The recently renovated Polaris lounge in Chicago was a huge hit on our recent travels to east Asia. We had about 45 minutes before our flight and was able to squeeze in a couple drinks at the bar and have some food at the buffet. I love their alcohol selection as they had champagne and top shelf whiskey (including an Islay option). Would have loved to sit down at the restaurant but time was tight so we opted for the buffet which had a build your own salad bar and a plethora of hot options (chicken, fish, soup). My only complaint is that the speakeasy didn't open until 2 but that likely means that I'll have to find me way back!

This was my first experience in a Polaris lounge with access due to a business class international flight out of ORD. You don't get access on return flights, only flights out of the US. We had a short layover (1.5 hours with no terminal change) so we were a bit rushed to eat at the restaurant and had to skip dessert. We also should have gone straight to the restaurant to get on the waiting list. We got some good drinks while waiting and the food at the restaurant was worth the wait. Everything was good: crab fritters, bacon, arctic char, and my husband's burger. The service was on point everywhere, likely due to the fact access is pretty restricted and not too many people here for its size. The bathrooms are all private rooms making it convenient to change or freshen up between flights. Obviously go here any chance you get.

Busy Polaris Lounge with a variety of seating options and arrangements--everything from cafe and bistro style seating to work pods and cozy lounge nooks with plenty of US outlets and USB ports (USB-C are not available). The bar is usually quite busy but typically easy to grab a drink. There's a self serve buffet with a variety of food options, coffee and cappuccino makers, and a sit down dining restaurant with a rotating tasting menu to choose from. I personally love to grab a sit down meal or place a reservation for one if I have the time. The experience is fun and quiet; relaxing and enjoyable and helpful and friendly dining staff. If your ticket includes access, you might as well go enjoy it! It makes for a pleasant experience and relaxing atmosphere leading up to the flight.

The United Polaris Lounge at Chicago O'Hare delivers a noticeably upgraded pre-flight experience for international business class travelers. After a major renovation that reopened in April 2025, the lounge feels significantly more spacious and refined than before. It's now almost 50% larger than before , with plenty of seating and natural light streaming through large windows Design-wise it looks good. more inviting furnishings . Entrance is very appealing Dining has buffet, which includes both hot and cold selections., the food is tasty and a cut above typical lounge fare. premium drinks and creative cocktails are served in bar .. Amenities like semi-private relaxation areas, private phone rooms, shower suites, and daybeds make it easy to relax or work comfortably before departure.

What an exceptional place to spend a layover, when you're at ORD. From the elevated food selections (the chicken picatta was a standout with a creamy lemony sauce), to the custom, thoughtful cocktails, along with a great selection of local beer and cider, this was a great stop. There's plenty of seating/spaces for people, with the ability to choose what appeals to you. There's lots of cozy seating around all of the windows, with great views of the planes/activity outside. There's plenty of bar seating, with two bars. There's separate individual seating, both in the main areas, and toward the back where it's quieter, the lights are dimmed, and seemed like the perfect napping/relaxing space. The restrooms are plentiful, individual, and light up green/red to easily see which ones are available. They were exceptionally clean. This club is quite large, well laid out, and appointed - great way to spend my layover time, before heading to Amsterdam!

We only had a short layover in ORD so we had to stop by the brand new Polaris lounge on our way back from Europe. The location was very central in the C terminal right near the escalators. Access was controlled at the front desk and after scanning our boarding passes we were green lit for access. Inside the lounge was big, bright and empty with nice views from most window seats. Furnishings were in similar style as the Polaris lounges. Staffing levels were minimal given the hour and customers. The buffet breakfast spread was fully stocked but we would've really liked to dine in the restaurant area if we only had more time. I always preferred the lunch and dinner options more than breakfast. Bathrooms were clean and lots of rooms available. Didn't have time to use the showers suites nor the sleep rooms but good features to have. Will try to stay longer next time.

The lounge is a great place to break away from the crowds and relax. The views are great for killing time between your flights. The drinks flow freely and strong (be careful). If you're not wanting an "adult" beverage there are plenty of other options available throughout the lounge. In addition, the food is great. Don't waste your time trying to find something in the airport; unless you need that iconic Chicago style pizza. There is a large selection of finger foods, salads, and desserts available.

This review is for the United Polaris lounge restaurant for lunch. The ambiance is upscale with beautiful wood and decor. The lighting is quite bright, so it makes it feel a bit sterile, but otherwise nice. I started with a small cheese plate which was delicious and the perfect size. My chicken entree was good but the chicken was a bit tough and definitely too much butter on the potato puree. I enjoyed the meal and it was nice to relax in this space before boarding a long flight.

What a treat, I love my Sunni g experience wt the ORD United Polaris Lounge near Gate 17. The menu offers variety of appetizers, main dishes and desserts. The food was beautifully plated and they all tasted savory, delicious and fulfilling. The staff were very attentive and provided outstanding service. The ambiance can't be beat as I feel like I'm dinning at a fancy, hugh-end restaurant. Highly recommended the next time you fly Business Class and passing through O'Hare with a few hours to spare!

Luckily my connecting flight arrived early and I had long layover, and so I was able to enjoy all of the amenities in this lounge. First stop was the bar for some nice cocktails. We also put our name on the list for the restaurant. Since this lounge is being renovated and expanded, there are not that many dining tables available. This lounge gets very crowded by afternoon and so I am glad they working on expanding it. With our meal I enjoyed another olde fashioned and my wife had a sparkling rose. We each tried the celery soup and we had the Polaris burger. Everything was delicious. The staff in the restaurant and bar were great, but very overworked. Please be patient with them. After our meal we visited the Therabody relaxation suites. They were clean and we had a fantastic nap. The zero gravity loungers are fantastic! The staff also showed us the shower suites. Soon it was time to board our flight and we were relaxed and ready to go. I always try to dine in the lounge and then decline the meal onboard. The in flight meals on United are very hit or miss.

This is my second time in the Ohare Polaris lounge and had the opportunity to utilise the shower facilities and seated dining this time around. Having a place to shower after a red eye is fantastic and the shower facilities are nice. Noticed there are day beds here also so if you have a long layover there is a place to take a nap. Had breakfast and ordered the breakfast tostada. It was surprisingly good and would definitely get this again. I came to the lounge right when it opened and the dining room wasn't open right away. Getting someone to help me took some time and the process was a bit confusing.

This is QUITE the lounge. It's only open to those flying international Polaris, so in theory it shouldn't be crowded and chaotic. That said, it was pretty packed - I had a hard time finding a place to sit. Here's what you need to know: *Shower rooms, if you want them *Relax rooms if you need a nap *A big bar with top shelf options. Glass of champagne? Why not? *A buffet area with 1/2 dozen hot options plus plenty of salad, cheese and charcuterie. I tried a small bit of pasta and thought it was really good. Here's the bonus - they have a full service sit down restaurant that's included! I had been told the wait was an hour but it only ended up being 25 minutes. My cacio é pepe risotto was honestly spectacular and the bread pudding was pretty good too. Every employee was really nice and the place was very clean despite the crowds. If you are flying Polaris out of ORD you definitely should make some time to check this lounge out.

The first impression was nice, calm, and professional in appearance. The seating was nicely laid out, plenty of different areas. I absolutely loved the library-esque atmosphere, THIS is what a lounge is supposed to be... not having kids running around, yelling, horseplaying, annoying guests. There were kids and they were well-mannered. They have a champagne and wine bar here - though not as nice as many other first class lounges, it was a nice offering and the brands were very nice too. They also offered a fun bloody mary bar which was self-service. This was really interesting as they offered so many things one could put in their bloody mary. Food here was tasty... the eggs were amazing. They offered an omelete station too. Overall, it was a nice visit.

There is also an adjustment for the ventilation fan however I have found that, even on the highest setting, they can get warm. There are most of the same food options as the F9 location but on a smaller scale. There are self-serve options for soft drinks and coffee. In lieu of a tended bar, there is a self-serve bar with an assortment of juices, wines and beers. Like most United Clubs, there isn't a whole lot of interaction with the staff. The reason this lounge was designed as such a large space is due to the fact that there's a lot of people in here. That's just something to keep in mind as a basis for your understanding. In terms of design, this lounge has various types of seating. They have the more comfortable chairs located throughout the various rooms at this lounge. They also have numerous seats that are associated with tables. This is probably best for people like myself, who enjoyed grabbing a quick snack, and having a drink, before it's time to board the aircraft. They also have long desks with charging ports set up for those who want to get some work done. Plus, there are some self-standing seats spread out throughout the lounge area. In terms of food offerings, they have food buffets on two ends of the lounge. Both of these buffets offer a unique blending of Quick-Food, as I like to call it. Is pretty good. I will say, that I've never been disappointed in what they offer. You can always find something to suit your pallet. In terms of drinks, they have drink offerings at both ends of the lounge, as well, in association with the food buffets. There, you can get your expected soft drinks, coffee, and water. If you want alcoholic beverages, you have to go down to the one end of the lounge, where they have a bar. There, they generally have two bartenders. Each of which is happy to give you whatever you want. They often mix drinks, beers, wine, and all that kind of stuff. Many of the drinks are all free. But, if they are, be sure to throw the bartenders a tip. I think that's an important gesture. Some people decide to sit along the bar while they enjoy their drinks. I guess they are just type of people who enjoying hanging out at bars. I don't find out all that comfortable, or appealing, as you're basically elbow-to-elbow with somebody, you don't really know. But, that's just my personal opinion. If I have one complaint about this lounge, it's the fact that it's not really set up for the first class domestic passengers on United. Whereas, is you are flying internationally on United, they use the Star Alliance lounges that are specifically designed for its first and business class passengers. In terms of this lounge, pretty much anybody can get into it, simply by paying a sixty dollar fee. Thus, you get a whole lot of people, Just overwhelming space, without a lot of decorum. There's not much to complain about this place, you just have to expect that there's gonna be a lot of people. I have seen it at times midday, when people can't even find a single seat to sit in. This is my first experience with an airport lounge, and frankly, I could get used to this! That said, while markedly nicer than waiting by the gate, the experience wasn't perfect. There is free food, coffee, and Coke products available. The food involved a hot entree, a couple sandwiches, soups, salads, snacks, nibbles, and desserts. There is also coffee, espresso beverages, and a Coke machine. The quality of the items was adequate. Since airports aren't usually gourmet destinations, I happily devoured everything on my plate. Happy that one is not relegated to McDonald's and can opt for something healthier.a Speaking of which, while you are free to go up as many times as you wish, the plates and cups are very small, needing several visits for those like myself, who have a black hole within their stomachs. Perhaps this is to encourage people to keep their goodies in the lounge, rather than take 16oz coffee cups onto planes. It would still be nice to have larger plates, so I save my steps for the terminals rather than making repeated trips to the buffet... especially since I don't want to leave my property unattended. In terms of the lounge itself, everything was very clean. There is ample seating, and there should be a spot available, but expect to share the lounge with many others. While both the armchairs and [high] chairs are firmer than I'd like, they do beat out terminal seating overall. Also, while not needed by me, I respect that they have "phone rooms" for those who may need to take a private phone call or attend a work meeting. A private room is more for you, though, as the lounge is more chill, without the hustle and bustle of the terminal. Finally, there are plenty of outlets throughout, and the WiFi is faster by miles. All the staffers in the lounge, from those who check you in, to the bartender, to those keeping everything bussed and clean were fantastic! I was about to dust my hands off and leave four stars... that was until I realized that they have an open bar! There's nothing like starting a trip with a drink to get in the mood. Sure, it isn't really free being included with the ticket price, but if I'm already paying for airfare, not having to pay $20 for a small and weak drink is a phenomenal bonus. Last but certainly not least are the restrooms: These were much cleaner and nicer than the rest of the airport. Think of a nicer mall as opposed to "airport." Final verdict: I can now see why lounge access is such a wonderful perk of either non-economy seats or certain credit cards. I love airports because of my love for travel and airplanes, not so much everything else. The United Club is great for making that which stands between TSA and being in the air more pleasant.
