We love this bowling alley! The staff is always friendly and we always have a great time when we're there!

I am a regular league bowler here and I'm sorry but every week there's some issue. My biggest complaint is about the orange lights. They are not bright enough for reading and writing and I leave with a headache. Now they are putting them in the bathrooms and I do not think they are bright enough for safety. You can't see if there's anything on the toilet seat, or if there might be a puddle on the floor. In the interest of public safety, please put in bright, white lights. Thanks. read more

I went here for a work event and I have to say the prices for food were outrageous. Not only that but a pitcher of beer was 18$. The bowling itself was really cheap and so were shoes. Shoes are a little over 5$ with tax. The music in the place was really good and the volume was decent but it was hard to hear people talking to you at times. If you are looking for something fun to do for work or even with friends and family I'd recommend this place but I would definitely eat before coming here or you'll be broke before you leave. They have arcade games there as well for kids and adults but the area for games was small so don't show up expecting there to be a full on arcade. Set up a group reservation online, I was so excited that I didn't realize the date I requested was a day off on the contract. The manager was very nice and accommodating and took my group without expecting us. Even when our time ran up he let us finish our game. We enjoy bowling, and with the Summer pass and Kids bowl free, we thought we would give these lanes a chance. The lanes are old and run down - but they do bowl well. We had a lot of problems with re-sets and we did have to get management to come more then 3 times to give us a hand. That was a bummer :( Food was good. Chicken was tasty. My daughter loved the chicken wrap. Fries were good. Pretzels were HORRIBLE! I had the Cinnamon and my son had the salted pretzels, both of didn't enjoy them. Bathroom was very clean but there seemed to be a lingering odor, so I would suggest that get looked at. We will be back because they are the closest to us, but for no other reason than that. read more

Dragged a buddy of mine along, and our combined scores were still less my previous miracle. Yeah, I suck. Not sure what happened last time. But I suppose I should mention the bowling alley. Meh. After complaining about the lack of balls with big enough holes at AMF Christown, I couldn't even find one here and had to use a heavier ball than I'm used to. My buddy suggested I might be a pussy and should be using a heavier ball to begin with, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that premise. "Just throwing it out there," he said. Jerk. Just kidding - you know I love ya, dude. Service was so-so, lanes were ok, seats were uncomfortable, prices were average. Crappy video game selection. Horrible food. I know, I know - it's a bowling alley, what do I expect? But my buddy got the nachos, which was basically a bowl of stale Tostitos and two tiny little cups of lukewarm melted Velveeta-type cheese, not even enough for half the chips. It's an okay place, but the lack of a decent ball selection is a pretty big strike in my book. No pun intended. Seriously, I tried to come up with a different word, but that's all I got. read more

I was there this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday for a Youth Tournament for my son. Our "home bowling alley" is the Brunswick Zone on Southern and Dobson. This was my first time to this particular alley. This was the worst bowling alley I have ever been to in my entire 31 years of living. The location is hidden back behind some office buildings. The building is plain, late 60's decor. The interior, from what I was told, had not been updated in over a decade at least. The newest renovation was a strip of fluorescent carpeting and some fluorescent paint on the walls. (for neon bowling I presume) There is no real seating for the bowlers. There are tables and chairs randomly placed through out the building. Each table only gets 4 chairs, so if someone else steals a chair or you have more than 4 bowlers, someone is going to have to stand. On a rack, in the corner, in the back, there are about 20 alley owned balls, so good luck getting one in the right weight. The bathrooms are tiny and dilapidated. Whole chunks missing out of several spots in the tile. The handicapped stall has a baby changing station that does not fold up. It stays wide open, so you can't even get in there. The flusher in that stall also gushes when you flush, so you might want to flush with your foot. There are only about 20 lanes, and they are occupied by what seems like permanent residents, over the age of 80. They didn't even want to leave for the alley-sponsored tournament. The food was just thrown together. Nachos were a plate full of chips, and a tiny cup of cheese sauce. 2 small sodas ran me over $6. The overpriced snack bar didn't even accept credit/atm cards because their phone line was down. The lanes were so slick and greasy, they practically had puddles of oil in them. Lane 4 occasionally goes completely dark while people are bowling. They do NOT have a pro shop. Their arcade games were few, and broken. I don't think they serve alcohol.I did not see a bar. I would never, ever come to this bowling alley again by choice. Even the AMF on Main that closed last year was better than this one. They should have closed this one instead. If you're looking for a place to bowl, I would suggest you go anywhere but here. read more

We are on a league here and we love it. Good times good people good bowling. Unfortunately the lanes break down occasionally but you'll have that.That's not the problem. They make their money on bar and food from the prices they charge but the food and drinks don't live up to it. They have kids working in the bar that can neither mix nor serve. The service is sloooow and the drinks are amateur. The garnishes are old and dry. Snack bar is over priced and below average. It's ok for league bowling with friends, but I go elsewhere for a just plain bowling fun. read more

AMF Mesa Lanes is very similar in fashion to all of the AMF bowling lanes around the country that I have been to. There are a couple of distinct reasons to why I give a lower rating. The overall service was okay because it seemed to take longer than usual to get us going to bowling. There were not too many people that night. Lastly, they took away our pitchers of beer at least 30 minutes before close. I am not sure if this is protocol, but we had a designated driver and our drunk friends could have finished the beer. read more

See, when I go to a bowling alley I expect loud and stinky and run down. This location though had THE BEST SERVICE I have ever had at a bowling alley. Likely the best service I have had anywhere in my life. The man helping was kind, funny, accommodating, fast, ect. I was really impressed. The food was decent. Weirdest place. Uncrowded. Rundown. But nice staff....except the bar tender was SUPER slow. IT WAS LIKE IT WAS GOOD...but always had a but to counter why it was nice. I mean if you are looking for softball championships on the main two screens while late night weekend bowling with the music videos only able to be played on the outside screens this is your place. Love bowling! And it's such a universal thing to do with friends and out-of-town guests who want to be active (but not too much). Thankfully these lanes opened earlier than posted here in Yelp (12 noon, not 4pm as shown). When we arrived, not too many had discovered the change so we could have gotten right in, but the staffer walked away from the desk without comment as we stood there! He did eventually return... We needed to change shoes sizes (kids never remember what size they wear) but couldn't find help to exchange shoes. Once I went looking behind the counter myself, someone showed up pretty quickly. Guess they weren't prepared for Spring Break. Only 2 employees is what I was told! After that, we started our game right away and bowled about five frames before they started stacking the bowlers on our side of the alley. Don't understand why they don't use just odd numbered lanes until the place gets really busy. Thankfully the other bowlers by us were very polite. Daytime game/shoe rentals aren't too bad, but BYO drinks or water bottles because their prices are ridiculous. $3.99 plus tax for a Gatorade! For that price I could buy at least four at the grocery store! But they have you over the barrel if you are not prepared. My friends and I have recently changed where we going bowling on Tuesday nights and started coming to AMF. Let me begin by saying from the moment you enter this establishment you are greeted with a warm and welcoming smile by all staff. The service at the front counter is top notch and they are very welcoming to help you in any way you need. But the great service doesn't stop there. Along with our ritual of Tuesday night bowling we also like to enjoy some adult beverages. Marisa Touchette, the bartender, always greets us with a smile and goes above and beyond with customer service. Marisa makes our experience at AMF very enjoyable and keeps us coming back. read more

OMG I got the summer pass. The very first time I was there I was greeted with the most friendly smile and her name was desserette. She saw me having troubles with enterenting the names and so she was so sweet she out everything down and entered all three of our names in the system, to tie it off with in 5 frames she brought us over a pitcher of water and asked if everything was going smoothly. We could ask for any better and over the top customer service. I will definitely come to this bowling after the way we were treated. If I could give zero stars I would. Paid $60 to play one game with my family of 6 and they couldn't keep our lane functioning. It kept saying we had reached our prepaid limit (which was one full game) in frame 6 and then again for my 3rd throw in frame 10 which would have won me the game. The pins kept getting stuck and we had to go back multiple times for the same problem before they fixed it. Had naked people on the screens for the music video and we had 3 small children. We didn't go late at night for cosmic bowling, it was 7:30! Finally complained to the manager and her response was "I'm sorry, I've only been here a week." Didn't even offer a voucher for next time. Absolutely no customer service and not family friendly and we will NEVER be back! read more

Be aware! Do NOT use any type of debit or credit card at this place. The young lady came over to take our order and I paid with a debit card; when she returned she tried to give me someone else card. I explained that it wasn't my card. As a result, she charged my order to someone else's order and vice versa. The manager fixed that issue. However, I then place another order which I decided to pay cash because of the screw up, so I handed the male waiter a $20 bill, he then brings out the order but doesn't have my change. I look at the original bill and they charged the second order to the card, even though I gave him a $20 bill. So after about a hour and a half, we stop to ask the manager about my change. The manager told us that he reviewed the cameras and did not see me give the waiter $20 and decided to take it off my bill. I will NEVER go to this location again!! read more

When we arrived and there was quite a line and only one cashier. We bowl with our elderly father and I asked them to turn off the fowl line because he loses his balance and slips after he had thrown the ball. They refused staying it was a safety protocol. We have bowled at other alleys who would do that for us. Ok whatever. It was really warm in there. The air felt like it was barely on. It was very dirty. The people 2 lanes over had to be moved because their lane broke twice. My ball had divets in it that would cause it to suddenly curve in a different direction. I would not go back. read more

I am only giving this place 1 star because I have to rate it something and they were actually open, which is more than I can say for the bowling alley at Amazing Jake's up the road. I was unimpressed from the start when we discovered that we would pay the same amount for my 3 yr old nephew as we were paying for the adults. What kind of "family" establishment does not offer child rates? The service here is horrible, the staff is rude and act like you are putting them out if you ask for anything. We had one lane of all kids so we asked to have the bumpers put up and to have a ball ramp brought over for the little kids; by the guy's reaction you would have thought that I asked him to babysit the five kids. Due to his reaction, when my nephew's ball got stuck a foot up the gutter, I just reached up and grabbed it. Then the guy shows up out of nowhere shaking his finger at me, saying "anything beyond the foul line is mine." When my fiancé confronted him about treating me like a child, he claimed he was just joking. Also, the concessions are expensive, and this is the only bowling alley that I have ever been to that doesn't offer soda by the pitcher. The chili cheese fries were good, but not good enough to make up for the other short comings here. Next time I'll take my family of nine and my $200 to another bowling alley, this place will never receive my business again. read more

Pretty expensive bowling alley, looks nice on the outside but not so great in the inside. Food is very expensive, drinks are too, asked for a large drink then said nvm and asked for a medium while ordering but I got challenged by the waiter and she kept it as a large. I also tried getting her attention multiple times and she ignored me, and ontop of that she took almost an hour to give me my credit card back. Visited AMF on a lazy Friday afternoon when it was way too hot to do anything outside. The girl at the counter was friendly and knowledgeable, was quick to tell us the best deals, give us our shoes, and show us to our lane. My husband and I played for two hours for less than $20, which got us about 4-5 games. There happened to be cosmic bowling going on at the time which added another layer of fun, but the Disney pop music and corresponding music videos on repeat was pretty brutal. read more

I come here often and the service is so good I even booked my son's upcoming surprise party here. It is family friendly and the food is great. The staff is great, in particular the Latin manager always has a smile on his face and is ready to assist my family with any questions we may have. What can I say? Finally...good customer service! This place gets it, we weren't expecting anything free or special treatment just some good old fashion good customer service. The manager on duty was fantastic, fun, friendly and he was able to accommodate my entire family and he threw in some popcorn! They have a special for about $13 you get all you can bowl and all you can eat pizza. It sucks because you can only get one slice at a time and you have to walk up to the food area to get it. So if you want to bowl and eat at the same time, prob wont happen. If you order off the menu however they will bring it to your lane. They have good alcoholic drink specials. One suggestion would be having a few more employees back in the food area to help them out. Those girls were running around flustered and overwhelmed with the bulk of people trying to get food. But overall a good deal and a great place for families. The place is older, don't expect a newly renovated place. read more

Tried these lanes out last week for the first time. We were very disappointed. The approaches were very dirty, as were the lanes. Our balls came back after every frame filthy. We had to switch lanes because the ball return was malfunctioning, and I ended up with three nasty gouges in my ball. I think that $13.24 is FAR too much to pay for an adult and a small child to bowl one game; however, my little one was excited so I paid the price. Then, we had repeated trouble with the ball return and our lane (number 27) obviously had some serious flaws or warping. We've used the "granny bowler" for my toddler before and it worked great and he got to hit a few pins. This time however, once the ball got 3/4 down the lane it would suddenly turn and he never got to hit any. There was clear disappointment on his face. I've been visiting different AMF alleys since I was very young and they have seriously let things go. The prices are too high, the place feels dirty, the equipment frequently malfunctions, AND one of the lanes is obviously warped. It may be a VERY long time before we consider bowling at AMF again. So sad, I used to have such a good time at these lanes. :( read more

Came to bowl with some friends tonight and they helped clearly explain the the cost breakdown for us. When our lane timed out unexpectedly, they quickly repaired the issue and gave us another round of bowling for the trouble. Will be back! read more

While the food was reasonably priced and my two grandchildren enjoyed bowling, it was not worth the price. We waited over an hour for our food. Burgers were dry and hard. Grilled cheese was more bread and very little cheese. $70.00 for 5 people to play and then $56.00 for food. read more

I don't know what that guy was going on about, but this alley was terrible... The service was very poor, I didn't even attempt their food (even though the staff had been hiding in the back my whole 2 hour game time), and then they decided to shut our lane down for no reason. I enjoy my time with most AMF alleys, but this one should be closed down (and I can make that happen). read more
