We just got our new patio installed before Labor Day 2021 and we absolutely love it! The workers came right on time and knew what they were doing. They were clean and friendly and worked consistently and thoroughly. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We purchased three large patio covers, spent a fortune on them approximately 8 years ago. We were happy with the installation and the final product; however, I called today because even with good maintenance the gutters are not working properly, what looks like rust is starting to appear and one of the corbel's just fell off!!! Called William Redmond who we originally worked with to see about having someone come and look at the gutters, fallen corbel and to get an estimate for an addition cover on the side of our home. He was RUDE, completely uninterested in standing behind his product and work. Accused us of not maintaining the gutters and claimed he is slammed with work and has a backlog of two months, suggested we get a handy man to address our concerns!!!! So much for a lifetime warranty. Even though we were willing to pay for any work, he was completely unwilling to assist in anyway, stated that the filters on the gutters could have blown away and the sealant is only warranted for two years anyway, so he was not willing to assist in anyway. I had recommended them to a new neighbor, made sure to inform them right away to look elsewhere. Clearly this company has gotten to big to care for their loyal customers. I'd give zero stars of possible. Please save yourself the grief down the line and get another company that cares and stands behind their products, installation and promises!!!!! read more

We had multiple problems with this company. I was told this would be a one day project. Ended up being 5. First set of guys came out late and started the project wrong by drilling into my concrete and into my house stucco that I had just paid 300 dollars to repair from previous patio cover in preparation for the new one. They were sent home and new guys sent out the next day. They were able to get the cover up but not completed. We had two dented beams, missing end caps and screws. Two days later they came to finish the job but had to be told to fix everything before I was going to pay them. In the end, I received a smaller patio cover than originally quoted for, had permanent damage to my concrete. I received attitude from the estimator and the owner and was treated as an inconvenience. A week after the project was finished we noticed that the electrical was done completely wrong and could have had catastrophic consequences. The electrician who came to repair it cost me another 400 dollars to fix. All our wires were connected to the neutral so we had no 'ground' and if we had a lot of rain it could have shocked someone or caused a fire. I have small kids and this was very scary to hear. That is a severe safety issue. Needless to say I can't recommend this company. read more

From the beginning of the process of completing my patio cover, everyone was professional and courteous. William kept me updated on how long it would take to get the materials for my patio cover. He explained that due to COVID-19 it was taking longer to get the materials needed to complete my cover. Alumawood made a 12'x36' patio cover for us. 24' was solid. 12' was lattice. The finished product is very nice and our salesman Ron was nice. There was a mistake in our order and instead of putting the lattice section 10 ft tall and solid 9ft tall as was ordered and drawn in the picture, it is 9ft all the way across. It was too late to change it with how much they had built before I got home from work and saw it, so we continued as is. Not exactly as ordered (wrong stuff ordered, not just an install issue). The two gentlemen installing it (not Ron like we expected) spoke very little English, so communication was an issue. It still looks very nice and should last for years to come. Had a very bad experience with William. He left a very rude voicemail and unprofessional text messages within minutes of his voicemail demanding payment. We had been home as promised for hours waiting for someone to come pick up payment, but no one showed. According to William, someone came and no one was home, even though we were in the front room by the door at that specified time and no one knocked on our door. I had written the check and placed it under our mat as Ron had requested, but then William starts hounding us right after we put payment there. He was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. Now I know why they were the lowest price we found. Very poor customer service from William. Extremely disappointed about how he represented Alumacovers. This company completely wasted my time. I contacted them to come and look at the scope of my patio project and they sent someone out right away. They did the diagramming and mentioned it would go to engineering and then to the city for permitting. A couple weeks later they came and did more measurements for engineering and I signed an agreement and gave a deposit on 04/28/2021. I received a text on 05/19/2021 that there was an engineering change necessary and they would call me to fill me in on that. They called me back on 05/21/2021 and said that due to the engineering issue that the owner did not want to do my project. They wasted a month of my time and here I am thinking that the project should start in 3 weeks. Meanwhile, I have been holding my neighbors up for painting based upon when we can get the project going. My question is, shoe on the other foot, would they be willing to let me out of my side of the contract so easily? Doubt it. The worst part is that I did not go with this company because they were the least expensive, I went with them because of the rep they had in the field. Not only that, but we had great experience with the installers. They came back out to check the wiring of one of the light fixtures that was shorting. My wife and I had Alumacovers come out to give us an estimate on July 1st. They are a HERO program qualified contractor, which is one of the reasons we had contacted them. We decided to hire them to Demo our old wood patio cover and install a new Alumacover patio cover. The salesman, Wayne, came back out on 16 July to complete the contract. When Wayne arrived, my wife asked if he could quote adding canned lighting. Wayne called the owner, William, who gave us an extremely high quote for the canned lights. After discussing this, we decided to go with the original estimate, which was quite reasonable. We signed the contract, I contacted the HERO program to add them as our contractor, and wrote a check for $150 to cover the permit work. The next day William called my wife and said that he could not complete our project. He stated that he was having trouble with the HERO program. He said that he could not discuss the issue. I have worked with HERO before to install a solar system, and they are nothing less than fantastic! If he is having a dispute, it signals that his company is not reputable, or he simply did not want to honor the price that he quoted us. William was also quite rude to Wayne during his discussions on 16 July, he talked down to him and treated him like a child. read more

To be honest I was a little bit reluctant to consider installing an aluminum patio cover in our backyard as I wasn't convinced that it had the high-end look that I wanted. Boy was I wrong, because it looks awesome! Ron the salesman came out and gave me a very thorough explanation of the job, showed us samples and pics, and even drew out the dimensions in chalk on my patio to make sure I understood the exact dimensions of the patio cover. From the initial estimate to the installation - which was amazingly done in 1 day - I am very pleased with my decision to use Alumacovers for my job. Lot's of issues. First, the quote in person was 400 over price over phone. They reduced 200 so i trusted to go with them. Second, I was not called with time of delivery so on delivery day i had to call to see what time delivery was scheduled for and was told 1:30,at 3:30 I called and left message with no return call,5:30 contracted installers arrived saying it was delayed due to manufacturer,still no return phone call. Started that night just to get the time consuming things done. Third,when finished went to pay,was supposed to get a 100 firefighter discount, not, the discount was for if you payed in cash. With all that said and done not once did the salesman call and see how things were going or went when finished. Unfortunately this company seems to be out to get the money and not worry about customer service. Apparently they have first responders as friends and family,think they would be ashamed of how fellow responders were treated. With that said could have went with a construction company for the same price as the second quote that had a reputation to stand behind and not blow smoke up my ass. read more
