Some things in life really don't age well and this theater is a prime example. There's a ghost town feel all around from defunct ticket booths out front to large empty spaces inside, including abandoned food prep stations from their former dine in service. Even though this place was in much better health years ago, I was dissatisfied enough back then to swear I'd never return. Then Yelp hosted a fun event here recently that made me reconsider my decision. Unfortunately, that redemption would be short lived. I returned with my family on Easter Sunday and the first order of business was getting popcorn and drinks. After finding our seats we immediately dug in. I had only taken a couple bites when I found hair in my popcorn. And it definitely wasn't mine! The way it was wrapped around the piece told me that it was there when the kernel was popped. I was totally grossed out! Not only did I refuse to eat any more during the movie (even from a fresh batch), I'm not sure I will ever feel comfortable eating popcorn in a dark theater again. It's obvious that higher prices don't equal better hygiene practices here because the popcorn (along with everything else) is outrageously expensive. The fact that the condiment stations were dirty and the floors were sticky, before the first showing of the day, was a big clue that I mistakenly overlooked. Not surprisingly, I'm finally done with this theater and probably all AMCs for that matter. read more

Tonight was there worry experience I ever encountered in a theater. First as a Stubs member my pre purchased tickets wouldn't scan and register. The rude customer did-service person who couldn't get her remote to work properly kept telling customers WeE needed to harbor QR codes ready which decide or tickets. Welp. Their ticket machines haven't worked in like other theaters. So we and others went that service center. That person was pleasant and apologetic. Time was running out so some of us went to our seats while I sent my daughter and her friend for food. This same rude ticket scanner left cam up to them While they were waiting for the order to be filled and accused them of stealing merchandise on the shelves! Insisted to empty their pockets! Guess what? They had nothing of AMCs snacks. I wish my daughter would have called me because this woman would have had to contend sigh me. So for Service and a waste of $80+ dollars in tickets a 0. Food, 0What kind of mystery meat are you serving for chicken nuggets??? It was awful. That was $60 wasted. Ambiance ? Seriously! Get new furniture! The most uncomfortable old chairs. Do not waste your time and money going to a convenient theater close to the mall. Go to Cinemax 5 minutes away or Hooky in Southlake. Be treated way better, rest better and have a lot more comfort to enjoy your movie experience. read more

Tonight we watched #FreakierFriday in auditorium 16. This room was set at a comfortable air temp, didn't need a jacket and wasn't burning up. The seats were clean and in good condition too! I liked our dj that played while we waited for the movie to start. Alot of the 2000s hits were played! Additionally, there were plenty of spaces to park, no issues. First time here for a screening of the Fantastic Four: Small Steps in July 2025. Amazing fan presence here on this evening, as the cinema was filled to capacity! Stadium seating, with plush seats and an incredible sound system. In sitting at the very top of the seating area, the view was still very good. Outside of the theatre, concessions were plentiful, yet not over the top expensive (priced just right7. Th bar area? Yeah, good luck with that. At least it is there. The employees here are genuinely enthusiastic, and pleasant to talk with. My sole complaint? Turn the lights on after the movie is over. I was quite surprised by how many people had to use their cell phone flash lights to maneuver through the rows to get to the exits. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm not sure if this is normal, or just an anomaly- it can be a potential safety risk, AMC! Parking here is simple- just find any space, and walk toward the area that has the multiple exterior ticket booths. AMC Grapevine Mills is huge, and it is easy to miss the entrance into the theatre. Just follow the others in front of you toward the mall area, where you will see the ticket booths plus front entrance. Overall, a good environment for anyone to enjoy. 5 stars for the quality venue & customer service., yet -1 star for the turned off lights aspect at the end of a movie. read more

The auditorium itself was spotless, and the reclining seats made it super comfortable. Even the popcorn was fresh. Love coming here for the Dolby Screen they have. Sound like no other theater I've ever been to. Always clean with comfy seats. Staff and food is fine? No better or worse than most movie theaters. Wow I don't even know how to start. In 2025 where you pay $20 per ticket. Avoid this theater at all costs. Cleanliness -1 There was still popcorn in my seat and the armrest was sticky from what I hope was soda. Seating/comfort - 1 I don't even know where to start with this. The seats and armrests are in various states of disrepair. In an age where the bare minimum is a reclining seat. A regular seat that has is in disrepair and just not comfortable The only saving grace and why it even gets 2 stars is this is one of the only imax theaters close by but my understanding is that modern technology has caught up to imax so that may not even really be a plus anymore. All in all I can't begin to describe what a POS this theatre is for a full price theaters. There are dollar theaters where I may or may not have wheels on my car when I come back that are in better shape than this. I will never come back here again. read more

Despite saddling them with the sheriff's badge of one star in this review, I have no beef with AMC in general. With as many locations as they have it is usually a standardized experience that it is all fine, maybe not fully automated luxury gay space communism like we're all looking for when we have at least four sawbucks burning a hole in our pockets, but still fine nonetheless. But then there are locations such as this particular one which drag the average down precipitously. As many other reviews note, parking is not ideal. This is in a huge mall area sharing a single parking lot with LegoLand and a bunch of other large draw venues. My rental car also got keyed during the time I was watching a movie so it is not a particularly high end clientele you will be sharing the single parking lot with. It was a rental car, no political/personalization bumper stickers to make anyone mad, and it was parked within the lines, so I am not particularly sure why my rental drew someone's ire so much that they felt the need to key it, but it lets you know there are no cameras anywhere in the lot for security. So I obviously wouldn't recommend anyone come here since (a) you already have notice that crime happens in the lot, (b) there were no cameras to capture the tortfeasor in action, and (c) no security response of any kind. The ticket taker person at the front of the AMC was the high point of the experience, she was friendly and directed me to which end of the AMC my movie-film would be in. Now we have the rest of the miserable experience. I looked at the AMC webpage and googled to confirm ahead of time this location did not have Dippin' Dots - the AMC webpage would not let you order them online at this location, the AMC webpage did not have it on their online menu either, and several google results said this location did not have Dippin Dots. What did I see when I walked over to the snack area and waited in line? They had a freezer for Dippin Dots. You filthy, filthy liars. Unfortunately the freezer was not set at the correct temperature so I purchased my Dippin Dots and walked into the theatre expecting to eat them straight away. But it was frozen into a solid block of ice, since the freezer was not set at the correct temperature. I have been eating Dippin Dots for over 25 years, I know a thing or two about how they work, that was the only good part of my first job as a teenager that way back then, before they really caught on elsewhere, I could get them every shift to make working a minimum wage job with insane micro-managey rules more palatable to a surly teenager. It took 20 minutes to thaw enough I could jam my Dippin Dots spoon (tm) in there and actually eat the dots, that is how incomprehensibly poorly the Dippin Dots freezer was set at. Just let me eat my dots in peace, don't make me stare at a block of ice for 20 minutos. As if that was not bad enough, the seat I was assigned to was on its last legs and literally broke in the full-on recliney position as soon as I got in it and the motor would not move it back any. So I had to spend the entire movie-film at a full hospital bed tilt. It was like "netflix and chill" without the netflix, just a 40something year old man trying not to fall asleep during the movie-film since this was bed angle, not movie theatre seating angle. The gentlesir's restroom was also filthy, it easily could have been on par with one in a Greyhound restroom except for the fact you know it would actually get hosed off at least once this decade in the Greyhound stations in Buffalo and Detroit I have been in for hockey reasons over the past few years. In short, I find nothing redeeming about the movie going experience at this pee pee soaked heckhole. AMC? More like Ain't Comin Here (dyslexia, it checks out) read more

I came here with my family to watch special viewing of Avatar way of water on the imax screen and the staff there is so incompetent. The movie started late and it started with sound with a black screen, no film. My spouse had to go get the staff FOUR times and they were very nonchalant about it simply said we're trying to fix it. Then after several tries the film finally started correctly from the beginning but the theater lights didn't turn off!! Again my spouse had to go and tell the staff. And we realize it was 3D and the ticket scanner never gave us glasses so again my spouse had to go get glasses!!! I visited here for the first time last weekend to watch the Deadpool movie and had a pretty good time. The whole experience is pretty average for going to see a movie in theaters. First, parking can be extremely hard to find in the afternoon on the weekend. There is a big parking lot shared with the rest of Grapevine Mills Mall, so may take a minute to reach the theater depending on how busy the rest of the mall is. Second, you can either buy tickets in advance online or at the outside kiosks before heading inside the theater. Unfortunately as it can get very hot outside these days, the only way to really enter the theater is by having a ticket in advance as there's not much of a public waiting area. Once inside, there are only a couple theaters, but the food and beverages seem to be standard theater prices (read: highly overpriced). I did enjoy watching on the large IMAX screen with heavy surround sound. read more

When AMC renovated half of the building for the dine-in auditoriums, it was an incredible experience. Back then, the food was above standard bar food experience. For instance, they had Parmesan truffle fries and I made sure to order them every time I went. That was when the company was willing to invest money. Fast forward to tonight. It was my first dine-in experience at their theatre in the post-pandemic era. Previously and in the future, when I wanted to dine-in, I went to The Colony most of the time. A couple weeks back when I saw a movie at their Dolby Cinema, it appeared the Dine-In experience was in full swing. Sadly, I had not checked the recent reviews. Walking toward the auditorium, I was puzzled why printed menus were in the hallway. Then I saw the notices on each entrance door that we had to order at the concessions counter. In the past, I had always ordered dinner as soon as possible and dessert an hour before the credits. The young employee informed me that if I ordered dessert with my dinner, I would get both at the same time. As I did not want the ice cream in the brownie sundae to melt as I ate my dinner, I realized I would need to leave the auditorium during the movie to order dessert. While giving my order, I handed the employee my AMC Stubs card to get points for the order. He looked at it asking if it was a credit card. I never encountered this problem back in the day I could order from my seat. When I got the Southern Style Chicken Tenders, I was surprised it was packed in various takeout containers. Instead of metal utensils and several large napkins of the past, I was given a packet containing flimsy plastic utensils and a single napkin. I did not realize how flimsy the utensils were until later. The majority of the visits, I order chicken tenders (fish & chips back when they were on the menu) because they are finger food. While watching a movie in a dimly lit room, I can feel for the food. Although not mentioned on the menu, the chicken tenders came with a container of cole slaw. As a result, the chicken tenders are not entirely finger food. At the time during the movie I would have signaled an attendant to order dessert. I left the auditorium and walked back to the concession counter. Again, when I handed the AMC Stubs card, the employee did not know what to do with it. Before I went back to my seat, I went to refill my fountain soda. They had ran out of plastic straws and restocked with paper ones. Unlike their plastic straws, their paper straws are significantly smaller. Sometime after I returned to my seat, I got my Warmed Brownie Sundae and discovered the flimsiness of the plastic utensils. By the time I got my dessert, the brownie had started to cool and harden. The plastic spoon would bend as I would cut a piece of the brownie. I could not eat the entire brownie as I was afraid the spoon would break. Clearly, AMC is trying to reduce costs by eliminating the staff required take orders while diners are seated. Their nearby competitors allow customers to order food from their mobile apps without interrupting their movie going experience by leaving their seat. Why can't a major chain update their app to do the same? Since the food is served in takeout containers with utensil packets, I see no reason why dine-in needs to be exclusive to the dine-in auditoriums. If corporate had not already allowed it, they may soon offer the experience of food delivered to their IMAX and Dolby Cinema auditoriums. A benefit of the new cost-cutting experience is the lack of tipping. Since diners are ordering their meals at the concession counter along with movie watchers who are buying popcorn and candy, there is no request for gratuity. At least, not yet. read more

An okay movie theater this is. What I liked with this first visit were encountering the nicest ticket agent, the matinee price, and, finding "Belfast" still being shown on their screen. What I was cringing about was the musty smell in theatre #22. But, though it's no longer required, with having my mask on, it blocked the smell; and, when the lights went off and with the previews and ads started, I smiled for being transported once again to an adventure not to be felt with television. Amc grapevine is in a rough state and needs some tlc. Seats need an update, some of the seats are from the 2000-2005 area when I came here in High school/college. Others are newer like the ones I took a picture of; but they are the akward pre-recline "fancy seats" that almost imply you are coming with one other person. I have not been in a theater here with reclining seats in the last 5 years of seeing things in their different rooms. When compared to all of the other local theaters that did full recline seating at least by a few years ago. The restroom is still set up design wise as it was back then too. So for the price of tickets it's hard to justify coming here when there are other theaters near by with nicer seats and lower prices. I even avoid doing their 3 movies in x amount of time membership cause this is my closest amc and it's still a bit of a drive. We mainly come when it's convenient to us doing stuff at the mall. They do have a sign up front now about no outside food and drink. I haven't had issues "sneaking in a drink" as others have. I just make sure it's in my purse or in a bag or plastic bag with some other items. The employees don't care enough to enforce the no outside food and drink if it means having to argue searching a bag; only if you are being obvious about it. Prices of snacks are on the high end of theaters so I only tend to get something if I have a bday reward or other reward. I do give them props for the dyi popcorn butter and refillable drinks. Staff is hit and miss; like today the guy checking tickets was nice ... but the guy doing concessions was obviously annoyed to be there. Though I give him credit; I showed him my birthday reward he just gave it without bothering scanning my rewards app. So theoretically I could come get another one; but also shows the level of not caring. Cause in turn I'm not coming out of my way to use it again. read more

I hadn't been to this theatre in years, went this Monday to see Demon Slayer in IMAX mind you I'm used to theatres now having reclining seats at the bare minimum. This location is dated, doesn't look like any money has been invested in renovations, the seats practically have you at a 90degree angle. The seats are also torn with many arm rests being broken. The hall way is super small offering little leg room. Seats rock back and forth but feel like they're not bolted into the ground. I spent 40 bucks for two tickets and another 9 for a drink to share with my wife. Won't be coming back to this theatre unless they do some renovations for comfort you're charging 20+ dollars a ticket money isn't an issue for AMC, also they presold the slayer merchandise to scalpers before the movie even released. The only good thing was the movie and the viewers. read more

No, just no. Don't even check the website, because that snack food you see isn't even available. They'll tell you they haven't had the friendly, smiley wait folks you see on their web site for over 3 years. You get in line at the concession stand, order whatever happens to be available, and wait for your number to be called. And drinks? No. There's a bar, but when we went we waited 20 mins for someone to take our order, only to be told there wasn't a bar tender and just tell him what we wanted (which was limited to wine and beer so don't think you're going to get a delicious fresh drink)! No, all corners are cut to obtain maximum profit AND IT SHOWS. This isn't the theater I remember and used to look forward to going to. It's a sad hapless version of its younger self and the walls literally cry wishing to go back to it's glory days. So disappointing. 10/10 do not recommend, unless the amenities don't matter to you. Your whole experience is going to be tied to which theatre you get into. Some theaters are worth the $18/ticket price point and some are billed for that much but are complete garbage. I would never advise someone to pay full price here - always take advantage of their matinee pricing (30% off before 3pm, daily) because this theater isn't as nice as others in the community. The food is also hit or miss. I have been charged for a large popcorn and given a medium paper bag. The girl insisted it was a large, but every other time we have gone it's been the bucket. Half of the time the popcorn is 35% unpopped or kernels. I get they're just teenagers but it's like $10. I would advise you to go to EVO entertainment in Southlake. The theaters are all the same, the pricing is comparable to Grapevine Mills, but the theaters have heated seats that recline and the food comes out how you would expect. read more
