Parking is little limited but on the side of the establishment is an auxiliary parking. As you walk inside you see the old power station. As you enter you are taking to your seat, either inside or in the patio area to see the view of the river. The personnel are very helpful and kind, they answer any questions regarding the menu. Now the food I choose the "Pecan Crusted Chicken" with a side salad and "Poblano Corn", there are many options for your sides to make it your choice. As far as the taste of the meal, it was delicious and outstanding flavors, I highly recommend this place.

I didn't want to believe some of the reviews about this because I believe in having the experiences for myself but my fellow yelpers weren't lying.... Our service was not its best. The guy started by serving us water and literally throwing the straws at our table it was so odd and came off as disrectpful. I would say it's because he was so busy but that wasn't even the case. Granted we were a larger table but like I said we all were working well with him. I think the worst of it was instead of going around the table and handing my mom her salad he reached over my sister and spilled all the ranch all over her hair and blouse. We were all pretty shocked! Mistakes happen that's for sure but it just seemed like his rushed behavior caused the mistake. The ambiance was nice! Very chill I loved the water right outside the restaurant that was nice too. I will give credit where it's due they did comp her meal but just because my mom had to point it out not because it came out of them. It just was a very different experience.

It used to be a place we could rely on for a solid meal and a good atmosphere. Unfortunately, our visit on the evening of 09/08/26 felt like a completely different restaurant. We sat at the bar and still waited roughly 15 minutes before we could order drinks, then another 20 minutes before our food order was taken. When my sandwich arrived, the meat was raw and I found multiple hairs in it. That is not a small mistake or a minor inconvenience; it is a serious food-quality issue and completely unacceptable. At the same time, employees who appeared to be working were sitting at the bar talking and goofing off while guests were waiting for service. We also heard profanity being used, including the N-word. That level of behavior in front of customers was shocking and incredibly unprofessional. What makes this review especially disappointing is that we know this location has been better than this. We have seen what 54th Street can be, which is why this visit felt less like one bad night and more like a location that has lost its standards. The service, food quality, and professionalism were all far below what we had come to expect from the brand. It is genuinely disappointing to watch a place we had enjoyed fall this far. I hope the ownership and management team sees reviews like this and takes them seriously, because there is clearly a lot that needs attention. We wanted to keep liking this location, but after this experience, we cannot justify coming back or recommending it to others.

You go way to the back and down a steep flight of stairs. My son, his wife, and I left my wife and grandbaby in the saloon and headed down. When you get down there, you are suddenly in a beautiful Tiki bar with so many amazing things to gawk at. It sort of felt like waking up in OZ. We were the first people there, so we got to sit at the bar and watch our drinks being made. They have about 15 or so different specialty tiki drinks. Each one comes in a particular piece of glassware. I don't know how the bartender keeps them straight. He was constantly pouring different things into a shaker. Then he would shake it and pour it into the glass that was already filled with crushed ice. One of the drinks even had a smoking cinnamon stick. My drink was really good. It was the Three Dots and a Dash. It came in a barrel and was decorated with a skull toothpick that had three cherries and a piece of pineapple to represent the dots and dash. It was super strong! I was ready to risk it all and go for another drink, but it had gotten packed inside the bar. We could tell the bartender was stressing. They really need two for times like that. My wife spends the night at my son's house in New Braunfels every Thursday to give them a date night. Evidently, this is where they always go. I can certainly see why!

This is not a place to have a quick drink, as the bartenders really craft the art of the cocktail you order (expect 15-20 min for 2 drinks). I would love to come back and try more!

It tasted great and it made me excited to come back and try the other options they have! The curly fries were also seasoned well and very crisp. They might've been a bit understaffed because there was no one at the register when I walked in so I had a wait a minute or two before receiving service. But when she took my order and gave us our food she was super nice. The food also didn't take long to come out either. I very much enjoyed the outdoor area I sat at with my friends. The cars driving by were a bit loud but my friends and I still enjoyed our time and the flowers around the area were very pretty. Highly recommend and I need to come back here!!

My partner and I went on a Sunday morning just after 11am and there were already people coming in to eat. It's popular for a reason! I've eaten here a few times and had a very consistently good time, but this review will be about my most recent visit. We visited on a rainy day, but luckily we were able to snag one of the inside tables, we ordered at the counter and our orders arrived very quickly. I got the Ratchet dog which is a beef dog with queso, hot Cheetos and fried jalapeños. Dogfather uses quality dogs and buns for all of their gourmet dogs. I found the Ratchet to be meaty, salty with just right amount of spice from the jalapeños. My partner got the Pop it like it's hot, but removed the jalapeños. This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. If you live in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and make a trip over at least sometimes. If you like hot dogs you won't go wrong.
