Overpriced for the quality of work. I had my dress straps taken up, and instead of properly altering them, the tailor literally just folded the straps over and put in two stitches to shorten them. They left the extra loop/material visible, and it looks horrible and unfinished. Definitely not worth what they charged. read more

I recently took a pair of jeans for a simple length alteration. A week after I dropped them off, I went to the shop during business hours to pick them up, but the doors were locked, I couldn't get in, and the owner wasn't picking up the phone or responding to text messages. I went back the following week and was then told by Sergio that he lost my jeans and has no idea where they are. I understand that mistakes happen, but what has been most disappointing is the lack of communication. I still have my ticket, but despite calling multiple times, I have not received any answers or updates, and my calls go unanswered. I would appreciate a resolution to this situation, whether it be locating my jeans or providing compensation. BAD bad customer service. I was explaining to him what I wanted to do with the pants, he interrupts in a very rude way saying .."I don't have the time to hear about what do you want, I have lot of work to do is not worth the time for what I make fixing it" ... well that's why you have a taylor shop I thought. Then when he seemed to understand, wants to charge another $15 I said no. Had other two items left them there, he said pick them up on Saturday. Did not go on Saturday I went Tuesday after, then he says I don't have them ready, come back in an hour, I complained so he says you can take them if you want (was planned), of course I took them without been fixed. Got nothing but great things to say about Sergio. He's been my tailor for the last five years. His brother was my original tailor, but then I switched over to Sergio. Great tailoring runs in the family. He's handled suits, a leather sportcoat, and numerous pants. He's an artist and can't recommend him more highly. And as far as other people, commenting on his shop... he's got clean, dressing rooms and a mirror. I'm not going in there to sit down and have a drink... This man is a crook. He should be reported to whatever authorities and closed down that way an honest person can open up shop. I left a decent amount of clothes with him to be cleaned and when coming back on the day to get them he said they weren't ready. I then came back two times after and he said they weren't ready so I asked to have them back and he said they were at another location. When coming back AGAIN, he gave me all of my clothes in worse condition. An unwashed blanket, which he charged me for, a skirt that he claimed was unable to be washed because the stains were so bad but charged me for his attempts... I took it home, soaked it in bleach and everything came out... shirts in worse condition than when they had arrived and had a strange odor. Lastly- he over charges for work he does not do. read more

Sergio ruined my wedding dress! I had to buy the same dress again and have it tailored the day before my wedding. His behavior and attitude was horrible. I brought in a BHLDN jumpsuit for my wedding. When I showed up for my fitting, the jumpsuit's pant legs were an inch shorter than we had decided and ONE LEG WAS SHORTER THAN THE OTHER. He told me one of my legs was shorter than the other (huh?), and he had measured for this but "had not altered it according to his measurements." In addition, he took 2 inches out of the sides of the waist, when he told me he'd take 1/2 an inch out. It was too tight and the top poofed out at the sides. THE HEM OF THE PANTS WERE DIRTY, like they'd been splattered with mud. When I brought this to Sergio's attention he told me "YOU'RE GOING TO BE WALKING ON THE GROUND ANYWAY." Who tells this to a bride to be? Your dress is dirty but so what? The only explanation for this horrible work is that SERGIO IS HAVING UNEXPERIENCED PEOPLE DO HIS ALTERATIONS FOR HIM. He said he did the alterations himself, but it's just not possible. I could have done a better job myself and I can barely sew. He told me he'd fix the jumpsuit and that he could have it done the following day. I asked him for his word that if we paid before I could try it on that he wouldn't wash his hands of me if the jumpsuit still needed work. At this point he told me he'd give it to us and not charge me for his work, but to never come to him again because "he didn't want to work with people like me." !!!!!! When I got the suit, HE HAD RIPPED OUT THE INSIDE SEAMS, as shown in these pictures. He cost me $450 in additional tailoring and a brand new dress. By the way, for the fix I asked BHLDN who they recommended for tailoring and went to their top rec. She did an amazing job in zero time, and was very kind. Check my other reviews for her. read more

Sergio provides amazing service and you will look great after he tailors anything. I've taken about 20-25 pairs of pants and two suits to him now and he made sure they fit perfectly. He is even great about getting items done quickly if you need them within a specific time frame, but he has never taken more than 3-4 business days. One of the best services that he ever provided was on a suit jacket. He had tailored it perfectly in the arms and the lower back, but the fabric right below the collar kept bunching up in the back. It was clearly a design flaw, but Sergio fixed it for me at no extra charge. So, he will go above and beyond your expectations, which is why I have been a loyal customer for over a year. read more

I am really disappointed in the shop owner, Sergio, because he seems to be a nice guy and his tailoring work is fine. But one too many times my clothing wasn't ready on the quoted date, and sometimes I had to come back more than once for the same item because "he messed up". A simple phone call to let me know not to waste my time coming in would have been nice, but that never happened. I tried to be patient with this because he is friendly and I want to support a local business, but the truth is his business is in severe need of organization. The last and final straw for me was when he gave me a pickup slip with the hem price ($35) printed on it, and then when my dress was finally ready (my 3rd time returning to the shop for the dress), he said, "Oh I must have pressed the wrong button when I was ringing you up for this. The price is actually $110." My jaw dropped. We went back and forth but he would not take accountability for his mistake and stand behind the originally quoted $35 price that was clearly printed on the pickup slip. His door was open and greeted us as we walked in the door explained what we need done on my daughter prom dress, as she was putting the dress on. I was talking to Sergio to get a little more background on him, to find he recently open up his own shop and has been tailoring for over ten years. We agreed on price which was great. I asked for the dress to be ready on a Thursday and he told me he would have it ready on Wednesday just in case we needed further alteration's....WOW When we when back on Wednesday the dress was ready and looked fantastic it was perfectly done. Dropped in to see about getting my Louis Vuitton bag cleaned and getting 5 pairs of pants altered to fit just right. Sergio is wonderful - he took a look at the pants and, instead of saying he would alter the pants (which would have required a lot of work to fit them right, because they are 2 sizes too big!), he suggested I try to exchange them for another size first. He could have accepted the pants, and charged me a whack to do all the alterations, but he didn't. He was lovely. Whether you need a dress tailored, pants hemmed, jeans altered, Sergio can do it all. He is reasonably priced, professional, and honest about the work he does. He will guarantee a great job on his work and will make sure you're satisfied before you pay. Keep an eye out for occasional Yelp coupons as well. He took in a bridesmaid dress a whole size for me and it looks great! Its as if it was never altered and actually fits me to a tee. His work is impeccable. He says he also makes custom dresses if you bring him a design and fabric you like, he'll work with you to make the dress you want. I had a pair of designer jeans that I destroyed over the years of wear and tear. Sergio was able to turn them into skinny jeans and use the original hem and update my favorite pair of jeans. Instead of going to the Denim Doctor and overpaying, Sergio only charges you $15-20 for using the original hem on your jeans. Don't quote me on his prices as it depends on how much work needs to be done, but I think his prices reasonably reflect the amount of work he puts into the item. He also does dry cleaning starting as well, just to make it even more convenient of a one stop shop. Parking is available in the back, or on the street or (unofficially) Rite Aid lot. I'll echo many of the reviewers' comments below, and this should serve as a warning to all who drop clothes off at this blackhole. Four times we've dropped off clothes with important deadlines that we alerted Sergio to. Four times our clothes were not ready. Each time we've had to go to other dry cleaners that are farther away but more reliable in order to have suits and dresses ready for travel. I dusted off my Yelp account not because of this inexcusable tardiness. We rolled the dice the last time knowing that he would probably mess it up. And he did. I'm writing this review because Sergio cursed at my wife when she went to pick up our dirty clothes so that we could take it to another cleaners. It should be obvious, but regardless of whether you run a business or happen upon someone in the street, raising your voice and cursing at someone is unacceptable. Each time this shop has failed to deliver on a deadline, Sergio never apologized. The last time we were met with an unfathomable and grotesque attitude. If you care at all about your clothes or getting them back cleaned and ready to wear, go somewhere else. read more

I brought items like a skirt and shorts and pretty much everything was ruined through the alterations (the skirt was so short that it would not cover the butt, and legs of shorts were too tight all of a sudden). Per usual Sergio has done an amazing job! I usually bring in designer shirts and jeans to be fitted and altered but when I brought him 2 suits recently and he absolutely killed it! I brought him a Hugo Boss and a Theory suit that now fit to perfection. Wore the boss suit to a wedding recently and got nothing but compliments. I highly recommend Sergio. Came in to get measurements for a dress I was purchasing online. Asked for the price and was told $15. I ask if he will do $5 as that is what I thought was reasonable and he says no $15 is his price. I understand a price is a price but when it takes less than 5 minutes to get my measurements, no material is used and I've nicely asked for a discount just reason with me and drop your price. Never know when that same customer will come back with a big request and referrals. I walked right out Yelped "measurements" and found the nicest tailor (A&I Friendly Tailor) with amazing reviews just down the street who's starting price for measurements was $5. I'll be going to her for all my future sewing needs! I would definitely recommend this place if you need any alteration or dry-clean! I had a dress that needed to be fixed and within a day or two it was done & it looked spectacular .
