I really love the salads here. You can eat all you want and you don't feel heavy even after eating til you're full. I got a large sized Aloha Ceasar with Grilled Chicken as protein. I had to try this place. I was very excited about the seared ahi and rightfully so. The seasoning and the seared was excellent. I could have had another serving of just the ahi. I've been to their other locations at Kahala Mall and Pearlridge Mall; and I noticed that they offer the same menu as the other locations around the islands(I'm assuming it's owned by the same person or is franchised). The only pet peeve of mine in this location is their consistency. I went on two separate occasions and I ordered the same salads. This tuna is literally just lettuce and the smallest plot of tuna, we had to swap out mangos due to being allergic and they did not even add the things we asked to swap in, for 12$ this is the saddest thing I've seen, the workers take no pride lately. A solid four stars for this location. I remember visiting another Aloha Salads on island and not being as impressed. I think that's what kept me from trying the Kapolei location for so long. The prices are elevated if you're comparing them to the other sandwich shop a couple of doors down, but for the quality of the food that is served (and the awesome fact that everything is locally sourced) and the portions, they're actually quite reasonable. My go-to is the big island beet salad (I sub out the goat cheese for gorgonzola) but I've tried bites of others' food and enjoyed everything. As a creature of habit, I always get the same thing. Ever since one of my colleagues turned my on to their steak wrap, I've been a fan. Super tasty and filling. I ask them to hold the red onions as I'm usually on a lunch break and don't want bad breath. The wrap is extremely messy to eat and falls all over the place and the sauce gets all over your hands. I've purchased this kale from the farmers market, it is very curly and needs to be soaked/washed and rinsed several times for all the dirt/nature to be removed lol. If it wasn't for my buddy suggesting this place randomly on a drunken afternoon, I wouldn't have ever tried this place because salad is not part of this body's diet . You're able to customize your salads and fruit bowls which is a good option to have if you're picky. Our go-to for the handful of times we've gone here hasn't changed, primarily because it quenches they cravings. We've tried other stuff on the menu but it doesn't quite hit the spot like these items. 1. Curried Chicken Wrap - curried chicken salad, mango chutney, carrots, cranberries, grapes, coconut, romaine. Served on pita bread. They have an option to serve on half papaya but that just sounded wrong to me. 2. Tomato Bisque (1 pita bread included) 3. I've been coming here for a few years because I like their food, but their service is hit and miss. After this last visit though, it may be my last. I came in at around 11:30am and there was only one customer in front of me who was waiting for someone to take her order. There were about four workers putting together orders so they weren't understaffed; however, no one was at the register. After a couple of minutes they finally helped the customer in front of me. Then it was my turn, but again no one was at the register to take my order. I stood there for a few minutes and not one person acknowledged me. They didn't even look my way. So I walked out. I understand being busy, but it literally takes seconds to let customers know that you'll be with them. Their lack of acknowledgement basically told me that they didn't want my patronage so I took my money elsewhere. In this crappy economy, a restaurant should want as many customers as possible, but apparently not this one. read more
