10 stars if I could! Customer service is BEYOND stellar with great Recommendation over the phone to getting my gems. The vanilla mousse is unreal. The wings, exceptional. Here's the kicker, my first batch was more charred than I like and David recommended saucing it. I wasn't a fan of the sauce (purely my taste not liking vinegar much) but when I still wasn't satisfied, he made me a brand new less charred version and wow, so kind to give me a perfect first impression. You HAVE to treat yourself. Worth the drive.

TO THE OWNER! Shouts out to you from The Bay, I drove all the way over here just to try your food! I was not disappointed!!! Your staff was so friendly especially Anna that helped me choosing these yummy desserts! Omg I ate the Mushroom Magic Mousse 1st and didn't post! Let me tell you it was soo delicious !!! We also got Tiramisu, Lemon, banana and pistachio We even got a pizza and a Pistachio iced espresso! Please consider putting another location in the Bay Area! This was so worth the drive!

I think I'm missing something here. I know they're known for their fruit desserts, but it's not new to me so I passed up on those. I had a slice of their honey cake and a pistachio croissant and I wasn't impressed. The honey cake was okay; it's on the drier side. The croissant had pistachio filling and pistachio chocolate coating which was nice. The big disappointment was the croissant itself. It wasn't flakey and didn't taste fresh at all. Such a disappointment.

It's time to update my review from seven years ago. So many years have passed and this place is still a five star review. The best customer service in the community. My husband and I stopped by to have lunch here and it did not disappoint. We ordered croissants, coffee and their special grilled chicken kebab sandwich. It was so fresh and delicious. Good portion and price. I was especially surprised by how amazing their croissants tasted. Wow. Will go back just for the croissants alone. Customer service was welcoming and helpful. Overall a great place to stop by any time of the day. You won't be disappointed.

Found this gem on tik tok. Absolutely love this bakery. We were in the hunt for the fruit pastries & they have a large selection of different ones to choose from. Each one is 10$. The employees are all very kind and patient. Ambiance here is very chill, I believe the bakery is also spit into a pizza place? Over all each visit here has been pleasant. There is a parking lot structure in the back or there is also street parking. The pastries we got were the mango & raspberry which were absolutely delicious, refreshing. They have filling inside that isn't too heavy or sweet, just the perfect taste. The crunch of the mango was my favorite.

I visited this location again recently. This is the closest bakery to where I live so I usually go there to pick up pastries. They have really good pastries and they taste good. Unfortunately, most of the items don't have prices so it gets confusing. I had to ask the employees several times for the price of the items. For service, some employees are nice and friendly. They take the time to help customers and don't make you feel rushed. But some employees are not that friendly. This bakery can get really busy on the weekends. There are long lines for ordering. This bakery has several tables outside which makes it convenient to order coffee and pastries and enjoy them by sitting outside. For parking, this bakery has a parking lot in the back and also street parking is available too. This location prefers cash transactions and cash is welcomed. They are charging 3% credit card fee for all transactions.

Our first time here it's been on our list and finally had a chance to go. Customer service was great young lady was super friendly and helpful We picked a lot of desserts to try they look amazing and so cute My granddaughter had a blast picking out her desserts Everything was really good very flavorful and looked like a different kinda fruit A few were a bit more pricey because of the design This is definitely a place to splurge every once in awhile We paid $84 dollars for everything we got We even ordered a pizza and it was absolutely delicious! I always pass by and can't believe I've never been here before. Altadena was amazing. The food was delicious and they had such a huge selection of pastries and desserts. There were so many croissants, cakes, and baked goods to choose from. We ended up getting a Nutella croissant and a pistachio croissant, plus the steak and chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh and really flavorful. We also ordered the hazelnut coffee which paired perfectly with the pastries. Before leaving I made sure to grab two tiramisus to go and they were just as good as everything else. This place is seriously delicious, and honestly that's an understatement. I definitely see myself coming back again. I originally saw their pizza and Cajun fries advertised on Instagram, so I'll definitely be coming back to try those next.

Their service is impeccable. The woman who helped me was patient, kind and helpful. I of course had to try the famous fruit pastries and also got a fruit tart. Hands down the tart made me wish I got a bigger one. They have too much dessert to try it all on one go so will go back for the baked goods next time. Tik Tok viral videos convinced me to try their fruit mousse. Little did I know that they are $10 each! They are real looking fruits with a thin chocolate shell filled with light mousse and pieces of fruit filling. Spent a good $70!!! But I would come back to buy one or two. Also, it's a bit messy to eat, so make sure you have a lot of napkins. Mango 7/10 Blueberry 6/10 Mushroom 9/10 Raspberry 7/10 Pina Colada 8/10 Tip: For the best experience, I recommended to enjoy these immediately, as their soft, structure makes them delicate to transport. Eat it there unless you live 5 minutes away as the shell isn't as crispy if you wait 30 minutes to eat them, the shell is no longer as hard. Definitely put it in the freezer if you buy several.

My family and I flew in early to Burbank airport. It was too early to check into our hotel so we decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat and try one of their viral, fruit mousse pastries. The bakery is less than 10 minute drive from the Burbank airport. It was not too busy on a Saturday around 11 AM, but there was a study flow of customers coming in to pick up their cake orders or to pick up a few pastry items. The employees were nice and knowledgeable about the bakery's offerings. There are a few small tables with chairs to sit at to quickly enjoy your delicious bakery items, pizza, sandwich, coffee and/or other offerings. We ordered the popular Armenian Pizza for lunch, the viral fruit mousse pastry (mango which is most popular) and a hazelnut eclair. Everything we had was delicious and highly recommended. Their many real-looking fruit mousse pastries are $10 each, but well worth the cost as they are delicious, not too sweet and very satisfying to cut/bite into. If you are in the Burbank area and want to try something different or some more familiar food items, you should definitely come to Alta Dena Bakery.

I ordered my engagement cake from here and I couldn't have been happier about how it turned out. I asked for s naked cake so that later in we can decorate with flowers ourselves. The owner of the place was kind enough to help us in picking out a flavor which was hazelnut mocha, which we mentioned it's one of their most popular flavors. They even hand delivered the cake on the day of the my event to our home. It turned out beautiful! Everyone kept telling me how delicious and light the cake is besides being gorgeous to look at. I'm for sure a fan and I'll be ordering more things from them. P.S. they also have a pizzeria right next to the bakery which I will for sure try one of these days. It's like an old school Italian oven that makes delicious pizzas :) read more

I found this place looking for a quick bite. After eating here once, I was hooked. Pizza and sandwiches are awesome. Wood fire oven, means for pizza comes out fast and crisp. I love the bite of the crust and the toppings are always good. The sandwiches are awesome. The bread is the difference. Perfect crisps with pillowy inside. Lula, kabob, pastrami all awesome. Found this place while out in California for work didn't want to drive far from the Ramada hotel while the corona virus is going on, only 5 minutes away! Got the pastrami for dinner last night randomly and it was so delicious I figured hey! I wonder how good there pizza is? Was greeted by a nice gentlemen now know by Dave who said my pizza will be right up! Walked to the fridge to grab a drink and noticed a home made hot sauce bottle and I love hot sauce so I asked. And he said it's my own! Dave's hot sauce! I was like okay! Can I try some? And he said here take a bottle! What a nice guy! So anyways I get my pizza, drinks and hot sauce tip the man and go back to the hotel, I then open the box and this beautiful perfectly place ingredients pizza stared at me in my eyes. I took a picture first then took a bite and the photo matches the taste! Delicious!! Also the hot sauce! If this thing isn't the Corona Virus Cure idk what is!? Carolina reaper mango w/ garlic n opinions and other things but wow!! It's HOTT but has great flavor! I love it Will definitely use on tacos and other things! Oh also I'm just gonna leave the video here.. but they have baked desserts from heaven.. Best chicken sandwich I ever had. Sourdough bread that they bake was excellent. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Not only do they have great Pizza and Sandwiches, they have a full line dessert bakery as well. The desserts are great and you can tell they take their time to prepare them so the appearance and taste is top notch. The prices were great for the quality you get. We got a few pizzas here are they were very average. The cook was not wearing a mask and there are no prices on anything in the store except for the pastries in the glass case. The pizzas were bland and had no taste what so ever. The crust was way to thick and wasted like cardboard. Do not recommend this place. read more

Pizza was good! I thought 8 pieces for the small was gonna be too big, the attendant was right! It, was just right! So I was expecting Armenian pizza? Went to Altadena Express for the first time and it's not going to be my last. This place offers one side of the store with a bakery offering many pastries and the other side of the store is mainly a pizza and sandwich spot. I ordered the turkey sandwich and for about $9 it was delicious large sandwich. The staff was quick to take my order and I would recommend this place for someone who wants a quick bite. read more

The chicken Kabob sandwich and the Armenian Pizza are a must try! I was literally "hooked" after the first bite of the chicken kabob sandwich. It was so simple and so delicious. Just remember to ask for it without onions, if you don't prefer onions. Or without cilantro if it taste like soap to you. (Yes, that is real) This sandwich is warm and toasty. The Armenian pizza is equally delicious. Take a look at how they grill your chicken fresh for each order, when you stop in to pick up your order. If you like it spicy, don't forget to ask for a side of the spicy spread. I've ordered this pizza twice this week because it's so delicious. I've been to the bakery side of the restaurant a few times but recently decided to try the pizza and I'm so glad I did. The pizza isn't greasy like most places, the crust is the perfect amount of crispy, and the ingredients are good quality. The staff was all wearing masks both times I went, and the whole place looks very clean. We got there early to pick up the pizza and the young guy making it was very friendly and provided great customer service. I'll definitely be back! read more

New bakery opened up and was surprised as how big it was! I was looking for a cake for my sister's birthday and was surprised to see quiet a selection in the display. The icing decor was very pretty in the display cakes, but when I asked for them to write Happy Birthday on the one I bought, the writing looked horrible, I could've done a better job. I got the Chocolate mocha cake and it was a hit with everyone, people came back for seconds! It was light and the flavor was great. They also have coffee and different types of drinks. I also saw a sandwich menu on the side too. Overall, the taste of the cake was good, but I expected better with their writing because wasn't that great and didn't look professional at all compared to their nice designs in their display. read more

They are open 8am to 9PM! I was so happy to see this place was still open after my work. This place is a bit unique. half store is bakery and the other part is a grill where they serves sandwich and pizza. 4 stars - Luna Kabab sandwich - Highly recommended by a server there. Meat was super juicy and tender, I wish the bread was more French baget... It was a bit dry.... 5 stars - Got some different kinds of small cookies. They were delici!! I will have to go back to try some more since they had so many different kinds of cookies and cakes. But this seems to be owned by Armenian (I am sorry if it is wrong), there was no croissant, not much pastry nor eclair. Parking: Plenty of street parking! Hours: 8am-9pm! Awesome hours. I had to pickup my family from Burbank airport on Thanksgiving day and they were arriving at different times so we went to Alta Dena to kill some time. It is very close to the airport and I was thrilled to find out they were open on Thanksgiving. We started out in the Deli and had some sandwiches. The bread is made fresh and ingredients are delicious. Service was fabulous and you can tell that the employees love what they do. Their food is certainly made with a lot of passion. They also serve kabob and sandwiches and have many drink options. Even though we only came for lunch it was very difficult to avoid the bakery. The whole display was like eye candy and we didn't know what to try first. The even better news was that the pastries are priced fairly low for the area and you could pick several and still not break the bank. I've been to Handel's a handful of times, and there is usually a fairly busy line, but it moves pretty fast. They don't skimp on portions, nor is the presentation ever sloppy, no matter how busy they are. Considering the generous portions, I was pleasantly surprised by the price. Definitely less expensive than Cold Stone or Ben & Jerry's, and the quality is - dare I say - on par or even better?! Also, if you ever have to go to the urgent care off Pass Avenue, one silver lining is that Handel's is *literally* right next-door to the urgent care! If there's a long wait, take advantage of it, and pop next door for a scoop of ice cream or a banana split! Or if you have a child who needs some bribing or a post-appointment reward, Handel's can handle that for you! Parking is plentiful, but keep in mind that there is a Starbucks and a 24-hour Vons in the same parking lot, so certain times of day will be busier than others, and some people are bad at heeding the one-way arrows down most of the rows. The portions have noticeably shrunk, yet the prices remain the same. Even worse, the quality just isn't what it used to be -- some of the mousses were either extremely hard or oddly runny inside.
