My favourite brisket I've had in TX so far, always really solid whenever I frequent, and on this particular Friday, it was decadently NEXT level. The best meat I've EVER tasted in my 34 years of life. Maybe they were extra busy and it was especially fresh today ... Or I got lucky and got some extra moist pieces... but oh my goodness I was thoroughly satisfied. And I LOVE and appreciate that they don't use a lot of pepper. In comparison to a place I went just the other day who caked on like a half inch layer of thick black pepper and I felt so sick from it. So grateful for this place RIGHT by my house!!! Stopped by Alzer's BBQ today. I ordered the brisket, turkey and the BBQ beans. I thought it was ok. The brisket was tender but it didn't have much bark. The turkey was moist but not much smoke flavor. The beans tasted like they came out of a can but with a little onion added. The sauce was also store bought. The cost was a little higher than I expected. For the cost I was expecting more. To respond to owner who commented on my review. I don't think you do remember me because I don't know what you are talking about in regards to the newspaper article. You must have me confused with someone else. Also no agenda I wish you guys nothing but the best. I had high hopes when I visited your place I was even thinking of giving you guys a second chance but if you are going to argue with me just because I have an opinion that you didn't like. Maybe not. My friends and I drove all the way from Houston after hearing about this place from a coworker. The owner and employees are very friendly and helpful with choosing off the menu. The restaurant was very clean and well kept, even the bathrooms which is always a good sign. Now to the food, the brisket was really moist, smoky, and flavorful. The quail was also juicy and flavorful, the ribs where on point not tough or falling apart. They have spare ribs which are the best, everyone offers the St Louis cut now which means they cut the fatty piece on the end off that's full of flavor. The potato salad is phenomenal, Bbq sauce had a great flavor, not overpowering the meat. We're going back this weekend. Damn ! The bbq here is awesome !!! Located in a gas station parking lot so do not be scared off. Nothing in the area bbq wise compares to Alzers. The brisket was incredible. Nice thick cut pieces with perfect smoke rings. The sausage was amazing as well. We had some turkey too and it was good but a bit dry. We had potato salad and green beans and they were devoured by our family. Plenty of pickles and onions and bread to go with our order. Everything packaged spill proof. Great customer service; Alzer's gave me the option to sit at a picnic table or in my car for a to-go order. I got the 3-meat combo with brisket, sausage and beef ribs. All of them had a great smoke flavor but the sausage casing was crisp which provided a nice snap when bitten into it. Delivery Order - repeat customers Well let me just say this is hands down the best bbq we've had in Austin period. We've tried franklins, Terry's, Blacks and Stiles and they all miss the Mark compared to Alzer. Even more so, we've never even ordered in person, it's been delivered via Uber Eats all 13 times. In 2021 that says a lot about not just the quality of food, but the care they put into packaging orders, reading notes/instructions, and ensuring you actually receive value for the food you pay for. Is this place Black owned? Because by the taste of the potato salad and baked beans an old southern Black grandmother had to be in the kitchen putting her heart and soul into it! The sides here unlike most BBQ places are ALL amazing and tbh taste even better than homemade (didn't think that would be possible!) As far as meats, we tried the brisket (so moist and juicy), beef ribs and my husband is obsessed with their sausage sandwich. You really can't go wrong with any choice. When I want lean brisket they deliver -- when I feel like a big fatty melt in your mouth piece they deliver on that too! Now here's the important part. When I order bbq I usually have to 1. Make my own sides AND 2.pull out my own bbq sauce from the pantry. I'm not at all into vinegar base sauces it really kills the mood for me. A nice smooth, thick sweet but tangy style sauce - Alzer BBQ has the best overall Kansas city style sauce I've had in Texas. If you made it this far you're doing it wrong. Stop reading the reviews and go place your order TRUST me. I couldn't imagine you regretting it even one little bit. Shout out to the owners for the level of service and consistency you've maintained - even through a global pandemic. We need more bbq places like this in ATX. read more

I had to pick up my medicine from CVS over on Bell Blvd in Cedar Park. As I was getting into my car something hit me dead smack in my nose. I said to myself, what the hell is this. Turned out to the aroma of Q. That's right Bar B Q. The odor captivated me and led me to ALZER'S. At 68 years young, I have smelled a lot of Q. Never have I been so overwhelmed by the odor that I had to investigate to see how I could get me some. I'm glad I did. When I entered ALZER'S immediately I was greeted by two young men from behind the counter. They both were smiling which made me feel right at home. I ordered the chicken, sausage and brisket. My sides were potato salad, beans and Mac and cheese. To close the deal I ordered two pieces of carrot cake. We moved to Texas in 2017 and have only been to Rudys and Salt Lick for Q. I'm telling y'all that ALZER'S got them beat. This was the best Q I've had in a long time. My guest enjoyed it too. They all said it was perfect. I live 32 miles from ALZER'S and I will not let that stop me from returning. I will also tell all my friends and family how great y'all are. Cedar Park needed some good Bar-b-q and we now have some out of this food trailer in the gas station parking lot. Excellent food quality. Brisket, turkey, lamb, quail and sides were all really good. All of the BBQ is delicious but the Alzer's smoked hamburger is so good I had to install the Yelp app to post my first ever food review. I'm just not a review person but this burger was so good I had to let people know. After lunch I was pumping gas into my car and started telling the guy at the pump next to me about this burger with grilled onions and peppers. I'm pretty sure he thought I was nuts as he backed away slowly, got in his car and locked the doors so he'll never know what he's missing. Now you know. Try it, you won't be disappointed. read more

In a city with so much good BBQ, this place isn't even within shouting distance of mid-level chains like Rudy's. I wanted to love it because it's so close to my house. INCREDIBLE!!! We usually pick up or eat here(precovid), but as a family with 5 young kids, we decided to order through DoorDash because it's not always convenient packing the 5 of them up to take out if 1 parent is at work... SO HAPPY WE DID! It was all neatly and tightly packaged so that nothing would fall over. I've had bad experiences with other places (EX:MFBurger) not packing well and sauce spilling all over bags and juices of meats dripping all over..just plain messes. So, Alzer's was an extreme relief with their over the top excellent packaging! Sorry, enough about the packaging.. onto the food! Absolutely perfect as always! They have halal chicken, brisket, and lamb so we opt for those for some clean good meats. We love all 3, but the chicken and brisket seem to go fastest. They all make amazing left overs too(brisket especially in our home and it even freezes well). Everything is always so moist and flavorful. Our last BBQ go to place (BigCats) closed down, so when we found Alzer's, it was a relief. When we actually tried it, were mind blown that anything could be better than BC! Way to go Alzer's.. never a disappointment! read more
