The interior is so warm, fresh, welcoming and reminds us of being in Italy. It was a very popular place among locals. The waiter was from Sicily and gave us amazing recommendations on their daily specials. He was friendly, helpful and service was exceptional. The restaurant serves beer and wine. Of course we stared with an Aperol spritz. Crafted by the bartender expertly. Yum! The food was outstanding with homemade pasta, hand created sauces, and much more. I came here with my friends during Easter and had a very positive experience here. The restaurant was still very new during our visit, but they operated smoothly. The pastas and flat breads were all delish. The bread was incredible. I ordered the Pappardelle Ragu and absolutely loved it! Experienced an excellent meal here, enjoying two of my favorite italian dishes. The location is a bit odd but there's parking and the picturesque interior makes up for the nondescript exterior. Food: The baked eggplant appetizer (INVOLTINI DI MELANZANE) came fresh out the oven literally still bubbling (!) and was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The seasoned complimentary bread for the table works great to sop up any extra tomato sauce and I recommend getting the side of garlic bread to accompany any pasta entrees. The Spicy Rigatoni sauce was lush and silky on fresh al dente pasta that somehow stayed hot in its serving dish throughout dinner. Our service was great and the space is beautiful. Excellent return experience. Nino is a super server... And remembered me from the last time I came, and even what I ordered! My Hugo spritz was delicious. Music on the patio was a little too loud at first but then they adjusted it for us. The complementary bread comes with oregano sprinkled, so I need to remember for the next time to ask for it without it. (Love olive oil, don't like oregano). My sweetie enjoyed the classic bruschetta and then a grilled steak dish. I got the pistachio pasta which I got last time. It is delicious and not something you can get everywhere. Nino and everyone else was super nice. Keep in mind that on busy days, they get super busy. We came the night before Mother's Day, and they said they had 100 reservations for lunch and 100 for dinner for the next day! But tonight it was super chill and not as crowded as the last time we came on a Saturday night. We ordered cannoli for dessert for my sweetie's birthday, and it was very nice to see on the check that they comped it. Very delicious cannoli, with good quality chocolate chips. The only thing is that you would ask for it next time without raspberry sauce. It might look pretty, but it tastes more delicious just with vanilla, the chips and the shell. I came here for a small gathering with a group fur easter lunch. Parking is ready and the weren't too packed. First thing I noticed was how adorable the decor is inside. It's decorated to make you feel like you are in a restaurant in Italy. Lots of cute photo ops and beautiful painted walls. Some of the ladies had a great time taking photos. The restaurant had their regular menu and a special pre fixe menu. I decided to order the pre fixe and got the eggplant burrata - this was served foood and it just wasn't what i expected. I didn't really finish it. I also ordered the lobster ravioli which looked like a small portion but was surprisingly filling. It also had a great flavor, not too fishy. The sauce is a cream sauce with fresh tomates. For dessert I chose the cannoli, since it's a classic Italian dessert. It was very good, and creamy, and had chocolate drizzled on it with chocolate chips. Definitely a solid end up my meal. The service was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to help explain things, check on us, and even take pictures of our group. My party of three came on a Wednesday night at 6 PM. We had a reservation but didn't need it since the restaurant wasn't entirely full. Parking is no problem, this restaurant is located on the exit of Mercy Rd by the Chevron gas station. Service is friendly, albeit a bit slow at times. We decided to eat here since my friend had come here previously with a larger party and reccomeneded it. I was also surprised to hear an Italian resturant open up in Mira Mesa. The food however, was subpar. My ratings are below: Antipasti Zuppa di cozze e vongole - Mussels, clams, spicy tomato sauce: (1/5) The shell fish is frozen, not fresh. It has a strong seafood flavor that isn't the fresh brine you typically get. Both mussels and clams were overcooked and chewy. The bread it came with was too doughy. Carpaccio di manzo - Tenderlion carpaccio with arugala salad (1/5): Just slightly thick beef slices with a hard wedge of lemon and a sprinkle of argula. Pasta Pappardelle Ragu (4/5): This was the best dish of the night. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the ragu was nice and beefy. Docked one point because it needed more salt. Asiago Gnocchi - Gnocchi stuffed with asiago cheese in a creamy pesto sauce (3/5): A heavy and oily dish. We added sausage to the dish as our protein. It was just ok. This is a fairly new Italian restaurant in our area, having opened about three months ago. I understand it has a sister restaurant in La Mesa. We've enjoyed lunch here, and we came last Sunday for their Grand Opening party. The food here is quite good, authentic Sicilian/Southern Italian. The Lunch Menu has a favorite dish of mine on it -- Uova in Purgatorio (Eggs in Purgatory). This dish consists of three poached eggs in a spicy marinara sauce with melted mozzarella and green onions, served with grilled bread. (4/5 $18) They have a wine and beer license, but no liquor. So ... cocktails are made with wine-based substitutions for any liquor. Their selection of wines by the glass is nice, and the complete wine list is respectable. The dining room is decorated in blue, white and lemons. There's a small covered patio for outdoor dining, albeit with parking lot views. Service has been very good. Of course, the place was mobbed thanks to complimentary bites, I guess, so the food didn't last long, but the full regular menu was available which one could order as usual at regular prices. Ratings: Meatballs--3 Bruschetta--3 Arrancini--4 HEADS UP: I had ordered a bellini, which looked and tasted odd. When I asked my server about this, he explained that they don't have their liquor license yet, so they make their cocktails with wine based "liqueurs". The cocktail menu doesn't mention this. Keep it in mind when considering a cocktail. Amuri has some dishes that are very nicely prepared and a very nice wine list. Decided to stop by this place for dinner with friends. A great option for something more north and not in a busy city area. Plenty of parking and easy to find. The food was great, came in a timely manner. What really impressed me was the service. The servers were very attentive and made sure we were served properly. I went for a dinner to celebrate my friend who is becoming a bride. We had a great time. They were kind enough to give us a tiramisu on the house. Had a great dinner on the outside deck! We started with the arancini and artichoke--both were excellent. The arancini are easy to share if you cut them up (pretty big saffron rice balls). For my main, I had the spicy vodka rigatoni with chicken. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce definitely brought the promised kick. Perhaps they could have added a bit more chicken to the dish. The one knock was the complimentary toasted sourdough served before the meal; it was lightly pre-dipped in oil but lacked flavor. Started with the arancini it was delicious, tender and cheesy also it was made with beef ragu which i haven't seen elsewhere. The outside was crispy and nicely fried. I just wish they had given a serving spoon to scoop up all the sauce. For my entree I got the Linguine Vongole, clams in olive oil, garlic and white wine. When they brought it to the table they shaved some Parmesan cheese on top. I know they say not to mix seafood and cheese but I think it needs the cheese to thicken the sauce and adds a lot of flavor. The flavor was perfect the clam and garlic came thru. The serving size was generous, the noodles were a little past Al dente maybe because they were cooked in the sauce after, not mushy by any means; Still it was a perfect dish. They do offer pasta tossed in a cheese wheel which is made in a display area. The type of pasta changes so you'll have to ask the server about it. Service was friendly and we were offered a choice of water and given bread as we were sat. I much rather go here than fight the chaos that is little Italy. There has been a lot of chatter about this new Italian restaurant where Pernicano's used to be so we went here for dinner on a Sunday night to check it out. They've done a great job with the decor. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away. Orders were taken but the food did take awhile to come out. I'm glad they gave us delicious complimentary bread. The artichoke appetizer dish had way too much lemon and that was all I could taste. Very sour and salty so it was a disappointment and I wouldn't recommend. Amuri Italian Cuisine is located in a less busy area of Mira Mesa as it's behind a fuel station in the Canyonhill Center. My friend and I recently visited for dinner after hearing positive feedback about this locally owned small business. Parking was plentiful as the plaza did not have a heavy traffic volume. The inside of the suite was spacious with a seating capacity of probably around 80, including the central bar that had seven spots. A couple of parmesan cheese wheels were on display at a counter near the kitchen. We didn't order any pasta made from the wheel although it looked enticing. The one-page menu sheet featured Sicilian food with the typical categories that you will find at an Italian restaurant. A basket containing complimentary pieces of bread doused with olive oil was provided while we decided on what to order. The two of us split the Arancine as an appetizer. Three deep fried saffron rice balls filled with beef ragu rested on a base of tomato sauce. The size was slightly larger than a golf ball with a thick crust. We also shared a Brasato which was braised short ribs served with polenta and glaze sauce. I liked that polenta was used as the carb instead of mashed or whipped potatoes that you normally see elsewhere. The boneless cut of meat was tender and flavorful. Each of us also selected a pasta dish to round out our meal. I chose the Pappardelle Ragu which used slow cooked beef for the hearty sauce. The wide noodles were cooked just right. A little larger portion for the $25 cost would have been perfect. The waiter provided consistent attention and service to our table. For the price and quality of the food we tried at Amuri, I gave our dinner a four star rating. read more

Mixed dinner experience at Amuri. Odd location right behind a gas station, but once inside the layout is spacious and exudes coastal Italian charm. Service was OK. On to the food. The free bread was quite bland. The arancine was well cooked and had a good texture but was also underseasoned and had less meat inside than expected. I ordered the parmigiano cheese wheel pasta, and was invited to step up to the Say Cheese window and watch the show. The chef's choice pasta that night was gnocchi, which I usually don't like, but I took a chance to try cheese wheel for the first time. The sauce was very flavorful and sumptuous, but I confirmed for good that gnocchi texture is not my thing - no fault of Amuri's, but I would have preferred the option to choose my own pasta type to go in the wheel. Fiancé got the linguini which, unfortunately, was the blandest item of all. I tried it too and couldn't believe how muted the flavors were, even with the seafood components. I don't think they add salt when boiling the pasta, and doesn't combine with the linguine sauce, which is so plain and has no taste of white wine or clam. Amuri has recently opened its doors in the Mira Mesa - Scripps Ranch Area. They are the sister restaurant of the very successful Aromi Italian Cuisine in La Mesa, Ca. I stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed several menu items. To start, I had the Sicilian Classic, the Arancine filled with tender saffron rice and a delicious beef ragù. Next, came the Insalata or Amuri House Salad with fennel and mixed greens, then the Involtini di Melanzane i.e., stuffed eggplants, and finally the Ravioli di Pesce. I was very pleased with all the items I had. The salad with the orange and honey vinaigrette was light and flavorful and paired very well with the fennel, mixed greens and walnuts. The classic Arancine were fantastic. I do recommend them. The beef ragù inside was delicious but what really made this Arancine shine, was the perfect fried crispiness and the red sauce they came plated with. They were the perfect match. The stuffed egg plant was simply wonderful. The egg plant was very well prepared and came stuffed with fluffy ricotta cheese and baked with tasty tomato sauce and mozzarella. This is a great lunch item or perfect sharing. The Ravioli di Pesce came stuffed with crab meat & shrimp served with a white cream sauce topped with cherry tomatoes and sauteed pieces of salmon. I really try to avoid writing low star reviews as I understand the challenges of running a restaurant but hope they can take this feedback as they continue to ramp up as a new restaurant and improve! The first thing I noticed when walking in was a slightly unpleasant smell that I couldn't quite put my finger on where it was coming from. The hostess was kind and showed us our table quickly and was greeted kindly by our server. We ordered the crispy burratta, mushroom agnolotti, and the Amuri pinse. The burratta was nice and crispy but ultimately tasted like a slightly fancier version of a mozzarella stick. Since it was a thick burratta, the middle of it was cold so it would have been nice if the marinara sauce was warm but it was served around room temp. This dish was $17. The Amuri pinse has a nice crispy bottom but had a chewy "stick to your teeth" texture which was a bit odd. The prosciutto on it was more like a salty ham -- the cut was thick and there was not the iconic cuts of fat on the meat. The peaches ended up feeling a bit out of place on the dish. This dish was $21. The mushroom Agnolotti was probably the biggest disappointment. For $29, we received 5 pieces. Unfortunately, the edges of it were also undercooked; the pale whites of uncooked dough showed through each bite. Overall, we had a relatively disappointing experience and at a total of $80 and not feeling full, at the current state, is not somewhere we would return nor can recommend to others. read more

Such a beautiful space. I'm glad this Italian restaurant is closer here in North County since Little Italy is so far! The decor is light with blue and white and lemons everywhere. As soon as you walk in the door, you can smell roasted garlic. We shared the Pomodoro bruschetta which had fresh tomato, basil, garlic, and extra-virgin olive oil. I split the carbonara pasta and they brought it out already separated into two dishes, which is such a nice touch. The pasta tasted fresh and handmade. My father-in-law had the meat lovers pinsa which I didn't realize is a lighter crispier Roman style of pizza. Really great portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and checked in often. I went with my mom and sister. I had the pistacchiosa and it was amazing. My mom had a pasta from their special from the cheese wheel of the day that had spicy sausage and mushroom with a creamy sauce and my sister had their ravioli di pesce. Their bread was perfectly toasted with light oil and herbs. My sister also had their espresso martini which was yummy. We shared the tiramisu. It was delicious and the preparation of it at the table was fun to watch. The service was really good. Our waitress and waiters were sweet and thoughtful. read more

We tried this new place with my parents in law, and my mother in law has Italian blood! They were so happy about this meal and said probably is one of the best they tried in these couple of years. We had a cheese wheel Gnocchi, it is wow, so flavorful, the gnocchi cooked perfectly. We also had a cacio e Pepe, which is a little different than we had in other places, which was more creamy. We loved it. Other than that, we had a carpaccio, a blue cheese salad, meatball and complimentary breads. All of those are good, we don't have any negative feedback about here's food. The service was not bad either. We tried a bottle of wine (Chianti) and Sicilian spritz, my hubby and I ended to order one more spritz for each one and parent ordered more wine... it was so delicious.
