Continuously disappointed by the location on 3rd Street. This time they gave us a misshaped pizza with burnt crust that I can't believe they would even let out of the kitchen. It looked like they took an already prepared pepperoni pizza and added some hamburger on top of it because the hamburger was not cooked into the pizza at all. This place does not disappoint. Came here after playing tennis. Cold beer was served and yes, it was good and cold. The wait staff was pleasant and on there toes. My boyfriend ordered manicotti. It came with a side salad which was out as should be before the main entre. Everything in the salad was fresh and crispy. Along with that they served him a huge portion of garlic toast to go with his meal. I ordered a spinach and mozzarella calzone. It was a nice size and the pizza dough or was made with was absolutely excellent. Very scrumptious and half came home for tomorrow. The prices are reasonable and the fact you can either sit on the deck or inside in the a/c is nice. Al's is a definite go to spot for locals and I would totally recommend for anyone visiting our beaches. read more

In a mad hunt for pizza, my family and I ventured out to the beach and pulled up at a local Italian joint... After being turned away from said dining establishment (that apparently does not allow dogs, even on the patio) we back-tracked over to good ol' Al's. Best U turn I ever made. As you might imagine, the place was popping in true Friday night dinner fashion. Luckily they had a space for us on the patio. The server (kicking myself for not writing down her name :( ) approached us right away and took our drink order, closely followed by our food order. The most notable part, which other may see as small, was when the server brought out a separate water for our dog, and a little cup of cheese for her to snack on. I thought that was SO thoughtful, and I highly appreciated it. For being super busy, our food was up pretty quickly and was, as expected, astronomically delicious. The atmosphere was fun and lively out on the patio, which was open and let in a nice ocean breeze. Nice experience, and we'll be back for sure! read more

First time at Al's and I'd say it was a success! Stopped in to eat here because of their patio. I dont eat indoors during all this covid mess. Our server James was super nice! I saw on Yelp that they have a free appetizer offer if you download their app. I asked James about it and he helped me do everything on my phone. He made recommendations about what his favs are. I ordered the buffalo wings and pesto cheese bread to start. The wings were good, but I wish I had ordered them extra crispy. I still enjoyed them nonetheless! The pesto bread was pretty basic. I'm used to some garlicky, super flavorful pesto and I didn't feel like you could really taste anything all that much. I still finished it so that says something! I got the veggie calzone. I love that they use a cornmeal crust with garlic butter smothered all over the top. It was stuffed with veggies like spinach olives peppers broccoli but I will say all of the broccoli in there were stalks. No florets which was a little disappointing but I still enjoyed it. The sauce on the side is really good too. I was super nervous coming here because of the reviews but I wasn't disappointed. They have a really great patio! read more

It was ... just ok. Pizza was tasty but under done ... I'll take the hit on that one ... I could have asked for well done and the pizza was tasty (simple pepperoni and mushroom). Flatbread (Margarita) was also undercooked, the mozzarella was skimpy, cold and hardly melted (definitely wasn't the same flat bread pictured in the menu). Zucchini Fries were very tasty, nice and hot ... but we asked for them to be served first and to put the other order in later so we could relax with our beer and appetizer and enjoy the out doors ... didn't happen ... got everything at once. Beer was nice and cold, outdoor seating was very comfortable. But there are so many great places here in Neptune that 'Ok' doesn't cut it. read more

I grew up going here when it was at its old location. Also started taking my husband and my daughter to the location in St. Augustine. It was a family restaurant that we loved. I went today by myself on a visit to town. Wouldn't recommend. Service was awful. I couldn't find my server for refills on my drink. I ended up eating cold pizza because by the time the server got to me my pizza was cold. Not a pleasurable experience at all read more

Under no circumstances go to Als Pizza for foreseeable future. None, I mean none of the wait staff, kitchen staff, or visible on floor managers were wearing any sort to face masks nor gloves. I know Millennials think the virus is a big joke. As is usually the case, Millennials think of no one but themselves. To go to the effort to wear protection equipment - gloves / masks is asking too much. If you are into self destruction, then visit Al's Pizza. If you are smart enough to "get it", then don't. read more

We ate dinner here the other night and it was good but not exceptional. We got the lasagna dinner with calamari and meatballs. The lasagna dinner was the best part with garlic bread and a salad. But I was disappointed with the meatballs. They could've had better flavor but the sauce was good. Our server did a great job but the atmosphere of the restaurant is just unique. Sitting here an hour and a quarter after making a delivery order to Al's, I discover that my order was canceled a few minutes after I sent it in, with no notice. The site said to look in my email for an explanation, and there is none; my phone has been on all the time, and there was neither a call nor a text message. Al's will never receive an order from me again. They insist upon doing their own delivery, so they can't blame a delivery service. read more

This was a delicious pizza restaurant. We had eaten at the former location-and this one is all that and more. The waiter was helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and accurate. We came in with a group of 14 people and were easily accommodated. If you are looking for delicious pizza and a great atmosphere you must try this Al's location. read more

Really bad take out pizza tonite. Ordered from the Neptune beach and our pesto chicken pizza had very little chicken or cheese and the crust was over-cooked. 2nd time in a row for subpar pizza. This is the first time ordering since new menus were printed. We've ordered the same Deluxe 14" pizza many times. This time it seemed ingredients were different. More black olives, not so much meaty ingredients, like pepperoni. They even stopped putting white paper doily under pie. Will be looking for a new takeout restaurant. Very disappointed. read more

First...it's great to have Al's back at the beach. The "Craft Pizza" idea was nice, but pizzas were smaller, more expensive, and had 'gourmet' ingredients...which were all good, unless you were looking for just a normal pepperoni pizza. We were excited to go back to the "old" Al's. This visit had a few bumps though. I ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and beef pizza. What I got was pepperoni, sausage, and basil. I just thought maybe they had forgotten the beef ("where's the beef!?") and the basil was just something they put on top as a finish. It was after I signed the bill and added the tip that I had noticed "basil" on the receipt as a topping. Next, we ordered stuffed shells to go, to take home for dinner that night. The server told us about halfway into dinner that he had put the order in. Well, after paying the bill (30 minutes after that), he informed us that they were out of the shells. We were able to order something else (for the same price), but we ended up waiting another 20 minutes...after paying the bill...for the manicotti. No offer was made to remunerate our inconvenience, but we don't like to complain, so we didn't say anything either. The pizza was good and most of the staff were friendly...but we will probably stick to Joseph's or DaVinci at the beach. read more

I've enjoyed Al's Pizza for many years but was greatly disappointed on Saturday, 1 August with our pie. Our large deluxe pizza had mostly cheese with very few toppings. Wow! What can I say?! Bruschetta, zeppoles and awesome tasting pizza! This was my first time here and all I can say is if you haven't tried this place, just do it. The place itself is nice and clean, good seating and ample waitresses. Small bar but you also have he option of sitting outside. Across the road from the beaches and super casual atmosphere. I've never left a review before and I only downloaded the app to warn people about this specific place. We ordered online and got a couple pizzas, cheese sticks, and cannolis. The order took almost 3 hours to get to us and multiple phone calls to even figure out what was going on. The driver didn't even have the correct address and then when we finally got the food we didn't even get the whole order. After calling the place again we got hung up on and then they would not pick up our calls but when I called from a different phone they picked up right away. Highly unprofessional and we won't be ordering from here ever again and don't recommend to anyone who is actually hungry. Super upsetting. read more

This is always my go-to/fast pickup healthy place to grab dinner on busy nights. I usually order the chicken Greek salad and I love it. However, I am disappointed with my salad tonight. The tomatoes in my salad were not only NOT FRESH but they were rotten. I hope a manager sees this and makes sure that their produce is fresh. My daughter, grandkids & I went to Al's for the 1st time. We ordered an appetizer & pizza slices. Our hostess & waiter were nice and the place is clean. Our appetizer was given to another table. Ok. Stuff happens. Replacement appetizer arrives & is not great but ok. Then pizza slices come -- except one of the slices is not what we ordered so back it goes and one of us has to wait for her pizza which does not arrive until the rest of us are done. We had to stack our appetizer plates to make room for pizza & no one took them away. Al's did give us a free extra slice but the pizza, like the appetizer, was just ok...nothing special. read more

My husband and I have frequented the new Al's multiple times. We loved the new mozzarella salad but everything else was just mediocre. The Mushroom pizza actually upset my stomach. Way too oily. With all of the other wonderful pizza places in the area we decided that we would just skip the new Al's from now on. We decided to give them another shot because we heard they went back to their original formula. Needless to say we did not even have the opportunity to try it. We checked in with the hostess and she said there would be a little bit of a wait. We were fine with that but when asked how long it would be she couldn't give us an answer. We thought we will take a chance and be patient and wait. There was only one couple ahead of us. Here's where the problem arises. There's no place to wait. So we decided to grab a drink from the bar but we were treated very rudely. We just wanted to grab a drink and not sit at the bar. The bartender promptly told us that some one was sitting in the chair that we were standing close to. We could clearly see that a beer glass was next to another patron and had no intentions of taking the seat we just wanted a drink. The whole vibe on the restaurant was RUDE and unwelcoming. We waited 30 minutes for a seat. While a party of two that came in behind us was sat at a four top that our party of three could have used. We left to go to Da Vinci's. DONT GO HERE. Service and food was absolutely horrible. I don't even know how this place is still running....and our server Courtney charged us for ranch? Like that should be complimentary. Not to mention, she took forever to take our order and grab us our check but the people next to us who came later were served better and were out the door before us...she didn't even bother to ask us how things were or refill our drinks...we were the last people in the restaurant and everyone else was out before us. The calamari was dry and tasted like cardboard, no flavor at all. The garlic dipping sauce looked like puke. The pizza was seriously THEE WORST pizza I've ever had. It was cold, and did not look appetizing. Mozzarella sticks were pretty bland as well. I'm really disappointed, I remember ALS used to be so good idk what happened but what I'm even more appalled by is the awful service. Terrible service. Waited 20 minutes just to get water and have our order taken. Pizza arrived 40 minutes later. It was cold. Never saw a waiter the whole evening. Pizza was soggy and cold. AND it was less than half full. Not even a busy evening. read more

Over the holidays, we decided to order Al's Pizza for our large family. I called in 4 pizzas and was told to pick them up in 30 minutes. When I got there 30 minutes later, I was told they were coming out in a few minutes. 15 minutes later, I was told they were being cut and boxed. A few minutes later, the manager ( Jason?) said my ticket had been lost and the order was moved to the front of the line so it would be awhile as they cooked the pizzas. He offered to comp our pizzas, which I accepted, and then bought my husband and me a drink as we waited. The manager and staff turned what could have been a very frustrating experience into a positive with the apology and free pizza. The pizzas were fresh, hot and delicious for the entire family. read more
