This is belated from 2019 but found a draft email that I never got around to posting. INSTALLATION MISHAPS: My contractor was given the wrong color product twice. They had it wrong on the order sheet, the salesperson crossed it off on a physical copy but that update didn't get passed along. POOR PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE: We noticed some flecks in the stone that we did not expect. We called about them. Multiple times. Finally got some installation people over here to look. They were also confused and said it was not normal. Called 5 or 6 times and each time they said they would call us back but never did. Incredibly frustration. The final time I told the person I was not going to hang up and she needs to get the owner on right now -- so the owner hops on and yells at me (dropping F bombs) for harassing his staff. He calmed down and we discussed it - he sends me pictures from the showroom that show the sample product have the same flecks. So in the end that was our fault -- but we went through 6-8 other people (Sales, Installation, Measure and Fabrication guy) and none of them thought it was normal. LONG TERM WEAK PRODUCT: Like most of you, their pricing probably lured you in. It's definitely cheaper - but countertops are NOT a commodity product (I made this mistake of thinking they kinda are). Echoing others here - you will have chips and damage that should NOT happen with higher quality quartz. Given that it's not something you can easily replace, I would spend the extra $2-4K with a reputable company. I don't post many reviews. I took the time to write this 5 years later. Never dealt with a vendor as unprofessional as AMF Granite. Measurements were wrong, the final product didn't match what we agreed on, and no one took accountability. When we raised concerns, we were yelled at, hung up on, and called "money greedy." There's a total lack of integrity here. First of all, I would like to say that my countertops that I received from this company are absolutely top-tier beautiful. I'm in love with them. The installation process itself ran smoothly. The men were very respectful. They took care of things. If I had a question they were there to answer it. They were there to make sure that I knew how to follow the rules and what to do afterwards and how to care for it. However, the management side of things were an absolute disaster and very disrespectful. The scheduler accidentally rescheduled me and forgot to tell me so when the day came they had to work very hard to fit me in and while they did, the conversations I was having with management were outrageous. One of the things that he was saying was that they didn't care if I canceled my order because they make lots more with other orders. I felt very underappreciated. At the time I was upset with how management was handling things and how I was being treated. I wrote a review as they were working it out. all of which rang true as it was attitude and customer service that I was having issues with. They were able to fit me in and I was very grateful. They did a great job. The next day the manager called and asked me to take my review down. I stated that the product and installation was great, however, personally his attitude towards me and the things he said to me were not ok. THEN he THREATENED me that if I did not take down my original review, that he was going to send me to collections because I didn't deserve the discount that he gave me. Even admitting that he was in the heat of the moment and just upset and didn't mean it. Seriously, who threatened to take someone to collections to get their discount back?! My child was with me and heard the conversation and was shocked at the way I was being treated as well. Feel free to judge your customers and clients so rudely as you have me. This shows your true character. I have one other bad review on yelp. I'm sorry if that offended you but feel free to point it out! This is unacceptable. AMF Bros came in $3800 cheaper than two other fabricators for our countertops. I immediately sent them a check and THEN read the reviews. I started to get nervous. I'll preface this review with, my husband has his own construction company and does everything himself (except make and install countertops). I think this reason is why we had less of an issue than most. I sent my measurements and they sent me a quote right away. They said they were five weeks out but two weeks later, I get a text that they're coming to measure in three days between the hours of 12 - 2 pm. AWESOME! Three days later, the measurement guy arrives at 11 AM. Thanks for being early, but you specified a time...Thank goodness my husband was home. The guy that measured was unfriendly, barely spoke English, and when asked about support brackets for our overhang, he said he wasn't sure...Maybe. Probably. He leaves and we get a new quote the next day. It was $600 more than the original but it was fine because they didn't account for an overhang in the original. On my invoice, with balance due listed, it said they were installing on October 19th. That's 10 days sooner than originally quoted. Whoohooo!! I get a text a few days later that said they'll be here Tuesday, October 20th. I write back, do you mean Tuesday, October 19th or Wednesday October 20th? He texted back and said October 20th. Perfect. I asked if we needed brackets for our overhang support. He said yes and we would need three. So I order brackets on a Friday that will be here on Tues, Oct 19th. So my husband makes plans to be here on Weds and heads to a job on Mon/Tues. On Mon the 18th, I get a text saying installers will be to my home tomorrow between 8 and 10 am. I text back and said you texted me they'd be here on Weds. Can we push to Weds? "No." Okay. Since they'll be here a day early, and my brackets won't be here on time, I run to a different fabricator by my home to pay $90 for new brackets. I call my husband and he hurries and drives home late Monday night to be here. Day of installation, three guys arrive on time with our countertops. They were done in a little over an hour. They laid tarps on our floors and cleaned up when they were finished. They were professional, nice and did a fantastic job. I'm thrilled with my countertops, sink installation and faucet hole drilling. I asked them before they put the island on if they needed my brackets and he said no. Friendly FYI - If you have a 12" or less overhang with QUARTZ countertops, brackets are most likely not needed. So, three stars for the installers, the measurements they took, and the finished product. My kitchen looks amazing. One star deducted for the unfriendly measurement guy and the bracket debacle. I paid $130 for brackets that I now have to return and pay restocking fees. One star deducted for al of the timing issues from the date of measurement and the date of installation. Would I recco AMF? I would with reservations. They saved me $3800. Which is a lot of money especially when you're in a remodel. But make sure you do your research on your countertops so you know what you need and what you don't. If you want to put forth some effort to figure out details about your installation, don't mind some unfriendliness and perform follow-ups in a way so that it's almost like a mother speaking to her temperamental toddler, then yes. Do it. If you have the extra cash to throw around and want someone to do everything and you worry about nothing, then go somewhere else. read more

I am unsure if the previous reviews worked with the same company I did. AMF replaced my entire kitchen (85ish square feet of counter) along with the tops to two of my bathroom vanities. I contacted them on a Saturday, got measured on Tuesday, and had an install the following Thursday. They were quick, professional, and did a great job. And, not to mention, the cheapest and fastest. I was a little nervous at the "cheap and fast" combination, but it went perfectly! I can't attest to the longevity or durability of their counter products yet, as it's only been a couple of months, but it seems as though every contractor sells the same stuff these days. read more

I am so pleased with the job AMF Brothers did replacing our countertops with new quartz. Completely painless. I shopped around a sketch of our countertops to six different countertop shops. AMF Brothers was able to send me a detailed preliminary quote based on my measurements the same day. They were by far the cheapest and didn't nickel and dime me for items like removal of the old tops and cutting holes for a soap dispenser and garbage disposal button. After they did the actual onsite measurements, the price was almost exactly the original quote (I added two small pieces). On the day of installation, their crew showed up on time. RUN! This company is the worst. Provided an initial estimate based on our measurements. Told us installation wouldn't happen for 3 months but would let us know if there was an opening sooner. Called various times and no one could tell me if cancellation had happened or if we could be moved up. Countless times I called and provided my account number and they confused me for other customers (probably made edits to other customers accounts thinking it was mine!). The company came to do the actual measurements about a month before the placement. Following that we received an updated quote. After that quote we thought we were set. We received a call that the color we had paid for and waited so long for was no longer available. We decided to go with another color (not a decision we made lightly). They were supposed to call us the day before installation. That day around 3 pm I had not heard from them. I called and the girl told me they were not going to install until the following week. I told her we had not heard from anyone and had moved a lot around to accommodate that date. She DID NOT ONCE say sorry. Again the next week gets here and we get a call the day before to say the installation has to be pushed. No apologies. Installation day finally gets here. After the installation of the countertops and backsplash was complete, we got a call to make the final payment. The girl tells us what we owe and charges our account. A few minutes later we get a call from another girl saying we were charged the WRONG amount from SOMEONE ELSE'S account and that we owed more. She said they sent another invoice a few weeks ago and that it shows we never opened it. Her exact words "It's not our problem you never opened it". My husband confirmed it was never received. I was so upset at this point and NEVER once did we get a sorry. I was still so nice and said she could charge my card for the difference of what they messed up. Unfortunately my bank probably thought it was fraud as it was a double charge within minutes. I told her this and she said it wasn't her problem and that she needed another card NOW! I told her I needed to call my bank to ensure it went through and she said "no you have your product and I need payment NOW!". I told her to try to run the card again and call me back if there was an issue. She called me back and said it did not go through. I told her I was on a call for work and could call her back in 20 minutes with another card. She began to YELL at me. I was so taken back. She said she needed payment NOW and no I could not call her back. I had to hang up. My husband called back and made the payment as we said we would. She told him "thank you for calling me back, your wife hung up on me and was yelling at me". I was so calm on the phone to her and was treated sooooo bad. Please save yourself the headache and time. Happy with the sales experience and the product the issue with the install, showed up late, which not the problem, but since they were late they did nothing but rush to get job done leaving numerous holes in wall, the faucet cut out wrong and at an angle so can't even get faucet in correctly after spending money for 2 plumbers who both said it's the hole cut wrong. Before the installers left we told them it was at an angle since it was visible so they tried again to correct it, still wrong after my plumbers came out. Took off piece of trim under neath breakfast bar leaving drywall damage, edges to wall have big holes and not even caulked since the gap is so large. These guys did not care about getting anything correct and we're extremely careless not considering any of the damage they caused they just wanted to get out of here as quick as they could since they didn't arrive to start the install until 440pm on a Friday. Completely unacceptable for the lack of consideration to a persons home and carelessness of the install team. Also piece of counter not even glued down can it it right up. 2 phones already to manager and not one return call back yet. read more

This company pulled what I consider a "BAIT AND SWITCH" on us. We heard about this company through a friend who claimed that they had very good prices. We were remodeling our kitchen and were working with a small designer who referred us to MSI to choose our granite, so we already knew what we wanted. The design shop closed suddenly and we had to start over with someone else for our cabinets, so after we got that done, we went to AMF Bros to discuss our countertop. We walked in and met with Cesar. We explained that we had already chosen the granite we wanted from MSI. Their store did not carry the granite we selected and he assured us they worked with MSI. We had our cabinet blueprints with us for the measurements in order for them to give us the closest quote possible before their formal measurement. While we were sitting there, Cesar called MSI for their prices. After a bit, he provided us a drawing and a quote. We liked the quote and were told we had a couple of weeks to send a check for half down to secure the quote, which we did by check. We told them we expected our cabinets to come in approximately 8 weeks from the date of the quote, and we would call when they were installed to arrange for a formal measure. At least 3 times, we were receiving texts asking us if they could come measure for the job while we were still waiting for our cabinets and I had to call them and tell them we were not ready. The text did not even say, "This is AMF Bros," just a random text which read "can we come measure for your job today?" Did they not make notes when we spoke with them??? When our cabinets arrived, I called them and let them know it would be a couple more weeks and we would be ready for measure. When all was installed and measure scheduled, we went back to MSI to secure our slabs. I then called AMF and let them know MSI was holding two slabs for our job, which they acknowledged. After the measure, the gentlemen gave my husband a document to sign. It was basically identical to the original quote. Unfortunately, he did not have his glasses on and thought he signed approval to start the job, but the price on the paper he signed was $1466 more than our original quote! Nothing at all was said regarding the change in the price by the measurer. There was no breakdown of any kind on the details of the quote. Then I received another email when the laser measure was completed with another amount which was $1751 more than our original quote. BTW, we knew there could be a slight variation in the price after the formal measure. I called AMF about 1:30 pm for and explanation and the phone was answered by a sweet woman, but she put me on hold to speak with Kayla I believe because she could explain the discrepency to me. Then she came back and said Kayla was unavailable and would call me back. Two hours later I called back since I did not receive a return call, and they said their system was down and they could not get into my file. In the meantime, I had formulated an email with my questions and copies of all relevant paperwork. We they finally called me back the next day, I asked them to review my email and call me back. The call back went as follows. "Your husband signed a contract. The original price we gave you was for our in stock granite and you chose an outside vendor. If you had chosen one of our slabs, installation and fabrication would have been included." When I questioned the email with the $1751 additional, I was told we can "disregard that email, the cost would be the one my husband signed. I had to request a breakdown of the details for labor, etc. We had made it very clear that we chose an outside company when we walked into AMF as stated above. We were not in any way informed of this at our first visit there. The name of the granite selection (Snow Fall) was described in the quote from day one. Sadly, since my husband unwittingly signed the "contract," and since we put 2000 down by check months before, and since we were 12 weeks into the job and needed countertops, we decided it would be too stressful to try to dispute the down payment and start over, so we went ahead. The one star can be applied to the installation of the countertops, which was fine. I will do whatever I can to review this company on as many sites as possible. I would highly recommend you you be very, very careful if you choose this company for your countertop needs. read more

I had a really bad experience with this company. There were many mistakes made. The first mistake that happened was the invoice sent was over $1000 over the amount that I should be paying because the measurements were way off in the actual quote sent to me via email after the measurements were done. The measurements were way off, I called to complain and the girls were very rude. I tried to pre-warn them that the measurements were off, They fixed what they thought I said was correct and yet the invoice was still off they eventually got the invoice correct. The day of the first installation they came and the quartz was fabricated incorrectly. Due to the fact that they had removed and disposed of my old countertops I was now left without a sink and countertops for the next five days because they had to re-fabricate with the correct measurements. I was very upset needless to say, with two little children at home this was very inconvenient. I had to wait for a second appointment and the day of the second appointment they arrived four hours late. The manager called the night before the second appointment and threatened to cancel my second appointment due to the fact that he said I was screaming at the office girls instead of him asking what my concerns are and why I am upset. He also claimed that he was the owner of the company and when I asked the installation guys, they said he was a manager. I asked him to put himself in my shoes with two little children and mistake upon mistake upon mistake and instead of anyone of them being nice to me and trying to correct the issue, they were rude and inconsiderate of the position I was in. Instead of an apology, I was told I was aggressive. Dings in the cabinets. Discount was given but not worth the agitation and stress of the whole experience. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Do yourself a favor, purchase elsewhere. They installed our granite with a seam in the busiest area of our kitchen. The seam is in the middle and above a double basin sink. It weakened the structure and integrity of the counter. The seam is unsightly and bumpy. The installers broke a big, chunk out of the edge of the granite, near the stove. They didn't mention it, no apologies, no explanation. Very, unprofessional. Customer service has been horrible. First Marta, then Anna, then Caroline argued with us regarding our issues. Their grammar and misspelled words continue in their negative responses. NO RESOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEMS WITH AMF BROTHERS GRANITE. read more

Do not do it! Should have cancelled from the moment the gentleman came to measure for our finalized quote. Hindsight is 20/20. Ultimately, we went through with it. Installers were late. Nothing was square. Huge gaps between the wall and the countertop, and caulk and epoxy was everywhere. We called and informed them of the job that was done. They came out and determined they needed to redo the entire installation. The reinstall went just as horribly. Caulk was everywhere. They left an inch diameter gash in the finished wall and ruined the cabinet in multiple ways: burnt the finishing with their heat gun, now there are scold marks in the paint of the cabinets, and the cabinet is out of alignment from them bashing and shoving it to try and make the incorrectly sized stone fit. It would all be okay, except we are told that nothing is their fault. We are incorrect and that the cabinets were never level and true to begin with and that they didn't do anything wrong. We finished an entire remodel before they came. Everything was measured and checked for level and all drawers and doors were installed and functioning perfectly a week before we started the install process with AMF Brothers. We will not be recommending or using them again. read more

AMF installed a quartz kitchen, vanity and small alcove countertops for us. The end result is lovely. There were a few hiccups before it was done. The alcove piece was cut incorrectly and in removing it, the cabinet door next to it was damaged. AMF did recut the alcove piece and paid to have the door replaced. They also waived the delivery fee for the second trip and they handled the corrections well, though I had to bring the issues to their attention. Overall I am very happy with the results. read more

I would not even give them one star! I had a horrible experience with them and would never ever recommend them to anyone! I was excited to get new countertops until I arrived home to find water on my floor and under my cabinet. They took out the sink and water was dripping under my cabinet for hours and they told me that they are not responsible. DONT touch the plumbing if you don't want to be responsible. Not only that, I am not happy with the quartz pattern as they are obviously different and slabs did not match. Also left a film all over the counters that was hard to remove. When we called AMF we got attitude and they talked over us. They don't care about their customers and were not willing to make any accommodations to help us resolve our warped floor. You get what you pay for. Our counter in the end seems fine, but customer service is horrible and they damaged my new cabinets and sink and did nothing about it. They were rude throughout the process except at the end when they kept saying there is nothing they can do to help. The guy who came and measured used small nails to nail in the template, one was too close to the edge and cracked the side wall. Then when the installers came they did not cover the new sink. When they were drilling holes for the faucet they broke a tool into our sink leaving 2 gouges. After many attempts and pictures to get a small refund to cover expenses for fixing AMF refused to help saying we didn't report it at the time of work. We I guess made the mistake of assuming this is something you raise with the office not the contracted installers. read more

This was my 2nd time using AMF Brothers and it will be my last. The quality of their quartz is good, but the service is terrible. I purchased the stone piece and it took 3 weeks to have someone come and measure and an additional 10 days after measurement to get installed. They installed the wrong stone (white instead of brown that I picked). They apologized for the error and told me it was going to be another week to be installed.After finally speaking to the manager, they found the correct piece and got it installed 2 days later. There are other companies with quality products and higher level of customer service. read more

I bought quartz for my kitchen from AMF. Ania couldn't be sweeter. She was patient as I changed my mind a few times and she's great at returning phone calls. When installing, I liked the veining the other way around and Jose and his team did it without making me feel bad/guilty. Appreciated their patience too. Horrible job!! we paid more then $2000.00 for a quart countertop for my dream kitchen they did it in 2 parts it looks like a big crack where the joint is. The installer tried his best to make it look like one piece but you can still see it, we called and complained before the installation but we were told to paid for that one and order a new one. in other words they did my countertop with leftovers, we are very disappointed . For the most part, ordering cabinets was fairly simple. The problem is that while the cabinets are great and fairly priced, you need to make sure to check each cabinet and door carefully for any damage. Then you have to call to replace anything and pick it up at the warehouse in Villa Park. Once purchased, Sianna--the salesperson, was suddenly never available and as the point person we need to contact her, it takes forever to get anything done. She doesn't follow the protocol and then you end up waiting at the warehouse for everything. Two times we have had to come to the warehouse, which is not a short drive and both times have had to make phone calls and try to figure out what is going on. Then she will contact the warehouse directly, and this is the best part--blame is laid on the customer each time for the bad communication she has with customers. The first time she blamed us for the wrong cabinet size and filler, both of which we read directly off of the receipt. The second time we contacted her four days before heading over to the warehouse. Nothing was communicated to the warehouse. Her lack of communication and professionalism is not our responsibility. The prices are competitive, but you pay for it in the long run. read more

True the quote is competitive but they try to sneak in costly options on every line item - often not even telling you it's optional. What really bugs me is that while installing kitchen countertops, we noticed they were running a space on like $1 granite cutting boards. We ordered a few but they never gave it to us even thought they came by multiple times for installations and promised to ship it. We had complained twice already. Why they would scam people on a few dollars and ruin their reputation after a job that costs several hundred dollars baffles me. The owner is absolutely horrible to work with! About a year ago they installed quartz countertops that were not even close to what I ordered! They were yellow!! Just because they named it the same color they think it's ok! We have been working with the owner this entire time to resolve the issue. He lies over and over. He said he would replace. A week before they were scheduled to come he cancelled, he said he would pay half, when we agreed he said no, each time he lowers and lowers his offer! Now he only wants to give us $500 for their mistake. No! He made us take down our previous review or he would not even talk to us. Obviously that did nothing! Overall we had a good experience with AMF. Price was good and it was great to be able to look at the whole slab before making our selection. Would have preferred not to have a seam in the middle of the sink. Kitchen is small and I assumed there was enough quartz in one slab to avoid seams. I've used them in the past and it went ok. Countertops are nice and they do a decent install, not great. Try using them again and the after having them scheduled a month in advance they email me saying the can't to the job for another 2 weeks. Had to rush and find another supplier to meet a closing deadline. They then did the exact same thing to another person I know. Not worth using if your want expect quality service. We cannot say enough about this company. An error was made by the installer when they came to install our granite counter top and it was very costly to AMF. The owner of the company called me personally and worked everything out. My wife and I were afraid of what the outcome was going to be because clearly having to redo a counter top they had to have lost money on our job. They were unprofessional, cracked my kitchen cabinets, did not say a thing. When I brought it to their attention, they initially ignored the email and then with persistent inquiry, they said that my cabinets cracked bc it was old and couldn't support the granite. It's a bunch of bs but even if that was true, their contract stated that they would've informed me to add support to my cabinets prior to installing the granite. They refused to accept responsibility and did not apologize and sent us a very unprofessional email I attached below. read more

Zero stars. Installers cut quartz counters inside the house, releasing hazardous crystalline silica dust. Installers wore no type of mask, endangering their own health as well, and violating OSHA laws. Entire house coated top to bottom in this hazardous dust. Had to vacate house for three days and hire an industrial cleaning service at $5,000 to even be able to return home. In addition, work is shoddy, ruined backsplash, dishwasher door won't shut, corners around sink are horrible. Will have to hire carpenter to make repairs. Company is nasty and rude when trying to remedy the situation - either waive remaining charge or pay cleaning fee. And not only rude, but threaten retaliation. I contracted AMF Brothers for the granite for the bar in our basement. I will say the granite looks good, the experience working with the company has been horrendous. After first contracting with them, I got a call a couple days later insisting that we move up the date for measurements by 3 weeks, but we hadn't even installed the cabinets which I explained. I get a call again the next day and again the day after each time insisting that we let them come measure. When it was finally time to come measure the contractor threw a hissy fit at my wife for telling him he couldn't wear his boots on our new carpet. When the installers came they had the same issue with the boots and didn't have booties to wear. They finally installed the countertop, and again it looks good, but when leaving one of the contractors kept banging his tape measure against the hallway wall and damaged it in two spots. The team was apologetic, but couldn't do anything to fix it. They said to call the office. I did and was asked to send in a picture which I did. I got a response that they were very sorry, but wouldn't do anything to fix the wall. This was not by the installation area and was not from transporting the granite, it was from the negligence of the contractor not paying attention while on the phone. This whole process with the company has been a mess and I would not recommend working with them again. read more
