Good food, but rude servers & they don't give you an itemized receipt. The server was rude when I sat back down & asked her to explain the way she split the tab. I had been in the bathroom with my child, & when I asked my friends about the tab they where just as confused as me. She wrote three totals down on a piece of paper & circled em. We asked a question & she answered back rudely & said gratuity was included. We didn't care about gratuity being included. We where just confused about the prices bc again, they don't give you an itemized receipt. We asked if after we paid we'd get an itemized receipt she said yes & walked off. But we never did receive one. It just had a total price & gratuity, but no itemized receipt. read more

We've been eating Al's Hamburgers for many years but after tonight, we won't be going back. Hostess seated us at a table that hadn't been cleaned. Not just table but 2 of the 4 chairs had food and crumbs all over them. And the floor looked like a food fight had taken place there. And the wait staff just walked over it. Didn't bother to sweep it up. To top it off, waitress took our order and on her way to the kitchen area coughed twice - and didn't bother to wash her hands. And the hamburger? Looked like a quarter pounder cut in half - the tomato slice was thicker than the hamburger patty. So sad to see an Arlington staple drop to this level. Also no masks, no gloves, no hand sanitizer and tables were wiped down with spray bottle and rag (same rag). read more

The hamburger nachos and double cheese burger tasted amazing. The styrofoam cups make the drinks taste better and I know this sounds weird but it's true! Great quick service and staff. The prices were amazing and the food quality was all there. Kind of a hidden gem here in Arlington and perfect for lunch with the family. Only thing I would have to request they work on is adding different Fries to the menu. I wasn't a fan of homemade fries but very unique compared to any other burger restaurant. I don't like trying new places to eat out at but I certainly don't regret trying this place. I'll be back for more, thanks! read more

Came here for dinner on Saturday and it a good amount of busy. The service was very friendly, fast and food didn't take too long either. I ordered the stuffed burger steak that came with fries and my parents got the al's big burger (with fries) and chicken salad. Being a mom and pop place, I expected to have more home style cooking. The fries were definitely from the frozen kind and they didn't bother to season it much either. Pretty underwelming :\ Everything else was OK, my stuffed burger could've had more marinating. But yay there's ketchup for help! It also came with Texas toast that could've been toasted a way more. Overall service was great but food tasted pretty plain and the fries sucked tbh. read more

I am having trouble with this review. The burger and fries were good....but the restaurant was not clean. The salt shaker had ants crawling in it. Thanks to my Arlington resident coworker for introducing me to this little gem. We were doing a lunch run at work and this place won the vote. Score! With excellent pricing and a hometown this place is a must try. I got a double cheeseburger with everything (I would advise getting veggies on the side), homemade onion rings and a side of chili. After that first bite I knew I would be coming back for more. The burger had a nice griddle taste with grilled onions and a buttery bun. The also have a famous dip called Melodys that is like a queso with sausage crumbled in it, it was pretty good. My company ordered a wide variety of food items with mixed reviews, but I stand firm in my rating and am a fan now. read more

An All-American Burger with an All-Star Staff. Have been frequenting Al's for the last 5 weeks in a row. Having to go at least once a week (Cowboys kept winning every week we ate there had to keep going!). If you are looking for an classic old school burger then you find your place. Every single week I had the double patty melt and it always hit the spot. Yes it is greasy and fatty but hey it was delicious! This is a old school burger after all! But what sets this place over the edge is the service! Tracy and Betty were our waitresses each time and always took care of us. They knew at least 5 of us were going to come in for a few weeks and got us seated quickly even when the place was packed. Realize you are going to smell like a greasy burger after you leave but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. read more

Al's is the best old fashion place to eat I have ever had. The breakfast is so good. I usually get an omelet . If you had a choice , the bacon , mushroom, spinach , Swiss cheese omelet. So good. It comes with hash browns and biscuit and gravy. For lunch I come here all the time to get a big Al's burger with bacon on top. You can taste in the meat that it still tastes like the drive in diner it used to be. Everyone is nice here. The only issue is they are leaving this location in a couple weeks :( the landlord is a jerk who raised their rent . They are moving to a new location I will only be able to go there on weekends so sad . read more

This was my first visit to Al's in many years. The burger I ordered was excellent and just as good as I remembered. The fries were also good, but somewhat limp and greasy. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to go back for the food and service. Unfortunately, the soft drink I ordered was absolutely gross. Either their water line has algae growing in it, or the soda dispenser needs to be thoroughly cleaned. The skunky taste was so overpowering that I had to ask the waitress for something else after only 3-4 sips. I was hesitant to order another soft drink since it probably uses the same water source. Unfortunately, they don't have any bottled or canned drinks. I ended up ordering unsweet tea which tasted okay. My guess is that's because it was made using boiled water. I grew up in Arlington and remember when the city won awards for having the best water supply in the country. Hopefully this was just an aberration and they'll get things cleaned out. As much as I liked the food, I don't see myself returning if I can't get a decent soft drink. read more

Al's has been my favorite burger spot for 30+ years and I would eat there at least once a week. But no more! They refuse to answer the phone & have turned their back on their long time & loyal customers. I have called Al's over a hundred times a week for the last 2 weeks & have gotten their voice mail recording EVERY SINGLE TIME I called. Al is rolling over in grave at the fact that his employees are too lazy to answer the phone. I simply want to pick a burger up on my way home & that is impossible now. I had the mushroom swiss burger, a water, and onion rings. Some of the waitresses are really sweet, but I had one who was very short with us the entire transaction. The mushroom swiss burger's vegetables tasted dirty, the meat was seasoned well, the swiss's flavor was masked by everything else in the burger. Mushrooms were cooked well and were juicy and soft. Onion rings were slightly over-battered and no flavor came through except the onion. Onion rings had some light golden ones and some extremely brown ones. Onion rings were piping hot but the burger was lukewarm. Total came out to $7.50 read more
