I got the brisket sandwich and it was delicious! It had Goodwoods own bbq sauce on it, which complimented the brisket beautifully. For the side I got the potato salad and dang it was loaded with hard boiled eggs, and very delicious! My server was friendly and very attentive. I got a slice of the Texas sheet cake to go, and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. If I lived local this would be a new spot for me to frequent. If I am ever back in Boise again, I will certainly come back.

Service is very good. The ambiance for a barbecue place is very nice. The food is decent, but certainly isn't Texas or KC barbecue. We ordered burnt ends 3.5/5, Caesar salad 5/5, corn bread 3/5, turkey breast 4/5, mom's potato salad 3.5/5, beans 4/5, baked potato 4/5, and berry cobbler 4.5/5. Nice they gave us the cobbler for my birthday.

Saturday, early lunch at Goodwood barbecue for the first time. It smelled so good before I walked in with all the smells of barbecue. The ambience is that of a chain restaurant with a warmth to the decor and it appears very clean. I ordered a tri-tip salad with their bbq ranch dressing for the menu price of $15.95. I expected this to be a ginormous salad but sadly it arrived in a large soup bowl. This medium salad was very modest, very demure, and very basic. It had four modest slices of tri-tip atop the salad. A tiny cornbread muffin and butter was on the side. I was starving so I dug in and ate the whole salad. It was very tasty and very satisfying. It was the perfect amount for one person. Very, very expensive to eat out nowadays Goodwood just reminded me of that. Service was very attentive, and our food came out quickly . I'd have to rate the salad just four stars out of five. I wouldn't rate the salad down for the value because this is just the going rate of food and downsizing that most restaurants have to do to stay afloat. I really can't attest to the quality of their barbecue since I only had a salad. I can say, though that the four small pieces of tri-tip on the salad were just OK.

Great food and fast, friendly service. Food was hot and delicious! We had pulled pork that was smoked and really tender. The bbq sauce does have a kick to it. I suggest getting the sauce on the side just incase its too spicy for you.

Nice place with plenty of tables. The smell of BBQ hit me as I walked in. They have cocktails and beer on tap. The décor is nice. I ordered the open face burnt end brisket samminch. It was okay, but wasn't very warm. This is a knife and fork meal, since the bread isn't toasted. Not a big serving of meat, but it was adequate. The steak fries were decent but not hot. I thought the squeeze was going to do her own rating so I didn't take a picture of her Cobb salad. Compared to about every other eatery we've been to that has main salads for around $15, this looked like a side salad. Peighton did a fine job as our server. We we had 9 people at the table, so they added a 22% tip on the bill. My problem is, I tipped 22% to the Governor since they figure the tip after taxes. So I actually tipped 23.5% on our meal. I know they all do this, but it should stop. Just an average meal.

Goodwood Barbecue was one of the first restaurants I had in Meridian and it was a great experience! Parking was not an issue as it's situated in a large plaza, but it can get busy during peak hours. The service here is on top of their game. All of the staff were courteous, quick and friendly. We ordered the lunch special combo platter with Smoked Chicken and Pulled Pork as well as the Burnt Ends Brisket with Mike's Baked Mac & Cheese. Our personal favorite was the Burnt Ends Brisket -- so flavorful and tender! We also loved the barbecue sauce itself here. It has a nice citrus undertone that not many barbecue places I've previously had do. Absolutely recommend this place if you're in the area!

Went with family and had a great experience. Wasn't too busy around noon and got seated immediately, host at front was nice. Food took about 15-20 minutes to be served and we shared 4 sandwiches - The Pit and press, the club, honey stung chicken sandwich, and barbecue brisket sandwiches (all delicious). Server was very nice and efficient. Bathrooms were clean and the music wasn't loud. Host opened the door for us on the way out. Great experience!

Brisket was juicy, tender, and the fries were huge. I like the bbq sauce, it was really delicious. Not much else to say. Not too much smoke flavor on the brisket, so I think that could be better, but overall for the amount of food you get, it's reasonably fair priced.

My daughter was hungry and decided to get BBQ. We were warmly greeted. We opted for takeout. We ordered their onion rings, the salmon entree, and a stack of beef ribs. The order took about 20 minutes to complete. The onion rings were humongous. They were nicely seasoned and crispy, but a little too greasy for our liking. The salmon entree with the pilaf rice was delicious. The beef ribs were also delicious. Overall, we were pleased, content, and our full bellies!

All I have to say is, I think that Boise is a very, very lucky City to have Susina as part of the community of restaurants here. This is the first time in a very long time that I have literally left a restaurant pining for more food despite my full belly! It was my birthday weekend and a friend and I decided that we were going to finally make a reservation to eat at Susina having heard so many wonderful things about it , and all of the Great experiences that others have had after dining there. We started with a bottle of St. Hilaire. It is a nice young, bright, sparkling, crisp, dry, wine from France and one of my staples! I was very happy to see it on the menu. I was dreaming about the Beef Carpaccio as I don't often get to have it here in Boise but only when I travel to Italy. They prepared it paper thin (of course), as it should be, with a preserved, Meyer lemon aioli and pickled red onions and an herb salad which really took it over the top! I usually enjoy Beef Carpaccio on a bed of arugula, but I really appreciated the herbaceousness of the salad and how absolutely fresh and deep the flavors were. The beef was perfectly cool in temperature and the pickled red onions and lemon aioli were in perfect balance with the beef and herbs. Delicious! This is definitely now one of the things on their menu that I'll be craving moving forward. My friend and I decided we were going to each get a first course, a main course, and a dessert. For the first course, we got the crab risotto. The Wild Rock crab was so perfectly fresh and sweet, and I really appreciated the roundness of the mascarpone herb oil. The risotto was of the utmost silkiness and it was perfectly cooked. This dish was also impeccable and gorgeous to look at. The second dish that we chose to share was the Potato Gnocchi. I make my own at home, but I use ricotta cheese instead to make light, little, fluffy pillows and I hadn't had a good Potato Gnocchi in a very, very long time and I absolutely love the potato kind. They were the absolute perfect size. Perfect. The truffled mushrooms were to die for. This was perfection in my opinion. Love all the shaved Parmesan on top as well. We went for it and for the main course we got the Wagyu Coulotte. Omg! This was absolutely divine. It was cooked to an absolute, perfect, medium, rare and it was so tender that it just melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection and the spring vegetables, grilled, lovingly and absolutely everything that we had was seasoned so nicely. I feel the chef understands his salt and I appreciate that deeply. Too many dishes at some restaurants go under seasoned and sometimes chefs can also over do the salt, but this was just the perfect amount. I'll be dreaming about this steak for months! Onto the Pan Roasted Halibut. It was served with herbed, brown, rice and a beurre blanc sauce with spring vegetables. So much flavor here! The brown rice was cooked just perfectly, the spring vegetables had a bit of caramelization and the beurre blanc sauce was delicate and creamy and complimented the Halibut perfectly. The fish was very nicely prepared and full of flavor and balance. Onto dessert, where we enjoyed the Bruleed cheesecake with strawberry sauce . (Sorry I cannot add the accents to Bruleed--- my phone doesn't have a French keyboard). Ha! The cheesecake was light and creamy and I loved that caramelized brulee on the top. Very special indeed. We also tried the lemon tart with toasted meringue. It was divinely acidic (of course) and the crust was buttery and had the best texture! The toasted meringue was stunning aesthetically and tasted delicious as well! Well I'm pretty sure this is one of the longest reviews I've ever written on Yelp but it was worth every top of my finger and minute of my time. Oh wait I'm not done! The chef, ambiance and wait staff are all top notch! Chef Cardoza is hitting it out of the park with his food and just made a major mark on Boise I'm so happy we have an approachable, romantic, cozy, well decorated, spotless, location to enjoy his food. Our waiter was from France and lots of fun to talk with. He was very attentive and had great timing and knowledge of the menu. Every member of the staff that we interacted with were professional, very, very friendly, and very grateful that we were there which is a huge bonus! Sometimes that's rare these days. Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and you feel like you're putting them out or something. We felt very welcomed from the minute that we walked in and appreciated as we walked out. Thank you and please don't change a thing! Perfecto! We will certainly be back again soon!

The reason we went back the second time was because we remembered how good the food was and how nearby it was too. The second time the food was still really good, but the service was HORRENDOUS. Brittney was such a ***** to me and my parents, my mom especially. My mom was complimenting her and something about the food, and she straight up just walked away in the middle of my mom still talking. And no it wasn't busy. It was towards the end of the night, there was maybe 2-3 other customers there. She acted like we were bothering her the whole time. Then once she'd leave us would just stand up at the bar flirting with the other guy working there and just ignore anyone else. Then on top of all of that, my dad tells me she added $10 onto her tip! FRAUD!!! I've attached photos as evidence. My dad still tipped her even though she was so rude and disrespectful. But apparently that wasn't enough for her and added $10 onto the total. I cannot believe that. And my dad tells me it was difficult to get his $10 back after calling and talking to the manager. He didn't get the name of the manager but he said that they were just making excuses and saying oh but she's our best server. Obviously not! Saying things like oh she must've just been really busy. Again, we were there when it was dead and about to close soon, no it was not busy. It's almost as if this business does this type of thing often because there was no alarm from the manager, then finally after much deliberation decided to send back the $10. Absolutely ridiculous. No : "I'm so sorry here's a free meal on us", or atleast a "here's a coupon or gift card for next time you come in", nothing. This is the type of thing that gets people closed down. We should report to the BBB. This is insane. And to not be offered anything to make it right is what really gets me. Like do they not want us to ever come back??? Not to mention tell everyone we know, etc. Yikes! And this is what we get for wanting to support local businesses instead of going to the big chains. What a bummer.
