First timers in ordering out from Amberjack. Super fresh and well presented sushi. Very impressed and pleased to have tapped into this local gem.

Reviewers decrying the lack of authenticity in ethnic food options must be new to Marin County. This is a solid 4 star sushi option for this area, regardless of being owned by a Chinese couple. Parking and seating are limited. + Fish is fresh and generous. The "spicy" roll options (spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, etc.) use chunks of fish instead of a paste as many other places do. This should be enough to warrant a visit. + Rice is the right balance of sticky enough not to crumble, but dry enough to feel the texture of each grain. Surprisingly hard to find a sushi place with good rice. + Agedashi tofu is fried perfectly and served with a tall heap of bonito. Sauce is thicker and sweeter than I like, but would still order again. + The coldest beer I've had possibly ever.

Love love how they pour their sake into martini glasses ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP! Just the kind of place you want to unwind with close friends after a long day at work! Yes, it's a small place so make your reservation ahead. Sushi is nice and fresh. Simple menu that does the trick!

Matt had been talking about Brazilian steakhouse every time he saw something that reminded him remotely of Fogo de Chao, so I figured this opportunity might be of interest to him. Come to find out that the day after I make the reservation he asks if I'd be willing to go a Brazilian steakhouse for the long weekend, so I got to surprise him with the fact that I already had a reservation. I'm not the biggest fan of Fogo de Chao based on my prior experiences there. I do believe that I have been to a Show de Carnes location before and had another great experience, but also Show de Carnes's Memorial Day promotion was slightly better than Fogo's and I much preferred that their location was outside of the city even if on the other side of the bridge. I did have to call the morning of to delay our reservation slightly, but it was taken care of for us without hassle. We even got seated closer to the original reservation time when we ended up running early. There isn't much space to wait in the front lobby area especially on a packed night, but everything looks very upscale from the wine bottles on the wall to the crystals above the self-serve side buffet. As far as mandatory meats, I have a couple of personal rules when it comes to Brazilian steakhouse, including go light on the sides and only go for the beef. Picanha is my favorite, extra rare too, so I made myself a whole pincanha meat salad while probably giving the guy cutting the meat a good scare. The grilled pineapple is also a must, followed by the cheese and honey. Matt got a lot more variety but it takes a while for the guys to come around with meat that has already been sliced up some so I can get to the parts that I like. We got a papaya cream and passion fruit mousse for dessert, which we probably really didn't need but enjoyed thoroughly as we are both dessert people. As it was a busy night, it was not too easy to flag a server down. I saw picanhas skip our table left and right so I'm not sure there's an established route for them to bring the meat around. The staff did seem to work together with great teamwork, and someone always stopped by to make sure we had more water and our choice of sides. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that is a protein or all you can eat fan. The regular price per person is definitely steep in my humble opinion, but if you can catch a promo it'll be a great time. Also, don't choose between still or sparkling, ask for tap. I will not be getting got again next time.

Funny fact ~ we arrived without reservation and were asked if we would mind if we could please finish our dinner within 2 hours as our table had a booked reservation...we of course agreed and thought it was very professional to let us know instead of turning us away. The food came out hot, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish felt thoughtful and well executed. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance: classy and cozy, but still lively and fun. Buckeye Roadhouse has such a classic, cozy vibe that immediately feels special--you can tell it's a place people come back to. First things first: make a reservation. This place is popular for a reason. The food absolutely did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken dish, and it was hands-down my favorite--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and comforting in the best way. The tuna tataki was another standout: fresh, beautifully presented, and light but satisfying. Every plate that hit the table felt thoughtful and well-executed. And then... the s'more pie. Wow. Easily one of the best desserts I've had in a long time and the perfect way to end the meal--rich, nostalgic, and totally indulgent without being overwhelming. Between the atmosphere, the service, and how solid every dish was, this place instantly went on my "come back soon" list. Already planning to return for a date night because it just has that romantic, timeless feel. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food, a polished experience, and a spot that feels like a treat every time.

Otherwise the food here isn't particularly interesting, and wouldn't have been worth writing about except that on a recent and particularly cold, wet evening I ordered a bowl of my ultimate comfort food, clam chowder. What arrived was such a major departure from the expected I had nowhere else to air the case, so now here we are. What arrived at the table was essentially a kind of thickened clam broth. Not flour & water library paste thick. but with the right pasta would have been an ersatz linguine alle vongole (less actual clams). Or adding potatoes would make it the soup of the day which I've been noticing more often on menus is termed "potato chowder". (about this last I'd like to take issue: how can a thickened potato soup rightly be called a chowder given that in traditional chowder recipes the essential ingredient is in fact potatoes (no? ask google). I figure to a marketing kind of mind calling this bland goo a chowder lends a certain cachet that mere "soup" lacks, for whatever that'$ worth) Where was I? oh yeah, i should add that neither potatoes nor pasta were in this clam soup, but to avoid a claim that the order didn't meet the "clam" description, it did include clams. However the clams were all in shell, half-open and floating or submerged in the broth. Not what I expected and definitely messy to fish them out. And of course, it's a chowder so where were the potatoes? But the clams were fresh and with enough sourdough to add the necessary carb load I decided on this cold wet night not to make an issue of this. So if you didn't complain, well you must have had no complaint... except I did. The bowl of clam chowder I was served looked nothing like the customer photo posted somewhere on your yelp page. I'll just stay with salads.
