3 Rib plate, comes with 2 sides. I chose potato salad and Collard Greens Rib Dinner
    Brandy E.

I don't know where to start... we all ordered ribs. The guys ordered half slabs and couldn't finish. I ordered the 3 rib plate and couldn't finish. The food was the best I've had in a while!!!! I sampled the okra and had to order my own to have left overs. I ordered my sauce on the side and dipped my ribs. Collard greens & potato salad were good. LOVED the RIBS!!! We will definitely be back! I think I'll try the catfish next time, but it maybe hard because the ribs were so good.

    Ribs, fried okra, and collards.

I was disappointed with this. The sides were terrible. It was the first time ever I couldn't finish my collards, which I love. The ribs were meaty and cooked well, but the sauce was overpowering. Just too tangy. The whiting bites were really good though. I'd rather give it 2 and half stars, but it is what it is.

    Rip tips

The rib tips were delicious. The friendly service wasa fresh welcome. The location and seating was good, but I took my order to go. I will be a regular.

    Rib Tips Dinner

Delicious food and great service. Meat tender and juicy, side items very tasty. Will definitely be back.

2 pieces of Catfish with hush puppies.

I previously gave them 5 stars. This time I could only give them 2 stars. Those 2 stars are for customer service alone. The cashier and women who bagged my food were great and personable. The food however was another story. The catfish was undercooked and extremely salty. I prayed all night that I didn't get sick from eating it. The Mac and Cheese was bland and noodles were very over cooked and mushy. The collard greens looked great but one bite felt like I took a swig of salt straight from the shaker. My daughter's ribs were hit or miss. Some pieces were tough and dried out. Some pieces were "okay", but flavorless. We literally tossed both whole trays in the garbage. The only thing she ate were the fries and the Texas toast. The only thing I ate was the hush puppies and Texas toast. I had a side of cheese grits too and tossed it as well. It too was flavorless. $44+ down the drain. I hate to give bad reviews, but I have to be honest.

Really wanted some fried fish and I always pass this place but never stopped to eat there until now. I ordered the 2 piece whiting fish dinner. It came with 2 sides and hush puppies and a drink for $11. My sides were potato salad and baked beans and they were immaculate! The entire meal was delicious, even to the lemonade and sweet tea. They were very nice too. Definitely going back soon!

I'll skip the hardships finding the place. I'll just say ... location, location, you need a better location. The Ribs were tasty, massively meaty, and butt ugly. Still, I'd eat them again and again. These are Ribs you pull apart with your fingers in layers. As for the sides they both were a little on the sweet side though better than most.

3 Smoked Whole Chix Wings Dinner 1 Piece Catfish Only Potato Salad

i just want to start by saying i do not leave reviews! negative or positive i just do not. i couldnt finish my food without leaving one for the lovely man who helped me order my food. the cook/cashier was super friendly and helpful, customer service all around AMAZING. This was my first time trying them and i knew the food was going to be good by the look from outside, it definitely gives mom and pop shop. I ordered 3 smoked whole wings, a piece of fried catfish, okra, mac and cheese, & potato salad and my total was roughly $25. i have ZERO complaints about any of my food, everything was delicious 9/10 and higher. the only thing i can say is out of everything on my plate the mac and cheese was regular & i really wish i asked for bbq sauce for my wings that were basically getting naked for me. I will definitely be back for me.

I ordered the 3 piece whiting meal with 2 sides. The fish was pretty good, not bad, I'd give it a (A-). The beans were very good, not too much BBQ sauce flavor. (A+) On the other hand...The greens were not good to me AT ALL . I know they're canned greens, but those were just not my favorite, they tasted vinegary (D-) Their Homemade Tea is actually Arnold Palmer. It was good but it caught me off guard and was sweet sweet. (B-) Also, Im not a tartar sauce with my seafood kind of person, I prefer cocktail or hot sauce so when I asked the lady at the counter for some she looked at me crazy. And said "Oh No I Don't Have That!".... so FYI they don't cater to the cocktail sauce fans...Overall everything was good. I'm would try this place again.

I knew I had to stop at Cowboy's BBQ after I passed it a few times while looking at houses in Covington. Some of the best food that you'll find anywhere is often attached to a gas station. The good reviews and smells made me certain this was going to be great. At first glance, prices are amazing [more on this later...]. I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs, and smoked chicken. I chose fries and mac n cheese for my sides. The mac n cheese carried an upcharge, but this is reasonably common for places to do. I agree with the one diner who said the brisket was amazing. I really enjoyed the brisket. The fries were also fine thanks how are you? Wish I had more good to say about this place. The ribs were very old and mediocre at best. I understand that food can't be cooked to order at a barbecue place, but even barbecue has a shelf life. The ribs that I was served should've long been chopped into a stew special or something along those lines. The smoked chicken was a disgusting insult. At first, I thought I was mistakenly served an additional side instead of smoked chicken. Unfortunately, their service style is off the bone and finely diced. Storing barbecue meats off the bone is a delicate process. You have to take extra care to ensure that it doesn't dry up in the hot box. Unfortunately, no care was taken, so the chicken was dry and tasteless. The mac n cheese was very low quality. I'll happily pay an upcharge for the good stuff that's baked. I'll grudgingly eat Kraft mac n cheese. I will not pay an upcharge for Kraft mac n cheese. Honestly, all of this would've made the experience probably worth 2 or even 3 stars, but they have an incredibly dishonest, unadvertised upcharge for credit cards. The surcharge is definitely higher than their cost to accept credit cards. Some businesses eat the cost of accepting credit cards. Other businesses pass this cost to the customer. Cowboy BBQ uses this as an opportunity to improve their margins by cheating their customers.

Tonight we made our way to The Social Goat in Covington, Georgia. Before we even get to the food,…read morethis is the kind of restaurant that has a personality all its own. Goat-themed artwork is scattered throughout the restaurant, including some fun paintings that immediately caught our attention. The atmosphere feels more like a cozy tavern than a traditional taco restaurant, with dark wood, booths, and a comfortable setting that invites you to settle in and stay awhile. One interesting piece of local history is the building itself. We learned that in 1906, this building housed an antique market. Think about that for a moment. If someone was selling antiques here in 1906, some of those "antiques" might have been from the 1800s. More than a century later, the building is still serving visitors, although these days the focus is tacos rather than antiques. Covington itself is worth mentioning. The city has become known as Georgia's Hollywood of the South, with more than 100 movies and television productions filmed here over the years. Fans of The Vampire Diaries and Sweet Magnolias will recognize many locations around town. If you're visiting the area, there is plenty to see before or after dinner. Our server for the evening was Jordan, who provided friendly service throughout the meal. The menu features eleven different taco varieties, which immediately created a dilemma. Narrowing the choices down to just three was not easy. We ultimately chose the Fried Fish Taco, the Philly Taco, and the Sesame Ribeye Taco. The tacos are available as a trio, allowing you to sample three different varieties on one platter. The meal also came with chips, salsa, and queso, making it easy to share and compare flavors. Let's start with the Fried Fish Taco because it ended up being my favorite of the three. The fish itself had excellent flavor and was cooked just right. The taco was topped with a sauce that brought a unique flavor to the experience, and the crunchy slaw added texture that worked beautifully with the fish. Every component contributed something to the overall bite. This was the taco that surprised me the most and ultimately earned the top spot in my personal ranking. The Philly Taco finished a very close second. If you're a fan of Philly cheesesteaks, you'll immediately understand the appeal. Loaded with shaved ribeye, peppers, onions, and cheese, it delivered exactly the flavors I was hoping for. It was rich, satisfying, and packed with flavor. Sometimes simple combinations work for a reason, and this taco proved that point. The Sesame Ribeye Taco was the most unique of the three. The sesame-soy flavor was bold and immediately noticeable. I enjoyed the flavor profile and appreciated that it took the taco in a different direction than what I typically experience. Rather than trying to imitate a traditional taco, it offered something distinct and memorable. Anyone looking for a creative twist on a taco will likely find this one especially interesting. One thing I appreciated about the trio platter was the opportunity to compare very different flavor profiles side by side. The Fried Fish Taco offered a balance of fish, sauce, and crunch. The Philly Taco delivered familiar comfort-food flavors. The Sesame Ribeye Taco brought a bold and unique flavor profile to the table. Each taco had its own personality, which made the comparison part of the fun. The chips were crisp, the salsa was fresh, and the queso provided a nice complement to the tacos. Combined with the trio platter, it was more than enough food for a satisfying meal. The Social Goat manages to be more than just a taco stop. Between the historic building, the goat-themed decor, the welcoming tavern atmosphere, and a menu filled with creative options, it offers an experience that stands out from the typical restaurant visit. If we return, and there is a good chance we will, there are still eight taco varieties left for us to investigate. The Social Goat Tavern 1115 Church Street Covington, GA 30014
