that my credit had been cashed in and she needed to pay for my meal. When she returned to the workplace and informed me what had happened, I called the restaurant to find out what was going on. The manager i spoke to refused to take ownership of the problem I presented to her. The only thing she was willing to do was have the manager who confirmed that my credit was used up reach out to me. She repeatedly told me that policy would not let her do anything else and that since she was out on leave when my credit was issued, she had absolutely nothing to do with my situation, despite being the manager on duty when I called. She refused to take ownership of the situation, talked over me and had a discourteous tone the entire time we were on the phone together. After disconnecting the call because I did not trust that I would get a call back or get any resolution to my issue, I returned to my desk to eat my #13. The chicken fingers were greasy. The boneless pork was both tough and bland. The fried rice did not taste like fried rice, having a different marinade flavor in it altogether. I ended up tipping the entire container in the trash because it tasted disgusting. My company employs hundreds of people at our location. While we cannot speak for every employee in the building, I can say that my department will no longer be ordering from Aloha and we are encouraging other departments to follow suit. read more

They give you crab rangoon and bread. For drinks we ordered a suffering bastard and Dr. Funk. Both drinks were strong but the funk only tasted like and wreaked of sambuca. Suffering bastard - not terrible. Now back to the food - bread was good, scallion pancakes ok but greasy. Everything else? Absolutely disgusting, horrendous, couldn't finish anything, gross, wanted to die. Service was ok. Place is gross and dirty - dried up old vomit on the urinal was a treat.
