We had blue moon and it tasted a bit watered down. We then had the hazy IPA and it was really good . Lots of options to choose from . The issue was - SERVICE !! For so many people sitting in bar , there was only one bar tender and it was making the whole process so slow ! Once we get an order , it takes 10-15 mins for the next time someone comes and asks us .. with the higher influx of customers during Cisco live week- they should have hired more helpers . Food was good overall and wasn't that pricey .! Price wise everything was normal and not too expensive . We had guac and chips and pizza and few other stuff . Believe it or not but the food here is 10/10. My group of friends and i got the margarita pizza and the tomatoes tasted like they were picked straight from a garden. If they had told me they had their own private garden outside i would believe them. We also got the giant pretzel, rock shrimp, and nachos. Everything was so good. The drinks are that like you would get at any other late night bar, i wouldn't say anything special about them but the happy hour is extended until 8pm. They were obviously hand breaded with what seemed to be a corn flake breading and fried beautifully. It came with 4 sauces: ranch (I couldn't tell if it was from scratch, but it tasted great), standard ketchup, honey mustard that was handmade and phenomenal, and a very unique and delicious BBQ sauce. My wife and I shared the hot chicken sandwich. This was amazing, homemade slaw, a spicy variant of that bbq sauce, and hand cut potato chips (a little under fried)....for $16!! IN GASLAMP!! Easily worth triple in a swankier establishment. Understand that this place is a bar. It has sticky tables, people playing beer pong on a Sunday afternoon, and a vibe that I haven't wanted to partake of in 10 years. The food however, completely took us by surprise. The food is nothing to write home about and the food service is slow, but if you're just looking for a good HH before the game, this does the trick at a reasonable price. Pros: good priced HH, even on the weekends! Cons: really slow service. Took 30 minutes for sub-par nachos that didn't even have meat, and we were one of three tables in the restaurant at the time. Alas I had to say something (I don't love doing that) and they didn't charge me for it and let me order a different drink. Very nice of them. American Junkie is more of a drinking spot to hang with friends and listen to punk, grunge, emo and pop rock hits. I really liked the aesthetic of this place! Service was a bit rocky, the waitress I encountered was nice, but not very attentive. Also, the place seems heavily understaffed. I came at a time when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant and the food still came out somewhat late. Oh, and there was this guy who made me very uncomfortable, he had staring problems. I don't know if he was a busboy or what, this dude was rude! American Junkie offers other American fare like chicken, burgers, and classic appetizers (mozzarella sticks, shrimp, nachos etc.). I spotted a few fun alcoholic drinks exclusive to SDCC. American Junkie is a large space with plenty of seating which includes booths, tables, outdoor seating, and a large bar with stools. Came in for the Ohio state / Michigan while in town for WWE. Everyone was very friendly. The atmosphere was awesome! I did think for as busy as it was, the restaurant could have been more forceful with guests about seating. Lots of open seats because people weren't sitting with strangers. In restaurants I've worked for, if it's that busy we make it family style seating. We won't allow open seats when there's folks wanting to spend money with us. It was standing room only by 9am and we ended up eating elsewhere because there was no where to sit. Food looked amazing from what people around us ordered. I gave American Junkie two chances because my girlfriend wanted to try the salads and fries again. Both times we sat outside and both times we had the same brunette waitress. Both times were a disaster. The first visit she forgot the fries. She admitted the mistake and brought them at the end of the meal. I still tipped eighteen percent but it was not a great start. The second visit was worse. She forgot to put the dressing on the side which matters because my girlfriend follows a strict diet. When we ordered another glass of wine she asked if she could take the dirty glass back to refill because "they do not clean glasses well." That was already disgusting but on top of that she was coughing nonstop right next to guests who were eating. If you are sick stay home. It took twenty five minutes to get the corrected salad and by then I had already finished my teriyaki chicken and vegetables. They also charged extra for a tiny cup of teriyaki sauce. While all of this was going on the waitress ran into her friends outside and started swearing loudly right in front of us. The final straw was watching her cough, take our used wine glass, and then set it back up on the bar rail for the bartender. That was it. We canceled the wine and decided we were done. Between forgotten orders, long delays, coughing fits, swearing, and total lack of professionalism, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in San Diego. We will not be back. Management should train this waitress on hygiene, professionalism, and the basics of customer service read more

Great bar in Gaslamp. We came in for the last quarter of the Chiefs vs. Bills play off game and they were BUSY. The bar was full and most tables were taken, but they had a few available inside and the entire patio available. They have an evening happy hour that's also available during the weekends, which was perfect for Sunday Night football! We ordered a few drinks and appetizers - Buffalo boneless wings and chips, guac and salsa. Our boneless wings actually came out as cauliflower wings, not sure if the kitchen messed up or if the server brought us the wrong dish. But she was quick to recognize they were wrong and bring us the right wings. The Buffalo sauce was actually spicy and the wings were huge. The chips & dips were standard but perfect for a game night. The hostess was not too inviting, but as we were about to walk away, a gentleman walked up to us and convinced us to go in with a bar promotion.
