Great dining evening. Greeted as soon as we opened the door and seated right away. Our drink order was taken and drinks came out quick. Nice group of young waiters working, very friendly and helpful. My wife ordered the 2 item bento box and I ordered 2 different sushi rolls. Miso soup came out hot and tasty and came with the bento box. Our dinners came out and did not disappoint! Very flavorful and fresh tasting sushi. So good I actually ordered another roll... Yes I ate 3 rolls, dont judge me. The salad in the bento box was chilled and crisp with a flavorful dressing. The beef and chicken both had a nice grill flavor and the rice was a large scoop of hot fresh sticky goodness. We were offered refills on our drinks and asked if everything tasted good and if we needed anything else. Sometimes its the little things that also make for a pleasant experience like ordering extra teriyaki and low sodium soy sauce with our order and actually getting them.. bonus points especially if you have ever dined at the sushi spot in the palladio then you know what I mean.. will definitely return. read more

The worst place aver. Me and my wife have never eaten at a place with a worser customer service then this place. Sushi was OK the rice was dry and the water tasted like pure chlorine. I can no longer give 5 stars just because over time, they've gotten rid of many of their specials or have placed many restrictions on them. The service and food have gotten worse. Overall it's still a decent value, but it's nothing that makes them stand out anymore. It's a shame that many of these sushi places like this one and Blue Nami start out very good, but then get worse over time, but I guess that's the way it goes. read more

Have been going to Aloha for about two years now and yes, their service is going down hill. Slow to take orders, bring drinks and the bill so don't be in a hurry. As far as the food goes I gotta say it's not bad! Love the 50 percent off, haven't got sick yet! I do think they are cutting corners by understaffing, which is a shame they could be a lot busier if their customers felt a little more appreciated. read more

I used to frequent this restaurant regularly. I havent been in a year or so but decided to try it again. The prices are still good as everything on the menu is 50% off however the food was not as good as I remembered. Got the BBQ Albacore which was ok but it was hard to find the albacore amongst the sauce. I got a Happy roll(pretty much a california roll with salmon on top and a lemon cream sauce), a spicy tuna roll, and some Salmon Negeri which were all just ok. I also got a Terriyaki Bento Box which was not very good. The Tempera was heavy and more like a hush puppy. The CA roll was probably the worst CA roll ever, no avo and barely a spreckle of crab. The terriyaki chicken was average but to be fair, its hard to mess up terriyaki chicken and its also hard to make it amazing. Overall, it was better than supermarket sushi but it was nothing great. For $28 I got a terriyaki bento box, happy roll, spicy tuna roll, and a order of BBQ albacore. Call me fat, but I was unsatisfied and hungry after i finished. read more

This place changed ownership in January. Food is excellent and the owner and sushi chef is very nice. He let us know we could request rolls not on the menu and even gave my boyfriend a complimentary couple of pieces. We will definitely be back! read more

This was our first visit to Aloha Sushi, and we have never experienced greater customer service!! We were seated promptly, received our delicious food in no time, and the owner checked in on us frequently to make sure we had the best experience. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is pleasant, the staff is friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. We will come back again and again. the sushi was average at best and we experienced the worst customer service we have ever had at "Any" restaurant EVER!!! 1st the owner, the smartass sushi chef always in the middle of the sushi bar, tried to charge us for a roll we didn't even like and barely touched, but then he proceeded to call me an "ASSHOLE" for not wanting to pay for it when the bill came. Do yourself a favor, go eat sushi at a place where your business is appreciated. These people expect your business, but they definitely don't value it. read more

We have had several great experiences here. The Fire Fire roll is one of the best rolls i have ever had. Good service and decor.

This place is terrible!!!! The service was very slow and the food was disgusting. A friend of mine ordered the Fire Fire, which has fire around it, and the fire fuel was in the roll!! When the older lady was confronted she denied what we said!! She claimed we were lying just because we were teenagers! SUPER unfriendly and said the best she could do was take off $2. My friend ended up paying $20 for a bill that should have been $7. Don't waste any of your money here unless you want to be ignored and talked down upon! read more

I have to disagree with some of these reviews. I have been going to them for sometime now, and my friends and I always have great service. I agree that sometimes the sauce is too heavy, and the rolls can be too loose. But, their prices are good for what you get. And, they're close to work and school!! read more

In all was manageable, I received extremely poor service with the staff there, I was insulted and will never be returning here again, there portion sizes are those equivalent to a toddler meal, I had a problem with my meal and they did not even want to offer me something else . read more

Kind of torn on this one, the half off deal sounds good I suppose, but there are quite a few Sushi places doing the 1/2 off deal now & it seems to me that the original prices (before 1/2 off) are super inflated. My wife & I tried this place for dinner last night and had four rolls between us, our bill came to $30.00 at half off, this means 4 rolls would be $60.00 at normal prices... I have NEVER paid that much anywhere and it was a bit over priced at $30.00. Now as far as the food goes, well, we both were impressed. Aloha sushi does put a different spin on thier rolls that we don't normally see, each roll we ordered had some sort of tropical fruit included inside the roll, (we had one with Orange, one with Mango, and one with Pineapple) and the fourth roll had no rice, it was different, but good (a little hard to eat with chop sticks, it falls apart too easy without the rice) It was a good meal, but we felt the rolls were on the small side & we left still kind of hungry (normally we would both be full with 2 rolls each) We will go back & try the Bento boxes just to see if it's a better deal, but don't venture too far out of your way to try this place, there are many better places with better pricing. read more

I've been here a few times in the past and haven't had an issue till now. Tonight the fish in the rolls was absolutely DISGUSTING. It tasted like it was several days old and needed to be thrown away in the trash. The service was AWFUL. Our server kept acting like she didn't speak English and couldn't understand what we were saying. I took one bite of a dish I ordered, and the taste didn't appeal to my taste buds, so I asked if I could swap for something else. The server said to me, "Oh sure, you can order 'nother thing, but you pay for that [pointing at the nasty heap of gummy fish on my plate that tasted like utter ass]" We voice our complaints when we promptly got up to get our check and leave, and the two servers, again looked at us like they didn't understand what we were saying, looked at each other, and then shrugged. Wow... just wow. Luckily I had a gift certificate for this place, because no way in hell I was going to actually pay money for this shit. DO NOT GO HERE! Blue Nami in the Palladio is good, but you're gonna have to deal with a bunch of young, teeny-bopper Folsom yuppies. I recommend Mikuni on Hazel or Taka's in Fair Oaks. Screw Aloha. read more

actually a 3.5 stars because like the other reviews the service and owners are cool people. were promptly seated and waited on, no rushing and decent menu. this was during lunch btw. ordered a bento box with chicken katsu, tempura and sashimi. we also ordered a roll with snow crab, avocado and spicy tuna w/sauce. order came out quickly, but the food came out before the sushi. the sashimi could have been cut a little thicker and the slices seemed as if they may have been sitting out for a bit to long. the katsu was tender and good, but the panko was a little thicker then i usually like but still flavorful. the tempura batter was to thick, half the shrimp i had was batter so this makes me think twice about ordering the tempura. the sushi roll was good. had good flavor and the pieces of seafood were good sized. but, like most places, the mayo based special sauced over powered the roll. after i took a lot of it off, the roll was really good and flavorful. the prices were average, the decor was average, service was really good. i will try it again during dinner time, as other people i know who have been here during that time have had good experiences. read more
