So here's the thing: We were not drawn to the restaurant by the strip mall appearance. It may sound silly, but the vibes from the outside always caused us to look beyond Amici for our dining choice, but boy were we wrong to do so. I enjoy the atmosphere here, and I would classify this as a good "first-date" spot. It is casual-ish but offers enough privacy for good conversation. The staff is well-equipped to do their job without hovering, and they really are rather attentive. The wine list is weaker than you'd expect and the food really can't be considered top rate unless you're unfamiliar with fine dining. That leaves the restaurant occupying an odd space, which is neither fine dining nor traditional casual dining. And, what says first date better than odd, right? read more

Went here on Saturday night. There was plenty of tables open and we were seated right away. I ordered a beer, but unfortunately it was bottled as Amici's doesn't have beer on tap. Calamari appetizer was very good with marinara and aioli and it came to the table very quickly. Salad was served right about the time we were done with the appetizer. The salad wasn't huge but the vegetables were very fresh and it was great. The pasta entrees were also very good. The pasta was cooked just right and the sauces were flavorful. The young waiter with a beard was extremely polite and was prompt and efficient. Prices are borderline $$$ but it was an enjoyable meal. read more

We stopped here today on our way through Connecticut and we're very impressed. Our meals were delicious and nicely presented. The Italian veal parm and lasagna were very tasty. Meals came with fresh crisp salad or delicious soup and soft warm bread and butter. The server was very attentive and friendly with a great sense of humor, teasing my husband for not wanting cheese lol. Sorry that I didn't get her name, she was great! We ordered take out from the Avon location last night. The food was decent enough, but nothing special for the price ($48 for 1 Chicken Parm & 1 Penne Amici dinner). I found it particularly annoying that the bread they included was 4 end pieces wrapped in plastic wrap. Not a single actual piece. Just felt like an "I don't care about quality or the customer" considering a loaf of bread is a couple of bucks and it was early in the evening so it wasn't like they were short on supply. As I said, the food was good enough, but all thing considered I'll probably try a different spot next time we crave Italian. read more

I went here for the first time with some friends for lunch. I have driven by it almost everyday for a couple of years but have never been there. It started off a little rough as there were 5 of us, all guys and they wanted to seat us in that extremely cozy looking red chair / table thing in the back. While we are comfortable in our masculinity we just couldn't sit there. It is maybe good for a couple on a first date but not really for 5 men. They were happy to seat us elsewhere though. We started off with calamari which is my most favorite appetizer off all time but I was rather disappointed. The others thought it was fine but to me it tasted like it was fried in tired old grease. Since I hate a heavy meal for lunch I had one of the $6.00 lunch specials which is hard to beat anywhere. While not a huge portion it is was very good and you would pay the same for a horrible meal at McDonald's. The others had regular entrees and were happy with them. The atmosphere was nicer than average and the service was OK but not over the top. Based on my meal (good meal, not good calamari) it may be hard to give it 3 stars but everyone else was happy with their meals so I am giving it 3. If I could rate no stars or negative stars I absolutely would! Outrageously terrible customer service! I would not recommend this place. I would rate the food, but I've say here for more than 25 minutes and no one has bothered to take my order! I must have my cloaking shield on while sitting at the 8 chairs bar - mind you there are only 4 other people here. I'd hate to experience the pathetic customer service on a night that was actually busy! The bartender is no where to be found, I think she might actually be waiting on tables in the dining area and has no interest in the bar. Take your money and craving for Italian food someplace else!! WOW!! After one hour, my dinner salad arrived. Wonder how much longer until my actual meal arrives? Disclaimer: I have only been to Amici's for lunch. But that's because their lunch specials are rightfully acclaimed in the area. For a very affordable price, you get a high-quality, sit-down lunch in a very nice environment. The food isn't five stars, but it's consistently good...I'd compare it to what Bertucci's would like to be. I've found the service to be fine, too. I am between A-ok and Yay I'm a fan. The apps were amazing, but once the main course was served, half the table was in love and other half was not impressed. My portion was small. Today my mother and I decided to try Amici's for the first time while we were shopping in Canton. We had driven by it a thousand times and curious, I looked it up on yelp. The reviews were good so we figured we'd give it a go. When you first step in the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and classy. The ambiance is elegant but still laid back, and the decor is warm but stylish. We went around 1:30 pm, and the place was practically empty. We were seated as soon as we stepped in at a clean and comfortable booth. Our waiter, Zephan, got our drink orderes promptly and gave very good suggestions when we were unsure what to order. I ended up ordering a ceasar salad with grilled chicken, and my mother ordered a chicken panini, with fries, per Zeph's suggestion. We shared fried mozzarella as an appetizer. The mozzarella came out quickly and was delicious. Fresh mozzarella, crisp, flavorful batter and overall an very good appetizer. Our plates were taken away as soon as we were done and our main dishes came less than 15 minutes later. The panini was stuffed with juicy chicken inside a crunchy but soft roll, with crisp fries. My salad was huge and had plently of dressing, something I usually never get enough of. The chicken was abundant and juicy, with a slight tasty grill flavor. For the two lunches and the appetizer, the total was only $23.00! It was very reasonably priced, considering the classy atmosphere and the large portions of high quality food. I'm disappointed. I know Amici is capable of great food and you probably think I'm crazy going out for Italian with an onion / garlic affliction but I got the Tuna steak. So I couldn't have the wasabi soy sauce because it's contaminated with garlic but you couldn't do anything interesting to it at all? I welcomed anything non-allium. Peppercorn encrusted? I had been here many years ago and had a very good experience, just never remembered to go back when I was in town....Great service, cozy atmosphere (we sat in a booth at the bar), very good size portions of food and the taste of each of our dishes was delicious. We have many Itialian restaurants around this area. Unfortunatly, Amici's isn't one of the better ones. I had stopped in for dinner with my family one evening. The waitress was confused, the meal wasn't special, the environment was very noisy. My table had a hard time carrying on a conversation. The place is very loud. Not a second time for me. You should really think twice before spending your money there. First the food is mediocre at best. Some dishes are just void of taste. But more importantly they are not your friend in any way. I ordered some extra sauce for a dish and they charge for sauce. That's right they actually charged $3 for a half of ladel of sauce. Trust me it's not the $3 but the fact that they are proud of it. Because they're arrogant and feel that because they are in Avon and customers will simply pay it. I completely understand if ingredients cost more but sauce ? When I inquired about it the manager basically told me to go screw myself and was arrogant. I explained that during these hard times we are trying to support local restaurants but it fell on deaf ears. So don't give in to this arrogance and very mediocre food. I ate at Amici on a Monday night and ordered the chicken Christina -- it was so tough I couldn't cut it with a knife. I have no idea what one has to do to a chicken to make it that tough, but I literally couldn't chew it. The rest of the dish, pasta and some vegetables, was nothing special and a little greasy. Another diner at my table found the ravioli special too salty. Those who ordered traditional Italian dishes, like eggplant or penne, fared better. I've been here a handful of times and the experience is very consistent. The one time that I ordered an app that just didn't seem right, they took care of it. The staff is generally pleasant and welcoming, and try to make your visit peasant. The food is fairly good (although I personally prefer chicken cutlets to be much thinner for the dishes they serve them in), and the prices are basically in line with what I would expect from a restaurant like this one. In the winter, they run the heat a couple of degrees warmer than I would prefer. Bar drinks are a touch pricey (IMHO). Parking can be tricky if it's busy. I've been to both locations and definitely prefer the Avon one for atmosphere. read more

Went here last minute for Mother's Day. (I had wanted to go for months, since my birthday, after seeing their signature drinks) I took my mom without reaervations and figured at 5pm on Mother's Day, there was no way we were getting into any restaurant. They would all be packed. But when we arrived, we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff that seated us immediately, a waitress and bartender that made us full line we were right at home, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was out of this world, and my mom and I looked at each other and promised we would be using any excuse we could to come back from then on. Everything was fresh and hot, cooked to perfection, served with care. Even the presentation made it almost too food to eat- almost. I will definitely be a life-long customer of Amici's, and I recommend it constantly to everyone. You won't be disappointed! read more

Have been coming here for years and absolutely love Amici! It's my daughter's favorite restaurant (she's 12) - we came in recently to celebrate her birthday. We were offered the dessert menu but said we were heading home for her birthday cake. They surprised my daughter with a delicious cannoli with a birthday candle in it. We just thought that was a very sweet gesture! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh salads, good wine, and atmosphere. Very reasonably priced, especially their lunch specials.
