My entire experience was so professional from start to finish. Ed came for initial inspection and gave his recommendation, afterwards I spoke with Arthur from the office and he answered all my questions and suggested I upgrade the furnace since it was older than the AC unit stating there would be a cost benefit through AHS. I'm not sure why there are so many one star reviews for this company. Most of them seem old, so maybe they have changed management. Our insurance company, American home shield sent them out and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience with Just One Call HVAC. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. Arthur, the manager, was exceptionally helpful and patient --he answered all of our questions with clarity and patience, and his attentiveness throughout the process gave us complete confidence in the company. Because our 28 year old ac unit only partially failed, the insurance company was only going to pay to patch the ac condenser. However they recommended a replacement of both ac and furnace given the age. Since we have long term tenants there, we didn't want to take the chance of it failing in the middle of summer AGAIN. The price they gave us was reasonable and the insurance company deducted the cost to replacing the coil so, overall we got a good price on a new HVAC. The technician, Ed, arrived right on time and was equally impressive. He was courteous, efficient, and clearly very knowledgeable. He explained everything thoroughly and completed the job without delay. This level of professionalism and care is rare to find. Today May 22nd, 2023 2 technicians were sent to my private residence through American Home Shield ABOUT 1PM. These men failed to diagnose my unit, rewired my capacitor incorrectly, did not inspect vents and gave me false information regarding my insurance they stated that if I didn't buy my coolant from them today that my American Home Shield would not cover any future repairs. I had to pay out of pocket to get my ac diagnosed correctly and find out they wired my capacitor incorrectly and never checked the vents or checked the compressor (which is bad). A wast of time without AC FOR MY DISABLED SON. Jonathan from "Just one call" just came out to inspect and tune up our A/C unit. Arrived at the designated time A friendly greeting and he went to work. The last folks here, last year, over filled the coolant above 500psi where it should be in the 300 range. Jonathan adjusted the pressure which avoided damaging the compressor. Pretty cool state of the art diagnostic tools pinpoint any problems, when discovered, Jonathan makes the fix. We now have a great new "Nest" thermostat that is amazing. If these crooks are assigned to you by your home warranty, immediately ask for a different vendor. To keep it short, after my experience with them, the home warranty company has informed me that they are launching a complaint against them. My A/C broke so my home warranty sent out these guy. The guy pulls up and blocks my driveway in (I live in a private community with tons of parking). He spends no more than 2 minutes "diagnosing" my unit and then left. I was told he will put in a work order today so that my home warranty can look at the claim. After checking on the status with my home warranty they said they got nothing and they will call them the next day to get an update. Not until 5pm the next day did they send the report to my home warranty. Well guess what, the report was incomplete and said something about the unit being broken for months (which is untrue) and it needing to be entirely replaced!! I got a hold of a manager at my home warranty. They said the report they got makes no sense and there are inconsistencies in it. The manager tried calling Just One Call and of course, they can't get a hold of anybody!!! The manager assigned a different company to come to me and when the other company came, they said the unit had a small issue with the capacitor. Took 25 minutes for them to get approval and fix it and my AC is working good as new now! I could give this place a zero star if possible. These guys are crooks and will charge you for things that you don't need. I don't understand how this place still has a 5 star average rating on Yelp. I contacted homeowners warranty regarding my AC blowing hot air, and they contracted these crooks for the repair. They came out and stated that the whole unit needs replacement. Long story short, paid these guys almost $5000 for AC installation and it would dump water through the intake shaft every time it rains. They deny any mistake that was done on their end even though the roofer stated that the AC unit was not installed correctly. I had to hire a second contractor of my own to come out and installed the unit AGAIN! These crooks charged me $400 for "rebuilding a platform on the roof" and it was never done. The water leak caused me to have to replace all the drywall and carpet. Ended up taking these guys to small claims court to get my money back. DO NOT CALL THESE GUYS FOR ANY REASON!! read more

One call starts the frustration. Technicians are incompetent, had air handler replaced and after installing we found leaks from ceiling where they installed. Came once to "look" came back about 7 times in the span of months with various reasons from wrong size filters to bad scheduling and . Probably needs additional repairs and possibly mold. Technicians are usually unprepared and unequipped, no tools/parts, and my installation was ~2yrs ago, they are now running marketing around LADWP program and try bait & switch?!? These guys were sent to our house by our home warranty company, AHS, and did everything to get out of doing the work. They told us they were "ordering parts" and then told AHS it's a plumbing problem. It's an AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSATE LINE so it's an HVAC repair. Today, AHS sent Bear Plumbing to our home. They confirmed that this is an HVAC repair and reported it to AHS. AHS has now assigned a different HVAC company to do the repair because it is a covered item and it's an HVAC repair which Just One Call slithered out of doing. AHS told us they are investigating this company -- Hopefully AHS will drop them as a provider. After 12pm I finally called and they said the tech would arrive around 2pm and that didn't work for our schedule, I had already taken the morning off work. So, they rescheduled to Saturday between 1-5pm. Guess what?! Never showed up, never called. Don't waste your time with this company, so unreliable and inconsiderate with customers time. It isn't hard to make a phone call and communicate that you are late or you need to cancel the appointment to your customers but they just leave you hanging. This company should be called "Just Multiple Calls." Our furnace went out, and our insurance company AHS, sent them. 1st visit -technician was on his cell phone for 20 minutes dealing with a personal car insurance claim. After waiting for him to be done with his phone call, I asked him what the diagnosis was. He said everything was fine and left. (Even though I told him it was the inducer motor because it kept going on and off). 2 days later it went out again, so the insurance company sent JOC back. 2nd visit, it was a technician named Greg. The furnace is in the attic. When he arrived, he tried to say he could not get into the attic. (even though all technicians that came before him, including from his own company, had no issues. Just requires a ladder). After "forcing" him to go to the attic, he got on the phone and was facetiming someone at the company (not speaking english). I asked him what the diagnosis was and he wouldn't say. I explained that we'd been through this already, and I couldn't have him leave without a diagnosis to report to the insurance company. It was simple, the inducer motor and it needed to be replaced). He tried to leave without providing any info, an invoice or diagnosis. I had to chase him to his van. He was on the phone the whole time with someone at the company. Since was taking pictures of his van (as evidence he was there), he finally wrote the diagnosis and said he'd come back to fix it. They never called. After multiple follow ups, they made a bogus claim and said it was a problem with electrical. They knew this would trigger another appointment, but I had to go through the process with the insurance company. The electric company came, and said there was no issue with the electrical and nothing was tripped. They were confused as to why Just One Call made that claim. They also found the furnace was unplugged and a nail had been jammed into the inducer motor. Shady. Once the electric company reported their finding to the insurance company, it was cleared for Just One Call to come back and fix the furnace. Surprise surprise, after several calls, the job got transferred to Global HVAC because Just One Call denied it. (I'm glad they did because Global HVAC ended up being awesome, but Just One Call is shady). I think they make money on bogus visits through the insurance company. They just keep making appointment after appointment. I guess they get paid by visit. I'm not sure if JOC is paying marketing companies for these fake 4 star reviews, but they do not know how to fix furnaces. Global HVAC ended up replacing the inducer motor in under an hour, while these clowns at Just One Call made appointment after appointment. Don't call these guys at all they are frauds read more

Ash and Just One Call did an awesome job.. During the heatwave this past week our AC went out in the middle of the night Friday evening.. during the weekend! I called many repair companies and JOC actually had a REAL answering service that was able to schedule a call in the next 2 days (Monday Morning). As you would expect they were really busy but were able to fit me in. All of the others ones were just "leave a message" (never got a call back until Monday). On Monday, we got a call from Ash in the scheduled window and said he was on his way. He arrived with a mask on and all of his equipment to our unit and was able to diagnose the issue quickly (Blown Capacitor). He went to the truck and got the replacement part (They keep their truck filled with the right parts!). He was in and out of job in under 30 minutes! This company is a total rip-off. They were sent to me through American Home Shield (Who would get a 1-star rating too) Anyway I had two guys show up at my home in a Brand-new Mercedes van with no company logo on it. They were nicely dressed in street clothes (NO Uniforms) No Id's of any kind and I didn't even see any tools. They both went up on my roof and were back at my door in about a half hour. I was told that I had a bad capacitor a Freon leak and completely out of Freon. the repair would be $1600. They didn't leave any paperwork and left. I eventually got a written statement that had no mention of a bad capacitor BUT I still had a leak and no Freon with a$1400 estimate. I contacted another company and had them check it out. AC unit was just out of Freon. New company just refiled the Freon and tested OK. I BELIEVE THESE CROOKS AT JUST ONE CALL JUST EMPTYED MY FREEON AND WERE TRYING TO RIP ME OFF. Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had with any company. I wish I never had them come in the first place. 3 issues: 1) they had to make 6 trips to finish a job (replacement of AC condenser, which is a job that normally takes less than a day) 2) they are regularly late (they were late by 5 or more hours on 3 occasions) 3) at the time of the installation the tech told me they accidentally ordered a condenser that is the wrong size but that it would be no problem. It turned out to be such a big problem that the system would freeze up and stop working. I never write negative reviews and am usually fine if things don't go as planned but in my experience there was a pattern of incompetence with this company. read more

There was some confusion between JOC and AHS (no big surprise given past history with home warranty companies). The unit installed was an appropriate size for my unit, albeit not the same rating as specified per home warranty coverage. He agreed to reimburse the cost difference between an 100K and 80K BTU furnace unit and mailed out the check promptly. This is good customer service and I appreciate the timely follow-up. I've ran the new furnace a few times since it was installed last week and it is running great. Honestly, its a relief to have this whole process over with and thank you again to the JOC installers and office staff for accommodating all issues promptly. read more

I am finally able to add to my story. In July 2019, I contacted my home warranty company because of a HVAC issue. They sent Just One Call to diagnose and fix the problem. The neighbors below me stated that my HVAC was dripping water into their unit. The technician Jonathan flushed a pipe and that was pretty much it. I was a little skeptical about the service but I had home warranty coverage. While Jonthan was in my unit he left for approximately 30-40 minutes. I thought he left, but he came back about 35 minutes later. With the issue fixed the neighbors wanted reimbursement for their damage which my homeowners insurance declined. In October 2020, I was served small claim documents by my neighbors regarding damage to their unit in the amount of $9,500. I contacted Just One Call in order to speak with Jonathan and they told me he did not work their. Several days later my mother called and they told her he was out on a call. (Red Flag) To make a long story shorter, at the first court hearing the owner of Just One Call was a witness for the plaintiffs. I was In shock because my home warranty company hired them. Why would a company that I paid to diagnose and repair the HVAC in my unit testify against me. I do not even know how they knew the neighbors below my unit. In April 2021 we final had a hearing and the Court ruled in my favor. Lessons learned: Do your homework, read reviews on the BBB, if possible reach out to reviewers and ask questions, watch what your technician is doing and ask questions, video the work being done, take copious notes, etc. This was an extremely difficult review for me because I felt embarrassed for falling for all of this. But I learned a lot from this situation. read more

This place is a piece of work. Greg came out and diagnosed my system and said I needed a high voltage fuse at 150.00 and 2 lbs. He quoted me 190.00 per pound and I declined and stated the fuse was 150.00 because it was high voltage. I purchased the fuse and paid for the service call, which I was told the 75.00 would be Apply towards any repairs. Not only did he not apply the 75.00 towards my repair but I later found out the high voltage fuse he charged me 150. Cost less than 10.00. This is a scam company .please be aware of them. They came to replace my HVaC from AHS in summer. They made wait for weeks to replace in peak summer after getting the advance. With the installation of HVAC they broke the condensation pipe on roof and made my ceiling leak and after I called them they didn't fix it calling it a rusting issue even though it's a PVC pipe and need a plumber . They also didn't take the permit from city before starting the work. And charged my credit card without completion Of work without my authorization. After many reminders the took the permit and never requested the final inspection from city. I still have roof damage and not then or AHS has been able to fix the leak and ceiling. read more
