This branch is a disaster. They do not care about their customers. I live 5 minutes from this location. I called and asked for waiting time over the phone. The representative told me if you come within 5-10 minutes, you should be out of the door in less than 2 hours. I showed up, and the rep told me my car would be ready in 2-1/2 hours. I am here for 3 hours and my car is still not taken. It will probably be close to 4hr before being serviced.. read more

Our one-month-new Volvo had a nail through the left rear tire and we brought it to the Mountain View location for repair. Later that day, we went to get our car back. The gentleman simply handed us back the key and said everything was taken care of, and was ready to move on to service the next customer. I inquired "but we haven't paid!". He stated that there was no charge, thanked us for trusting America's Tire and waved us goodbye. I'm pretty sure I forgot to say thank you to the gentleman, because I was frankly in such a shock, trying to process what had just happened! Am in the process of upgrading my 2017 Audi A3. Bought some used 18" Audi wheels and had them reconditioned, ordered some parts to lower the ride a bit - meanwhile, had to find the right tires for the 18" wheels. I was all over Tire Rack for days, trying to make up my mind. Finally decided upon a set of Bridestones, but they were on back order with Tire Rack. Quick local search and found that America's Tire had the same tire for just one CENT more, per tire. (More importantly, they would have them within a few days. I went ahead and ordered the tires online and arranged an appointment for the next week (today). I was still waiting for the new set if TPMS, anyway. (Tires arrived at the shop in two days, by the way) So, what these guys had to do was mount, balance and install the new tires, including installation of the tire pressure sensors on the wheels I brought in to them in my trunk and back seat. Then they had to remove the original wheels and bolt up the new ones. We were told 1-1.5 house and we were back in under an hour. Not only did they have the new wheels and tires on my car but they had two of the original wheels broken down in case I needed them that way to get them home. They didn't even flinch when I asked them to please mount them back up. Never been to any America's Tire and I could not be happier with the professional, polite, thorough service we received. My tire pressure indicator was low this morning, so I went to America's Tire assuming that I had pulled a nail from the residential construction around the corner. Alex said that there were no leaks, but my pressure was 26, 27 and 28 psi when they should be 35 psi. I knew the target. Alex said that tires lose 1 pound to 3 pounds of pressure per month. Thank you for the educational poke, Alex. I would not expect my bike tires to stay properly inflated for a month, so it is good to get on board and start checking my car tire pressure every three weeks. Another reminder in Outlook. We've bought tires from this company for years and have been satisfied. However, I recently replaced 4 new tires. My car generated an error message while I was driving home on my new tires, so we decided to check the tire pressure. The two right side tires were at 59 psi when the recommended pressure is 35 psi. The left tires were at 37 psi, which is fine. I believe that an employee made an honest mistake when inflating my right side tires, but there should be some checks before a car is let off the lot with the tires greatly overinflated. I wonder if this could have been a safety hazard and caused a blow out. I am grateful that my car let me know there was a problem and we were able to let some air out of the tires to bring them to the appropriate pressure. read more

I normally don't write reviews but when it do it's either bc the place screwed up or I am in awe of the place. It was the latter for this place. I've been coming to America's Tire for 10 years now. From the moment they fixed a nail in my tire for free (even though I was never a customer with them before), I was impressed by the customer service. You would think the service would be different at different locations, but every America's Tire I've been to has outstanding service. This review is about the Mtn View location where I purchased BFG KO2 and had AT install the tires on new aftermarket wheels on my 4Runner. I purchased the KO2 through AT and they were able to price match. I had an install appointment at 9 am a few days later and I was out by 10:30 am. Once I arrived, an employee checked me in immediately and my car was in the bay within 10 minutes. They quoted me 1.5 hr install time and they were spot on. Also, their tire warranty is worth it, it ain't no joke. I've actually had to use it once when a nail hit the tire too close to the sidewall. AT was able to install a new tire free of charge and I didn't have to fight with anyone over the phone about honoring the warranty. That was unforeseen. We tried shorter valve-stem TPMS but that didn't work. Ultimately we came up with a 'banding the TPMS' back away from the valve-hole on the wheel which recessed the valve enough to provide a few extra millimeters of clearance. SOLVED! I already made an appointment a week away to have my tires installed, but called to see if they had time today (a busy sat) to do everything. Talked to Jose and he said, "yes just come on by! " Had a list of specific tasks since it was not just a tire swap and Jonrae helped us with everything done to a T! I've been coming here for ten years and the last couple of times the service was unfriendly, didn't fix the issues, and required coming back twice. Now they're turning customers away all together. Brought in my X5 for new rear tires. They were unable to take off a rear wheel, so I had to take it to my service guy to remove it which they did easily. The next day I returned, America's tire swapped that tire, then ran into the same problem on the other wheel, so the next day I had to take it to my service guy again, and come back to America's Tire a third day in a row. Because they book out appointments a ways in advance, I had to wait over 2 hours each of the three days as a walk-in. What a nightmare. A tire shop can't remove a wheel? Isn't that the first step in changing tires? My BMW service guy says he sees this a lot, and that Americas Tire often doesn't have the right tools for these tires. Oh, and the last person to touch one of the tires was Americas Tire last year. So they can tighten it but not remove it. Won't be returning to this joke of a shop run by a bunch of 18 year olds. read more

This location used to be great but they are so busy, the customer service has gone downhill. Appts take longer than expected, walk in, dont even bother. And because they are so busy the customer service is non existent. Rude and cocky. Added after America's Tire response: this has been a consistent pattern that has lasted for a while. My low tire pressure light went on about a mile from here and I felt fortunate to see an America's Tire on my drive! I pulled into their parking lot and there was a check in area where someone standing outside with a mask asked what I was there for. I requested a way to check the air in my tires and he told me I'd be next in line and directed me where to park. They were incredibly busy midday on a Thursday but I waited no more than 5 mins and then was able to pull into the spot where the air valve was. The check in guy not only checked the pressure in all four of my tires, but he filled each of them, and didn't charge me anything. So grateful for the help they speedily provided in that moment - they've won over a customer for when I need new tires. read more

Had to order tires for the installation, appointments are highly recommended. I would recommend a smaller chain/shop for emergency repairs. They did break one of my valve stems/tpms sensors, causing an immediate leak, however they replaced the sensor and completed the remounting within 30 minutes the same day. They were very honest and upfront about this mistake and handled it excellently. Would definitely recommend for someone looking to replace an entire tire set. read more

Had quite a terrible experience at the shop today. I had an appointment but was left waiting for 1.5 hours until after the shop closed. I asked the technicians about my car's status; and no one knew what happened to it; there was no record whatsoever. The person who checked me in left at 6pm sharp without bothering to provide me any updates. The technician found my key left in the counter. I left the shop not knowing if my car's tires were even checked. If you have tire issues, do not come here. The service at. America's Tire used to be quite good, but it has deteriorated quite a bit recently. I recommend the ACE Tire in the next block. I recently drive to this location to have them just check a tire because I noticed a nail in it and as not sure it went through the tread or could be fixed and with just one person not even properly looking at nail in tire only came outside and looked at it briefly told me could not be fixed which I found it it did not even puncture through tread and was taken out of tire and tire was fine no leaks somewhere else because Americas tire automatically said can't be fixed and we can order you a tire this is unacceptable in times of hardship fur everyone in this day and age that companies such as this location would not properly inspect and give honest answer on saving someone's still fifty percent tread left or more on this tire so had I not had somewhere else take it out if tyre and confirm no damage or leaks in the tire I would of had you order new tire and wasted a little of money and my tire still good I will never do this location again read more

My family and I have all taken our cars to America's Tire for either a tire rotation or buying brand new tires. I just sold my Mazda3 two weeks ago and picked up a CPO Mercedes - so I was upset when my tire pressure warning light came on yesterday morning. I called America's Tire and spoke to Robert and he told me I could come by and the staff would see what is going on. I dropped by the next morning (today 8/12) at 8:00am and was greeted by Mauricio. All staff wearing masks and practicing great social distancing measures! Turns out I'd run over a nail and it was causing a leak in my tire. Bought 4 Bridgestone tires at this location and purchased the road care. Went in to have a nail removed and tire patched. Was told they couldn't touch it because my tires had wear on the inside of the tire. I ask if it was a manufacturers defect he said no. Pointed out a rear tire had cupping, ask if that was a manufacturers defect he said no. But they have no way of testing weather it was a car defect or a tire defect. They just blame the car even though I just had my car checked out by a mechanic. I been going to this location for over 20 years, this was the last time. Note I had another car that I just replaced two tires with excess wear on the right side tires. I think they might be selling manufacturer rejected tires. Great service during Covid. I was pleasantly surprised that no one had to even get into my car. I drove it up to their bay, and they just replaced the tires while I waited in their outdoor seating area. Felt very comfortable/safe getting serviced here. Everyone who was customer-facing was wearing masks and the contactless service was great. Special thanks also to Jeremy. I had called to see if they can price match some tires I found online. Not only this place has a very horrible customer service but the people here just don't care about the safety of their customer's vehicles. Did a rebalance and rotation here, I noticed my center cap was missing. To make things worse they didn't tighten 2 of lug nuts on my wheels. I can literally unscrew the lug nuts with my hands. I was in need of a replacement of all new tires of my Tesla M3 Performance, so after careful reviewing of tire places in the San Jose area, I chose America's Tire due to a lot of people's positive review. However, I am left disappointed and underwhelmed. I placed an order for the Michelin Sport All Season 4 tires and placed an appointment for 1/04. However, they emailed me A DAY BEFORE saying by my appointment was "successfully cancelled" without a reason. Confused, I called the America's Tire store in Mountain View and they told me that they canceled it due to the tire not being delivered on time. They had also said my payment method failed which was confusing since I knew I was not short on funds and on my bank statement the full amount was processing (which then went away after about 4 business days). I then asked them when they would get a delivery of my tires and they said the following week, to which I made an appointment for today, 01/12 10:00am (I do not think they would have called me for a rescheduling of my appointment either, had I not called them first). Calling them was a pain in itself, I called them about 3 times because they kept telling me that they would get back to me. However, hours would pass and no response. When I called for an update, they would put me on hold for more than 10 mins, and at around the 13 minute mark the call automatically ends, so I would have to call and tell the whole thing over again. Frustrating. I came 20 mins over my scheduled appointment time and was taken as a walk-in, to which I was okay with since that was my fault. They told me since I was taken as a walk-in, that it will be done around 5:45pm and I was okay with that as well. After showing the person in front where my car was and giving him my mileage and key, they told me that they will text me when the car is done. Pleasantly surprised, I got a text around 12:28 and they told me my car was done. However, when I arrived Nick had trouble looking for my paperwork. After about 5 minutes of looking around, he find out they they instead replaced tires on THE WRONG TESLA, even though I showed the guy where my car was and gave him my mileage when I was checking the car in earlier. I had to wait an extra ~30mins for them to out my car in bay and then take out the other Tesla's tires, and FINALLY put it on mine. No apologies or compensation for the mistake that THEY did either. I gave them one star just for them being exceptionally faster than I anticipated, which I appreciated. However, due to all of my inconveniences, I will go to a different tire place from now on since it was not as smooth of a transaction as I thought to be. TLDR; Appointment making was complicated, lack of notification from America's Tire about my late tire delivery was frustrating, and they put my tires on the wrong Tesla, which made me wait an extra 30 mins just for them to restart a whole process they never did on my car to begin with, and no apology either. read more

Serious Wheel Balance Issue I purchased and installed tires for my Subaru Outback. They installed the tires and banded the wheels. Then my car started vibrating at 80mph+. I called them and scheduled another wheel balance. They found one wheel is not balanced and "fixed it". BUT when I drive on highway the vibration still exists. I lost faith in them and scheduled a service in Subaru dealership. I doubt if the wheel hub bearing is broken. The dealership rebalanced and found TWO unbalanced wheels. Ever been to a Christmas event that had grown men dressed as elves acting REALLY cheerful, almost in an unsettling way? Take that, turn it down just a little, replace elf costumes with neat slacks and polo shirts, and you pretty much have the guys at America's Tire. If these guys were ever pissed off or having a bad day, you wouldn't know. How they are always courteous and cheerful and act like they really love their jobs is a mystery to me. Where's the happiness Koolaid everyone is drinking, and can I get some? America's Tire is probably not the absolute cheapest place to buy tires, but their prices have always seemed reasonable. And they have me sold on service - not just the friendly attitude, but also the company policies. When you buy tires, you pay a fee per-tire for free future rotation and balancing. The fee is pretty reasonable for the service you get over the lifetime of the tire. They also repair flats (e.g. due to a nail puncture) for free, even if you didn't buy your tire there. Speaking of repairs, you can also buy road hazard certificates (valid for 3 years) so that if your tire is damaged and can't be repaired, you get a new one free. I've used this exactly one time, so I probably just broke even. But purchasing these gives me peace of mind. Ever heard of Murphy's Law? This location is busy, so making an appointment will reduce your wait time significantly. On my last visit, I needed rotation/balancing and couldn't get an available appointment in time, so I had to do a walk-in visit and waited 2 hours for my car to be ready. At least there's free WiFi. Afterwards, I noticed that one of the wheel covers was not aligned correctly when reinstalled, so the valve stem was being pinched upwards. I hope these guys were more careful when doing the balancing! Regardless, my experiences here have on the whole been quite positive. read more
