by far the best thai food in north carolina!! we've had the pad thai, eggplant stir fry, sweet and sour chicken...and every single one has been phenomenal. the breading on the chicken is delicate and crispy. the eggplant isn't soggy or overcooked. even the rice is fragrant...every bite is full of flavor and hits all the senses. just watch out if you order 4/4 spicy...one of the only restaurants we've found that don't mess around...it's legit thai spicy!!! we always make sure to stop by whenever we're in the area and everything is always on point. we also love the owner...he has a great sense of humor and it's always fun chatting with him. seriously recommend 110% read more

Ordered the Pad Thai and Red Chicken Curry. Both were flavorful and delicious. Lots of fresh veggies, and portion sizes were good. Was expecting to be disappointed by the pad Thai, but happily it had a yummy traditionally flavored sauce (though I prefer flat noodles and a little more caramelization of the sauce on the noodles), and spicy level 3 was perfect hint of spice without dominating the experience. Wife and I finished hiking to the top of Hanging Rock State Park, and was ready for a nice meal. I saw all the 5-Star reviews for this spot, and thought Why Not! WOW - everyone is right. First, we had steamed dumplings/pot stickers - looks just like the picture with a wonderful brown, spicy/sweet sauce. Then, I had Spicy Catfish - outside of the fish was indeed crispy, while the inside was moist and flaky - perfectly cooked. On that was a nicely spicy red curry sauce with bamboo shoots, baby corn, basil leaves, and bell pepper served with jasmine rice. My wife had Ginger Delight stir-fry with chicken - also quite good. My spouse had a delicious dinner served by a non-smiling, grumpy older man. Yes, the food was very good BUT the next morning my spouse had gained 4.5 pounds and me, 3.4. This was not cause by calories, our dinner was salads and vegetables. What caused this was some food additive they used, perhaps MSG, I don't know. What we do know is whatever additive was used it caused serious water retention and swelling and resultant water weigh gain. and we feel awful today. read more

I stopped in here on a whim last night on the last leg of a long road trip. I was hungry, I needed to wash the West Virginia off my hands, and I absolutely did not want fast food. I've a very high standard when it comes to Asian places and I was so very happy to discover that Amazing Thailand lives up to the full 5 stars that people have given it so far. The restaurant looks like most other Thai places I've been, it's open, airy clean. The owner is very friendly and loves to talk to his guests and welcome them as if into his home, and I suppose that in a way he is doing just that. But we come to restaurants for the food and Amazing Thailand really shines. In all seriousness, this is a place that would be at home in any major metro area. Something I'd expect to come across in San Francisco, or LA or NYC. But certainly not in King, NC. The residents of King have their hands on a real treasure. Arguably the best Thai food I've ever had stateside. I highly recommend the Crazy Duck. It was crispy and coated in their special sweet yet spicy sauce, and thankfully not SWIMMING in it like many places do. There was enough sauce to provide the taste but not so much that you couldn't taste the duck meat. The Tom Yum soup was deliciously punchy with a nice amount of spice and a blend of flavors where each stood out. I ordered mine with chicken and it came with a healthy dose of chicken, unlike many places where you get the broth and just enough protein to say it was there. I had a fantastic meal here and even though it's an hour and a half from my home, I will definitely make periodic return trips to King to get some incredible, authentic Thai food. read more

This little hidden gem is awesome. We've been here several times now and have loved everything we have ordered. My husband swears by the General Tso and I always get the Vegetable Combo w/shrimp. I tried to order takeout over the phone and the person who answered could not understand that I didn't want green peas in my curry. I tried everything and eventually hung up in frustration. I still wanted to try their curry so I showed up and had better luck in person, but it wasn't as easy as it should have been. Massaman Curry was very flavorful and truly wonderful, while a Chicken Stir Fry was loaded with veggies and a very tasty sauce. At is situated in a strip mall just off of Highway 52 in King. There were five diners in our party. I had massaman curry, others had pad Thai, stir fried cashews and a range of appetizers. We had General Tso Chicken with Lo Mein noodles and the Spicy Wings appetizer. It was DELICIOUS!!! The ingredients were fresh and beats any of the Asian cuisine I have tried over the years.
