We had a wonderful dinner at Aloha Steakhouse in Waikiki! I tried the tomahawk steak the last time I visited and was really excited to bring my friends back to try it, but unfortunately it had sold out. They're first-come, first-served now, even if you note it on the reservation, so I'd recommend booking earlier in the evening if that's what you're hoping for (they sold out around 7 PM when we went). That said, our server Kula was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, he truly made the experience even better. He shared that their steaks are cut in-house, and we appreciated learning how they trim off excess fat so customers get more of the actual meat they're paying for. It's thoughtful details like that that made us feel really taken care of. He also helped us choose some incredible alternatives, and his recommendation of the Wagyu picanha absolutely stole the show. It was so tender, flavorful, and definitely my new favorite. At 14 oz, it was also a great portion for my boyfriend and me to share with a few sides. We'll definitely be coming back for that one. We also ordered the dry-aged cowboy ribeye. You could really taste the depth of flavor and aged character, and I'm glad I tried it, but next time I'd still choose the Wagyu picanha (rare because it cooks from the residual heat) For sides, the truffle fries were tasty, though next time I'd probably go with the garlic fries since the truffle flavor was subtle. And if you like pork belly, don't skip the bacon steak because it was juicy, delicious, and something my best friend said they would absolutely order again. Booked a reservation for a birthday celebration. Validated 4 hours parking at the Hyatt right across the street. However, must have been a busy Saturday night, we did not find a stall at all there. We had to find alternative parking which can be very difficult in Waikiki. Grr... Anyways, made it to our reservation late but got seated. Nice restaurant and pretty spacious. We did family style to try different dishes. But portions are kind of small. Ordered a bunch of steak and meat, appetizers, and sides. I don't recall the name of the steak dishes but it was good. Aloha Steakhouse was decent, but very expensive for the overall quality. I would not recommend the creamed spinach because it was completely flavorless. I also wouldn't order the lobster mac and cheese if you're expecting plenty of lobster chunks, ours had only one piece sitting on top. The portobello mushroom was incredible, and the salmon was the best I've ever had--both were highlights of the meal. The arugula salad with pineapple vinaigrette, however, was just meh. My husband originally wanted the 32-ounce Wagyu beef steak, but our waiter said they had run out, so he had to upgrade to the 40-ounce portion. Honestly, how does a steakhouse run out of steak? Unfortunately, the steak had a lot of fat and was just okay, especially considering the price. The parts where the coarse salt were sprinkled made it better. As someone who eats steak often and really appreciates a good steak, I was very disappointed. The dry-aged NY steak I received had a tough section of muscle running through the middle, which made it very chewy. For an $85 12oz steak, I expected much better quality and preparation. The ribeye was also disappointing, as it seemed to have little to no seasoning and lacked the rich flavor you would expect from a quality steakhouse. Overall, the steaks did not justify the price, and we left feeling let down. This is a great casual steakhouse if you're looking for buttery, flavorful steaks at a good value. The ribeye was definitely the star of the meal. It was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender with a rich, buttery flavor. We also tried the ribeye filet, which was decent, but it wasn't nearly as tender or memorable as the regular ribeye. Next time, I'd stick with the ribeye or try the tomahawk. The sides were solid overall. The mac and cheese was super cheesy and satisfying. The Brussels sprouts weren't really my favorite since they lacked the crispy texture I usually look for. The crab cakes were excellent and packed with crab meat. The fries were okay, though I found them a little oily. For dessert, the watermelon soft serve is a must-order. It was refreshing and easily the best dessert on the menu. I'd skip the Kona coffee creme brulee. The consistency was off, and the coffee flavor came across more bitter than balanced. My only real complaint is that there's no air conditioning, so the dining room can get pretty warm, especially during dinner service. Mashed potatoes we added cheese and bacon however the cheese was so burnt to a crisp at top that you had to eat under it to get any potatoes. Wow! Went here for a nice family dinner and we were blown away. The steak selection is incredible. We ended up getting the Brazilian ribeye, crab cakes, baked potato, and Mac n cheese. Everything was a hit. My kids are picky eaters and they ate everything. The watermelon sorbet dessert was insane. I didn't think it was going to be good but it ended up being a highlight. Our server, Isabell, was great! She gave us a super cool steak cutting show and got our food and drinks out super fast. They validated parking for the lot across the street at the Hyatt. Easy reservation on OpenTable although if you're looking for a weekend reservation I'd recommend booking a week in advance! Gorgeous intimate space with indoor and outdoor seating. Now for food: The iceberg lettuce with blue cheese and bacon is a nice portion for two. Fries are a MUST. They are fried with beef tallow and were so yummy! Ribeye was great to share for two (could even be shared by 4) it was huge! They bring it out sizzling on a hot plate and cut it infront of you with their house butter to top it off and my goodness it was perfect!! The Lobster mac and cheese was a 10/10!!! The noodles were cooked al dente and the lobster/cheese was so creamy and delicious! It never curdled and was a highlight aside from the ribeye. It's the perfect portion for 2-3! If you're going to get any side... this is the one. Trust me! Now for the two items that knocked a star off the rating: the shrimp and asparagus. Honestly the shrimp was awful. The skin was soggy like it sat in the garlic for too long and then recooked a few times (I'm sure it wasn't but the texture and chewy-likeness felt like it). It was literally inedible. We took a bite out of one and couldn't stomach the rest. The asparagus seemed like it was pre-boiled (or possibly just over steamed), topped with cheese and then used a kitchen torch to give it a little crisp or just sat under a heat lamp for hours. They were also inedible. Given they were the only two disappoints I'd say the most important thing is the steak and for that this place is worth a try! Walking in, you're greeted with the soft mumble of the current patrons and have the bar area right in front with the tables more towards the back of the restaurant. It's an upscale, trendy, more on the causal side but perfect for the area it's in. We settled on the dinner for two + the Hamachi Cruedo after ordering a couple cocktails. We started with a Hawaiian Punch and Maitai, ordering a Lychee Martini that I didn't snag a picture of. The martini was the show stopper, 100% The wedge salad was refreshing, the stuffed Portabello was so-so and the Hamachi tasted sooo fresh The Picanha come out whole and is sliced table-side and sprinkled with a bit of salt that you can add throughout the meal. And the watermelon soft serve is something I'd come back time and time again! If you ever find yourself in the Waikiki area, please come here! I came here to celebrate my anniversary with my husband in July. It was our first time dining here. We usually celebrate our anniversary at a steakhouse, so we decided to try Aloha Steak House this year. We were seated on the patio area outside. It had a casual feel, which was a nice change of pace for a steakhouse. Our server, Justin, was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. We finally settled on ordering the 32 oz. Tomahawk to share, mashed potatoes, brussels & bacon, side grilled lobster tail, and ahi poke as an appetizer. The Tomahawk steak was delicious! I love how they cut it table-side for us and added the butter and salt to our liking. They gave us two complimentary desserts for our anniversary! We have been frequenting "Aloha Steak House" in Honolulu since it opened. We go to Hawaii once or twice a year, we go to this steak house every time. This is my first review for this exemplary establishment. We made no reservations, we never have and we never wait more than ten to twenty minutes. We were greeted by a cheerful hostess and assured it wouldn't be long before we would be seated. She was right. the place is quite large, spacious and filled with lots of natural light. We were seated out on the large deck overlooking Seaside avenue. Our server, Jeffrey introduced himself and asked if we'd been here before and how things worked. He proceeded to take our drink orders and and an order for some appetisers as well. Our drinks arrived at that point he asked if we were ready to order, which we were. There were three in our party. My husband ordered the filet mignon. Our good friend, ordered the N.Y. strip and I had the twin lobster tails. Our appetisers came thick cut bacon and garlic shrimp were just what we needed to start off with. We didn't order a bottle of wine so each of us was having something different to drink we just kept them coming. The time came when or entrees arrived and we were eager to greet them! Our friends N.Y. strip arrived on a hot iron plate. Jeffrey took the steak off the the iron skillet and began carving it, in the meantime placing the butter from the plate and placing it on the hot skillet were it sizzled and placed the carved steak on it quite a presentation! My husbands filet mignon was cooked to his liking. My twin lobster tails were sizeable and so satisfying. We had two sides a baked potato and mashed potatoes. I'm afraid we were so in the moment we didn't take any pictures of the food but we did take a picture of one of my all time favourite desserts, the watermelon soft serve. Whether seated inside or outside, the staff is attentive and the views are immaculate. I enjoyed the outdoor seating as an avid people watcher. The gentle breeze and sunset were cherries on top. Emily, our waitress offered us a bin for our bags. Emily was an excellent server. Our glasses weee always topped with water. She answered every question asked and anticipated. Emily was caring and transparent. Best service I've experienced in a while. She even brought out a free brownie to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent. Dinner for two (priced at $175 as of Dec 2025) started with a delicious wedge salad. The holiday ham was surprisingly good a well portioned, complemented by whole grain mustard and cranberry sauce. The T-bone steak was not as buttery as other cuts of meat at Aloha, but 24 oz is hard to complain about. The steak came with a house made butter and Maui onion sauce. Baked potato was lovely. We celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary on Oahu, so we decided to do something a bit fancy for it in between food trucks, spam musubis, and malasadas. I scheduled the reservation on Open Table for 7:30 pm and I included a note that I am handicapped and use a mobility aid. Using Yelp!, I read that we can park across the street at the Hyatt Centric, and the restaurant does validate for parking there. When we arrived at the building, I saw they had stairs, each step was a bit larger than standard steps. To the side of the steps was an elevator, but it requires someone to come out and operate it. My husband had to go up the steps to ask someone at the restaurant to help us, and that person had to call the person who operates the lift. Not wanting to wait or be late (I was also tired from walking through the parking structure and across the street), I just climbed the steps, but had to have someone carry my walker up for me. By the time I reached the top, the person we were waiting for arrived. They asked me if I wanted them to help me when we left, and I said yes. We checked in for our reservation and were seated in the bar area. It was quite warm inside, so we requested an outdoor table. They allowed me to keep my walker next to me instead of whisking it away like most other restaurants do. We ordered the 40 oz. Tomahawk steak, mashed potatoes, large french fries, Brussels sprouts with bacon and the petite wedge salad. I asked about the sides' portion sizes, whether they were large enough to share with 4 people, and was told the salad could be split with 2 people and everything else can feed 4 people. The sides came out, and that salad can only feed one person. I pretended that I didn't like bleu cheese so that my mom could have it. We ordered another large french fries, and the rest of the sides comfortably fed 2-3 people. I think I should've been more specific about the size of the people to be fed. The tomahawk arrived, and the sizzling of the plate heralded its arrival. All of the other diners' heads turned and watched the show as it was sliced. It was delicious. I read about dessert here on Yelp!, but our server didn't even offer or ask if we were interested in dessert. We were given the check, so we paid and left. I left a bit disappointed because it was a special occasion. We did call the building manager who came back out to operate the elevator so I wouldn't need to climb down the steps. The taste and presentation of the food was great. I think I would've liked larger portions or more accurate description of their size, especially since food portions everywhere else we'd been eating was so large and generous that we always had leftovers for the next meal/day. The restaurant ambiance was nice, but casual, no need to dress up. I'll be honest when I say I was ready to give only 3 stars that night. I was really peeved about how much work it was to get into the building, and how tired I was-- part of my experience. I did fix my attitude to try and rescue the evening since it was a special occasion, and the food tastes better when you have a better mindset. Thankfully, I waited a couple of days before writing this to focus on the food and experience. Accessibility notes: Elevator available to get you to the first level of the building from the street, but you will need to contact someone to contact the building manager. The building is older and was retrofitted to meet compliance, but expect to have patience to wait for someone to help you. The rest room is located in the bar which is near the entrance. The doors were cumbersome to navigate with a mobility aid. There are 2 doors to pass through to the women's restroom. The handicap accessible stall is immediately to the right of the entrance. The rest of the stalls and sinks are past the handicap stall on the right. There is another door that lets you exit the restaurant from the bathroom. The interior of the restaurant was warm and stuffy to me. If you are sensitive to warmer temperatures, ask to be seated outdoors for a refreshing breeze. read more

The Aloha Supper comes with the Petit Wedge Salad for first starter. I don't normally eat veggies/salad, but this one was good, and I actually finished my share. 2nd starter was stuffed portobello mushroom, and we order the hamachi poke and bone marrow on side. The evening was kinda chilly so it was kinda cold but that was my fault for not bringing a sweater along =P We all got Dry Aged Ribeye. Mine was perfectly cooked. Super tender and juicy. Located on the first floor of Marine Surf Waikiki, the atmosphere is relaxed, casual and welcoming. Seated on their outside terrace on a beautiful evening, we shared a bone-in ribeye along with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The tender juicy meat was among the best we've had anywhere, including fancy steak houses that don't offer the same Aloha atmosphere. Potatoes were light and fluffy, just wonderful. Our server Loreal was very friendly despite a packed restaurant, and Jeff chatted with us amiably while he sliced our steak. We didn't have a reservation, and I would say that the only meh moment was how I felt we were treated when we didn't have one. The 'we can try to squeeze you in' when you can see multiple free tables always feels a little weird. But all of that went away as soon as we were seated. Our server was amazing. Probably one of the best we have ever had. We told Ikaika we were new to the island and he gave us recommendations for everything! He gave suggestions of the menu and we ended up having an amazing time. We both got steaks and drooled over every bite. For dessert we couldn't decide so we got both the watermelon sorbet over Cocoa Puffs, and the Kona coffee crème brûlée. Then they surprised us with a little brownie for our anniversary. We stopped here for a nice dinner, and everything we had was outstanding--the steak, the drinks, and the service were all absolutely amazing. The bartender even recommended their sister location across the hallway, which was just as fantastic. We enjoyed it so much that we went back specifically for the food and drinks. Not what I was expecting I returned to Aloha Steakhouse because I had such a wonderful experience last time I went. Sadly, this was not the case this time. It took some time for our server to help us. I had no place to put my purse. Other ladies were given a basket for their purse but I was never offered one. I went with a friend and we wanted to order the tomahawk for two. Our server informed us that they were out of those and tried to get us to get the most expensive tomahawk on the menu. We knew it was too big for both of us so we took another look at the menu. We ended up going with their dinner special. The steak itself was dry and not very flavorful. A wedge salad was included. It was good, but I wouldn't order it again. The stuffed mushroom was okay. Also lacked flavor. Our server was nice and attentive with our drinks and service. Came here for the first time and the place itself is nice with ample outdoor seating. Service was attentive and friendly but the overall quality of the steak lacked and wasn't what I had expected. From a mile away you can smell the steak which is what enticed us to try it in the first place but I didn't find the meat to be tender or flavorful enough for a restaurant specializing in steak. The lobster mac had 1-2 pieces of lobster and wasn't mixed it but just placed on top and it was cooked in truffle oil which wasn't listed on the menu. However, staff replaced it with a new one but as warned by staff it would take longer to get it replaced. Overall price is decent for the amount of food but I definitely wished the steak we had was more higher quality in flavor and texture read more

This meal was top notch! My favorite out of our vacation in Hawaii! I got the pork belly appetizer to start. Phenomenal! Salty and fatty;) For the main I ordered the ribeye with a bone marrow side. It was a steak house so I went all in on the meats! Unfortunately I was too stuffed to even attempt any dessert. That was the only real downside. Oh and the side of corn was dried out and hard to eat? I wish they would have just left the corn whole. It makes it so much easier to hold and consume. Great spot. So glad we found this place. We were seated pretty quickly not very packed and we sat on the covered patio part. We ordered a picanha steak on a steaming hot plate where the server cut up the meat for us at the table. Cool presentation. The steak was seasoned well.
