Excellent food, great service. I reasonaly moved to this side of town. I notice the building but has never taking the time to stop by. Well i picked the right day. I later found out that they do not keep Brisket on the daily menu. Today they had Brisket and it was perfect. Most places can smoke meat descent enough to eat but it is rare to find a place that knows how to take the time and do a Brisket correctly. The fish was not fried in corn meal. And the cole slaw didn't taste right. There is not enough room to sit down and eat.

My wife and I are there tonight...I had the pulled pork plate with collards and cole slaw, she had the 3 piece catfish with okra, cheese grits and hush puppies. The pulled pork was excellent. You could tell that it was slow cooked and smoky tender, no sauce was needed. The collards were bursting with flavor and the coleslaw was flavorful and fresh. My wife told me that the catfish was cooked to perfection and the grits were creamy and good. Everything was excellent, down to the sweet tea and lemonade. The owners Van and Darnell were super accommodating and fun to meet. They extend out a welcome to the customers. The fish was fried to perfection. I had the pleasure of sampling their barbecue ribs and OMG, they were a winner as well. I gave this place 4 stars only because the Mac n cheese and collards was good but not great. I have very high standards for those southern sides. I had driven by and smelled the smells of Alpha and Omega many times but didn't have the opportunity to eat there. But with the Quarantine going on I had the opportunity today to order. Also one piece of fish! The fish was fried perfect and the wings were great! I did feel the smoke flavor was a little strong so I don't know if a milder smoke could be requested. The red velvet cake was okay but not worth $5 a slice! Didn't have nuts at all or a red velvet taste. So next time I go I will try the other cake flavors because I will be back! My husband is a hard to please person when it comes to food and we were overjoyed by being able to get some fried fish especially due to the lockdown and they didn't disappoint. We got the family fish dinner with cheese grits and fries. Those grits were so good that the next day they were heated up and still tasted like I got them fresh. The fried swai and potatoe salad were excellent. The mac n cheese was a bit flavorless and unremarkable and the greens tasted straight out the can. While I enjoyed the meatiness and flavor of the ribs..I didn't like that they weren't 3 separate bones but instead melded together ..like hunks of meat I had to eat with a fork. After wasting my hard earned money on Chili's pencil sized boiled tasting so called ribs I needed the real deal. The fried fish was accompanied by 2 sides, collards & mac n cheese. NO COMPLAINTS! We also ordered a rib tips plate. It weighed 10 lbs no lie. I couldn't believe they gave us so much.
