Don't not give them your business!! Don't not give them your business!! The lady that owns this store is a crook!! She overcharged my card for $30 and when I returned to show she had made a mistake she flat out said to my face "call your bank and dispute it". She refused to refund any of the money and sat there while I was on the phone with my bank for an hour with the fraud department getting the payment reversed. I've been into this store endless times over the years and for her to be so rude to a customer for such a small amount of money really upset me. I will never give another dollar tword this business and I make sure to tell everyone I run into about this experience so they think twice before going in and supporting her business. read more

Great food and very friendly staff. We had the carne asda fries, nachos and carne asda tacos. Nachos and fries were large portions and very tasty. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the patio with our dog. read more

Just moved to Alpine. Have been to Alpine taco shop 3 or 4 times. Good value for a breakest burrito or such. Ordered one of thier combo meals, $8.00 or more for a Chili Relano that was the WORST I have ever had. Actually was not even edible, Texture of rope, and tasted worse. Excellent food! Especially the flying saucer. Ate many of them while living in Alpine RV Park in 2000. They also have great breakfast burritos, excellent tacos and were one of the few restaurants that had my favorite, RASPBERRY iced tea! Clean, friendly, affordable and fast service. Definitely my favorite Mexican food joint in alpine, the food is fresh and tastes great. All except for the beef burrito, tasted like beef stew wrapped in a tortilla, huge let down. Everything else is amazing, so I'll let that one slide! read more

I'm amazed by the number of Mexican eateries in small town Apline, 8 places in a community of less than 22,000 people is alot. That being said this place does it better than most others. Driving thru alpine and decided to stop for some Mexican food, heard good things about this place and wanted to give them a try. Well, the place is cute and the food was delicious but my breakfast burrito came with a nice piece of plastic wrap about 3 inches long. Right when I took my first bite! Took about 20 minutes to receive our food (quite long for a "taco shop") and the guy at the register was high as a kite! .... Didn't even offer a refund, they "made" me another in literally 2 mins. Disappointed but they receive 2 stars because the food was very good. Unfortunately, I won't be back though. read more

I've tried about 6 or 7 Mexicans food places and this one is by the best. Everything on the menu is excellent. If you live in Alpine you gotta try this place you won't go anywhere els. The wait can be long so call and order or prepare for a 15 minute wait. Normal for there to always be people there read more

You can throw a rock and hit good Mexican food in alpine (some of the very best in SD county), and Alpine Taco shop is one of the best. I've been going to this place since it opened and it's by far my favorite. Carne Amada burrito, California burrito, beef tacos, and rolled tacos are all a hit. read more

This is easily the best place to get Mexican food in Alpine. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and fresh, and the inside dining is always air conditioned and comfortable. The breakfast burritos are always a great choice, and my only regret is that Alpine Taco Shop isn't open early enough for me to get one before my early job! read more

It's a small hole in the wall, but it's my favorite Mexican restaurant. Anything with their carne asada is amazing. Also, while most Mexican restaurants put some guacamole and cheese on their rolled tacos, the Alpine Taco Shop piles on the guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Everything I've had there is good, but I personally recommend the carne asada tacos, carne asado burrito, rolled tacos, and nacho salad. Their prices have gone up recently but it's still worth it. A dish is round $6 which isn't much different from other places. read more
