I am shocked that my review might be the only 1-star rating, for which Yelp may remove it as fraudulent. The only reason I want to quote with VT was their 5-star rating, but not only that, but proof positive that they showed up on time for the job review/quote and quoted me on time within a day. However, delay after delay to provide us an installation date, upon excuses of unavailable stock from the vendor, running a large job now and we don't have manpower to do yours, and then total silence. We were GHOSTED! Ultimately and unfortunately, had to go with another vendor, which did charge me $3K more than VT's quote; so, my guess is that they had low-bid by mistake and rather than fessing up to it and asking for more money, they just ignored our calls. I see you do respond to yelp messages, and you might very well know this job I'm referring to here. What excuse do you have? I'm sorry, but this deserves a 2-star. read more

I had these guys work on my A/C this past August. Was happy with their service then; I am beyond happy with their service now. I called them back again to help with my furnace. In addition, I called 2 other companies. I will no longer waste my time with any other HVAC company. The other two companies were scheduled first. They each wanted to charge $129 just to come out. I was willing to pay this since I assumed it would be quality work. My mistake. The first company came by, looked at the furnace and said it was too old and installed improperly, which prevented them from working on it. They left and did nothing. Said we should upgrade the entire unit. The second company came by, took a part out (dropped 4 screws during the process), struggled to get it back in, then told me they couldn't fix it and the whole unit needed to be replaced. The only good part is neither company charged me the $129 since they didn't really do anything. After having two companies basically tell me the same thing, I called Sevan at VT and told him to cancel our appointment since I didn't want to waste his time. I just assumed he would come by and give me the same diagnosis. I explained to him why I was cancelling, to which he replied that it sounded like it could be the circuit board. He also added they could get circuit boards to just about any furnace (even if it was older). So I kept the appointment. So glad I did! They came by on Tuesday, confirmed it was the circuit board, and was able to order and install it today (3 days later). The other companies were very focused on upselling; their suggestions always came back to replacing the unit. Funny thing is, they didn't provide the quotes I requested for replacing the unit. Sevan and his Dad (found out it was his Dad while we were chatting) were very focused on NOT upselling, but rather fixing the issue. Seriously. On multiple occasions before they fixed the furnace, they kept suggesting that we hold off on replacing the entire unit, that they would be able to fix it and that replacing the unit should be delayed as long as possible to save us money. When it comes times to replace the entire unit (both A/C and furnace), I will be contacting these guys and no one else. I don't trust the other companies now. Tenant informed me that the furnace wasn't consistently turning on so sent out a project request over yelp on Saturday morning. VT was the first to respond in a few minutes, before 8AM. No weekend availability so scheduled an appointment for the following Monday and was quoted the $39 diagnostic fee. Appointment occurred on-time within the scheduled 2-hour window; they found (3) issues: 1. Furnace was dirty resulting in an inconsistent on/off pilot light reading 2. Thermostat was set to eco-mode 3. Furnace had a limiter set that would prevent it from turning on at times VT cleaned and changed the furnace limiter and reset the thermostat to full manual mode. Our AC unit has an inconsistent issue. The motor turns on but there is no air coming out. It happens...well inconsistently. VT Heating came out, climbed up the roof and of course the unit was working and not having any issues... He let me know it could be one of two things and since it was not happening at the time he could not tell me exactly what the issue was. The A/C unit broke while my condo was in escrow.
