We wanted to catch a bite to eat on our way out of town, so we stopped here. Husband had breakfast--the sausage links are huge and taste amazing! I opted for the Sicilian a sizable yet filling sandwich. The kids meals were served on frisbees--which they can take home. Unfortunately, the hostess took one of the "plates" (we didn't know they were ours to keep until waitress mentioned it). Great food, good portions and reasonably priced for area. There is a bar and specialty drinks on menu that we did not take advantage of and there appears to be music on weekends (select dates). Recommend stopping by and trying for yourself! read more

Met up with a friend here for lunch. We were lucky to get outdoor seating, and the restaurant had a very clean indoor seating set up. I ordered the Greek salad and my friend ordered the North Carolina. The salad was decent. I wish they gave me a bit more chicken breast, but it was pretty standard and good. I also ordered a side of bread, but the waiter forgot to bring it out until later. My friends North Carolina sandwich looked great though, and the Cole slaw was perfectly crunchy and sweet. read more

We just had lunch there. Ordered lunch special of salad and soup. It was good and worth it. Also ordered Ahi Tuna and crab cakes. The tuna was very thin and very little. Could have been 3 oz and the two crab cakes were tiny. The total bill with tax and gratuity was $55.00. Terribly disappointing as the soup and salad was more filling than the other and left hungry. Walked to Publix and got sushi and snack for $15.00. Would definitely not recommend this as a reasonable place for lunch. read more

We tried this place for dinner and are going back again tonight. So we loved it. Arrived early, at 6, and were seated right away. We got firecracker shrimp appetizer which has a lovely sauce that is sweet with the perfect amount of heat that builds. We got the seafood casserole, shrimp creole, and the eggplant zucchini noodle dish. All were distinctive and delicious. The creole could use a little more okra in my view but the flavor was on point. Again spiced perfectly for a gal who likes a moderately spicy dish. The seafood casserole is divine and a richer dish that was a delight for those who like creamy shellfish dishes. The eggplant with zucchini noodles was flavorful with a deep flavored red sauce and not an excessive amount of cheese. All served with salads. The beignets and flourless chocolate cake were rich and incredible. The lemon bar/cake was a good flavor but a bit on the dry side for my taste. The service was friendly and accommodating. Don't let the strip mall location dissuade you from trying this place. read more

My family and I were very pleasantly surprised with this little restaurant. The first time we attempted to eat here, there was quite a bit of a wait. We decided to come back the next day and we are so glad we did! The burgers were delicious and so was the crab cake sandwich. Prices were a little high, but not terrible, especially with the current economy. Our waitress was sweet as can be and still friendly after all of the running she was doing. Our first time at the restaurant and food was great. Service was wonderful. Second time the food we got was not exactly how we ordered it which was frustrating because we enjoyed our first visit so much. Service: we had a new waiter, kind of flustered but expected and understandable. However, the other wait staff and bar tender did not help him at all. He was obviously struggling and no help. He was struggling with the printer for a good while, the other waitress was no where to be found. There was still dirty dishes from other customers who left that were still on the tables. We asked the bar tender if they could cash us out. She said no and then proceeded to call this new waiter out in front of the whole restaurant. Bad taste in my book... Order experience: tried to order house wine, no more left. Then switched to a different wine, then wanted another glass- oop all out. Idk why they couldnt open another bottle to use as their house wine but whatever the restaurant's choice. Pastrami was mediocre, could hardly chew it and was stringy. We got two house salads, The zucchini noodles were good. Chicken tenders were your average frozen tenders. Food was hot, which was nice. Ambiance: Lovely, clean, updated, free wifi, tvs, lotto. Overall: needs work on service. I am not talking about the new guy, but the other staff. Seemed they threw him to the wolves and yes, that could be part of him learning, but it definitely impacted the dining experience. This place is great! Super clean, trendy and the food and service was excellent. The atmosphere is relaxing and I love the fact that it's so clean. It was pretty busy in the off season so I can't imagine how busy this place is going to be during the season. I'm glad I got to enjoy a delicious breakfast. That avocado toast was spectacular. I've been in the height of summer when it's super busy, and I've been in the slower off season. This afternoon I enjoyed lunch with my family at this Amelia's Backstreet Grille in Ocean Isle Beach. It was inviting from the moment we walked in. We were greeted immediately, the decor was really nice and our server was attentive. There were 8 of us. I ordered "The Sicilian". It was an take on an eggplant sandwich. It was breaded and lightly fried eggplant on a baguette with roasted peppers, provolone cheese and pesto. It was served with fresh cut French fries. My son ordered the classic cheeseburger and it was cooked to his liking. Others at the table ordered the Pastrami on Rye, the New Yawker which was roast beef on rye, a grilled cheese and the turkey sandwich. All of the sandwiches were served with a large portion of delicious fries. I also had a yummy glass of the house italian Prosecco. We all had a really pleasant lunch and the food was delicious. We will definitely return as there were so many other items in the menu I would like to try. read more

Our server Danielle was very sweet - but the timing was ridiculous When our order finally came out (nearly 30 minutes after being placed) our order : eggs Benedict (egg overcooked, English muffin untoasted), Meat lover omelet (bacon, ham & sausage) had only sausage. The other orders were pancakes - they were completely inedible - hard, cold, tasted like they were cooked on dirty grill, nasty. Actually worst pancakes ever eaten by either person. When you walk in, you are greeted personally and immediately begin to enjoy the decor. Very open and spacious. Great to have such a choice of options on the menu other than deep fried everything. Enjoyed a leisurely lunch with my wife while watching families and singles and other couples enjoy theirs. Shrimp and lobster bisque was a special. Neither of us had it but heard a lot of others talking about how good it was. The Power Salad with grilled grouper was excellent and my wife had the Lump Crab Salad. Amelia's was recommended by a friend to me and now I'm recommending it to everyone. Fabulous menu with a variety of food from seafood to pork chops to mussels to wings to salads. Be sure to ask about Appy Hour specials. Variety of choices at good prices. The shrimp gumbo I had was flavorful, full of vegetables and shrimp and sausage. Spicy but not too hot. The petite filet sandwich was good - lots of delicious peppers and onions. Fries were hot and plentiful. Dessert was wonderful! Banana pudding just like mom makes and the hummingbird cake was moist and the cream cheese icing was delicious! The restaurant was comfortable with pretty decorations. A follow up on my previous review. Amelia's is still the best place to eat in Ocean Isle Beach. They have added Wicked Weed beer to their bar menu, which could use a few more craft beers. Service staff was great. Kitchen was really slow. Food was overly salty. Onions in the home fries were burnt black and oddly the eggs were undercooked and overcooked at the same time.
