I have used them for years but they sent this last guy out to completely mess my windshield up. Hopefully they come back and fix it.

Our brand new expedition needed a new windshield due to a rock cracking it on the interstate. When I say brand new, we're talking 1,500 miles. American Auto Glass came and replaced the windshield and also left us 2 scratches on the vehicle body. One was 3 inches long and down to the metal. The tech didn't say anything, but rather just left it and I guess hoped we wouldn't notice. They have since been the most unprofessional company we've dealt with in a long time and continuously giving us the runaround. The guy we have been corresponding won't even provide us with his name. #sketchy He also stated he was just the 3rd party and we should be coordinating the fix (for his mistake) with his un-reachable paint guy. Upon looking at our cameras of the replacement, the tech had his feet/shoes all up on the sides of our vehicle doors and seats! I guess we are lucky they only left us with 2 spots of damage. My boyfriend and I got a crack across our windshield while driving in from Ohio, we contacted the Virginia Beach shop location on a Sunday morning and within minutes they kindly had us booked for 8:30 the next morning. They were very responsive and the same number texted for confirmation for our shop appointment the next morning. They gave us a fair price for the windshield, $673 for a 2020 Infiniti w/ labor which I cannot respect enough. The staff was fantastic, very entertaining and the whole service was done with the windshield fully replaced in under two hours. Great work by a local shop! Had my windshield replaced by American Auto Glass on July 10th. Within days a vertical crack showed up. Called and spoke with Curtis Horton who said a technician would call me with a number from FL and come out to look and take care of it. I never got a call. I called again a few days later and Curtis was surprised to hear that the technician had not called and said he would make sure they called. Again I did not receive a call, this same thing happened a few more times with no resolution. I called one last time the week of 10/1 and Curtis said he would call me the following Tuesday and set something up. I never received a call. I have been pretty patient and understanding each of these times, as a busy business owner I understand that it's not always easy to make time for repairs. This morning 10/19 a very cold morning I turned on my defrosters and glass shards shot all over my car from the original windshield replacement which I am assuming was shattered during replacement. I was I believe understandably frustrated and called American Auto Glass again today, Curtis argued with me on the phone saying I was supposed to call him to schedule again, and that they needed to come out and make sure that a rock hadn't caused the damage. I was shocked that he was arguing with, I was blown away that after 5 calls with no resolution he couldn't understand my now frustration. I welcomed him to come look at the windshield, as that was clearly what I have been asking for, instead I was told verbatim that he "didn't have to take my shit". I am just shaking my head, when I posted about this crazy turn of events on Facebook several friends said they had also been cussed out by this company. I can handle a lot but this, this outrageous behavior, especially considering my patience up until today and who argues and cusses out their customers. read more

AVOID COMING TO THIS PLACE. They supposedly fixed my windshield, when they didn't, because when I am driving, I can hear a LOUD "buzzing" sound. I called them, and they showed up to my house to fix it. Still not fixed, so I even drove to their company, still couldn't fixed it. AND then blames it on my car. My car was built in 2006, it's not even close to being remotely old, and he compared it to a Mustang. This guy, sounds so professional, he knows what he is doing, so I am not going to argue with him... NOT... This place is a waste of space. Seriously, do not come here. You might think this place is a deal breaker, even calling them they seemed nice, they are using you for your money. They are friendly in the beginning, but after you pay them, they are a$$holes. read more

What a joke. To preface this review, I received this business' information from my dad who uses them for their work vehicles. I called two weeks ago and scheduled an appointment for this morning. I called this morning to let them know my husband was running five minutes late. They stated they didn't have an appointment for me today, the owner then said he could have someone out in less than an hour. I sent my husband to wait and after 90 minutes of waiting with no one there I begin to text the owner. I'll attach our conversation in the photos. I called the business number several times with no answer prior to me beginning to text. I asked for a discount since our wait time was now at two hours. The owner responded by screenshotting our conversation and sending it back to me, not his employee. He stated we would not get a discount. I then made him aware he was still texting me. He blamed his employee not himself on our wait and then told me he would rather not work with "people like me" I can only assume he meant people who hold others accountable for their actions or lack thereof. So now it's 12:37 when I had a 9:30 appointment and the windshield still is not finished. The owner has not apologized or done anything to try and make it right. The only reason they are getting my money is because when the tech finally showed up he shattered the windshield completely trying to take the rearview mirror off. CONSUMERS BE WARE. They lie and make excuses and do not care for their customers at all. I will tell everyone I know it's better to pay Safelite double the amount for a windshield because then at least you won't be receiving rude texts from the owner blaming you for their own problems. read more

I called Budget Auto Glass and was quoted 190.00 to replace my windshield. when installation was done I was told it was 249.67. Windshield was 131.76 and labor was 110.00 for 2.3hrs. The install took less than an hour. You need to read reviews for both sites. Would recommend you do business with anyone but them. Budget should inform people they send someone else. Any business that has a full voice mail that's full is not a good sign. read more

First off they charged me for 5.2 hours of labor for a job that took just over an hour, they were also late and kept telling me they are almost there to keep me rather than being straight up. The tech was fantastic, quick helpful and friendly, but the company seems to be run from a cell phone and a few random shops that they send you to. The price was outstanding along with the work quality which is why they got 3 stars, but I would much rather work with a professional honest shop. read more

I would NEVER recommend this place/people! What a joke! They use cheap improper materials. I needed work done on my windshield. I set a time and date to have the work done. Dropped my RV off with the owner in the morning ( I expected it to take a day or two) they called me later that day said it was done I could come pick it up. I asked the owner if the sealer needed to cure for 24 hours ( as I was told by other professionals ) He said NO the sealer they used was more pliable than what other company's use. So I drove back to pick up my RV, It was nearly two hours after they called me that I was able to pick it up. I inspected to work when I first got there I was not impressed with what I saw but I was hopeful the work that they did would solve the problems I had. I drove two blocks and I started seeing clear liquid oozing out all over. I turned around and went back and talked to the owner and showed him the problem. I told him if I needed to purchase a new seal I would, to make sure the job was done right. He told me he would find a new seal and call me back to reschedule the install. I brought my RV home looked at the work done the next day and I was SHOCKED! They had used a clear silicon to seal my windshield that turned milky brown after mixing with the black urethane that was already there. The day before when I inspected it looked black but that's only because it was clear for time being. It took me two hours to clean their mess up. The owner never returned my phone calls after that day clearly has caller ID to never answer my calls either. And you can't leave voicemail because his mail box is always full. I wish I'd read the other reviews on this place first. read more

Needed a windshield replacement. Called 3 places for an estimate this being the last. All locations including this one asked me if my car had collision detection and lane assist features that would need calibration. This place gave me the best price to i took it for service thinking they would calibrate my windshield like every other shop mentioned as well. After being upcharged $80 from the initial asking price and driving away with my new windshield. My 2021 kona gave me a warning message on my dash with 3 flashing lights for all of my cars forward safety features. When i called and mentioned that there was an error with installation he proceeded to say "it probably needs calibrated" when i asked why they didnt calibrate it after asking me when i first called if it had these features he replies "i dont have a 25 thousand dollar calibration machine" then when i argued why he didn't mention that they dont calibrate after discussing beforehand that my car has the features that need calibrated he then changed his excuse to "i thought 2021 vehicles and older dont need calibrated". This is a grown man changing his excuse after charging me for installation and failing to ever mention calibration wont be part of my windshield replacement after specifically asking me if my car was the type with those features. Embarassing and felt like i was arguing with a 16 year old. Dont waste your money here. read more

Wouldn't Recommend as first choice. Called to set an appointment, the time frame they gave me was 8am-12pm the guy didn't show up time 1215, having me waiting most of the morning when I could have been running errands. When it was time to pay, he said he didn't have change for cash so I use my card, he called it in and the person said "transaction failed" I knew that couldn't be right so I checked my account on my app and it showed that it did go through and was debited from my account. I had to show the guy and he took my card number "just in case" worse experience ever. read more

I needed to replace the windshield in my Jeep Wrangler and ended up calling this place. A man answered the phone (I believe it was the owner) and said he thinks one of his guys was in my area, he would check and call me back. I ended up being on the other line when he called me back, but he called me 13 times in 15 minutes and then sent me a text. I replied to his text when I got off the phone and told him that I would go elsewhere and then I blocked his number. He then had one of his employees call me from another number and I blocked his number too. CAN YOU SAY DESPERATE? I did not get a good feeling about this guy and then started reading other reviews. I noticed my windshield was cracked Saturday morning. Searched online and found another co that was not local. It didn't feel right so I called around Sunday morning after doing another search. A human actually answered the phone and told me they were local and the price he quoted was good for them to come install at my work on Monday. I am very pleased, very impressed and very satisfied! AVOID THIS PLACE! Go to any other glass place in Hampton Roads, with this guy s quote and I can almost guarantee that they will match the price. The windshield looks good but when I went to use my windshield wipers they didn t work...they came out to fix them, which was pulling a bunch of wires and messing around in the fuse box for 45 minutes...and they still didn t work. Somehow after putting it all back together they came on and were working so I was pleased. That night a fuse fell out of the box on my way home, my emergency parking brake light starting flashing that there was a fault, and my wiper blade flew off in the rain. I guess they think good customer service was just sending the guy out there to fix it because when I called back to ask what my next steps should be I was told that someone else had obviously messed with all of the wiring and I should have been charged $100 service fee the day before...a fee to fix something they broke? I heard the rehearsed in 25 years I ve never had an issue like this...so it must be something totally unrelated to us. After he condescendingly offered to buy me a wiper blade he told me he was done with the conversation and hung up. No apology or even slight willingness to help his customer. He is obviously only interested in turning a profit and is totally oblivious to the fact that his customers make his business, so unhappy customers and word-of-mouth marketing will not be good for it.
