Alta Dena Express Bakery is an Armenian Bakery and Café that serves cakes, desserts, sandwiches, salads and pizzas. I came here with my niece because she was in the mood for some desserts and wanted to bring some home for her brother and sister. I wished we hadn't eaten breakfast prior because I would've loved to try their sandwiches and pizzas. I'm not entirely sure if they still sell sandos because the prices are crossed off the menu list. I will come back not just for the delicious sweets and spinach Borek but, for the pizza, salads and sandwiches. Update... They have amazing pizzas, I get their veggie. They also do great chicken sandwiches and their pastries are wonderful. Nice people working there and prices are very reasonable. Only negative is they charge a credit card fee. read more

The desserts were good but not great (not worth the $10 price tag) with the only exception being the Ferrero Roche one which was outstanding. They were attentive and polite but I do think there is a sinage issue they need to address as they seem to use a ticket system to help you and instead of the ticket puller being right when you walk in, it's located right next to the register which makes it hard to get to if people are already there trying to pay. The pizza was excellent - we had the Armenian pizza which was delicious and definitely enough for 2-3 people for a small. Will probably return to try their hot honey pizza because that one looked good too. read more

When you enter you are in the food prep area. Go left down to the bakery to place your food orders. It is clearly marked with sign, some people just don't pay attention. The staff are all kind and welcoming. Very clean inside. They do have a few tables to eat out side. My absolute favorite is the cakes. I had the chocolate cake just the right amount of sweetness. I arrived at to the bakery today at around 11:20am. You have to grab a ticket to order so I did and waited. From the start everything was out of order with one person working on drinks and the other taking orders with the bread. They'd alternate in an unsuccessful way leaving one station empty most of the time meaning the drinks or bread are not coming out adequately. Now I mention this because there is immense lack of communication. When it was my turn I ordered a strawberry matcha I saw they advertised on Tik Tok. The lady agreed and I waited...and waited...and waited. 20 minutes went by with many customers getting their orders done. All those people were being took care of with no one working on my matcha. Eventually a new lady appeared and asked for my order. I said I was waiting on my strawberry matcha which she then asks the other 2 workers where it's at. I was craving a sandwich for lunch today and wanted to try something new in the area, so I decided to come by here for the first time. I ordered Dav's Suprami (pastrami) sandwich and omggg it was ridiculously good! I can even say that it's one of the best pastrami sandwiches I've ever had. The pastrami was thin-cut, which is how I like it, and it paired so well with all of the toppings and sauce in the sandwich. The bread was also really good; it was perfectly toasted and had a nice crisp to it. I was surprised that it came in such a huge portion..but even more surprised that I finished the whole thing all in one sitting lol! It was that good. Overall, I'd really recommend this place for their sandwiches. I saw that they also offer a variety of desserts, pastries, drinks, pizzas, and salads, so I definitely would like to come back to try them. Parking is also super easy around the area! read more

We entered the door on the right and the first thing was the kitchen/oven as I was trying to figure out where was i, the kitchen staf rudely pointed us to the left side where the bakery was. At first, I thought maybe it was a different restaurant that shared the same location(bufet kinda deal), but I was surprised when they learned it was the same location. Then cringe started. I ordered fries since I was on lent, and they had nothing else lent appropriate. My colleague who also ordered fries, and another colleague who called and asked us to g d t them what we got. So we ordered 3 fries. Mind it, we were on a lunch break so yes, fast and easy lunch was what we were looking for. After trying to check the time for food to be ready, the personal replied, "you are not alone! 10-15minutes." We waited and waited, approximately 15 minutes later checked and rudely told not yet. Then another colleague who came checked the status and it was ready. Remember the 3 fries? Yes, we got fries in ONE to go box. We are not family, didn't ask for a one place for all kinda deal.... Anywhere, if my coworkers gave them the benefit of a doubt, I give this place 1 star as it was my first and last time entering it. Give your personal some basic customer service lessons! Yes, we ordered fries (each fry $8+Tax and I do tip!) But, no matter what is ordered, remember the customer can buy a $1 item once, and come back for the $10000000 worth later. read more

I decided to go here on a Saturday morning, (August 2025) myself, husband and 2 friends and we were excited to go, it took us 50 min to get here. And when we arrived we were the only ones that were there, it was around 10-30-11am, there were 2 lady's behind the counter, a girl making a coffee and another woman on the phone. We walked in smiled and we all made eye contact, so they knew we were there, however, they ignored our presence, and that happened for a good 7 minutes minimum, they both continued doing what they were doing, which we understand, HOWEVER, when customers walk in at the very least great them!! It's called customer service, and they lacked it. They could have said, "be with u in just a minute" we got nothing. A man walked in minutes after us and he was attended before us. Then they finally said can I help? I thought (duh!) We've been standing here. Anyways for the sake of keep the peace we said nothing and ordered our parties and sat outside. We now wanted to put in am order for their hot foods, sanwhiches, pizzas etc, so I go inside where they have the ovens and a lady is there washing something, I patiently waited for her to ask where I place the order for the pizza, she turned looked at me and ignore me. Another lady came out from a side door to fill up a fridge that was in the "lobby area" made eye contact with me as well and ignored me, didn't ask if I needed help, so then I decided at that point to push back and be a little rude in my delivery and said, hi, excuse me do I order here with you? Or on the side of the pastries? She just pointed in the direction of the pastries. Unbelievably RUDE, no customer service and we drove from far, the chicken sandwhich was dry, the bread with cheese and egg was delicious, the croissants were good and the "pistachio dubai cake was absolutely trash, tasted nothing like pistachio. Our commute home was over an hr, its safe to say that we all regretted coming here. The service was horrible and not worth the drive. Burbank's hidden gem!!! This place is absolutely delicious a MUST TRY. I happen to be driving by and decided to drop in. Immediately, you're hit with an aroma of deliciousness! I went to the Cafe side and ordered a luleh kabob sandwich and the guy making it was so very excited that I ordered it. Apparently, it's a new item. He was so very kind and really sold this sandwich.... he was not wrong. The bread is divine! It's a long French roll, sturdy but soft in the middle. The kabob itself was juicy, flavorful, tender. The sandwich was perfect and I'd order it again. Since I was already there, I just had to try the pastries. On the other side, they have a variety of pastries to choose from and each one looks delicious. I picked up a creme Brule, cream puff and chocolate raspberry cake. Each one was decedent! You have some inexplicably rude people behind the counter. While on my jog just now (2/25/25, around 5pm) I saw a huge sign on the side of the building that says "BREAKFAST, BREAKFAST, BREAKFAST 8am-11am" and decided to check it out, as I've recently moved to the area and love going to get breakfast with friends. I kindly asked if I could see a breakfast menu, and if there was no menu, I asked what was available for breakfast. (It's important for me to note that I had already looked over the menu that was next to the register while this lady was showing another customer where the restroom was.) The first seemingly kind girl didn't appear to understand what my question was, and passed me off to her clearly impatient co-worker who asked if I want to buy something. I told her "no, i'm just passing by right now but I may want to come another day for breakfast." She handed me a menu that said nothing about breakfast, not acknowledging that I mentioned breakfast. When I reiterated that the gigantic sign that said "BREAKFAST BREAKFAST BREAKFAST" is the reason I came in asking about what is served for breakfast, at the times when breakfast IS served she said "we serve sandwiches, pizza and pastries." Clearly there is miscommunication happening, so I emphasized that I just wanted to know more about what was served for breakfast to which she replied "breakfast is served 8am-11am". It was like talking to a robot on the phone that does not understand more than 3 inputs, and I intend no disrespect to either of these women when I say that. I'm just being honest. I once again said, "I'm not eating today but I may want to come another day soon" to which she responded to by swiftly and aggressively referring to the menu she had just handed me, saying "if you want more information, you have this menu" as if she had been explaining something to me, in excruciating detail, for hours. Essentially interrupting me before I could really finish what I was even saying. I left immediately, because obviously clear communication is not included in the atmosphere of this otherwise charming looking bakery. It seems like there is only a breakfast pizza and a breakfast sandwich available, which doesn't strike me as complicated information to communicate. Especially not so complicated so as to not be able to maintain your composure and not interrupt someone who's genuinely curious and excited to try a new place. read more
