This company is the same crappy company already listed on here yelp serving pacoima. They have very shady business practices when working with our company. I.e. having our employees sign a form. I had a positive experience with AM/PM when they installed my driveway double swing gates back in 2005. I supplied the original gate motors and the ornamental gate while they matched the side gate pieces to fill in the spaces on either side of the driveway. The welds are professional and they repaint all the ironwork at finishing to make it all look stock and clean. It's 2014 and it's time to upgrade my motors to commercial units so I called them back. Valerie is who I dealt with. She is easy to reach via email & phone. If your schedule is hectic (like mine) being able to communicate through email can be a real positive. The estimate was submitted to me via my phone while I was at work/school, i looked them over, signed and emailed it back. The bid was fair and reasonable and I was comfortable with moving forward. Fernando did the install and I couldn't be happier. I'm a perfectionist (and a welder by hobby) and that's what I'm looking at when a job like this is complete. Fernando called me upon completion - he was polite and friendly on the phone and his wiring is immaculate. I work in entertainment management and I've used AM/PM for a few of my client's properties. Great service! They have the agility of a small company with the professionalism and speed of a national company. The electrician they sent not only knew his stuff but was fast! Pleasure to work with. Their bid was market rate and lower than others but because they didn't run the clock the price was significantly lower than everyone else. Kelvin the owner has always been very helpful since I've worked with this company the last couple years, even going so far as clearly and calmly troubleshooting over the phone on a weekend evening when my tenants' driveway gate was stuck. He also serviced the garage door opener and recommended installation of some good safety mechanisms. I feel he cares about customer satisfaction, and seems to really know his business. I've never had any trouble getting a call back, though I know they are busy. Would recommend without hesitation. read more

I did a Google search for best door service in Alhambra. AM/PM came up. I called and talked with Matt. He sent out a great and awesome worker name Graham. THE WORST OF THE WORST. Dishonest, incompetent, high prices, horrible attitudes and customer service. Also, do not honor warranties on its product. We have a commercial garage door in our condominium. The curly cord which transits messages to the operator has gone out 4 times in the past 2 years. Each time the cord stopped transmitting I called AM/PM door. Each time that they sent someone out from their company the new technician told me that the reason the cord broke was poor installation by the previous installer. In order to charge me for the call, the technician would find some fake problem with another part of the door mechanism so he could charge me for the call. The last time the technician pulled that stunt, I told the company that I would not pay the bill. Because I did not trust AM/PM door, I did not call them when the garage door mal functioned again in October 2017, and called another garage door company. Sure enough, the curly cord was broken again, last installed by AM/PM door. The new technician told me that the last installer from AM/PM had stretched the curly cord so tight that it wore out the cord where he connected it. The technician put a piece of tape over the area where it was pulled apart and told me to call AM/PM to fix the problem since it was under warranty and their technicians error. When I called AM/PM door the woman the answered was rude and indignant when I spoke to her. She made some lame excuse why the warranty would not cover the repair, but when I persisted she told me she would talk to her boss and get back to me. I just received a voicemail from the woman today, saying they would not honor the warranty because I called another technician to come out and look at it. Besides being dishonest and not honoring warranty, the service call charge by this company is $165, way over the prices charged by better and more competent companies. It is not worth going to conciliation court, but I will be sending a letter to the BBB, Angies List, the Attorney General and any other social media outlet I can find to notify others to stay away. read more

This morning my 12 feet by 12 feet roll up door refused to open. I called this business, was transferred to Kelvin. He ask me to take few pictures of a door and send him. Within 15 min I had a quote, and few hours later two nice guys arrived with all necessary parts and fixed a door. This is a great example of an excellent service. Fast service! But did not tell us how much the repair would cost before they actually made the repair.

I have more of a problem with these guys as a company verses the technician.The two rating is for the office. The tech was on time and knowledgable. The price these guys charge is too high. After agreeing to the job they charged me a service call and did not take that price off even after I committed to the job..... This is a bad business practice even . Most trades remove service calls once you agree to the job. The hours charged was also wrong, I was charged for 2 3/4 hours when this person worked 2 hours 15 minutes and at this rate you need to watch minutes. I called office to ask them to apply service call and reduce the hours to the correct amount. The receptionist said they would have accounting call me. Instead all I got was another bill Via email from K. Taylor.. Sorry but that was is dis respectful. I do not recommend AM/PM unless you have endless amounts of money and your a fool. BUYER BE BEWARE.. There are better companies with reasonable rates and fare business practices please shop around .. read more

I made the biggest mistake of looking at the reviews on yelp after I scheduled a service with AM/PM and got worried when I saw the poor rating. I hoped my experience will be different but unfortunately, I just got ripped off by this company. I explained the problem of my garage door to Valerie that picked up the phone and said that both remote controls don't open it but they open the gate. Valerie asked me some basic questions and have me send her the pictures of the remote control so, they can come out with new ones if I need them. She explained that the fee for coming out is $70 which is the standard of diagnostic services with other vendors so I agreed. The day of the service, she called and wanted to cancel the service because she has a technician that has called and sick. I told her I stayed home based on their promise of showing up and I will call someone else instead of re-scheduling. I wish I just did that. She then agreed to keep the appointment and gave me a quote of the $70 charge and if needed, the lube and oil service and new remotes will be a total of $165. The technicians came and his trouble shooting indicated that my receivers are out and he suggested that the whole system is changed instead of just the receivers, which are not readily available in the market as it is a 1996 unit. His quote for the whole system is $585. I said I will look around and use the service if comparable in pricing with other vendors and I was going to seriously consider hiring them but thought it sounded too expensive. At the end, I anticipated paying the $70, which I thought is the diagnostic charge but I was asked to pay $125. Nothing was fixed but according to their manager Mike and Valerie, they have to do a lube service at a minimum if they show up and the $70 is just a trip charge and doesn't include diagnostic services and they have an additional mandatory 1/2 hr minimum charge so, I was told I am responsible to pay $125. I said if you are charging me $125 for nothing then go ahead and do the lube, which is just spraying oil around the rims of the door. What a joke and what a rip off. I don't recommend this company to anyone. Look around for vendors that have 4 & 5 stars and glowing recommendations with happy clients. My garage door is still not fixed so, calling another vendor to do the actual job and fix my garage door. Sept 2nd, 2015 I meant to update this review by adding, this company failed to keep it's words again and charged my credit card $165 and not what the manager tried to adjust, $125. Another rip off. Just watch out customers. July 6, 2017 Amazing, I see this company is still ripping people off charging $165 just for diagnostics. I see reviews after mine saying the same thing. If you don't want to be charged this much & who knows what for the actual work, save yourself the grief. read more

FIVE STARS WITHOUT RESERVATION. I have a 1927 house that originally had carriage doors that had been replaced by a prior owner with an ugly metal door. I wanted to try to restore the garage doors to the original style but hit the wall finding new doors that didn't cost an exorbitant amount. I went to four architectural salvage yards and finally found one set of carriage doors that were significantly too large, with pealing lead based paint and some rotten boards and cost $11,000 each! AM/PM built two lovely carriage style plywood, paint grade and trimmed doors for a reasonable price. Kelvin and staff spent the time necessary to size and install the doors to fit an uneven garage floor and two odd sized openings. read more

There we were, 3 women with a huge roll up garage door stuck in the "open" position.  We called and called the original installer, but they never answered or returned our call! We googled every garage repair door company online and found AM/PM Door.  Kelvin offered to attempt to talk us thru getting the door closed by telephone.  The door was way too heavy for 3 women to pull it down.  Kelvin asked where we were located.  He offered to send his son and a couple of guys over to help us.  They arrived in 20 minutes and got the heavy door down.  Amazing!! We consider this to be remarkable service and will use AM/PM Door Inc. for all our door needs in the future. read more

Called the Company to receive an estimate for installing an automatic gate. The rep over the phone mentioned that they will have an adjustor give me a call back to set up a time for me to get an estimate. After 3 days of waiting I called back and asked if anyone was going to give me a call they said that the estimators are busy. I asked to be forwarded to someone in charge since i didn't want to sit around and wait for a call back. My call was forwarded to an estimator who said that he lives in the same area as my property and that he would stop by the property during the weekend take photos and call me with an estimate. I was very happy to hear that they were going to help me out and go out of their way to stop by the property over the weekend. However, the weekend passed and i never received a call from anyone. I called back to check on the progress and i was simply forwarded to the estimators voice mail. I left a voice mail for that individual asking for a call back. so far 14 days have passed since my original call to AM PM doors and i still have not got a bid for my drive way gate. I called in to cancel the request for the estimate since at this point i have lost all of my faith and confidence in this company. The lady on the phone seemed very careless about me canceling the estimate and taking my business elsewhere. At this point It was obvious to me that they did not care about my business and their company losing me as a valuable client who has multiple properties in their area and could have used them if i was simply satisfied and attended to instead of being put on the side line. Overall, my first impression of this company is negative and we all know first impressions last a life time . Moreover, my business will go to a competitor simply due to lack carelessness and follow ups. read more

This company totally rocks as far as great customer service. My security gate jammed as I was closing late one night- which meant I could not open for business the next day. First off- someone answered the phone vs. an answering machine or a service. The technician said he would be sure to have someone call me first thing in the morning. Amazing! Someone actually called me early to let me know that a technician would be at my place of business before I opened. 2 people arrived ON TIME!! and they were more than a pleasure to deal with. My only word of caution is be sure to understand there is a service call fee (travel time, gas, etc.) in addition to the pretty high professional hourly rate. When I called to ask why so high, I was told that that is pretty standard because of the ridiculously high overhead with liability insurance, workmen's comp, rent, etc. The person I spoke with was the owner and I have to say- he was willing to explain why my bill was the price it was. I honestly could not argue with him as I own a business and understand how overhead impacts prices. All in all- I would use them again. read more
