No cap it feels like we're in MX The service is just as impressive. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and makes us feel right at home from start to finish. And the food... absolutely amazing. I've been here for almost 2 years and the BEST Mexican food I have found was in Twin Falls. NO I do not want to go to Twin Falls to get Mexican food, especially w/ the price of gas now. I was searching online for a new restaurant to go to for lunch and for some reason "Garibaldis Garden City" popped up. First, Garibaldis, does not really sound like a Mexican restaurant, but after reading the reviews and checking out their website, I am thinking why not...can't be any worse than Andrades, Chapala or Barrigas. Went in around noon, not crowded, but again its gorgeous outside, and I like a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server (bartender) Michael (who is from San Diego) was great. We really didn't need any recommendations because I already had set in my head what I was going to order. We started out with the "salsa flight", 3 different salsas, 1 smokey hot sauce, 1 more chunky and a mango habanero" which all 3 were very good. I loved that there was actually some spice and heat in all 3. Okay, the Mango it grows on you, the more you eat it the better it gets. We also ordered a maggie on the rocks w/ Casa Amigos Reposado and a ranch water with the Blanco. I also ordered the Coctel Garibaldis, which is shrimp & octopus and the shrimp was nice and large and the octopus was a nice size, NEITHER was mushy, THEY BOTH tasted so fresh (enough to share). For our main, Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada....I normally do not like the refried beans here in Boise at the Mexican restaurants we have tried, but these beans tasted like HOME, LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW MADE THEM~! The chicken fajitas ...there was actually MORE CHICKEN than peppers which is a 1st...and it was huge slices and chunks. My Carne Asada, OMG, huge amount and it was so flavorful, I doubt I could have done any better. NOW, I am a tortilla snob and I make my own flour tortillas, but THEY HAD SERIOUSLY LITERALLY the best DAMN corn tortillas I have tasted in YEARS! They almost look like flour, but once you taste them, incredible. We (he) ordered the Coco Flan for dessert, I don't do dessert so I ordered the Casa Azul Anejo....met 2 women drinking Maggies, we agreed, if we are going to do calories, we are drinking them and not eating them...but in all, the SERVICE, Food, the atmosphere, was all worth it. Will we go again, YOU BET, I may even have to sneak over for a few lunches by myself it was that good. Again, thanks Michael, you were on Point!

The signage is fine but difficult to track down when it's dark. Once we arrived around 7 we noticed it wasn't very busy inside but were instantly greeted by someone. We decided on trying the chicken and rib plate, as well as share a side of the Mac salad. Each plate came with brown rice and a cup of chili with a few upgraded side options. Honorable mention that this establishment has coke products. Initial thought was how huge the portions were! We got around 3 ribs and a quarter of a chicken. What I'm happy to report on is that this food has character. The chicken was very well seasoned and cooked with just enough crispiness on the outside and juiciness on the inside. The same could be said about the ribs, great execution on the rub. Chili was also an incredible side including bacon and tasted like actual homemade chili with a great flavor profile. A lot of chicken places have been opening up in the valley and this place truly stands out. Most places are too scared to season their chicken but this place has an identity and expresses it through their chicken and BBQ which I need to highlight. Overall experience was 5/5. Ambiance was very calm and laid back, good music. The team there was friendly, approachable and personable and the food was next level compared to most places in the valley. I would return there in a heartbeat and fully plan on bringing family back with us, I highly recommend you try this place if you enjoy great BBQ.

I have had my fair share of impeccably prepared foods in my life with all the traveling that I've…read moredone and my Italian and French background. All I have to say is, I think that Boise is a very, very lucky City to have Susina as part of the community of restaurants here. This is the first time in a very long time that I have literally left a restaurant pining for more food despite my full belly! It was my birthday weekend and a friend and I decided that we were going to finally make a reservation to eat at Susina having heard so many wonderful things about it , and all of the Great experiences that others have had after dining there. We started with a bottle of St. Hilaire. It is a nice young, bright, sparkling, crisp, dry, wine from France and one of my staples! I was very happy to see it on the menu. I was dreaming about the Beef Carpaccio as I don't often get to have it here in Boise but only when I travel to Italy. They prepared it paper thin (of course), as it should be, with a preserved, Meyer lemon aioli and pickled red onions and an herb salad which really took it over the top! I usually enjoy Beef Carpaccio on a bed of arugula, but I really appreciated the herbaceousness of the salad and how absolutely fresh and deep the flavors were. The beef was perfectly cool in temperature and the pickled red onions and lemon aioli were in perfect balance with the beef and herbs. Delicious! This is definitely now one of the things on their menu that I'll be craving moving forward. My friend and I decided we were going to each get a first course, a main course, and a dessert. For the first course, we got the crab risotto. The Wild Rock crab was so perfectly fresh and sweet, and I really appreciated the roundness of the mascarpone herb oil. The risotto was of the utmost silkiness and it was perfectly cooked. This dish was also impeccable and gorgeous to look at. The second dish that we chose to share was the Potato Gnocchi. I make my own at home, but I use ricotta cheese instead to make light, little, fluffy pillows and I hadn't had a good Potato Gnocchi in a very, very long time and I absolutely love the potato kind. They were the absolute perfect size. Perfect. The truffled mushrooms were to die for. This was perfection in my opinion. Love all the shaved Parmesan on top as well. We went for it and for the main course we got the Wagyu Coulotte. Omg! This was absolutely divine. It was cooked to an absolute, perfect, medium, rare and it was so tender that it just melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection and the spring vegetables, grilled, lovingly and absolutely everything that we had was seasoned so nicely. I feel the chef understands his salt and I appreciate that deeply. Too many dishes at some restaurants go under seasoned and sometimes chefs can also over do the salt, but this was just the perfect amount. I'll be dreaming about this steak for months! Onto the Pan Roasted Halibut. It was served with herbed, brown, rice and a beurre blanc sauce with spring vegetables. So much flavor here! The brown rice was cooked just perfectly, the spring vegetables had a bit of caramelization and the beurre blanc sauce was delicate and creamy and complimented the Halibut perfectly. The fish was very nicely prepared and full of flavor and balance. Onto dessert, where we enjoyed the Bruleed cheesecake with strawberry sauce . (Sorry I cannot add the accents to Bruleed--- my phone doesn't have a French keyboard). Ha! The cheesecake was light and creamy and I loved that caramelized brulee on the top. Very special indeed. We also tried the lemon tart with toasted meringue. It was divinely acidic (of course) and the crust was buttery and had the best texture! The toasted meringue was stunning aesthetically and tasted delicious as well! Well I'm pretty sure this is one of the longest reviews I've ever written on Yelp but it was worth every top of my finger and minute of my time. Oh wait I'm not done! The chef, ambiance and wait staff are all top notch! Chef Cardoza is hitting it out of the park with his food and just made a major mark on Boise I'm so happy we have an approachable, romantic, cozy, well decorated, spotless, location to enjoy his food. Our waiter was from France and lots of fun to talk with. He was very attentive and had great timing and knowledge of the menu. Every member of the staff that we interacted with were professional, very, very friendly, and very grateful that we were there which is a huge bonus! Sometimes that's rare these days. Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and you feel like you're putting them out or something. We felt very welcomed from the minute that we walked in and appreciated as we walked out. Thank you and please don't change a thing! Perfecto! We will certainly be back again soon!
