A really good place for some great Dosa (& South Indian varieties) and tiffin options in particular when it comes to Veg restaurants in the neighborhoods of Artesia. The restaurant lives up to its reputation for the original Tirupati branch. THE FOOD: We got Sambar Vadai, Paneer Dosa, Batura with Chole and Batura with Paneer along with rose milk. Sambar Vadai was spicy to some extent and probably because it was hot we felt more. It's soft and nicely made. The Paneer dosa was very good, and the paneer tasted great as well. The Batura was excellent. Not so oily and seemed like it was fried in fresh oil. The Paneer gravy was kind of decent not the best but the Chole was so good. Been here 6 years before and it still remained the same: good at quality and quantity. Rose milk was usual like any other place. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The place is well lit and gives a typical Indian hotel vibe. The restaurant gives a nice feel of having a good home made food especially the spice levels are pretty normal and sits well on your tummy. The staffs and waiters are extremely friendly, fast and make things easier while ordering/ serving and they still allow you to sit and dine past the closing time (unlike SriKrishnaVilas of Cumming,GA who really need to learn from them on how to value customers). Excellent customer service. BOTTOMLINE: A very traditional South Indian restaurant that excels when it comes to South Indian food items and tiffin, with some amazing Customer service and great ambience with good quality food and priced reasonably well for the quantity offered. Would highly recommend. MY PICKS FOR YOU: Dosa varieties, Chole Batura, South Indian Meals

Ok, so...we were planning on going to Awaze Ethiopian, which was upstairs....but we couldn't figure out how to get upstairs... ok, granted, we didn't try very hard...because we saw the sign for Bhimas Vegetarian, and were very intrigued. Whenever we can have dosas, we will have dosas. So, sorry Awaze. You are on our list for next time! When we walked in, there were only two tables available, and throughout the meal, there were always groups of people waiting at the front. This is a total casual place, kind of chaotic and bustling, like a cafeteria, and we loved it. We got a masala dosa and the onion and chili uttapam, and also the chicken 65. Why is it 65? We don't know. But we got it and it's vegetarian, and totally delicious. And very very spicy. We tried to ask for things to be not so spicy, but no cigar. My mouth burned while I kept eating because it was SO DELICIOUS. Thankfully had the foresight to also get a mango lassi. Will definitely be back.

Was walking around Pioneer Blvd when we stumbled upon Bhimas! We were hungry so we decided to go for an early dinner. There were a couple people in the restaurant around 6pm. We decided to get chili bhajji, plain pesarattu, and channa bhatura. Chili bhajji (2.5/5): Good quantity (about 4-5 bhajis), but could have been fried for longer. The dough was a little soft. Additionally, the chili wasn't very spicy. Plain pesarattu (3.5/5): My dad enjoyed the pesarattu - there were chilis and onion inside which gave the dosa a nice flavor. However, he said taste-wise the chutneys were very average and they didn't taste fresh. Pesarattu was a bit oily as well. Channa bhatura (4.5/5): Delicious! Very filling. Not much I would change - the only thing is that the bhatura is massive but the amount of chana given on the side is somewhat small so the ratio was off. Overall, the channa bhatura was tasty, the pesarattu was average, and chili bhajji missed the mark. Service was good. If I am in the area, I would come back for the channa bhatura.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Sitting on their large patio in the evening gave us a very different vibe as compared to other restaurants in this area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Edison bulb lighting bathed the spacious patio in a warm glow on a cool summer evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They are dog friendly as well on the patio, which is a welcome relief for those of us with fur babies and they cater to them with the same love and professionalism as they do with us, asking if our pup would enjoy a bowl of cool water, which we very much appreciated![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and made solid recommendations. Food is authentic - we are from the south and the north parts of India, hence grew up with this cuisine. Dosas were amazing. Aloo was spread throughout, rather than only being concentrated in the middle. All the condiments were on point. Podi (mix of spices and roasted dal) was so good, I sprinkled it on everything! Uthapam was on point as well and the vegan chicken 65 was out of this world! So good. Highly recommend! In fact, we're heading there this weekend for our weekly fix, hope to see you there!

Stepped into Bhima's for lunch today and had a great experience from start to finish. We were seated immediately and our order was taken right away. The food came out incredibly fast--within about 10 minutes--without feeling rushed or sloppy. The mini tiffin is always a steal for the price and one of the main reasons we keep coming back. It comes with tea or coffee, masala dosa, sambar and vada, ven pongal, and sweet rice, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. It's a perfect option if you want to sample a large portion of everything. My mom ordered the veggie biryani, which was flavorful and satisfying as well. Service really stood out this visit. The staff checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was okay, and everyone was friendly and attentive. Another big plus is that the plaza offers free parking when you dine here, which makes stopping in even easier. Overall, Bhima's consistently delivers great food, quick service, and a comfortable dining experience. This has been--and will continue to be--our go-to spot for a reliable, delicious meal.

Delicious paper and paneer dosa with great lassi. We've had dosa across India and Southeast Asia, and this was excellent. Friendly staff.

You have to take an extra few minutes to find it, but when you come here, it is the most welcoming spot imaginable! Wonderfully welcoming staff, delicious South Indian and Chinese options, veg chicken - reaching from crazy spicy to mild, according to our needs! Topped my lunch off with it delicious cup of pour coffee. You can't go wrong here - the choices are varied and special. My only little suggestion is to play Indian Montessori music instead of western!

The food here is authentic south Indian cuisine from various regions in South India, we had the Masaladosa and the Thali dinner plate, which was comprised of about seven or eight different small bowls of food all vegetarian every single thing was excellent, including the rice, including the dessert, we loved our dosa. It was filled with potatoes and veggies, and came with three different sauces. this place was 10/10 we loved our server Rama. He was very attentive and kept checking back with us to see what we needed and made our whole dining experience very special. Ask for him he is an excellent server.

My family and I had a large party and wanted to eat dosa! So we decided to get Bhimas Vegetarian a try. The kids ordered cheese dosa (which came with Sambar and chutneys)! They loved it. My husband ordered the Andhra non-spicy king Thali which he loved very much! So many flavors and so much to enjoy. I ordered Mix Veg Cashewnut dosa and loved it also! So much flavor, the cashews and veggies in my dosa were fantastic and all the sambar, chutneys were wonderful. Such a huge portion! My sis ordered the veg kothu paratha which was a bit spicy but very delicious! The service was okay, they checked on us a few times but there were times where we had to ask for things. They were very busy. Overall we had a wonderful experience and can't wait to come back!

Food taste and quality of service were consistent and exactly as the way I remembered 6 years ago. Simply divine food and reminded me of eating at the actual Bhimas in Andhra Pradesh. This restaurant deserves more love compared to it's non-veg counterparts in the locality.

Thanks to my Vegan SoCal group for the recommendation!!…read moreAfter a fun day as a vendor with my daughter, Rachel, in Long Beach, in my Vegan SoCal group recommended PlanTitas, among others. YAAASSSSSS We were STARVED and even my Omni daughter loved everything!! Women owned, family business that is top notch Vegan Mexican food!! We started with Elote Fried Corn Ribs. That sauce!! I ordered the Taco Plate with Al Pastor & Jackfruit Carnitas, and side order of an Asada Taco. Rachel ordered the Flauta Plate. Chef Aileen came to our table to check on us, after her niece (our server) let her know we came because of a FB group recommended. She was ... where are your chips? We make them fresh to order... so we added chips & guac. OMG Then she came back later, checking in again, we were so happy, and how I was wanting the Aguachile next time. She says, wait, I have extra from another order, you can try. Light, fresh, spicy, similar to ceviche, yet more complex flavor. Dang. Yeah, gotta come with Jennifer!

She was rude, short and clearly had no serving skills. On top of this the food was meh. Nothing stood out. The corn ribs were the only thing we liked but it's also a simple item that anyone can make at home. We tried the churro dessert- the churros were rock hard... $14 for rocks was criminal. The ice cream was good but I'm assuming they don't make that in house. Overall disappointed. Not worth the drive and the 10 minute time to find parking. The vibe of the place itself felt pretty gloomy too. I unfortunately don't think this place will be open much longer if the quality of food/service doesn't improve.

Came here for my husbands birthday dinner. I have been here at one other time for a friend's party…read more We had about 16 people with us. It was extremely affordable, considering how many people we had. Including all of the food,.. two whole chickens as well as two pizzas along with salads and breadsticks and brisket as well as ribs and some other stuff and drinks we paid under $400 for everyone. When I tell you by the time we got to the outside patio to sit down the gentleman at the front was all ready bringing out the appetizers. He was so kind and friendly. I wish I could remember his name... Really nice guy. We had several kids there and no one complained about the noise or kids running around a little bit outside. The restaurant is clean and welcoming with a warm ambience from beautiful lights hanging everywhere. Definitely coming back!!

Though National Pulled Pork Day isn't until October 12, Stonefire Grill is celebrating it a little…read moreearly by offering their pulled pork sandwiches for half off. Or better yet, they brought back July's 25th anniversary special, though the price for this year is a little higher than last year, but still not a bad deal. And just like last year, rewards members could get the pulled pork sandwich for half off once per day from Friday to Sunday of that weekend. I went on Saturday at about 11:30 AM, and there wasn't a long line to order, but Juan was the only employee ringing up customers at the register. It took several minutes since the customers in front needed plenty of time to place their orders. During my wait, I saw the menu had a section for Wood Fired Grill, where Pulled Pork was an option for a personal meal. Actually, they had two options for the pulled pork: a 6 oz serving for $15 and a 10 oz serving for $20. However, neither option would qualify for the half off as there is already an option for pulled pork sandwich under the Burgers, Sandwiches & Tenders section of the menu. Based on the price tag, I'm guessing that sandwich is equivalent to the 6 oz serving, but the personal meal would also include two breadsticks on top of a side. The sandwich that is half off would only come with one side. With the exception of Stonefire's Beans, all of their sides are vegetarian. Wait, beans aren't vegetarian? Not here! When I asked Juan to remind me what Stonefire's Beans were, he mentioned there was tri-tip inside, and I was immediately sold! It's also their most expensive side, at least for personal size, so unless you're vegetarian, I would highly recommend selecting Stonefire's Beans as your side. I also did ask Juan about the Cornbread Casserole since I didn't recall seeing that on a prior visit. He said that they honestly should have removed the word "casserole" as it's pretty much just cornbread, but with serrano and some other ingredient that I can't quite remember what it was. Could be worth trying in the near future, but I really wanted the Stonefire's Beans now that I know it contains tri-tip! I also asked for a water cup to finish off my meal. I sat at the table closest to the rear for easy access to the BBQ sauce dispenser as well as the water. Well, almost. When I tried to get water, the beverage dispenser starting rumbling as if to make me think it was going to explode any second! I ended up getting Vitaminwater in my cup instead. And I also made sure to get not one, but two cups of BBQ sauce for my sandwich and beans. There was an employee who was on break sitting directly across from me, but he should have been in the break area instead, which is just a little further to the back. On top of that, I had to hear him watch a soccer game on his phone during the 7-minute wait for my order. After dropping my order off in front of me, the employee asked if he could get anything else. I didn't see any utensils on the tray, so I asked if there were utensils. He spoke so fast, but was looking in the direction of the counter I was just at minutes ago getting BBQ sauce. Turns out the utensils were on the other side of that counter, and I should have gotten them first, though without a plate at the time, they really expected me to set the utensils directly on the table? Anyways, I did like the presentation of the Pulled Pork Sandwich as it seemed like a mountain of slow-cooked goodness waiting to be devoured! The Stonefire's Beans were a pretty good portion size too, like a $10 serving of soup at any other eatery. Knowing that the Pulled Pork Sandwich could use some BBQ sauce from the getgo, I poured the sauce in the sandwich, which immediately boosted the flavor profile by quite a wide margin! The cole slaw, unfortunately, was not an asset to the sandwich as it fell flat in taste and didn't supplement the pulled pork or the BBQ sauce very well. But the Stonefire's Beans? Oh yes, remember when I said I'd recommend choosing that as your side, assuming you are not vegetarian? Knowing that there was tri-tip in the beans really made the beans that much better than those from, say, a Tex-Mex spot. They could have used more flavor, so I added some more BBQ sauce to the beans. Mmmmmmm...BBQ Baked Beans with some tri-tip! Oh yes, I'm sure Homer Simpson's mouth would be salivating if he were reading this review lol. Unfortunately, the pickle slices were placed directly on the tray as opposed to the paper that was supposed to cover the tray. Why don't they just use a small cup for the pickle slices instead? Juan seemed like a pretty cool employee, even making sure that the half off reward was on my account and that it applied to my order before requesting payment. Overall, I'm still giving 3 stars for this experience, but there's some improvement I can see from my last visit; there's just not enough for me to give 4 as there were several shortcomings that I really needed to put out there in this review.

Revisit? Definitely. Great for weekend breakfast…read more Sunrise Cafe never disappoints. It's just what a casual diner should be: delicious, generous with the portions, and efficient. I usually order the Popeye Omelet with home fries and toast. Everything is seasoned well and the ingredients taste fresh. Other things I've tried include the Chilaquiles, French Dip, Kids Scrambled Egg Breakfast with French Toast, and Posole. Everything is classic and reliably good. You'll think, wow, I'll probably need a box to-go, but somehow you'll eat it all in one sitting! Sometimes you have to write your name down at the check-in stand out front in order to get a table. But I've never had to wait too long. The servers really pay attention to anything you might need without rushing you or asking lots of questions. So I think that's how they keep the wait time short. The vibes here are just 10/10 for a family breakfast. Our toddler likes watching the model train that circles the upper windows of the restaurant. I really enjoyed their Mexican dishes but preferred the breakfast menu overall. The hobo omelet and breakfast potatoes had great flavor. However, the biscuits and gravy were disappointing, tasting like store-bought biscuits and canned gravy--probably from Costco or Sam's Club.
