No service, lots of empty shelves. If you don't mind bagging your own groceries, the scan in, scan out is convenient, I guess. Biggest problem with that is that you don't know what you are being charged until you get the receipt in your Amazon account a lot later. It's often wrong. I asked a worker where to find pancake mix; "I don't know" was the answer with no attempt to get me the answer. The fresh food, such as pizza and sandwiches, is often on special, so it's cheap, but it's not really good. It's food. It satisfies hunger. That is about the best I can say. Their roast chickens are small and frequently out of stock. Costco roast chickens are twice the size at the same price. Italian meats for cold sandwiches are frequently out of stock. Ingredients for pizza toppings are often out of stock. read more

Id be a zero star if it was possible. Went to order a pizza from amazon fresh on the app, and the order went through. The app said the order was created, and then shortly followed up saying it was satisfied. So I drove down to Amazon and not only did they not have the order, but they couldn't make the order either. Why would they create, process, and confirm the order when it wasn't even possible. BEWARE read more

What a joke of a grocery store. Not only are most items expensive, but the entire shopping concept is not going to bode well with the typical clientele in the surrounding area. They definitely did not do their market research properly nor did they put enough traditional check out lanes. There is also clearly a fail in upper management in properly training their employees along with the lack of any customer service that you would expect at any other supermarket. The staff is clueless. Clearly this store concept was not executed properly and an embarrassment for Amazon. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. read more

This is the worst supermarket I've ever shopped at. I really don't understand the point of this store. High prices. Poor selection. Lots of out of stock items. Clueless employees. WholeFoods is so much better than Amazon Fresh in all regards. Both are owned by Amazon, go figure. I wish they had kept the Tarzana WholeFoods store open, or just opened another WholeFoods in Encino instead of this poor excuse of a supermarket. The only reason I came to the store was because they sent me a $10 off $20 coupon, and I had a hard time finding the things I'd want to get. Keep it Real Guy went tonight and here is my review, so lets get after it! The store was empty, the food bar empty at 6:30PM. Its a a large, clean store, with trendy looks, but it has to compete with supermarkets such as Ralphs, Pavilions, Gelsons who have been around for more over 70 years! The display of grocery item is just not done right! There were more employees walking around than Customers!! I think the majority of shoppers aren't looking for the hip, trendy grocery store, the concept just doesn't work plain and simple!! The meat department was empty!! you want to see a selection of food from around the world, with a great deli, and market place hot food inside their store go to Jons Market! Not as cool but there food selection and meat selection is 10 times more! Keep in mind Ralphs was the previous tenant the Kroger company who has food for less, pharmacies in every store does in the billions each year in business, they could not make it in that location and vacated! So Amazon Fresh is the new kid on the block they will not make it either! Jeff Bezos stick with what you know, which is not being in the supermarket business, already I hear poor sales, so far a disappointment I'm sorry to say their fate will be like the Titantic! Got a salad at the salad bar for lunch. With tuna. Got back to my office and the tuna was rancid. Couldn't eat the salad and threw it away. Called the store to talk to a manager and got someone who couldn't help me. Guessing it's a centralized call center. She wouldn't refund me. I'm not going back to the store. I'd like someone who can help contact me to issue a refund or I and my co-workers won't be back. read more

I am shocked at this store that is antiquated, overpriced, out of everything that I want to buy. Today, I purchased what I thought was my regular iced tea, but when I left, I saw that it was a different one, and the cap was loose. I went to return it, waited in line for register, and the clerk told me I had to go to customer service. I walked to the back of the store carrying a heavy jug only to wait in line to speak to the manager. As I was waiting, the manager, who was a woman, coughed in her hands several times and then proceeded to deal with the customer ahead of me. I really didn't want to handle my return with her because I was so grossed out! I was waiting for her to either wash her hands or use sanitizer or even more coughed the correct way in the crook of her arm. I had no idea that there were coupons for the store either. I guess you have to discover that yourself. This is a grown woman working in a grocery store who doesn't know anything about contamination or manners. Absolutely grotesque. You would think that people would have learned from the pandemic to practice acceptable sanitary behavior. What kind of animal does that? And now I feel a cold coming on. If I get sick or contract covid you will be hearing from me. I will not enter your store again! read more

It's sad to see that Amazon Fresh is slowly taking over local shops. I really miss talking to people and seeing them at the store. Our local favorite in Tarzana recently closed and it's horrible to see the culture that was created by Whole Foods disappearing store by store. The prices are still at the WF level, but obviously Amazon is trying to make more money by cutting costs. Surprisingly lacking in a lot of things, just quite basic. I also did not notice that pricing was overly competitive (compared to local supermarket chains) to say the least. Maybe I am missing something here, and they are not designed to compete or be compared with the traditional supermarkets, rather designed for a few odds and ends. Anyway, disappointing. Would I use them again? Yes, but I do not feel they are a substitute for a supermarket run, just staple items. read more

I have been shopping here since it opened and also shop at Ralphs. Amazon is far less money than Ralphs but has less inventory. I hate that they do not know how to calculate when to have rotisserie chickens ready for hungry shoppers. The hot bar is always the same foods and their fried chicken is thickly coated and hard. They have a very nice salad bar, better than most stores, because they have actual prepared salads as well. You cannot beat the $1.99 a huge slice of pizza.and the Lattes or Capacinos for a large at $1.99. I bought a huge 64 oz pear juice for only $;93 and it was delicious. They often run out of their brand of milk and because of so many delivery people combing the shelves they run out of items that I want.. However, I find their prices very good and is a good place to grab some things that is right around the corner. The check out lines are always very short and I like that I can drop off my returns to Amazon as well.They could do better and publish a phone number so we can call to see when the chickens will be done! read more

Really easy and quick to buy groceries. Also if you get charged for a wrong item it is very easy to refund.

I live close by and have been shopping very regularly at this Amazon fresh. I go at least twice sometimes three times a week. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. The customer service within the store can be downright horrible. Then again, the customer service when back where they actually have a customer service department I found them to be quite helpful at times. It is the weirdest thing employees gather around in a little clicks like junior high And they're just amusing them self. This happens all the time when I go in I can't believe there's a supervisor why are all these employees laughing and talking to themselves in these little odd groups and not doing their jobs? This is a constant site that I see every time I go there. Groups of employees, in groups of 234 and five just amusing themselves and ignoring customers. It's the oddest thing. I've never seen it anywhere except here you see it every day. I greatly enjoy the barcode check in and check out. They have cameras and automatic sensors that use artificial intelligence to calculate exactly what you put in your cart and what you're going to buy. It's a pretty advanced system. It's not without its flaws often I am overcharged and often I am under charged. They get it wrong quite a bit and I've gone to Customer Service and up where they showed me right on my app. It only takes a few seconds where I can correct , their mistake. I've just learned to accept the fact that this is going to happen a lot but it's still worth it because you get to check in and out so fast you don't have to do anything you don't have to take the items and scan them just put them in the cart and go. The pizza is pretty good. I get the sushi a lot. The rest of the story is like a cross between a Costco a Whole Foods and a Ralph's. The seafood department is quite good. I've gotten Sam in there a lot and in the hot food area they have salmon that they cook fresh every day and it's really good . They randomly have things on sale all throughout the store they change this daily. There are no rain checks it's come with mate. Some of the produce, the produce is a very odd section. Some of the prices are very low and affordable, like bananas for $.15 and often stocks of celery for $.99 and then they have other things that were wildly expensive in the produce department so it's a grab bag and mix. I really like going into the store, scanning my phone and then leaving scanning my phone it's so fast and convenient and for that I will keep coming back to the store over and over. We get eggs here and large containers of juice And they have this one special they have every day for $.89 a very long baguette of bread which is delicious. The frozen foods are a little expensive. The meat section looks excellent although I just eat fish and their fish sections really good. I highly recommend this place. Again the oddity and the bizarreness of the employees just milling around like there is a scene from Mad Max is really autumn peculiar. There is very little oversight. Is my guess from the managers. I really like this Amazon Fresh location. I even like parking lot, lol. They have great weekly sales, you just have to keep an eye out for deals. I was not expecting to shop here that often, half the time my Prime acct isn't even activated, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Obviously the price of everything has gone up, but some items here (salsa! bagels!) on sale or just the Amazon brand are better prices than other stores I shop at. I also like the hot food area (orange chicken?! Hi and yes), and my fav pizza is the $10 ($1.99 a slice) white sauce pizza (a Friday night highlight more times than I care to admit). So in conclusion, I like it here, keep an eye out for deals, the (Amazon?) 'Aplenty' brand has some great crackers, chips, etc., and the Amazon brand $1.99 Caesar salad dressing is awesome read more

The product was good the store is claim the prices are right. But I did not give it five stars because of the employee attitude. Ralphs are used to be there and is famous for extra cheerleader and friendly staff. The deli department staff is always so nice and spunky and yet now that's this is an Amazon fresh you would've thought I was bothering them when I asked him a question. The deli staff was Kurt to customers and yet had time to mess around and talk to one another friendly but not to us. I have never had a grocery store employee so in different and route somebody needs to talk to them about that. It was redeemed however by the friendly and helpful cashier. But they do not take Apple Pay and when I asked to pay some in cash and some on my bank card that wasn't possible?? Meanwhile supposed to be so high tech you can check out without the cashiers yet a cashier can't do one transaction with two forms of payment? We had to do two separate check out? read more

Ugh. What an utterly souless and soul-DESTROYING store. Cold, cavernous and sterile, shopping in this monstrosity of a supermarket makes you feel like a zombie in a futuristic sci-fi movie. Although there is nothing futuristic, innovative or cool about the experience. Unless you count having to have your Amazon passcode read before you can even enter. I should've known at that point this was not going to be good, but still I was curious, wanted to check it out. I went down every aisle in every department. Prices are nothing special and some even higher than a regular supermarket. Agree with other reviewers that employees look unhappy and are decidedly unhelpful and ill-trained. Laughably, you need to show your ID to even get into the area where the wine and beer is kept! And the whole damn ROOM is kept refrigerated! Why??? It's freezing cold and even the young woman guarding that room (sitting at a little table at the entrance looking miserable) was wearing a big puffy parka to keep warm. I smiled and made a little joke about checking my ID (which hasn't happened in decades), and also the near subzero temperature of the room. I received no reply or even a smile in return. Just nothing. She also was completely under trained. When I asked if they offer discounts on six or more bottles of wine (as they do at Ralph's, Vons, etc.) since I saw the little six-pack wine carriers sitting there, she just shrugged and said "I have no idea." Perfect. I had had enough at that point and shot out of that place like a bat out of hell, never to return. Please, for the love of God, don't let this be our future in grocery shopping. The hits keep on coming at this ridiculous store. My cashier had no plastic bags to put my soup in, she looked around and said they did not do that (every other shopping time the cashier had plastic bags for the soup) and would not go to another register to look OR ask the FOUR other useless employees, just standing there gossiping, to look. Also, not one employee bagged my groceries, just helped the cashier PUSH my food items out of the way for the next customer's items. Also, watched a customer STEAL prepared foods through self checkout. A sign said do not stuff the to go boxes with too much food (paraphrasing). But this customer not only filled a large to go box to the top but left it open and stacked about a dozen vegetable rolls on top. If you do not go early the prepared items are decimated. Very, very few prepared items change. I almost always, when I get the need, only get soup and one salad and a good price on ice tea I like. Rarely get much else unless it is a terrific buy. read more
