It has been a while since I last ate here, but this place used to be a go to for me back in high school. Their salads were just that good and it never felt like you were eating "healthy" food. We ordered the Ono Island Ahi and the Mandarin Ginger, and flavor wise the salads themselves still hold up. Portions felt fair and the prices were reasonable in my opinion. I also appreciated that it came with two pieces of pita bread. That said, the service really took away from the experience. When we ordered, the employee took our order but did not really start making the salad. His manager had to come out, at which point he jumped a bit and then started assembling the salad. He did not ask if we wanted it tossed, which they used to do, and instead just layered everything together. The biggest disappointment came when I got home and realized my Ono Island Ahi salad had no dressing at all, not on the side and not inside. That was frustrating and honestly a letdown, especially since the dressing is a big part of what makes these salads so good. The space itself looks clean and it is very convenient being inside Kahala Mall, with plenty of parking which is always a plus. Overall, the food concept is great and the salads are still tasty, but the service is lacking and needs improvement for me to fully enjoy coming back regularly. read more

This place is great. Quick and tasty. So glad I ventured to their salad menu. Family loves their Big Island beet salad with goat cheese and passion orange vinaigrette! This time we also tried the Paniolo salad. To get our protein in, I added ahi (their seasoned seared ahi is delish) and steak to the salads. I also decided to add mandarin oranges, bell peppers, and cucumbers to the Paniolo salad for 99 cents each. Was little disappointed at the portion size of those additions. Was also disappointed with the steak. There was lots of crunchy/hard/chewy pieces that had to be tossed. Love this place! The salads are always so fresh and tasty. I have gotten the Mandarin Ginger salad and the Aloha Mediterranean. Both are very tasty. All salads come with some pita bread and the dressing is place on the side so you and add as much as you like. The service is quick. The only complaints I have is that there was not much chicken and it can be on the more expensive side. It is about $5 to add chicken to your salad. I'm never a gal who buys salads, mostly because I can make them. But I recently received a gift card to aloha salads and I was pleasantly surprised with their selection of greens choices and wraps! In my opinion, a large salad was a great snack for two, but if you want a meal get a big one for yourself. My grandfather and I tried the big island beet and Ono island ahi, which both came with a delicious dressing and fresh toppings. Service was very quick and the girls taking orders and making the salads were super patient with me asking all kinds of questions about size and popular items and what not. Visited Kahala Aloha Salads (first time in awhile) ordered the Beet salad and the Ahi wrap. Both were just wonderful....the Ahi wrap was flavorful with the fish nicely seasoned and cute grape tomatoes....i would have loved more greens tho. Review on the açaí bowl only. It's surprising that a salad place would sell açaí bowls. The bowls are smaller and pricey but delicious. The acai is topped with banana, granola, blueberries, and strawberries with honey drizzled on top. So good! The bowl fixes the cravings and frankly I think it's one of the better açaí bowls. The staff are super fast making the bowls and after you do crave more. There's seating outside and inside to enjoy your açaí bowl. read more

Looking for a light dinner, we opted for two wraps from the Kahala location. The servers were very polite and accommodating and the food came out in just about 5 minutes. The curry chicken wrap was juicy and not too spicy. The gyro wrap had a good amount of meat with a nice tzaziki like sauce and ample greens. I really love their Mediterranean salad I add 2 portions of chicken usually and it's perfect. Particularly love the Kalamata olives it's just so good. It's a bit pricey but let's be real what isn't now days. My gf usually gets the Maui mozzarella and adds beets and she is also crazy about that one. Great salads if you ask me. read more

I visit either this location or the one in Kailua about once a week and I do love the salads, however, something is missing from my salad literally every single time without fail and at both locations! My boyfriend and I get the same salads every time we go but do like to customize them and they often leave out the customization items( that we have to pay extra for) and other times even the items that are in the standard salad recipe such as the dressing. 12/9 at 11:37 am went to pickup my mobile order. I waited for four minutes to get someone to acknowledge me and ask if I need help / picking up and order. Let me just say that the three young men did see me but ignored that I was even there. As I finally received my order and was in my car about to fix my glasses and noticed a foul smell and it was coming from my fingers where I help the bag. Let me just say I'm very sensitive to smells and a very clean person who washes and disinfects a lot of things. First time grabbing a bite from this place which is located right next to the main entrance to Kahala Mall. We were very satisfied with each wrap ordered. I had the veggie mediterranean wrap which was delish! Loved the crispy greens, olives, feta cheese, onions, hummus with the pita bread. It's only a take out/pick up place. There is a nice set up of tables and benches in the mall for people to eat, but it can be busy like today so finding an open spot can be challenging. My picture shows a deconstructed Paniolo Salad, purchased in person Thursday evening 1/9/25. This is not the first time I've ordered this from Aloha Salad at Kahala Mall. In case you can't tell, the salad included a tad over a tablespoon (!) of corn from a can, 3 grape tomatoes, a few small mushy avo slices and a measly 7 little pieces of dried up jicama. I get that prices are up everywhere, for everything. But this went beyond that to just plain stingy. On the plus side the tons of greens included only a few inedible pieces. Yay. read more

I will not be coming back. I thought it was just me but even my friend had a negative experience about this place. It only took me one experience to understand I can go on with my life without ever coming back here. It's clear that management does not care about who they hire and how their workers operate. No acknowledgement as we stood in line. Okay, fine - don't need the greeting. No "thank you", okay fine - don't need to be thanked. Food was average and not proportionate to the price. Okay, so that's a three star review. What makes this a generous two star review? Another terrible experience with my friend. We ordered online twice and both times they failed to acknowledge her as she stood right in front of the area that says to pick up online orders. Pretty much both times were the same experience, but specifically, one time, she went to pick up the online order. As she stood there waiting, she saw one of the workers touch the trash can with his bare hands and then slip on gloves to handle food. Hm. I guess it keeps the germs out? Or does it keep those germs inside the gloves? Not sure. Anyways, she stands there for 15 minutes and still nothing. Finally, someone noticed her. But that's it - stares at her, like an animal in the wild on National Geographic. And then finally asks her name and hands her the prepared food that's been sitting there for 15 minutes. Why didn't she say anything? Well, she was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. She figured they were busy and didn't wanna seem demanding. I guess she should've. Okay, so again, this happened twice. Doesn't seem like a one-off experience and when she told me, I was not surprised of this service. Obviously management does not care how this business operates. Hire anyone who can handle cash and make a salad. Customer service is on the back burner or non-existent. Nowadays, I can't even complain about price because customer service is so overwhelmingly negative that it's worse than any price-gauging salad. Don't waste your time or money. Paniolos is right next door and you'll get quality, proportionate meals, and decent human-being customer service. read more

As I rushed out of the house in the morning, I pondered over what to bring to her home... Because local style - you don't go empty-handed to someone's house. I considered a sushi platter, but some people don't eat raw fish... I knew that she had fried chicken on the menu, so, I thought that a salad would balance out the oil... I had seen Aloha Salad at Kahala Mall. Located by Whole Foods and inside of the mall by Starbucks, this vendor was on the way to Hawaii Kai. With free, shared, covered parking, I ran inside and my phone order was ready by the time I arrived. The efficient cashier remembered to give me a container of creamy salad dressing. Next time, I would get the Mediterranean Salad or the Beet Salad. I only ordered the Cobb Salad because it was the first salad menu item that I saw. It was wrapped well, and had a beautiful presentation with the bacon, grilled chicken, fanned avocados, crumbled blue cheese, halved grape tomatoes, and sliced hard-boiled eggs layered neatly on the top of the pan of spring mixed greens. I was craving a salad today and decided to stop in at this location. My usual go to is their Ono Island Ahi Salad. It is very refreshing and I love how the flavors mix well with its mango vinegarette dressing minus the shredded coconut. Today I decided to try a different salad, the Big Island Beet Salad. It consists of mixed greens, mangoes, beets, crasins, candied walnuts, and feta cheese with a vinegarette. It was yummy but just a little too sweet for me. I prefer the Ono Island Ahi Salad better. My other ALWAYS HAVE to order item is their tomato bisque with extra cheese. It also comes with naan bread. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I've tried tomato bisque at so many other restaurants, but no one had come close to Aloha Salads. The flavor is just splendid! It has a great creamy light tomato flavor with a slight hint of salt and spice. The naan bread is also so soft and can be dipped into the bisque. Soooo Yummmyyyyy! They have a variety of salads, wraps, sandwiches, and bowls. You are able customize your salad as well if you would like. Their menu isn't really big but I think it's just right with many different options. The service is always great here. The employees are always courteous and friendly. They also have a point system which is awesome but I wish it did it automatic when you enter your number. The employees give you a receipt and you need to scan it to get the points. Pita wrap? Yes please! It's like a sandwich, but filled with colorful fillings and is more manageable to eat. This is my go-to food when I'm in Kahala Mall and is busy doing errands and just wanted to have an easy meal to fill my hungry monstrous stomach. Customer service is friendly and they are straightforward. You can either order on their own menu or customize your own wrap. Usually I love to order mine from their signature wrap and it's always delicious and just perfect enough to stop listening on my growling stomach. Ceasar salad with chicken. If you can see by the length of the fork, the portion is small for $8.95. Added another $2.00 for the 5 tiny pieces of chicken was such a rip off. You can't tell by the picture but the pieces of chicken were so thin, it was not worth the extra 2 bucks. I've had this salad before and this portion is not what I had the last time, which was more with it. It's a bit salty and it wasn't evenly seasoned. The saltiness overpowered somehow because the capers too. Maybe seasoned the fish evenly and put capers or do not put capers if you know that you put too much seasoning on the fish. But overall t'was so good and I'mma satisfied bandit here! By the way, all three wraps used pita bread. Bandit & I can come back in here for lunch. Pretty decent healthy meal on the go. And besides, customer service is superb. Strange that it took me so long to try this place but so glad I did! We've been back here several times this past month in our search to eat lighter healthier take out (at times...) Both times I got the Kamuela Cobb and substituted fresh mozzarella for the blue cheese. We also got the shrimp salad and tried a wrap. But the real winner was the tomato bisque soup. It's got to be the best I've ever tasted! Greens in the salad are always fresh and crisp. Our last order they forgot the extra dressing we paid for for one of the salads and one of the soups was not filled to the top but my Cobb salad lasted me for 2 meals so that made up for it.
