This is probably the theater I've visited the most in the area and by now I think I've been in every theater, from the normal sized ones to the tiny ones. This AMC is a bit unique in their seating arrangements. Some of the theaters are incredibly small, like a dozen seats. Others have seats oddly spread out, like a lone seat or pair of seats in the top corner. This doesn't really impact a viewer's ability to see the movie, just an interesting note. This is my go-to theater, and not just due to location (close to my home and near multiple dinner options). It's within the Marina Pacifica Plaza (across from 2nd & PCH) on the left-hand side, and there's lots of free parking available. You can get tickets online, which is convenient since it gives you first choice at available seats. Or, you can get them the more traditional way at the ticket counter on your way into the theater. The theaters are on the smaller size, though that means that there's very few areas with a terrible view. All seats recline, which is comfortable. I've seen 3D and traditional films here, each with great screen and sound quality. No commentary on snacks, it's the standard popcorn / candy situation, though they do have a decently large assortment of beer / wine / liquor. I haven't had a bad experience yet, and will continue coming since it's so convenient and consistent. read more

AMC Marina Pacifica is located in a large shopping center making parking easy. The staff is always so friendly and quick. Lines for concessions are always short but if you're in a rush you can mobile order food and drinks. Also, this locations has a bar and recliner seats. read more

This theater is a hidden gem. I'm an A-List member and this by far is my absolute FAVORITE AMC! I live in the Pasadena area and whenever I have an excuse to come down here, I make sure to drop by. Really quiet theater. Super clean and the workers are always nice. My popcorn is always fresh, and the seats inside are clean, up to date and the sound quality great. I also love the location, as there's a Barnes and Noble next door, so it's a win win for me! read more

Located off PCH in Long Beach. A good amount of parking shared with other businesses in the center. As you approach the ticketing booth you'll notice the theaters are spilt 1-6 in the building to the left and 7-12 in the building to the right as you enter the lobby area is pretty small they did have a bar area and across the way your normal food/snacks area. The theater is nice and of course they clean it and they have recliners as well. Overall a nice theater I would definitely come back here again for a movie. read more

I have been going to this theater since I was a kid and it a very nice place to see movies. I commend AMC trying to keep up with the times. However, with trying to keep up with ordering food mobile, or making pizzas and mozzarella sticks, something is lagging. There was a woman in line who ordered through the app who was a little bothered she had to wait longer than people who walked up. While I was waiting for the impossible nuggets which I won't order again, it was difficult to wait because you are either standing in front of a restroom or the popcorn area where people can put butter. The reason why I won't order the nuggets is for two reasons. First, for having waited as long as I did, they should have been more fresh but tasted like they had been sitting around d for a while. Second, I saw the girl working there sling them on the grill and then said "nuggets." Again, for just having been baked and sitting on the grill for the time they did until I got them, they should have tasted better. The first time I got them I really liked them. Overall a good theater though. read more

It is really exciting for me to have a theatre less than 2 miles from where I live. There is plenty of parking though depending on when you come you might have to walk a distance to you car. I got my tickets ahead of time and was able to go directly inside. It is a smaller theatre but I was so happy that they have reclining seats. Everything seemed clean and good! read more

AMC Theater FAIL- Marina Pacific Purchased in person at 1:50 tickets for the 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 21st for Fast and Furious. The girl sold us the 10:30 A.M. show for the morning of Sunday, May 21st. Wait what????? Yes - she sold us ticket for a show that already passed. The computer shown have blocked her from even selecting that time slot but it didn't. The people that purchased the same seats for the 2:00 show - came and said we were sitting in there seats. So- we got up and went to the person the the front door who called over the manager. Very poor customer service. You got it - the other people got to stay in the seats we purchased but the AMC employee who sold us the seats were for time slot that had PAST. We had to relocated to the very back of the theater. NO sorry, no comp tickets - nothing. The manager just kept saying human error and that she sold you the wrong time. I asked how could that even happened - how could you selected a past movie to sell? No accountability from AMC at all of the embarrassing moment in the theater when the other couple having the same seats. How could you you even sell something that has PAST????? Never again going to an AMC theater. read more

Just sat through 25 MINUTES of previews! More than half were for animated children's films, even though the feature was rated PG-13. The film was so bad I walked out after 10 minutes. I spoke to staff about the situation, but was told because it was more than 30 minutes after the official start time for the film, no refund was available (though I did get a pass). Excuse me? We waited through 25 minutes of pre-show promos and previews and now it's too late to get a refund? Bad move AMC. I'll be sticking to Harkins theaters for now. (PS. The most hidden and lowkey movie theater ever.no premium screens (besides 3D which shouldn't count) so that's a drawback. But if you just want to watch a movie in regular format this is the place. Never too busy, comfortable updated theaters with reclining seats. A bar. It's a smaller theater so the variety in movies can be slim during big movie releases. read more

Ever since the new company took over, AMC became good at having good seats, online reservations and having a bar. Great to reserve online or app then arrive after the previews are over. Just make sure you ask for fresh popcorn though, came in on a first showing and found our popcorn was a bit stale and full of half-popped kernels. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Recent improvements and their A-list program have made this my go-to movie theater. Ever since we joined the AMC Stubs A-list, the hubby and I've been coming here a lot, and I'm glad they've updated the theaters with reclining seats and better concession offerings. The theaters are clean, the staff friendly, and they have a bar, woohoo! Plus, the A-list program is one of the best movie club bargains out there, with 3 movies per week, including 3D, IMAX, etc. Plus, advanced seat reservations through their app make planning movie outings a breeze. As avid moviegoers, we're big fans of this program and this theater! read more

I told her I tried it multiple times and that it wasn't working, she didn't offer any other solution. She didn't seem to know anything. Like not good customer service in my opinion. We were in line for the 8:30 am showing of Rogue One, but the manager was late for more than an hour. We waited in the cold outside and none of the employees could open the door. We missed our afternoon reunion. The manager did apologize and gave us free movie passes for the mistake though. read more

I really enjoy going to this location, but I wish it had an IMAX or Dolby auditorium. I prefer watching movies in either of these formats. I do understand this is a smaller location, so that may never happen, but I at least want this location to upgrade to Laser projectors. Update: I have noticed that they are getting laser projectors installed soon. I'm very happy about this. But I still prefer IMAX or Dolby. read more

AMC Marina Pacifica is located in the Marina Pacifica Mall in Long Beach. They remodeled a while ago, and this was the first time I've visited since the changes. The key change is that they have comfortable recliners in sets of two, with a shared armrest in between every two seats. These seats are similar to the recliners at Cinemark Long Beach. This is in the same plaza as Best Buy. It's on the end closer to Barnes and Noble. Some restaurants of note in this location are Forbidden City (check out my review), Tantalum, Acapulco, and Chipotle. Some have complained about parking, but it is what it is. The parking lot is huge for the entire mall; you might just have to park far away and walk a bit to the theater. At least you don't have to pay for parking. There is assigned seating, so you don't have to arrive super early to try to save seats. The screen is large and clear. I'd definitely return to this AMC. read more

Went to this theater recently after not being here for 2+ years and wow, what an upgrade and change this theater has made. For starters, theater #4 was small and intimate with new recliner seats that were very comfortable. I'm thinking maybe just 50 seats in my theater. Not sure if all the other ones have the same amount though. The seats reminded me of an airplanes first class section....almost laying down completely! There is plenty of leg space and you are not too close to the next pair of seats next to you - great layout. There is also a bar on both sides of the theater that allows you to bring in your wine/alcohol to your seat...SCORE! Highly recommend this theater. I'm glad AMC has stepped it up! read more

My biggest concern relates to access. It bugs the heck out of me when I see the disabled or folks my parents age trying to navigate access to this theatre. The theatre is located below the parking level. There are two ways to approach. The south entrance has a stairwell going up a floor, then you walk back down two levels or walk a bit until you find the elevator to take down to the theatre. The north entrance just has one set of stairs going down. The elevator is off to the side and not readily obvious. Beyond access, my complaint is the lack of adequate restrooms. There were about 15 women waiting to void last evening. AND, on the plus side They have 3-D, lounge chairs and booze. read more
