Visited this location on Friday July 1st, we were in luck because it was mariachi night. My personal opininon is....this is a hidden gem! The service and food is fantastic! Everything we ordered was very fresh and seasoned to perfection! The drinks are cold, the staff is polite and personable. We ordered the guacamole, mixed civiche, the shrimp tacos and a Diablo shrimp plate. The food presentation is on point too! The food is top notch, I hope more people take a moment to give them business because it is hard to stay afloat if people do not know how great the food truly is...if you like fresh tasting food give them a try! read more

Thank you to the staff at Alta Mar, you all were absolutely wonderful! We made a reservation for 20 to celebrate a first communion. Everyone from the restaurant was very attentive and helpful with whatever we needed. When we got there at 1 there were not a lot of people but the dining area began to fill up and as we left at 3 the place was getting full. We started with the Mango ceviche and the chicharrón de pescado as appetizers. The mango ceviche was tasty but I expected a little more spice but no worries the salsa verde added the little punch I was looking for. The chicharrón de pescado was a hit for everyone, especially the kids because it's a nice finger good. As for mains, there was a wide variety ordered. Everything from fajitas and carne asada to fish tacos. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered and we heard compliments all around and lots of "we have to come back". I personally tried the mixed fajitas, tacos gobernador, and stuffed filet with chipotle sauce (recommended by the server). Each of the plates were large so go easy on appetizers. The fajitas were good, tacos gobernador were very tasty, but the stuffed filet was delicious. By far my favorite of everything I tried. This is a pretty solid seafood place. The crawfish was amazing and with the garlic sauce man I've eaten a lot of crawfish in this town but wow. I also tried the bacon wrapped shrimp and it was great and I dip the one I tried in the garlic sauce and it was so good. read more

I am always on the hunt for really good ceviche. This place is located on Shaenfield next to Dunkin' Donuts. We walked in and sat ourselves. We came on a Sunday evening. They had mariachis for entertainment. Chips and a small portion of ceviche and salsa were severed as we looked at the menu. I was wanting ceviche so we decided on the small portion of mixed ceviche, a small shrimp and octopus cocktail and 1/2 dozen prepared oysters. The flavor of mixed ceviche was decent. We still can't figure out what it was missing. The oysters were not my favorite. I always get oysters anywhere I go even prepared but these I just didn't care for the flavor. I was so happy to see a new seafood restaurant estilo nayarit near our home and it did not disappoint!!! The food was delicious, fresh, and authentic Mexican seafood!!! We ordered the lobster al gusto, it feeds 2 to 3 people its a big plate and it's very tasty!! We also ordered ceviche and a salmon dish which was very light but very delicious! What a pleasant surprise this place was. Small and inviting interior. We were seated right away and staff was welcoming and nice. That's all well and good, but the real surprise was the food. The whole snapper is a must! We got it with the butter/garlic sauce which I highly recommend. The fish was cooked perfectly, the skin crispy and combined with the sauce was absolutely delicious. It's definitely enough for two. However, we did also try the paella which was very good in its right, with a decent variety of seafood, of course would have loved a little more crab and shrimp but I'm not picking now. I enjoy this place every time. The staff is very nice and pleasant. The restaurant is always clean. It's a good spot for having a few beers or whatever and then eating some fresh seafood. It's also great for if you've already had a few and need some fried fish or something. As soon as you sit, you are given a lovely bowl of ceviche to start. The portions are large. The menu is pretty stacked and I've tried maybe a quarter of it and nothing has disappointed. If they ever start making some homemade chips, it'll be even better. Glad I found this spot. read more

Free Ceviche app is delicious and a great starter. Have been here 3-4 times before and have always ordered the Empanizado (Fried Breaded Fish & Shrimp). Not a fan of their shrimp so this day (Wednesday lunch) I asked to just have the fish. Again, the fried fish was really good, hot & fresh. Plate comes with white rice, mixed Cali veggie blend (Broccoli, Cauliflower and Carrots) and fries. Veggies could use more than a quick warm up - something to kick them up a bit, too bland. Service was exceptional! Went to go pay at the counter and my waitress asked if I had been there before and if so, what was my favorite plate.
