The person's sewing skills for repair work are horrendous. She said she could repair a hole in the elbow of two dress shirts and when I picked them up they were so horribly done that there is no way you could wear them in the office. When I said I could not pay full full price for this work she started to cry and said I had to. So I did and told her she just lost all of my drycleaning business as well. She didn't care. read more

We have been coming here for the past 27 years. Not only do they consistently do an excellent job with my entire family's dry cleaning and alterations, but they are also incredibly kind. I remember when I was pregnant, the owner asked me what I planned to name my baby. Now, 27 years later, she still remember my son's name and asks me how he is doing. One time, I rushed in with my toddler's teddy bear, which had been decapitated. My son was in tears, and the owner's husband kindly took the bear and promised to fix it right away. Within an hour, the head was sewn back on. Over the years, I've learned about the owner's life--the loss of her husband, her daughter's experiences--and it feels like a genuine connection. You just don't find businesses like this anymore. Every time I visit, I not only receive high-quality service but also warmth and kindness. I couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

I took 2 shirts to be dry cleaned and 2 small alterations it came to 95 dollars,and after paying the 95 dollars she was almost insistent on a tip? After not giving her a tip she refused to hem a shirt. Saying "To much work." If you're a business owner and want more money just up your prices but denying business is really bad business. I should have read the other reviews as there's so many with the same complaints.They've even been sued!!! I definitely won't be back and they obviously just don't care about bad business practices. Miss Lisa is the Major Domo behind of and in front of everything that happens here at US1. I've been coming here for about 3-ish years and have never had one issue with the dry cleaning, the laundry or the alterations except: Miss Lisa is a bit high-strung in that, it is obvious she wants to do a top notch job on the alterations and so that is why she has so much work. Or as she puts it: "toooo much work." Yet she always gets it done on time and in a very professional manner. For example when she takes in shirts for me she disassembles the seams, makes the cut and re-assembles them as if they were coming from the factory. It is the only way she will do things: the right and professional way! Lisa is one of those professional people who don't know how to do things except in a correct way: alterations as if done in the finest couture houses. I kid you not. I know there have been a couple negative reviews about this or that but honestly you will never get one of those from this here guy. In fact if i have any complaint it is that Lisa does things too well and maybe takes a bit too long to get them back to me. But, is this a real complaint? No, not at all. Come here and you will be happy with the results i guarantee it. Prices are about par and often under local dry cleaners/laundry/ alteration joints in the area. Service is with a smile and you get to cajole Miss Lisa who is very straight forward and to the point and has no idea that i am joking with her. Fair enough! cheers! read more

I moved recently and so far out of all the cleaners in the area I like this spot t. They're affordable, they do a great job, and they're always very sweet. Taking a few pants in to be hemmed. And hoping they do as good a job with them as they have with my dry cleaning. Update: They did an awesome job hemming my jeans, so I took a couple pants to get taken in and they did an awesome job! They had to take in about 6 inches from the waist on a beautiful pair of brocade pants and really did a fantastic job. I was really impressed because that material can be a little annoying to work with and she really aced it. read more

not sure if the woman working here is the owner, but this is the second time i've brought an item to her where she's either told me she's too busy, or she "can't" fix something, months apart from each other. this time it was a zipper that was unattached from a dress bodice, and the time before were holes in a cardigan. she told me she "didn't have zippers" for my dress, and for my cardigan she was "too busy" and didn't have the right color patch for my cardigan. i would definitely not recommend this place. read more

I thought it was just me until I read some of these other reviews.. both times I brought a suit jacket or pant to get hemmed I was told she was "too busy." After I explained I was in no rush, I was told it would take a couple weeks. No problem. Both times it was done within a few days, but poorly done. You'd think that would be considered good service, but it's clear she was not "too busy" and just didn't really want my business to begin with. Is this shop doing so well that they're often telling potential customers they're too busy? If so, good for them! They clearly don't need my business and no longer will get it. I just looked at my Yelp reviews and realize that I have never written a negative review before but I am genuinely stunned. I have spent 6 years bringing my dry cleaning locally to this business. Suddenly I was just charged $25 and $35 per dress for dry cleaning. When I asked for an explanation the owner told me that my dresses were 'too big'. That she charges $10 for a small dress. I understand that I don't wear a size 'small' but my dresses are not an out of the ordinary size. I understood an extra cost to clean my daughters prom dress (a size XS for the record ) -which still had dirt on the bottom when I picked it up- but for one maxi dress and one regular shift they charged me $25 each. The most crushing part of this is that along with my 'big' dresses, I brought a vintage quilt for cleaning. When I brought it in and before I left it I asked if it they thought it would be ok to dry clean. I was told only that it was 'old' but assumed that they were confident since they took it anyway. When I picked it up it was DESTROYED. Entire sections of fabric just GONE. When I complained they just told me over and over that they 'couldn't pin it'. I received no real offer of explanation or compensation. Just a huge dry cleaning bill for my trouble. I don't understand what has happened to this dry cleaner who I once recommended but sadly I will not return. read more

They do such a great job. They have old fashioned wonderful work habits and I think they are still in the era of cash. The price point is great and the fine cleaning has given my garments long life. They find the small issues I've overlooked (a loose button, a frayed sleeve). Family owned and their attention to detail is so reassuring in the era of masks. UPDATE: I took them to small claims court and won. The judge ruled in my favor after they desperately tried to defend themselves, making up all kinds of malarkey. All the shade they're throwing at me below didn't hold up in court. These folks are dishonest cheats, now, with a public record of deceitful business practices. Dropped off a pair of pants that needed some hemming and the lady filled out a ticket and I mentioned to her what I needed, she asked when I would need the pair back and I said you let me know, don't want to rush you. She stated a whole week, went in on a Thursday and picked up the following Thursday. The pair of pants were done right, you could see it is not 100% great but good enough for me. She charged me $12 for just the hemming, no dry clean. I left her another pair that needs hemming as well but with dry clean. Should be picking those up this coming Thursday. I am happy with the outcome and service. Seems like a one person shop, at least that is who I have seen every Thursday. Small lot parking that is shared with other establishments but you can find street parking as well. She takes cash or check, no debit or credit card. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. My family has been going to this place for years, but no more. I took a dress of mine in to get dry cleaned. When my mom and I went to pick it up, the hook on the back of the dress was missing. When we took it back to get fixed the lady there tried to argue. She said that it had been ripped when we brought it in, which it certainly was not. We told her that no, it had been in good shape, and asked if she could fix it. She, the owner I might add, had the nerve to ask if she could just give us the hook and we could fix it ourselves...Seriously? We said no, that we brought it so that she could fix it. It is her job and all. So she took it and said it would be ready the next day. We gave it a couple more days, went back 3 days later to pick it up and she still hadn't fixed it. So unprofessional. We called it quits and took back the dress, still damaged. Definitely looking for another dry cleaner. The whole experience was just ridiculous. read more

Didn't think altering 2 pair of scrub pants was that expensive. Just needed to hem a pair of scrubs and it cost $40 for the two. The 2 scrubs itself cost less than the hem. Make sure you ask the cost before having them do the work. read more
