I am pleasantly surprised at how fast and amazing the service was tonight. I've been to this location a few times before and the service wasn't the best. I stopped going to this location for a while because of that. But I decided to take a chance and go with my fiancé because I was craving the garlic cream fettuccine! This is always my go to dish whenever I eat at CPK. (Please don't ever get rid of it! I love it so much!) Also because I had a gift card I got for Christmas last year lol I like that they have a text message system for the wait list now instead of the pager thing they used to have. It's very convenient! (It's been a while since I've dined this location lol) As soon as I got the text that the table was almost ready, we got seated right away. Our server was quick to help us get our drinks and order started. He was a nice young Asian boy with glasses. (I can't remember his name!ahh) There was another guy helping us too which was nice! We later found out there's people helping the restaurant from the Special Olympics tonight. There's a fundraiser for them if you want to help donate. Our order came out really fast. It was the fastest I've ever received the food here! The restaurant was super busy too. So I was genuinely surprised and how fast everything was. We managed to get in and out basically within 30 minutes! Thats a record. CPK has been a consistently favorite spot for family dining over the years, and the Kahala Mall location is no different. The food is always good, as it's the service. It was my granddaughter's 2nd birthday, so we decided to have lunch here on a rainy Friday. The mall was fairly busy, even on a rainy day, and CPK was about half full. They're prepared for families with young children, providing a children's menu with crayons for coloring. My 2 year old GD likes corn, so we ordered the street corn appetizer, along with the spinach dip with chips. I had the chicken piccata, which was shared with my GD (she ate almost one full piece), along with a pizza and the apps. In case you didnt know the CPK Kahala is the #1 busiest and highest grossing CPK in the US, and our Ala Moana Location is #2. They are always busy and do a lot of take outs. They do not take reservations but will call you when your table is ready. My son loves CPK and chose it for his bday dinner. Service is always great and I love that they have seasonal specials to keep it interesting. The new grilled salmon picatta was delicious, and the steak chopped salad was yummy. Disappointed to say the least. We have always enjoyed CPK but this was not that same experience we usually have. To preface, it wasn't super busy. It took a little time to take our orders but not too bad. We ordered the short rib lasagna, burnt ends pizza and a kids fusilli. We then see them bringing out food to other tables as we wait thinking maybe ours takes a little longer. I end up taking my daughter walking around cause she is getting restless as the time goes on. 20 minutes had already passed. Finally, after 30 minutes I stand up and have to find someone to tell our server to check on our order. Then a manager comes by and asks how we are doing, I tell her we have been waiting a while and our food still hasn't come out. I get apologies from both of them but still nothing. Finally my 1 year old daughter's meal comes out. Mind u this is noodles and olive oil. Yes that's it and it took 40 minutes. Then another 5-10 minutes for our meals. The kicker was my daughter's meal comes with a milk. They forgot it and we were so hungry we forgot too. I had to find someone to get our bill and then let them know they forgot the milk but forget it already cause it's too late. Apologize were said but seriously, at this point it was too damn late. CPK is a staple in my family's restaurant rotation because it's convenient. But I think it's strange that nearly everytime we go, the menu is different! We all know that means prices increase with each printing. It is fun to have different (new) things to try, but I think most have been flops. Even their old, classic items have been inconsistent lately. For example, salads have gotten smaller with less dressing. Similar with pastas - smaller with less sauce. Recently we ordered salmon picatta with brocollini for over $30. It was a ridiculously small piece of salmon with 2 pieces of brocollini single stalks. Very sad. Best deal is happy hour. However the items are very "flavorful" so may just want to stick with your favorite entrees. Service is ... kind staff but last time we were basically forgotten. Tables around us turned over 3 times. We had been wanting to dine at CPK for months, finally an opportune time manifested itself. Our server was Katelyn, she was perfection. Polite and courteous, her attention to us was much appreciated. We ordered a small soup, a half charcuterie salad and a mushroom pizza. My husband order the red wine flight and it turned out to be a good deal. The wines were good and my husband is quite picky. The wild mushroom pizza was cooked just right and I was so pleased with the amount of sliced mushrooms was very generous. The one complaint we could make was the salad was over dressed. I don't really understand the hype. The pizza doesn't do anything exceptional I don't think. It's not bad, but not mind boggling, and also isn't cheap. Solidly not $22 worth in my books. The pasta was even more of a ripoff though - we tried their promo short rib lasagna - which was decidedly lacking in both short ribs and sauce. So so dry. The wedge salad was probably the best value for what you get. Overall though, mediocre food, at $100 for a family of four, all for the pleasure of eating in the hall at the mall (this part was definitely the worst - it was meant to be a treat dinner out for the kids and we may as well have eaten in the food court). Ambiance: Busy with a lot of Holiday shoppers. It was the usual time for the evening dinner rush, 6:30 thru 7:30 pm. 5-star service this evening. Wait time was on par, seated within 30 minutes as quoted. Thank you Josh for your ability to multitask and remain calm as a host. Truly the 5 star rating goes to our service provider, Kristin. She greeted us as soon as we were seated. She took our drink order and she said she would be right back to take our food order and she actually came back within minutes with warm bread. We ordered our usual, salad and pastas and they were served within 20 minutes. Krystin was on top of things by coming back to check if we needed anything. 09/12/25 Had a really nice lunch with friends today. Thai salad was delicious, full of red cabbage, cucumbers, cilantro, peanuts and flavor. I ate the whole thing! Service was perfect, nice young man who was so attentive and prompt. The butter cake was huge that I could not finish all. What would I do different? I ordered the Pizza Neapolitan Burrata in the restaurant for my birthday, and it was absolutely amazing. Because I loved it so much, I ordered the exact same pizza for takeout today. Unfortunately, the takeout version was nothing like what I had in the restaurant. The burrata cheese came in a separate container, ice cold straight from the refrigerator, and the fresh basil was also packed separately. Anyone who's had burrata knows the creamy center is meant to soften and spread over the warm pizza. Because the burrata was so cold, it wouldn't even spread. Instead of enjoying the pizza, I would have had to put it back in the oven just to warm the cheese enough to get the same experience I had in the restaurant. That's not what I expected when I ordered takeout. I called and spoke with the manager because I thought there had been a mistake. She told me that's how they serve it for takeout and that next time I should ask for the burrata and basil to be put on the pizza before it's boxed. My question is: How would I know to ask for that? If takeout is prepared differently than dine-in, customers should be told when they place their order. No one mentioned it, and I had no reason to think I'd have to request that the pizza be assembled the way it's served in the restaurant. The pizza itself is excellent, which makes this even more disappointing. This could have been avoided with one simple question when I ordered: "Would you like the burrata and basil packed separately or placed on the pizza?" I hope they change their process or at least let customers know they have a choice. read more

We had the wild mushroom pizza and a small size Caesar salad, which was very good the mushroom pizza was great lots of flavor and the crust done right chewy with a crispy crust. The Caesar salad small was just right side and it came with fresh vegetables and croutons and Parmesan cheese. The build your own sundae was delicious and we enjoyed the strawberry purée and the fudge and nuts. Service was good and pretty fast, for they were fairly packed when we went. Sometimes it is incredibly challenging to maintain one's equanimity, and last night proved that point. After waiting around 10 minutes to be seated, we were given a shady, tiny table--despite the fact that many far more desirable tables were clearly available throughout the restaurant. When my loved one asked the receptionist if we could be moved to a better table, he told us they were "not available" or "not open." Seriously? I understand that this place is popular and almost always packed, but after last night's experience, I've decided to cross this eatery off my list. If I want California Pizza Kitchen, I'll go to the much friendlier location at Ala Moana Shopping Center instead. That said, there are plenty of pizza restaurants around that offer better food and, more importantly, a far superior dining experience. It's a state holiday and when you holo-holo around... you get hungry! Popped into CPK at Kahala Mall with the hubby on a whim to try out some new menu items. There was a brief wait, but we were next in line and seated within 10 minutes. The restaurant was surprisingly busy at 2:00 pm but our waitress Kela took excellent care of us and quickly brought ice water and house bread. We wasted no time and ordered the Spinach & Artichoke Dip ($14.99) with chips. It is a tried and true appetizer, and delicious. The only unfortunate thing is that this came out just moments before our entrees, so our 2-top table got crowded very quickly. We didn't know what we were hungry for and settled on the Wild Mushroom Pizza ($22.99) on cauliflower crust(!) and Chicken Picatta pasta ($22.49). The Mushroom Pizza was divine! Simply made, with pretty much just olive oil, garlic, cremini mushrooms three types of cheese, it was absolutely scrumptious and left us wanting more! The Chicken Picatta is something I love to eat at Italian restaurants. The flavors of the lightly breaded chicken cooked with lemon and capers, then served on linguine - this is one of my comfort foods. It always make me smile and my tummy happy! My daughter and I went in this evening and were seated pretty quickly. However, it took 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge our presence. Waited another 15 for our order to be taken. Don't get me wrong there can't be a day that I wouldn't want a pizza let alone a crafted piece with selected toppings unique to CPK which I'd love any day and I've been to this Kahala Mall location which is right beside Macy's numerous times and has always been good if you have great timing to snag a table. This Kahala location is surprising quite spacious though they don't really use the back as I'm not a fan of eating just inches away from shoppers walking by which the area they use frequently as the tables as well are very very close to other so getting out and walking by other diner is uncomfortable. What I do love is how they keep things revolving and I love either seasonal or just something new or limited and since it's been awhile everything seems new to me and it had to be the "Braised Short Rib Ragu" BAM! along with their house bread with seasoned olive oil it was indeed the comfort lunch that was very much needed. Update 11-25-25. We was going to eat ramen today but since my husband needed to take blood for hes upcoming appointment. Clinical lab in Kahala mall is hes go to place. So he said since we're there we go have lunch at CPK. We had a half Italian chopped salad my husband had macaroni and cheese with smoke bacon. I had spaghetti colognes. The reason for my complaint is for the shrimp scampi. There was hardly any pasta it seems like I and my friend was given scraps. There drink that was served sparkling strawberry mango my friend had a full drink and my drink was not. Server was Kuuipo. She seem nice but stressed kinda out spoken. I shared about my food.
