Where to start... When this place was EVO, it was one of our family go-tos for convenience. Unfortunately, ever since the company split and it became Hooky, the prices went up, while overall quality went DOWN. We decided to give it another chance after the change and went to see Jurassic World. The experience was disappointing from start to finish. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. My husband had something poking him the entire movie, and mine made a loud squeaking sound every time I shifted. Many of the chairs were visibly worn down and in poor condition, which made it hard to enjoy the film. The food was mediocre, which I could have overlooked, but that evening my son ended up with food poisoning, and that sealed our decision not to return. To make matters worse, the sound system was unbalanced, constantly swinging from too quiet to too loud, which made watching the movie even more frustrating. We used to love coming here when it was EVO: bowling, playing games, and catching movies made it a great family night out. Sadly, since the transition to Hooky, it's lost all of that appeal. Until major improvements are made, we won't be back.

This place is amazing. We came in town for a Wedding and though the Reception was the next day we can call our visit to Hooky's the after party. I know that whoever is reading this is thinking the same thing I was thinking. But I was wrong. Going here was a great idea because it gave family who came from all over the country and let me say we had a Blast. It was the perfect place for family to get reunited in a place made for fun. There was Bowling, Food, Games and a Bar. I have to acknowledge Ashton and his Crew who were top notch with Service and Assistance. I can honestly say that Ashton is now part of our family. What a great Manager! He saw to our ever need and made sure the unusual evening went well. The new Menu ( According to them) was great, but let me put y'all on. My favorite Wings are Lemon Pepper. Though they weren't on the Menu they had Lemon Pepper Seasoning. I asked for them to dry rub my full order with it and they accommodated easily. Those were some of the best Wings I've ever had. They should really put those on the Menu. In total we probably ordered at least 4 full orders including the Garlic Parmesan Wings. Burgers were delicious as well as the Loaded Waffle Fries. The Bartender also did a great job keeping our Glasses full. He was busy for a while lol. I should have taken more pictures but I was caught up with family I hadn't seen in a while and it slipped me. Kids loved playing The Games and Adults as well as the kids head a great time Bowling. When coming back to the Dallas area South Lake seems to be a great location that was central to our stay. Hooky's will definitely be in our list of places to visit. Thanks again Ashton for the Service and Hospitality and welcome to the family. BTW, I could out they they also Host parties. That's it's next family plan. Yall'hollaatchaboy!

Went here to see the new SpongeBob movie and I was the only person in the theater! The workers were the sweetest people and they really made me have a good experience because of their amazing customer service! I can't wait to go back!

The seats weren't cleaned before the next movie.

There was no hassle of ordering at the concession stand and taking your selections into the theater. Also, another plus of the dine-in concept is the expanded menu. As soon as we were seated, Maddox, our server, greeted us and asked if we had any questions about the menu. We also asked him what he really liked on the menu. He told us about some of his favorite selections. We weren't in the mood for anything from the bar. I ordered a strawberry lemonade, and my wife and sister ordered diet cokes. We told Maddox we needed a bit more time to look at the menu, so many incredible entrees to choose from. My wife and sister both decided on the Avocado Chicken BLT. It consisted of a marinated grilled chicken breast on toasted sourdough bread. the sandwich was topped with a basil pesto aioli, lettuce, bacon and tomato. I decided to order a new menu item, Hatch Green Chili Chicken Taquitos. The three taquitos were served with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, roasted poblano salsa, sour cream and topped with queso fresco. The theater was completed renovated recently and the recliners were so comfortable. We were also impressed how clean the theater was. We also noticed that all the chair trays were wiped down since they were a bit damp. Right before the movie started our entrees arrived and they lived up to expectations. My wife's sandwich was too much for her, so she shared part of it with me. Undouble, it was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever tasted. In my opinion, the toasted crispy sourdough bread made the sandwich stellar plus the crisp bacon. There was an incredible crunch when biting into the sandwich. There was the perfect amount of marinade on the grilled chicken. The fries were prepared perfectly and had the proper amount of seasoning on them. An incredible entree I wished I'd ordered! On to my Hatch Green Chili Chicken Taquito entree. As an entree, it was a little bit sparse comprising of only 3 taquitos. The platter should have been included in the appetizer/starter area of the menu instead of the entree selections. If they had included some sides, such as beans or rice, the platter would have been elevated. The taquitos were good, but not great. I expected to taste some chunks of chicken in the taquitos instead of a just a melted cheese filling. They did have a great flavor and had that Hatch Green Chili bite, but they just weren't satisfying as an entree. I am glad my wife shared almost half of her chicken sandwich with me. Maybe if I'd ordered popcorn also, my tummy would have been happier. Maddox, our attentive server, took excellent care of us throughout our movie dining experience. To order, there is a button on the front of each recliner. The servers were very prompted fulfilling our every request. We'll be back again REAL soon to watch another flix and explore additional menu options. Lastly, Moviehouse & Eatery by Cinépolis is a GREAT place to see a movie. They have a wonderful projection and sound system and very large screens.

After waiting about 30 minutes, I went to the bar area myself, but no employees were there. I found the manager, Foster Phillips, and told him we had asked for drinks. He responded rudely, said they were understaffed, and told me to go back to my seat. When I asked again since I was already there, he ignored me. We decided to leave and request a refund. Another employee at the bar agreed to help us, but when Foster walked by, I pointed him out to my husband as "the genius" who kept turning off our service button. Even though I wasn't speaking to him directly, he inserted himself, raised his voice, and said we "couldn't talk to him like that." He then refused to help us and threatened to call the police and have us trespassed, even though another employee was already attempting to process the refund. Because he refused to finish the refund and kept escalating saying he will call the police and have us trespassed, I called the police myself and removed my family from the facility. When officers arrived, they walked me back inside, and only then did he complete the refund. I also told him we would not be paying for the bottomless popcorn and drinks we never received. He resisted at first but eventually agreed. When I asked for his manager's contact information or corporate information, he refused and said, "I'm done with you." I had to call another Cinépolis location to get the corporate number. I also have a police case number documenting the incident. This was completely unnecessary and handled very poorly. The manager's behavior was unprofessional, confrontational, and escalated what should have been a simple service issue. I hope Cinépolis addresses this, because no customer should be treated this way.

There were many people in the bar area with plenty of high top tables available. We were guided to the kiosk on the right to print our tickets (purchased online- you choose print ticket then scan your code) or you can purchase tickets there. Printer spits out a ticket. There were signs on ticket counter notifying of 18% living wage service fee for non-bar orders. Non-bar orders = anything ordered once you're in the theatre. Once in theatre, we scanned the QR code and placed our order and paid online. There was no place to add tip so the "living wage service fee" is ultimately them ensuring that the staff get tipped. I don't have a problem with that. The seat covers are nice than the previous tattered ones. Place was clean & a comfortable temperature. Once the previews started and the seats finally filled up, staff started coming around to see if they could take your order. Multiple people checked on us and were all pleasant although it was hard to hear them by that point. We paid $1 for a large water in a cup and $12 for a decent margarita. I did not see a concession you could order your own snacks so I assume it's order from theatre or in the bar area. Because of not great reviews on the food, we ate at close by Lupes before the movie which has super fast service (average tex mex). Will try cinema food in future hopefully. It is easy a pleasant experience for enjoying a movie!

We decided to give this spot a try while watching the new Michael movie. The man who serviced us is friendly but got confused with the order; had to send back one of the trays. The food was very mediocre and overpriced, and I could've honestly bought popcorn for the movie and eat an actual fine dine meal after. I also think our theater screen wasn't clean; because throughout the whole movie I can see a noticeable smudge(?) across the right side of the screen. Seats weren't best quality. Yes it can recline, but so does AMC. There really isn't anything "luxurious" about the place. In total, our three average meals costed about $80. An OK experience, will personally stick to AMC for future showings though.

Setup is strange that they scan your ticket at the counter where concessions are sold. I was the only customer in the lobby. I had to ask the staff how it works versus them greasing or guiding me. The theater was hot and stuffy. While the seats are roomy and they do recline, they are long overdue on being reupholstered. The "leather" is peeling off and not cared for. Even though this location is super close to my house, I don't plan to go back. Too many other options that do it better.

Even though this place was in much better health years ago, I was dissatisfied enough back then to swear I'd never return. Then Yelp hosted a fun event here recently that made me reconsider my decision. Unfortunately, that redemption would be short lived. I returned with my family on Easter Sunday and the first order of business was getting popcorn and drinks. After finding our seats we immediately dug in. I had only taken a couple bites when I found hair in my popcorn. And it definitely wasn't mine! The way it was wrapped around the piece told me that it was there when the kernel was popped. I was totally grossed out! Not only did I refuse to eat any more during the movie (even from a fresh batch), I'm not sure I will ever feel comfortable eating popcorn in a dark theater again. It's obvious that higher prices don't equal better hygiene practices here because the popcorn (along with everything else) is outrageously expensive. The fact that the condiment stations were dirty and the floors were sticky, before the first showing of the day, was a big clue that I mistakenly overlooked. Not surprisingly, I'm finally done with this theater and probably all AMCs for that matter.
