This review is especially for their Ralphs "Pickup" service. I shop using the Ralphs app. Using all the digital coupons in the app, I do all the meat shopping here. Kroger brand is always the best bargain because it's the parent company of Ralphs. With everything in my digital shopping cart, I checkout and order pickup for free the next day. An employee at this Ralphs finds everything for me and bags it up. They bring it to designated parking spots on the lower level. I very much appreciate this personal shopping service. In the app, make sure to select this Ralphs location for the greatest selection, as it is one of the best in Sherman Oaks. Your shopping Items are kept in a special refrigerated section, so it stays fresh until you arrive to pickup (according to the employee who brought me my groceries last time). If you do end up going inside this Ralphs to shop for yourself, it's one of the nicest ones I've been to in the Valley. Thank you to all employees who make this Ralphs excellent. read more

I placed on online order because it's easier to grab groceries this way after a 12 hour day. I got a call 20 minutes before the pickup window and was told that not only would my groceries not be ready for pickup at the selected time, they would not be ready at all today. But don't worry, I could go pick them up at some random time tomorrow (I work an office job, that doesn't work for me) so instead of guessing when I might get groceries, I contacted customer service to help me cancel. Well only the store can cancel the order, so I got to waste 45 minutes with them only to have to go in and deal with this myself. DO NOT ORDER A CAKE FROM HERE. I ordered two number cakes - a 4 and a 0 - with an ocean theme and 24 cupcakes each for a party for 45 guests. The photos on the site showed two rows of cupcakes to make each number, flat gradient blue icing and piped bubbles and seaweed. When I picked it up it was 28 cupcakes TOTAL with a SPONGEBOB theme, NO ocean, piped frosting. I had to remove all SpongeBob and add my own last minute palm trees and flowers to give it a bit of an ocean vibe. The cake was also vile. Attaching a photo so you can see the number of cupcakes we were given. It was too late to fix as I picked it up on the way to the party, thankfully I had the palm trees. This place used to be a gem in the Valley. Now it feels like it's actively trying to make shopping harder. Aisles--especially around the pharmacy--are routinely blocked or cluttered, so just getting through the store can be a hassle. Then there's the decision to lock up a large portion of the alcohol and spirits. I get the intent, but the execution is terrible. I'm not going to stand around waiting for someone to unlock a $5.99 bottle of triple-sec. Literally. --I'll just leave and buy it somewhere else. Which brings up the obvious problem: there's rarely anyone around to help anyway. If you're going to lock up everyday items, you need staff available. Otherwise, you're just creating friction and losing sales. The store overall feels overcrowded and poorly maintained, which only adds to the frustration. It's a pretty stark decline from what this location used to be. At this point, with Trader Joe's, Pavilions, Whole Foods, Gelson's, BevMo, and Costco all nearby, there's really no reason to deal with the hassle here read more

I've always enjoyed coming to this Ralphs. It's so spacious and easy to navigate for how big it is. Great selection of ready made food, flowers, Kosher products and more. Most recently I ordered my son's birthday cake and cupcakes from the bakery and had a great experience. I loved that it was easy to place an order online and they updated the status of my order via text. I ordered a paw patrol sheet cake and paw patrol cupcakes. I feel like the pricing was super fair especially when ordering cake for a large amount of people. Also the paw patrol cake was a hit! You are able to customize your cake as much as you like, but I just had them write "Happy Birthday" on top and I was able to put whatever toppers I wanted. Flavor selection is a little limited, but if you are looking for an easy, quick and affordable option for a cake, Ralphs is the way to go! read more

Went here because I read online that they have a large kosher section as the Ralphs near me have hardly any kosher items. I also saw that they have a kosher deli and saw photos and videos where you could get a made to order sandwich from the kosher deli for less than $8. Apparently they no longer make sandwiches at the kosher deli. They removed the signs and I asked them if they still make sandwiches there and they said no. I was disappointed since I drove at a certain time just to go when the deli was open to get a sandwich :( They did have reasonably priced prepared kosher sandwiches for $7 from a caterer that came with carrots and dip so I picked up a couple of those. Prices overall for the deli items were reasonable as were the kosher baked goods. With kosher foods though, you really have to shop around since they typically come with a premium. The parking lot is a little hectic but there was enough parking when I went on a Friday morning. I could see though when I left it got more difficult. I used self check out and over half the self checkout counters were out of service. Friendly employees. read more

I cannot recall a time where they have been appropriately staffed. When speaking with 2 checkers and 1 person overseeing the "self checkout " I asked if it was from all the free labor due to the "self checkout" They are not paying me, I will not "self" anything. Waiting in line 5-10 people deep is incredibly poor service.... And this is not my normal grocery store, it's just the closest one, which is also the most expensive one. Better alternatives are Super King, Vallarta and you may hate me but the service at Tradee Joes is worth the parking lot. That's all. Avoid this place if possible. read more

I was in my home state recently and always plan to return to my local Ralphs. Starbucks is inside this Ralphs location. I bought a pass and customer service helped me with my transaction. I find Ralphs has semi small aisles; this Ralphs location has semi wide aisles, which I appreciated. Plenty of parking. The location always has an item I'm looking for. Alcohol selection is good. Bakery is very nice. Pharmacy and even key machine copier is in the store. I can get most of what I want from Ralphs. read more

Wow, this is a mega Ralph's! I think I was here once before but I cannot remember when. Parking was easy entering off Ventura, and the entrance was labeled clearly. Taking the escalator up, you practically get lost in here if you are not familiar with the layout. However, I was able to find what I wanted easily, did self-checkout, and was on my way. No need for parking validation since there are no gates (thank goodness I'm in the valley). This location most likely will have everything you need (and then some)! read more

The posh Ralph's - a favorite and a true delight - they recently made more improvements and expanded a few areas Always impressed with the layout and the community as well as valley vibes you get here from start to finish. Great kosher, international, gluten free, plant-based/vegan, vegetarian and baked items. Extensive wine and spirits selections + import, craft and domestic brew/beer. The pharmacy is never busy. Starbucks does good things. The deli is often in flux - mostly only come here for the hummus. The service overall is always personable and you'll find just about everything you need in stock during the week. Weekends are busy, like we know Ralph's was the it spot for a few years like many grocers, but this Ralphs Fresh Fare is still it! Easy parking underground one multiple levels - enter from (as well as exit) Hazeltine Avenue, Moorpark Street or Ventura Blvd. You might spot Colman Domingo, Chloe x Haley, a Real Housewive and a plethora of notable people doing their thing here. If you are purchasing gift cards, I highly recommend going somewhere else. This is the 3rd time I've bought cards and there's always problems. This time, an In-N-Out card. My kid went to use it and the employee said no amount on card. I go online to check at the In-N-Out website and after plugging in all the numbers it shows $30. ‍ I call the number listed at the bottom of Ralph's receipt, it answers but no one there. I've never had a problem with Walgreens gift cards, but they probably have their issues too. It's better to purchase from actual stores. Too much theft otherwise. read more

I have been shopping here for years. But today Leo at self checkout was rude not just to me but to another customer. I saw that customer went to the register to speak to not the manager but someone in charge who also was just dismissive. I was there about noon. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told he was not around. This is my last time at least the girl pretending to be in charge could have apologize for " Leo" a woman not sure she gave the right name. This Ralph's is up there on the bougie scale. Not only is it posh but it's huge! The first time I came here I was intimidated. I was intimidated on my second visit too. My first excursion here was to pick up a birthday cake for a friend. The bakery cakes are fancier than your standard Ralphs. The one I got was decorated with Leopard print frosting. It was perfect because it is her favorite print. My second trip I stopped in to pick up some flowers for a friend because I was meeting her for Happy Hour at a restaurant down the street. They have a very nice selection of fresh flowers and the arrangements are lovely. The produce is nicely displayed and everything is spaced out. There is a dedicated section for Kosher products. You will also find vegan items too. Also included is a Pharmacy, cheese counter, fresh seafood, deli, and so much more. The self-service checkout was easy to navigate. The new aisles around the pharmacy where if you pick up a toothbrush over there you have to pay for it there or take a piece of cardboard to the cashier when you're done is so stupid! The the cashier has to walk all the way over there, hold up already long lines grab your stuff and bring it back. I'm just driving through town and stopped for an electric vehicle charge, which by the way they have in the parking lot, and went upstairs to grab a starbucks. Turns out it's a very nice store. I have been coming to this Ralph's for years. They take care of most of my shopping needs and their staff are top notch. They truly have some wonderful people working for them. And I will miss them. You see, they've recently made it difficult to get personal hygiene items (not a fan of waiting for somebody with a key to buy my deodorant) and have locked up most of the liquor. Worse yet, they moved the bottles to cabinets located AFTER the checkout lanes (which reeks to me of teetotaler prohibition more than "loss prevention"). I've seen this in other stores that I no longer go to (I'm looking at you Hollywood Ralph's) and it's a trend I find disturbing. Look, I understand that shop lifting is a problem. Instead of hiring more people for security or adding cameras, however, they are placing the responsibility of "Loss Prevention" on the shoulders of their own paying customers. They might have less stolen items in the short term, but they will lose money from people like me who used to spend $400-$500 a month there. As they lose money, they'll just fire more people and add more self-checkout lanes, clueless of the fact that what they are really achieving is "Customer Prevention." Their inconvenience and liquor proscription have now sent a regular paying customer over to Albertsons (BTW, they don't charge us for cash back). I will simply trade in my Shell gas rewards for Chevron and spend my money at a store that treats me like an adult. A place that actually values my time and patronage. read more

I dont understand why they even sell these products to people. I found brocoli mostly yellow and yellow zuccini all soft and not usable. I have watched Ralph's supermarket decline rapidly over the past few years. I only go there to get certain gluten free items since my daughter has celiac. Each time I go there, they have discontinued another gluten free product making it difficult for customers to get what they need. They have also cut the number of people bagging groceries to one or two for about 9 checkout stands. While bagging your own groceries is not the biggest deal, if you need an extra bag you will be charged for it. When I tried to talk to a manager today about the decreasing of gluten free products, she was totally unresponsive. She was at a check out stand but there was no one there at the time. She never made any effort to move forward when I asked her if I could talk to her and I landed up having to talk so loudly that every could hear which was uncomfortable and she couldn't hear or care what I was saying but to brush me off and tell me they have no control over what head office sends them. If they reposted back that customers were requesting certain items, I am sure it will be considered or we could order cases directly from warehouse. There is a lack of caring about the customer which is not understandable. read more

I love this Ralph's on Ventura Blvd. & Hazeltine. Deli counter clerk & butcher are pleasant & helpful. This Ralphs always have a great bargain & selection of everything. I mostly enjoy going there because of a nice lady at the Flower Department named Flor. She goes above & beyond for the customer. She's kind & always willing to help you with a smile. Always have a great bargain on the flowers. I used to go to the Ralph's on Burbank Blvd. & Van Nuys since I live close by, but the customer service there is the WORST. This is for the pharmacy at this Ralph's. I had a great experience in getting two complex prescriptions filled. My insurance has a policy that was making things way more expensive from the way the prescription was written. Which the doctor had done originally to make things easier for me. At the pharmacy two wonderful people worked diligently with the 2 prescriptions to help get the prescriptions filled timely. They listened and understood what I was needing right away. I recommend this pharmacy for great knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful customer service. read more

I like this location even though it is not a street level. It is big and I get to finish my steps . Upon coming up the escalator or coming out from the elevator, the fresh produce greets and welcomes you with their vivid colors and freshness. You just felt like getting one of each. Service is good. THIS IS FOR THE PHARMACY ONLY AND ITS VACCINE SERVICE: EXERCISE VIGILENCE WHEN GETTING VACCINES HERE I went to the pharmacy for a vaccination and was repeatedly asked my name and birthdate. Then I was repeatedly asked what vaccines I wanted. Please note I speak at a good volume and a standard American accent. Then I wait for the vaccine Finally things are ready! I am told, "James, hold out your arm." My name is Lawrence. I looked at the case of the man they confused me for. His initials did not match mine. I immediately refused the vaccines as I had lost confidence in the pharmacy. How much of a mix up was made? I am promised a call from the manager in a day. 3 days later I get the call. I call the pharmacy back and am listening to wait music for almost 15 minutes. The people I speak to do not seem to know what is going on. Finally, I speak to someone who refers me to another department. "Have that department phone me, I state. The reply: "No, they don't do that. You can call them." I have great concern and empathy for medical professionals, I was one myself for many decades. I blame unseen upper management for these serious errors, not the people I talk with. Understaffed, asked to do yeoman's work every day. Furthermore, I am consternated by the turn over of staff. I have been coming to this pharmacy since its opening. Maybe pharmacists don't want to work here due to management concerns. And the fact that Ralphs has recently taken over Rite Aid's business will not be accepted as an excuse. If they can't do the job, stop doing the business. I would like to know other readers relation with the pharmacy and vaccines. Thanks for reading this. For the record, we love this store. They have Clover Milk! Sadly, they do not have Gulden Draak; neither does Pavilions. Ralph's in Woodland Hills, does carry the Belgian ale. Alina (the cashier) is the absolute best! The store as a whole needs to work on having paper bags readily available at ALL times. The bottom parking level needs some TLC and the organic section of produce needs to be expanded. The general manager (AI) is generous to the community and chamber of commerce events. The staff are always professional, on point and ready to help at a moments notice. Ralph's as a whole needs to get rid of the 50¢ charge for the customer receiving money back for using a debit card! Idea: just use the 10¢/bag fund to off-set the immense effort it takes to have cash on hand for those people who do not want to be charged a fee to access the same account conveniently debited to the store for the current grocery purchase. Maybe we want to spend a little cash on an ice cream cone across the street without it turning into a line item on our bank statement. Maybe we want cash in our pockets on the weekend and evenings when the banks are closed. I believe criticism of business is a consumer's gift to the recipient. And while I highly doubt anything will change, it is a record of what the public wants at this date and time. read more

I didn't get her name but the woman working the cheese department tonight around 8:30pm went ABOVE & BEYOND. Give that girl a raise!!! I love cheese but I haven't ventured too far into trying different types. Something today told me to look at some cheeses and boy am I glad I did! She recommended me a great Brie since she saw me looking at the Brie cheeses. She tried to ask more detail as to what I was looking for, but I admitted I had no idea, lol. She also offered us a sample of a cracker that pairs well with the cheese and it was so good we had to buy some! We went to check out right after this and I was shocked to see her again while we were waiting in line... she literally came looking for us to offer a fig spread sample to pair with the cheese and crackers.
