Great barbecue! Ordered online and our meal was ready in 20 minutes. Everything was delicious. We had Sausage, Pulled Pork & Brisket. We had a garden salad, Cole slaw, corn bread and creamed corn. We really enjoyed it. My only regret was not getting extra barbecue sauces to try them out. read more

I got the brisket sandwich and it was delicious! It had Goodwoods own bbq sauce on it, which complimented the brisket beautifully. For the side I got the potato salad and dang it was loaded with hard boiled eggs, and very delicious! My server was friendly and very attentive. I got a slice of the Texas sheet cake to go, and it didn't disappoint. Well visiting Boise, we have visited two locations for this chain. Both have had great staff in the food is delicious. I've tried their pulled pork sandwich and I've also tried their brisket. I just found some new favorite at Goodwood, which is an institution that is 26 years old. Their smoked fried chicken sandwich is amazing, it's smoked then batter fried that is crunchy on the outside and tender and smoky inside. Saturday, early lunch at Goodwood barbecue for the first time. It smelled so good before I walked in with all the smells of barbecue. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is that of a chain restaurant with a warmth to the decor and it appears very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a tri-tip salad with their bbq ranch dressing for the menu price of $15.95. I expected this to be a ginormous salad but sadly it arrived in a large soup bowl. This medium salad was very modest, very demure, and very basic. It had four modest slices of tri-tip atop the salad. A tiny cornbread muffin and butter was on the side. I was starving so I dug in and ate the whole salad. It was very tasty and very satisfying. It was the perfect amount for one person. Very, very expensive to eat out nowadays Goodwood just reminded me of that. Service was very attentive, and our food came out quickly . I'd have to rate the salad just four stars out of five. I wouldn't rate the salad down for the value because this is just the going rate of food and downsizing that most restaurants have to do to stay afloat. Nice place with plenty of tables. The smell of BBQ hit me as I walked in. They have cocktails and beer on tap. The décor is nice. I ordered the open face burnt end brisket samminch. It was okay, but wasn't very warm. This is a knife and fork meal, since the bread isn't toasted. Not a big serving of meat, but it was adequate. The steak fries were decent but not hot. I thought the squeeze was going to do her own rating so I didn't take a picture of her Cobb salad. Compared to about every other eatery we've been to that has main salads for around $15, this looked like a side salad. Peighton did a fine job as our server. We we had 9 people at the table, so they added a 22% tip on the bill. My problem is, I tipped 22% to the Governor since they figure the tip after taxes. So I actually tipped 23.5% on our meal. Goodwood Barbecue was one of the first restaurants I had in Meridian and it was a great experience! Parking was not an issue as it's situated in a large plaza, but it can get busy during peak hours. The service here is on top of their game. All of the staff were courteous, quick and friendly. We ordered the lunch special combo platter with Smoked Chicken and Pulled Pork as well as the Burnt Ends Brisket with Mike's Baked Mac & Cheese. Our personal favorite was the Burnt Ends Brisket -- so flavorful and tender! We also loved the barbecue sauce itself here. The bbq was genuinely not good. The burnt ends had some sweet bbq flavor, the beef ribs were tough and flavorless.

Brisket was juicy, tender, and the fries were huge. I like the bbq sauce, it was really delicious. Not much else to say. Not too much smoke flavor on the brisket, so I think that could be better, but overall for the amount of food you get, it's reasonably fair priced. read more

My daughter was hungry and decided to get BBQ. We were warmly greeted. We opted for takeout. We ordered their onion rings, the salmon entree, and a stack of beef ribs. The order took about 20 minutes to complete. The onion rings were humongous. They were nicely seasoned and crispy, but a little too greasy for our liking. Pick up order. I ordered the brisket, turkey, sausage, pulled pork which I did not get and ribs. This has to be the worst BBQ I have ever had in my life. All of there meats were dry especially there brisket. I have had beef jerky that was better than the brisket. All of the meats tasted as if it was reheated in the microwave. Another thing is I ordered a pound of pulled pork which they forgot to give me and when I called they weren't able to give me a refund due to paying in cash. So they are sending me BBQ bucks which I will give to a homeless person on the street rather than going there again! read more

Ideally this would be a 3.5 star review, as there were both pros and cons to the experience. The hostess was great, personable and fun. Really set the tone for a good experience. Our server, Maddie, was pleasant and efficient, but not overly friendly. I'll chalk that up to short-staffing in the industry as of late. Food was decent, if not spectacular. I was excited when I saw the Burnt Ends Sandwich though I was sure that it would be all gone for the day when I ordered, but it wasn't! It was okay, nothing that would make me throw down my fork and declare Boise the new barbecue capital of the nation or anything. The sauce on the meat was quite good, a sweet and smoky flavor that I really enjoyed and helped elevate the food. However, the mac and cheese was fantastic. We decided to go all out and get the brownie sundae. While good, the brownie was incredibly difficult to cut into. We suspected that they are frozen and then heated. Just arrived in from California where I cook bbq every week so expectations were high. The beef, St. Louis and baby back ribs did not disappoint. Smoke over real wood you can see stacked in back, these ribs had a nice mild smokey flavor. The beef ribs were seasoned well, more of a salty slight sweet flavor, moist, tender, clean pull off the bone. Same for the pork ribs which had a slight sweet heat sauce to them with no over saucing. Sauce was tacky yet soft but not runny. 4.5 stars For the sides, they fell flat except for the smash potato which was loaded. The coleslaw was bland, definitely needs vinegar, sugar, salt and a few other additions. The Mac n Cheese was also plain vanilla MNC and it needs something else to make it more flavorful. Salt, Jalepeño, or anything to elevate it to a great mac n cheese. The creamed corn was more corn with potatoes in a more liquidy sauce. Cream corn is something I make much thicker, heavy cream and and some great seasonings. 2.5 stars Service was outstanding from Cayleigh which elevates the average to 4 stars. The first time in, the service was good. We did have a house full. It wasn't too busy for being St. Patrick's day. The atmosphere was low, calm quite for a Friday night. The server was very patient and attentive with us and the children, too. Food well, my husband was pleased with the ribs. He really enjoyed them and the mashed potatoes he said they were really good.The kids loved their chicken strips and mac and cheese. The teenagers one had the salmon fillet she enjoyed and said it was delicious the other one had the burger she really liked it. The oldest one had the tenders she also liked them. I had the house ribeye, and I was not too happy with it. It had too much fat and not sure of the rub or spices they used but it had more of sweet flavor I couldn't eat it, but the veggies where great as well as the bake potato I eat them. I'm not sure if I would order the ribeye ever again there. I tried one of the ribs, and the barbecue was delicious. It had a great taste, but in my point of view and taste their was hardly any meat in the ribs. I took 3 ribs that were left for my nephew he called me to tell me that them ribs had NO MEAT! I can't say that I don't agree because I do agree with him. The drinks I had I do love. I truly enjoyed the huckleberry mule best choice I made tonight. I also like the fact that gratuity is added to parties who are more than 8 people. We had 8 people total I don't think the server mentioned that to my husband because he was asking me about how much tip to leave her than he let me see the ticket which she got just as much as I previously told my husband to leave. Came here tonight with my wife, oldest daughter and son in law tonight...I would rate this right down the middle it wasn't awesome and it wasn't bad. The food just tasted mass produced but still had great smoke flavor. My wife had the prime rib and she loved it but my beef ribs fell a little short. While they had good smoke flavor they were over done. I will add that I am a bbq snob so my expectations are a little high. Now the service was 5 star and our server Bailey was absolutely amazing!
