Thankfully we didn't get my husband's car fixed here but they were trying to overcharge him on diagnostics. My husband is Military and was underway for the week they had it and the guy Mike was going to charge him 15 dollars everyday it sat. After we got it towed back to our house we heard several stories from multiple people who previously worked there or got work done from them that the company is notorious for scalping vehicles and making more problems than there already was just to try and get an extra buck from the customer. I bought a fully warranteed transmission from American Transmission in November. Just two months later it failed. My van, my work van, has now been in their shop for 3 weeks, and they are unable to tell me when it might be finished. Do NOT do business with them. read more

I have to say that I will do business with this company again. Richard and company were awesome to deal with. Great spirited and very, very, helpful. Richard gave me the truth about my car and worked a deal that my wife and I were able to afford. Like the old saying goes "a car is another bill". Richard was so wonderful that he invited me to a cookout at the main shop and I have to say...it was a wonderful sight to see. Yet to be determined, while dealing with a warranty issue, I was without my car for over a month and still am , now some would say that's the warranty fault but in doing so they would be neglecting the fact that the second of three units that where sent American transmission installed and informed me that the vehicle was completed to pick it up, I did so after asking if it had been test driven and was completed, but when I did I could of sworn I still heard the whine they quoted as the reason beyond a neutral switch being bad that was the reason that initiated the warranty situation of replacing the transmission in the first place , sure enough three days later the original issue shown itself again and I returned the vehicle to them! Well after a week and a half the replacement unit arrives on a Tuesday but I am told that other vehicles have come in and mine is not important enough to ensure I get prompt service after already losing income for over a month, since not being able to work without the vehicle, that it wouldn't be this week that they'd get to it! Probably due to the fact they've already been paid for doing the job!!! And the new customers are new money!!!!!!Now I've been kind and polite and satisfied with the appearance that they understood the necessity of it getting returned and held my scarcasm and comments from being about them, to criticizing the warranty company! But enough is enough !!!! I'm not sure I'd recommend taking my car or anyone's to a company that treats customers that way, what makes new vehicles more important than finishing one they've had dealt with for so long and in doing so assisted in the neglectful treatment I've suffered !!!! Let's just hope the car is done for good when it does get returned!!! If it gets returned!! read more

Very happy with the service I received here. Richard , who I think is the manager, treated me very well. And seemed very honest when I dealt with him. My transmission which had been acting up for years had finally died. They paid for my towing there if I let them do the repair. He estimated the time and the cost of the repair very close to the actual numbers. The cost came in slightly lower and the time was a day later. He wants to check out the problem fully before starting the repair to save time and money. There are at least two type of peoples that work on cars. There are "parts changers" and actual mechanics. Parts changers will just start changing out parts until the problem is fixed. Real mechanics will try to diagnose then test then start repairing. I think there is an actual mechanic at this place. I had the transmission repaired about here about 2 months ago. I put a lot of miles on my car and the transmission is working very good. Thanks for reading. read more

RUN RUN RUN. Will mess up your vehicle and make up lies and try to not take responsibility. My vehicle ran perfect with exception of their faulty transmission that was just put in within 2 weeks. During their testing they ran my vehicle HOT for I don't know how long. This vehicle has up to the minute they took it ran perfect. I have a great mechanic that can attest to I keep it up and take complete care. The day they took it I had been running errands with no problem what so ever. Now they want to blame the vehicle and me for them running it hot. Even if it did run hot, as professionals they should have not let it get to the tempature it. Not sure how much damage they did to my engine till I have it towed back to my mechanic...IT STILL HAS THEIR FAULTY TRANSMISSION IN MY VEHICLE. read more

This place repaired my transmission a few years ago. About one year later the car broke down again and I was living in a new area. This place installed faulty pieces and had to send new pieces to a place in S Carolina. Just this past week, my car has broken down again. So three new transmissions in less than four years. Now that isn't right. I would not recommend this place at all. read more
