Fantastic!!!! Hardworking, professional, timely. Kept me up to date the day before and day of move. I only wish I would have hired this company for my first move. They moved me out of two storage units into a four-bedroom home in three hours for a fair and actual quoted price. My first moving company was a joke and took two days and many trips to move me into storage and ended up costing my twice the price of Ampol. They sent 9 guys and 4 trucks. Exactly what the job needed. They handle everything with care. Their trucks are equipped for ladders, wall paintings, loose items, etc. They had ramps set up from each truck and one into the house. They were pulling an empty truck out of my driveway as they backed in the next one to unload. All hustle, all professional. They put every box and item in the correct room. Just used Ampol for my move yesterday and everything went so smoothly. The movers showed up ten minutes early and got right down to business. We have lots of furniture with glass and they took such care wrapping and making sure every item was protected. We were looking for a moving company and came across Ampol here on Yelp. After reading so many positive reviews, we decided to give them a try. Everything that everyone else has said about how great they is is correct. I sent a quote request on a Saturday afternoon & by that evening had the quote and move booked. We were having items moved from the one apartment to another, more items removed from the 2nd place, and finally the remainder placed in a storage unit. No issues whatsoever. Moving day the guys 1st job got done early so they called and asked if we would like to start sooner. They didn't pressure us at all or make us feel rushed but I really appreciate that we did get to start early. They arrived promptly, took stock of the job, and immediately got stated. Fast, efficient, and no hassle. Honestly can I tell you how much we love these guys. Job was completed in just about 3 hours; we were expecting 4. Ampol movers were super easy to deal with. They gave me a quote over the phone and confirmed with me the day before my move. The two movers showed up early and got started right away wrapping everything in stretch wrap. They worked around the schedule of my condo's elevators with no problem, and were done a lot faster than I thought they'd be. When we arrived at our destination, I saw that everything on the truck was also covered with moving mats and secured to the sides of the truck. Nothing was even scratched let alone damaged. This was the first time I hired a professional moving company, and I have to agree with most of the other reviewers here in that Ampol Moving definitely deserves 5 stars! I seem to move to a new apartment property every year, and this year, I knew that I needed movers because let's be honest: who really has the time to move their own stuff after all of that packing? Between working a full-time job, teaching, and being a student, I definitely do NOT have the time or the resources to move everything on my own, so I turned to Ampol, and boy did they exceed my expectations! I moved from a first floor 2-bedroom apartment in the DeKalb/Sycamore, IL area to a first floor 1-bedroom apartment in Naperville, IL. As many others have noted, Ampol does have one of the lowest advertised moving rates (starting at $65/hour), but they do customize the pricing based on your location and other factors. For my 47-mile one-way move, I was quoted somewhere a little under $450 for about 2-3 hours of moving (including the travel fee). Ampol does shrink-wrap furniture and also wraps more valuable items (like my flat-screen television) with heavy-duty blankets for extra protection at no extra cost. In my situation, I had two very courteous and professional men clad in Ampol t-shirts move my large items (sofa, television, dining table, etc.) to my new residence in Naperville. The entire move took about 2.5 hours and they arrived right on time to start and finish the job quickly. The men took great care with handling my items and even asked if I wouldn't mind taking off one of the legs of my dining table since it wouldn't fit through the door of my new apartment. I provided the men with some Gatorade and a nice tip in the end to reward them for a job well done. If anyone out there is looking for a great, honest, professional, and local mover, give Ampol a call. I highly recommend them! Tip: I would try to pay with a personal check or cash, since there is a 2-2.5% convenience fee if you pay for their services with a credit card. Also note that you do not have to pay Ampol until the very end of the move. read more

We used Ampol Moving to move locally during THE COLDEST DAY on record! They sent 4 strong men to brave the cold and move our house in record time. I am very happy with my move experience. I hired Ampol for labor only, to load a truck that I was driving for my out of state move. One of my movers didn't wear a mask, despite confirming via email the night before that they would be wearing them, and I had to provide one for him but, aside from that, I was very pleased with the work that Marcin and crew provided for my move. They were extremely careful with my furniture, wrapped everything, and were patient with me as I figured out how I wanted everything positioned in the new house. My new home has a lot of stairs and I know it wasn't easy for them to unload everything but they were polite and efficient the entire time. I was a little skeptical at first, to use a moving company that was not referred to us by family or friends. Our selection was made strictly by Yelp reviews. My husband is very critical and super fussy so when I can home and asked how the move went you can imagine my delight when he said there isn't one thing more they could have done to make the move go smoothly! They were on time, had plenty of help and wrapped and wrapped again the furniture so that...his words..." that furniture wouldn't have been damaged if that truck was in an earth quake". We were especially concerned about the baby grand piano. Hubby said it was a piece of cake for them. THE BEST. QUICK AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. I had a bunch of referrals from friends that I reached out to, and only one contacted me back and was booked (week before end of month) I decided to try this yelp quote feature and Marcin reached back to me within minutes of me posting a request with a quote and detailed description of the service his company provides. I had other companies respond shortly after that and with cheaper prices, however they were asking me for more detailed information and have someone comeout. I dont have time for that. I needed someone that knew what they were doing with the information I provided. I had already given how many boxes were packed, old address, new address , which floor ,elevators and dates. What more do you need ? So of course I decided to respond back to Marcin. He was straight to the point and transparent. Everything was done thru our Yelp messaging and I didnt even need to call. It was a quick 10-15 minute back and forth exchange and appt was booked. Marcin reached out to me the day before to confirm the appt and make sure there were no changes. His crew of 2 showed up at 845 in the morning ready to get moving. They came inside, looked at everything to decide how and what to move first for like 5 minutes and got started right away. These guys worked their asses off. Did not try to milk the clock which I feared the other "cheap" companies would try to do due to their very low rates. You get what you pay for. I got speedy quality service from Ampol. The crew had my whole apartment packed up within an hour and half. Took longer for unload because we were moving from a 1st floor apt to a 5th floor apt needing elevator service, so I expected the unload to take a bit longer. All in all it took 4.5 hours for something I knew would have taken all day with friends and family (which is what i do normally) . I'm glad my first experience using a moving company was with Ampol . None of my items were damaged, all in the same condition as it was wrapped. The crew was so nice and positive throughout the whole time. I highly recommend Ampol if you need someone to get the job done right and quickly. I have nothing negative to say about my experience. Ampol moving did an amazing job helping move furniture from one house to another. They showed up on time and were very friendly and got to work right away. They had a huge truck and two guys to help move everything, which only took a few hours. I figured it would have took at least the whole day to move everything, but they were super fast and efficient, but careful to wrap all expensive and fragile items. The price was also a hell of a lot more reasonable then two men and a truck, which had quoted us hundreds of $$$ more than Ampol moving.
