The bent spoon always commands that kind of line and is always worth the wait. In addition to their rotating flavors, they also have pints for sale, some baked goods, and even some hot chocolate (in the colder months)! The ice cream itself is perfectly rich and creamy, with a great consistency. The flavors are always unique, but not unwelcome. I always make a point of trying to stop in whenever I'm in the area. Just don't be deterred by the line: It's worth it.

The shop itself is very small with extremely limited seats (if any) so plan to walk around town while you enjoy your ice cream. They have their usual standard flavors, and several seasonal ones that rotate. They allow samples so I'd recommend trying out their rotating flavors even if it sounds like something you normally wouldn't go for. They can make just about anything taste good!

Can't go to Princeton without getting Thomas Sweet…read more It was great in the 80s and is still great now. You come here for blend ins, the cream if freshly made and good on its own but get a blend in. It's why they are famous. Amaretto ice cream with Heath bars. Amazing. Blending Heath bars is so underrated. Chocolate cookies & cream with Reese's peanut butter cups was fantastic. Going cookies & cream is like getting a second blend in for free - don't tell anyone. There are two other very good ice cream spots in Princeton and a third new one that looks interesting but if you are getting just one don't miss out on Thomas Sweet. Small seating inside, fun carnival mirror that makes you look short and fat (not ideal before getting your ice cream) - plenty of benchs outside. Service always friendly.

TS's since we were in high school…read moreback in the 80's, through college and for several years after, until we moved to Lexington, MA. Though we live several states away, we still go to TS's every time we're in Princeton. The ice cream is good, but not great -- we get our best ice cream in Narragansett, RI. BUT the blend-ins are the best anywhere. TS's has machines that evenly blend in items like heath bars or M&M's into your ice cream which results in unique flavors tailored to your liking. It's a treat like no other, and the only reason to go to TS's. It's literally a waste of your time to go to TS's and get anything other than a blend in. We kind of feel sorry for people that don't get blend-ins. The current owner, however, could do a better job keeping the place cleaner and neater, and making some capital investments to spruce up the shop and repair the middle blend in machine. There's a run-down feeling about the shop that was never there the first few decades that we were going to the shop. This is a local gem and we will still go as often as we can -- indeed, my wife and I keep a frequent visitor card and use it all the time.

After a few bites I just threw it in the grass because it was barely edible. Just ate the sprinkles off of it and chucked it.

What a sweet delight as I walked by and saw the words that make my heart beat faster: Cookies!!…read more Upon entering, you get hit with all your senses. Your nose smells all those freshly baked goods. Your eyes dance with delight as you see brownies, cookies, and drinks (psst, they serve more than just milk). Ohhhh the smells of all that wonderful goodness! You can hear the patron's joy as they bite into their edibles. Finally, the taste as you bite into your cookie or brownie. After our senses finally calmed down, Hubby and I got down to business. After purchasing and sharing several cookies and brownies between us, we both favored their original brownies the most. It was not overly sweet and tasted like Devil's Food cake but in a brownie, instead. Delectable! Each cookie is $2.75 but if you purchase 12 cookies, you save $3 and pay $30. The Big Brownie is $4.50 and worth every penny! The shop is cozy and takes you back in a time to be in one of those wonderful sitcom kitchens where you expect a mom to come out and just treat you with warm baked cookies after a hard day. No need to have a hard day to get these yummies. It is on the main strip on Nassau Street. They have bistro tables for you to stay and enjoy or you can take them to go.
