Super glad to have had a space to relax for a little bit in before boarding for my flight. There aren't too many lounge options available (that I have access to anyway) at IAH, so was super excited to see that there was a Centurion Lounge available. Took the SKYWAY (airside) from Terminal C to Terminal D for the lounge. Got the QR code on my way over using the AMEX app, checked in and was seated in the bar area within a minute of arrival. Had a server named Jeremy assigned to my table/area. He was incredibly friendly and provided extraordinary service. Made drink recommendations and even offered to swap out the drink if I didn't like what I ended up tasting. It did take a little while for my cocktail to arrive, but that's likely just because of how many drinks the two hardworking bartenders had to make. The hot food bar was a bit disappointing, if I'm being honest, as compared to other Centurion Lounges I've been lucky enough to have visited (SFO, LAS, SEA, DEN, etc.). However, super glad I was able to get a bit of hot food and dessert without having to incur additional out-of-pocket at the airport. Left 10 mins before boarding and walked back to gate in Terminal C instead of taking the SKYWAY and made it in time. 4/5 will definitely visit again in the future if traveling out of IAH by myself (since you have to pay for guests now if not spending at least $60k a year). read more

Great AMEX lounge. Crowded like all lounges now it seems. Sometimes hard to even find a seat (day and time of day matter when trying to avoid overcrowding at AMEX lounges). What I love about these lounges are the always clean restrooms and just the overall cleanliness. The food options are typical here as most other AMEX lounges. The cocktails at the bar are always good and a welcome respite from the airport busyness. They have a juice station and the juice is usually a delicious option (this one at the time of my visit was a beet/apple variety). Just wish these lounges were all bigger as it only seems like they will continue to be used more and more in the future. read more

The attendants at the location are snarky and rude including the manager, Mr. Parr. I have been to 6 AMEX Lounges and this was bar far the worse service and attending that I have ever had. Training needs to be done. read more

I've been coming to Centurion lounges for 3+ years now and the service has always been stellar. They added a hostess to seat people during busy hours - and be warned, if you try to enter during the breakfast (8:15-9:00) or lunch (11:30-12:30) rushes, especially on weekends, there will be a 5-10+ minute wait - which helped a lot. It's not the fault of the lounge staff that AMEX has issued so many Platinum cards, so people saying that the lounge is too small, get over yourselves. Food offering remains better than most airport offerings and complimentary juice, coffee, and cocktails are always a positive. Even during the morning breakfast rush, I'm able to ask the bar to add some Bailey's to my coffee with minimal wait. I'm also delighted that over time, they've taken allergies more seriously and clearly mark most common allergies now. Pre-wrapped chocolate muffins can also be a nice treat to snack on the plane. Please don't forget to tip your bartender and waitstaff :) read more

Unfortunately like many of the reviews, the AMEX centurion lounges have become ridiculously packed. The wait itself was 30-40 minutes and once we got in, it almost felt like a zoo. There were people everywhere and you have to almost squeeze by some people to get to places. While the decor holds the ambiance, the crowd makes it hard for it to be a relaxing experience. Other than the check in experience, the food was great as always, and they were constantly refilling the stations to ensure there would be enough. The wellness shot was very yummy along with the cantaloupe juice. Thank god for plenty of outlets and great wifi. It was easy taking a quick meeting at the lounge despite the chaos. read more

I used to think the worst Centurion lounge was in LGA. Then I came to Houston! Just several connected rooms with no theme. Smallest food selection I've seen in a Centurion Lounge with the ubiquitous copy and pasted chicken as the usual standard. They've permanently posted signs that state they're at capacity even when they are not. Don't be scared away. At check in the only two agents on duty were assisting a clueless traveler with flight information even though they have zero ties to any airline. They ignored a line that formed behind him. They have a lot of comfortable seating, and the bar/kitchen area is small, but has a lot of options. There's plenty of free alcohol that you can get at the bar, and the food selection, while crowded, has a lot to offer. Their breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, pancakes, a tofu and pineapple, curry, a Shakshuka, fruits, yogurt, juices, and smoothies. The nice thing is that this lounge was not that busy in the morning. Most centurion lounges are packed all the time! Even if you fly out of a different terminal, there is a sky train that connects you to all the other terminals within about five minutes. read more

Miniscule lounge completely stuffed with people, including multiple women calmly admonishing toddlers to "use your words" as they scream for their food to be cut into smaller pieces. On the plus side, I had to walk about a quarter of a mile from my gate (in D) to get to the lounge (somehow also in "D"). I left. Yep, I was lounging in the AMEX Centurion Lounge while I had a long layover between flights in Houston. I had met up with friends heading to the same destination, and this place was the absolute spot to chill out in between flights. When I came they had a small breakfast buffet with complimentary drinks. The food was very good, and the service was great!! They made sure to keep the place quiet also, they had a phone room if you needed to make a call. Lots of chairs and comfortable couches to sit on. You have to take an elevator to get here, which does get crowded, but it's well worth it. A great place to be if you have an American Express Card and a lot of time in the airport!! read more

Love the American Express Centurion lounge. This IAH location has the friendliest staff and provides excellent service. Holding back on the 5th star due to a close time of 8pm. It's my favorite lounge in IAH but I'm not able to enjoy it frequently due to my evening flight times. IF I'm able to sprint from my connecting gate to terminal D before the lounge closes, usually they are about to close the bar (walked in more than on one occasion where the bar was already closed) and the food is at the end of service (cold and not at its best). The AMEX Platinum has been so useless for me with regards to The Centurion Lounge at LAX that I hadn't even thought of looking up whether IAH had one. So when I landed at IAH and realized that there actually was one there, I knew I had to at least check it on my way out. Getting here is a bit of a maze as you have to go through Terminal C and through the duty free shop before you get to an elevator that takes you down to the floor where the lounge is. Then you have to walk the corridor before you actually get to the lounge. Sound confusing? Yeah, because it is. The lounge itself is...cozy, I guess? It's not really overly impressive because of how it's located below ground. No windows at all for natural light. But AMEX does do a good job of making sure there's lot of seats for you to relax at, work at, or eat at. The food is really why I came here. On this particular day, they had tomatillo roasted beef, charred cauliflower and black-eye pea stew, steamed corn with pickled peppers are garlic aioli, and warm potato salad with buttermilk dressing. Also had a full salad bar. I mean, the food was fine, not the best I've had at a lounge but it was free. The bar did look popping, but since I don't drink it wasn't really useful to me. The Houston Centurion Lounge was fine, but it still doesn't compare to one in Miami, which is the reason I even got the AMEX Platinum card in the first place. Had two hours to kill so the lounge was the spot to be! This lounge was organized really well as they ensured that you had a seat. As it got more packed, they would walk you to an available seat for your group size. Wonderful cocktails with many options! They also had specially made juice, tea and a latte/cappuccino machine which was amazing. Food was good, with a mix of soups, mains, salad, and for dessert there was delicious cake and cookies. I always get excited when I know there's a centurion lounge where my airport is. So we definitely had to try this place. We had a layover at this airport, and not going to lie- this lounge was a walk. We were there when in opened in the AM. We were welcomed right away, and walking in there was plenty of seats to find. This lounge was a little bit smaller compared to other centurions, but it did what it was supposed to. Their food was good! We liked their little smoothies a lot. FYI they do not serve alcohol until 0700, so morning mimosas will have to wait until then. I can see this location getting busy real fast, so if your in the area I recommend saving a spot through the app. read more

The American Express Centurion Lounge at Houston Airport was quite a treasure hunt to find. The elevator is located at the back of the duty-free shop which very interesting. Then down a long hallway and finally to the club. The club itself is just as wonderful as other American Express Centurion lounges in terms of the food and drinks being very good. I had a service issue and ask to speak to a manager and I was told "there ain't none, call the number on the back of your card." Really? There is no manager in the whole place? Okay but what a surprise. My service issue was with one of the front desk check in people. While I was being checked in by her co-worker, she removed her mask, and picked her teeth with her pinky finger then use the same finger to pick her ear. Once she tired herself out I was able to explain to her that the lounge opened at 7am and not a minute before that time. We landed about 6 am from SFO and we were ready to eat and snooze a bit before our next flight. The centurion lounge is located behind a duty free shop. You have to take an elevator down and walk along a stark hallway. The whole time Camilla was telling me about her grand plans to eat and drink. She said she was also going to take a bird bath. Well, we were the first in and we were able to snag a lounge chair. After a little food (yum!) and champers we promptly fell asleep. The mad dash to our gate was hurried to say the least. Great lounge with lots of options for food and drink. Very nice staff. And if you can snag a lounge seat you can fall asleep and snore around strangers just like me! read more

Pretty decent AMEX lounge. Been to a few Centurion lounges in different airports & I've been to this one twice now. Getting here can be problematic - it's located in the D gates and you need to take an elevator that's located inside a duty free store. Kind of hidden away. The first time there was a huge line to get in, the second time I just walked right up. Guess it depends on the time of day how busy it is. There's some comfortable seating, but mostly just tables. Of course there's the free buffet food & alcoholic drinks, breakfast was OK (garlic potatoes/bacon/scrambled eggs/fresh fruit) Lunch was delicious! Have been through here during pandemic a couple of times. It's very nice and organized. Online check in very effective. Food station has a wide variety and very healthy. Drinks are very good. I usually get here in the morning so I try to have both breakfast and then lunch if the layover is long. It is far from C gate as it's by D gate, hard to find so find your duty free store first then follow the sign. Seeing that once the pandemic is over I might have to fly through Houston for Brazil, I'd consider this airport more than other airports in light of this nice small lounge. read more

Wow I was so impressed with the Centurion Lounge at Houston Airport IAH! My international flight was delayed and after going to the unimpressive United Club, I Stumbled upon the American Express Centurion Lounge in Terminal D. Finally I get to use this perk with my Platinum Card! I arrived at 10:44 am, the tail end of breakfast service where the food was delicious! Scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, mini pancakes, granola, fruit salad, yogurt. Then at 11 am, lunch was served and it was Indian buffet! Chef Justin Yu gets 10 stars for his recipes! Sous chef Demetrius Blake made the lunch and it was outstanding! Carrot and cilantro soup, grilled chicken thighs with oregano gremolata, za'atar flash fried cauliflower, chickpea salad, turmeric jasmine rice, Cobb salad, wheatberry salad - all delicious! Once inside, enjoy a crowded room with no windows, poor ventilation and no where to comfortably relax after you wait in another line for a drink and buffet. It took a little work to find the lounge. It is in the D terminal near gate D6 but the elevator to get to the level is actually inside and to the rear of the duty-free store. I would love to review the American Express Centurion Lounge at Terminal D in IAH, however I cannot since even though I'm a loyal Platinum card carrying customer who was refused entry base on discrimination. The man at the front desk denied me and my daughters entry because my 2 year old was crying (She would have stopped if he had let us in so I could give her some food). I am a mother traveling alone with her kids and to be refused entry, and refused entry so rudely and with such rude facial expressions even my 8 year old teared up at the treatment, is discriminatory. Since IAH doesn't have a Delta Skymiles lounge, I decided to take the trek over to a different terminal to check out the AmEx Centurion lounge and I was very glad I did. It had an elevated appearance from most Delta lounges and the food was tasty, a bit more gourmet and replenished frequently. Restrooms are clean and well appointed and service throughout the lounge was great. The big negative was the size of the lounge and the wait to get in - it felt cramped and busy. Hopefully with some of the changes that have been made to their program this issue will get better. Overall I'm glad I made the hike over for a quick visit! read more

Do you ever feel the entire airport experience to be tiresome and overwhelming? If that's the case, American Express has a solution to alleviate this; the Centurion Lounge at IAH. The lounge is located in Terminal D (international terminal) after security and the best part about IAH is that the terminals are all connected airside without going through security again. Finding the lounge, however, can be tricky for first timers. The elevator, which has a dedicated button to get up to the lounge, is located inside the duty free shop and there are no markings or indications to guide you which can be cumbersome for many. Let's get the elephant out of the room, this is a departure lounge, the hours of operation is 6am - 8pm and you get entry into this lounge via the Amex Platinum, Delta Reserve or the Centurion credit cards (doesn't matter whether it's personal or business). There are no day passes available and the access, for right now, is you + 2 guests (the guest access will be going away on February 1, 2023, after which you'd need to pay $50 per guest). You have to present your credit card and your boarding pass upon entry and access is permitted only within 3 hours of your departure. The lounge itself is chic but on the smaller side (compared to the other Centurion Lounges) which often results in big lines to be seated. The lounge has a dedicated wellness space in partnership with Calm which I found fascinating. Food and drinks offered here are top tier and delicious. They have a Buffett area for food which consists of salad, meats and vegetables along with some desert and cookies to round off this section. There is a drinks menu to order speciality cocktails and I must admit, the drinks were fantastic. I got a couple of drinks and they were both delicious and had the right amount of alcohol to get me the buzz. There is complementary Wi-Fi, abundant charging ports besides every table, which, by the way, are constantly kept clean and the food is refreshed frequently given the traffic this lounge generates, all of this I'd attribute to the staff working here. They do a fantastic job in keeping this place up and running all the time and ensure that the guests are taken care of. Amex Centurion Lounges are the cream of the crop in terms of Lounge experience (at least domestically) and this lounge keeps that appeal. The service here is fantastic, the lounge has good lighting and the food and drinks are a hit. Although the lounge is on the smaller side, they do, however, have dedicated work and wellness areas for people who'd enjoy those amenities. The front desk people are friendly and hospitable and the staff working here does a fantastic job sustaining the high standard that this lounge demands. AmEx, unfortunately, would be getting rid of free guest access early next year, which I think is a big blow to the card benefits. Expect a line to enter this lounge if you travel during peak hours. read more

I am so glad that the lounges are starting to open again. Traveling during covid is a little more difficult as there are limited numbers of restaurants open in the terminal and seats are also limited. I had 1.5 hrs layover in Houston so I decided to relax in this lounge. The elevator to the entrance was a bit hard to find as it was in between stores and it was a little dark. You take the elevator down to the entrance. Once you're out of the elevator, just follow the path and you will see the lounge. I usually use the DFW location only so it was my first time at this location. I liked how spacious and clean it was. There were a lot of tables and chairs so I could easily find a seat, even though some seats were closed to keep social distancing. Lunch was delicious as always. Amex lounges have really good quality food. Temporarily, they have a staff there to serve the meal for you instead of self-serving due to covid. This lounge was crowded!! Most had to wait to be seated. The Servers were very nice and helpful. The entry staff and others moving about were much less so. They were rather aloof and not very friendly. The food bar was relatively small but the food items were good and restocked frequently. Luckily I didn't have to wait, although an attendant led me to my seat...the place was absolutely packed on a Saturday afternoon. Service overall seemed to be good. Food was good as usual. Let me start by saying that the pandemic ruined many previous opportunities for me to visit the coveted Centurion Lounge (TCL) due to cancelled trips, but Mama we finally made it! Checking in at the front desk was a very easy process and once I entered I felt the lounge was quite "cozy"... This particular location was not as large as I imagined and there were already quite a few people seated around which made it seem a little cramped, but I was able to score some seats at the bar that provided some space. The bar was decorated nicely and the bartender Charles was extremely friendly, funny, and provided amazing service. The kitchen was transitioning from breakfast to lunch while I was there so I got to try the fare from both menu offerings. I must admit that the breakfast foods were some of the best I've had in an airport lounge and I've been to many. The cocktails were also well executed and made with a quality grade of alcohol. Overall, a good experience and I definitely would like to visit another location of TCL to compare notes. Hopefully, the next one will have a larger layout with more seating available. read more

Staffs are friendly, and makes sure everyone is having a good time. There is a quiet room for those who want to sleep or just want some peace, a shower room if you need to shower, a telephone room for those who need to make an important call and doesn't need unnecessary noises, a bar with pretty decent choice of food, and a buffet table which serves a variety of food depending on the time of the day.
