Food is excellent as well as the service. Fast, friendly and good value. It's hard to find restaurants that prepare food Italian food.

Amici's is right around the corner from our house and I have ordered from there a couple of times. It is one of the few places where I can find a thin-crust pizza, more like the NY style I grew up with. The fatal flaw to the pizza is the cheese that they use. I can't describe what is wrong with it, but it just isn't right. Twice I had a Chicken Marsala sub here and it was excellent. It was messy, but very tasty. read more

This place would get a lot higher rating if it wasn't for the service. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. I have given this place a shot 3 times now (dining in), and if it wasn't for the dine in only coupon i had I would have probably left it at 2. I will say i had the same waitress all 3 times but I am pretty sure she is the only there so be prepared! We waited 30 MINUTES before our order was taken, and trust me it was not a busy night (unless you count 4 tables busy). The waitress kept blaming the poor young girl she was training, and embarrassing her. I would have maybe let it slide due to the "training" fact if it wasn't for the previous 2 times i had given the place a shot and had the same aggrevating experience. Here are a few examples of the experiences I have had: *she recleaned all the tables before acknowledging my presence (it was only my table and one other that were there so wasn't like there was a need to turn over the tables, and not to mention the tables were already clear she was RECLEANING them) *I still cannot get over how she treated that poor girl, this place's only saving grace would be if she did not get discouraged and quit and step it up as a waitress compared to her "trainer" *another table that was there sat down, and waited the standard 20-30 minutes before even getting their drinks, politely said "we are ready to order" she looked at them and waited another 10 minutes before actually taking it. *she over charged us! it was only a few bucks and wasn't worth the extended wait so we just left it, but double check your check! Just a shame, because this place has the potential to be a nice night out for a couple for a decent price...if you decide to try it out anyways, tell the babysitter you will be awhile! read more

Love the food. Have always had take-out or catering. Last night my daughter and I decided to eat in. Food was fabulous. I had Caesar salad with chicken and my daughter the Chicken, brocolli and penne. Delicious!! Down side was the server. No eye contact. Never checked to see how our food was or how we were doing. After waiting a bit when we were done with dinner I had to get up and ask her to give us our check. Its not that it was busy. She had 3 tables in total and wasn't paying attention to any of the customers. The table next to us got the wrong order, she never knew because she didn't ask how things were. SALT Everthing is heavy with salt. Too bad because the food looks good. This is my second take out from there and the first time I tasted the meatballs & sauce and I thought it was salty but maybe it was just a bad batch. I returned 2 weeks later and got meatballs again & haddock marinara and it all tastes like a box of Salt! read more

I found them on Restaurant.com. I think they have a good take-out business, but the coupon was for dine-in only. What Amici lacks in ambiance it makes up for in taste. If you're looking for something casual & reasonably priced, this is the place to go for Italian. You'll find the standard Italian fare here. The service was great & the food exceeded expectations! We had the eggplant rollatini appetitizer, which could've been a meal by itself! I had the tortellini piselli. At a mere $12.95, the portion was huge & everything about the dish was phenomenal. I've eaten tortellini at really nice restaurants in the North End which couldn't compete w/ Amici's pasta! While I didn't have one, the salads at the tables near us looked so yummy! I decided to order catering for Mother's Day to make it easier. Never had food from Amici's and it was all delicious. I was nervous the food would dry out after reheating but it was all moist and tasty. We had meatballs, sausage cacciatore, chicken parm and ziti. Everyone also had leftovers, there was so much food! Visited this place a few different times. I returned there a few days ago and had the RUDEST waitress (I believe she said her name was donna) . There were girls standing around gossiping and swearing. I was seated in the back (by the restroom) with my fiance and all we could smell was cigar smoke. I was told it was the cook out back. I find that highly unhygienic and quite disgusting. We got mozzarella sticks to start which were still cold in the middle. The waitress gave us an attitude when we said something. My fiance ordered baked penne (which was burned to a crisp on top and very dry) I ordered chicken parm which was watery and mediocre. I sent back the pasta and was offered no condolences for the crap food. I would NOT recommend this restaurant for anyone its disgusting food and terrible service. These people clearly know nothing about running a restaurant. read more

Great food and endless options to choose from on the menu. The pizza and calzones are delicious but I absolutely live for the pasta dishes. The portions are huge and reasonably priced. Quick service, especially the pizza. Pizza is good, crust is not thick, not thin, in between. Sause is not sweet and not spicey. Their house special pizzas are good. The food is great. I am Italian and this is one of the few Italian places i will eat. Don't listen to the negative reviews. I have been coming here for several years and have never had bad food. I know Italian food. I am second generation and have eaten home made Italian all of my life. Can the negative reviews say the same? I don't think so. Too bad there is not ZERO STAR option. Went in there once. This is a so called Italian Restaurant that is incapable of making a proper Italian Sub. I like my Italian subs lettuce, tom, mayo toasted. Toasted does not mean burned to the ground. The sub was burned beyond belief and I ended up throwing it away and going to Center Deli next door. I used to work at pizza places and restaurants, and my bosses would have never allowed a burned sub to served to a customer. Good luck, see you....never! read more

I love this place. Stumbled onto it a few years ago and make a trip for some very good sandwiches and Italian food. Not a fancy restaurant by any stretch, but the food is great. I would tend to agree with a previous reviewer, Scott, that the service is quite slow. Not sure where these other great reviews are coming from, but I have been there 6 times over the past 6 months, and the service has been getting worse (started out 3-4 stars and then when downhill fast). The people at the front desk take their nice long time to go through customers. Even when the place is far from full, you could easily end up waiting 15-20 minutes to pick up already prepared order even if you are #2 in line. My food is just sitting there, in front of me, waiting to be paid for and picked up, but they are so understaffed that there is literally no one to ring you up ! I find myself just standing there looking at other folks waiting in line wondering where the heck are the employees. The women at the register, and those getting your order, are often rude and give you the 'look' when you ask a question (as if every question you ask is stupid). It's like they are miserable and don't want to work there. The linguini they serve is devoid of sauce even when you ask for it. The quality of the food is also lacking. The employees are in a world of their own, not paying attention. It's sad, I hear this was once a good place to eat. read more

I get the same thing every time I go here (linguine and meatballs, garlic bread, and a coke) and based on that, I am giving Amici 5 stars. I can't speak for any of their other dishes, because this is my go-to place when I am craving pasta. For $5.75 (at lunch), you get a monster bowl of linguine, with an excellent marinara sauce, and a big, fantastic meatball. (In fact, this place is in the top 3 for the best meatballs I've ever had.) The garlic bread is also excellent, and the whole meal comes to around $10 with tax ($8 without the coke, because sometimes I only want ice water) and they serve you complimentary hot rolls, which are also very nice. (The service, too, is mostly very good, and that is a big plus, of course.) There is not a whole lot of ambience (it is definitely a trattoria, rather than a ristorante) but the atmosphere is not unpleasant, either, and as long as they continue to serve those big, beautiful meatballs, I will continue to love this place! read more
