This is probably the worst pasta I have ever had. I don't think they add salt when boiling the pasta, and doesn't combine with the linguine sauce, which is so plain and has no taste of white wine or clam. Clams are probably frozen not fresh, most of them are shrunk to tiny pieces and fell off the shell. Wondering if the chef even sample it before serving to the table.... The two remaining stars are only for the decor/ambiance and the service. read more

I was excited to try Amuri because I have heard some great things about it. And it is very close to home. The decor was very Sicilian. The food was exceptional (except for the cold bread). The burrata was excellent. The Pappardelle Ragu was cooked to perfection. It came out piping hot and al dente just how I like my pasta. The other party in my group ordered the pasta wheel. You would think that the servers would call them over to watch the pasta going into the cheese wheel, but they didn't. They didn't even offer us parm for our main dishes. The restaurant was not even that busy. Not even 1/4 of the tables were occupied. The highlight was the table side tiramisu made to order. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and inviting. I was SO excited to finally try this place after hearing amazing things from friends in the area and it totally lived up to the hype. Our server, Jessica, was fantastic and gave us great recommendations. We started with the arancini, mussels and clams, and the Amuri bruschetta, and every dish was delicious. For our mains, we ordered the pasta special with pappardelle, meatballs, short rib, and sausage packed with flavor and the short rib dinner, which was absolutely spot on. The Cioppino was absolutely delicious very flavorful. They also have an excellent Italian wine selection. We had the Brunello di Montalcino, and it paired perfectly with everything. Decided to stop by this place for dinner with friends. A great option for something more north and not in a busy city area. Plenty of parking and easy to find. The food was great, came in a timely manner. What really impressed me was the service. The servers were very attentive and made sure we were served properly. I went for a dinner to celebrate my friend who is becoming a bride. We had a great time. They were kind enough to give us a tiramisu on the house. There was plenty of seating inside and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I am definitely coming back here. The cheese wheel pasta was a hit, and the table made tiramisu was delicious. Amuri has recently opened its doors in the Mira Mesa - Scripps Ranch Area. They are the sister restaurant of the very successful Aromi Italian Cuisine in La Mesa, Ca. I stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed several menu items. To start, I had the Sicilian Classic, the Arancine filled with tender saffron rice and a delicious beef ragù. Next, came the Insalata or Amuri House Salad with fennel and mixed greens, then the Involtini di Melanzane i.e., stuffed eggplants, and finally the Ravioli di Pesce. I was very pleased with all the items I had. The salad with the orange and honey vinaigrette was light and flavorful and paired very well with the fennel, mixed greens and walnuts. The classic Arancine were fantastic. I do recommend them. The beef ragù inside was delicious but what really made this Arancine shine, was the perfect fried crispiness and the red sauce they came plated with. They were the perfect match. The stuffed egg plant was simply wonderful. The egg plant was very well prepared and came stuffed with fluffy ricotta cheese and baked with tasty tomato sauce and mozzarella. This is a great lunch item or perfect sharing. The Ravioli di Pesce came stuffed with crab meat & shrimp served with a white cream sauce topped with cherry tomatoes and sauteed pieces of salmon. It was a very delicious dish. I ate out on the patio. The service was attentive and friendly. The inside is trendy yet it preserves that old school Italian perception. I really try to avoid writing low star reviews as I understand the challenges of running a restaurant but hope they can take this feedback as they continue to ramp up as a new restaurant and improve! The first thing I noticed when walking in was a slightly unpleasant smell that I couldn't quite put my finger on where it was coming from. The hostess was kind and showed us our table quickly and was greeted kindly by our server. We ordered the crispy burratta, mushroom agnolotti, and the Amuri pinse. The burratta was nice and crispy but ultimately tasted like a slightly fancier version of a mozzarella stick. Since it was a thick burratta, the middle of it was cold so it would have been nice if the marinara sauce was warm but it was served around room temp. This dish was $17. The Amuri pinse has a nice crispy bottom but had a chewy "stick to your teeth" texture which was a bit odd. The prosciutto on it was more like a salty ham -- the cut was thick and there was not the iconic cuts of fat on the meat. The peaches ended up feeling a bit out of place on the dish. This dish was $21. The mushroom Agnolotti was probably the biggest disappointment. For $29, we received 5 pieces. Unfortunately, the edges of it were also undercooked; the pale whites of uncooked dough showed through each bite. Overall, we had a relatively disappointing experience and at a total of $80 and not feeling full, at the current state, is not somewhere we would return nor can recommend to others. read more

The first time I went with two guests I received the wrong meal and waited almost 20 minutes for it while the rest of the table ate theirs before theirs got cold. The second time with four of us the salad was delivered dry, no sauce. Again three dinners were delivered but not mine. Repeatedly, asked where it was before finally being delivered, even though the same dish was delivered to two nearby tables that had ordered after us. Not likely we will eat here again. Such a beautiful space. I'm glad this Italian restaurant is closer here in North County since Little Italy is so far! The decor is light with blue and white and lemons everywhere. As soon as you walk in the door, you can smell roasted garlic. We shared the Pomodoro bruschetta which had fresh tomato, basil, garlic, and extra-virgin olive oil. I split the carbonara pasta and they brought it out already separated into two dishes, which is such a nice touch. The pasta tasted fresh and handmade. My father-in-law had the meat lovers pinsa which I didn't realize is a lighter crispier Roman style of pizza. Really great portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and checked in often. This place is amazing! The food blew me away. The Caprese salad tasted SO fresh. The bread for the table was spiced beautifully. I could tell the rigatoni alla vodka was handmade. Our server was polite, helpful, and gave great recommendations for drinks and food. The wine was delicious, and so was the bread they provided. We ordered the arancine as an appetizer and I forgot to take a picture because they were so good that we finished them immediately. We also ordered the Amuri pizza because it looked unique with burrata, peaches, and prosciutto. While not your typical pizza, we thought the flavors were very complementary. We tried this new place with my parents in law, and my mother in law has Italian blood! They were so happy about this meal and said probably is one of the best they tried in these couple of years. We had a cheese wheel Gnocchi, it is wow, so flavorful, the gnocchi cooked perfectly. We also had a cacio e Pepe, which is a little different than we had in other places, which was more creamy. We loved it. Other than that, we had a carpaccio, a blue cheese salad, meatball and complimentary breads. All of those are good, we don't have any negative feedback about here's food. The service was not bad either. We tried a bottle of wine (Chianti) and Sicilian spritz, my hubby and I ended to order one more spritz for each one and parent ordered more wine... it was so delicious. Different from what we had in Rome as it's grilled and just the artichoke heart, but this dish was light and bright, perfect for a warm evening and heavy entrees. Cioppino - Fantastic! Broth was flavorful, dish had a LOT of seafood. Worth the price. Cheese wheel - was mushroom and sausage and I picked the parm wheel. Was good, noodles cooked perfectly but overall the dish didn't wow me. Cacio e Pepe - loved! Different, in that it is very creamy, but I like saucy! Carbonara - good but on the salty side. Maybe an off night. Will prob try again to confirm. Disclaimer: I'm not THAT much of a bigback, I just like to sample everyone's orders lol. Wow, what a lovely find. We were going from San Diego to Escondido and rather hungry, yelped for something. While I wanted pizza, I was intrigued by the date night advertised on their website (I clicked it in search of a pizza menu). New Italian restaurant in the Mira Mesa area. We loved the interior of the place, very welcoming and scenic. Well decorated. Now for the food. Our group of 6 all had mixed opinions about the food we ordered. We got the arancini and calamari for appetizers. The arancini was crunchy in the middle, our whole table thought the rice was undercooked inside because we're used to a softer texture. Not sure if this is just their style of making arancini but this was our experience. The calamari we ordered was overcooked, every price was cooked to a crisp like eating calamari chips versus the crunchy outside and chewy inside texture we were expecting. For our pastas, while the sauces were on point. Many on our table felt like their pasta noodles were TOO al dente to the point of being undercooked. I had ordered the cheese wheel pasta and was told there were two cheeses you could pick from. When the server came around to take our orders, I had forgotten about the two cheeses option and I guess they just picked the Parmesan one for me. I was also not told they were making it and almost missed out on the experience of seeing the noodles being made in the cheese wheel through their glass demonstration area. I felt like a lot of this experience could have been far better executed. The peach and prosciutto pizza was probably the group favorite. We felt like our visit here had a lot of misses. We've been to many Italian restaurants before and the quality here was just all over the place. We are likely not coming back. read more

Authentic Italian food has finally come to North County! Nino and the rest of the staff were beyond incredible. We had a very large party for a birthday in our family and everyone enjoyed themselves. The menu has plentiful vegetarian options which was important for many in our group. The food was excellent as was the ambiance and service. They also make my favorite drink (a Hugo spritz) to absolute perfection! Everything at Amuri was spot on. The sauces, pastas, and salads, everything was fabulous and seasoned to perfection. Do not skip the grilled marinated artichoke hearts, they are divine. Yanni's has some hard hitting competition in town with this establishment. Most businesses always start out strong with good portions and good prices, so let's see how these guys do. Let's start with first impression when I walked in. It was super inviting and love the decor. We didn't sit outside since it was chilly. Service to our table was quick with choice of what kind of water. We went with "still". We had pizza and pasta and both were super good. Of course we had to try there "table side tiramisu". That was fun and a quick entertainment. YES, it was yummy! Wonderful small Italian restaurant with great service and authentic cheese wheel pasta. You could tell the spaghetti was made in house, and was very filling for the portion size. I randomly came across this new italian restaurant and I am so glad I did. Quaint little gem tucked away in a small plaza so it can get overlooked so don't miss it. I ordered the artichoke appetizer and the carbonara. Both were delicious. The artichoke heart was grilled and had a flavorful lemon garlic sauce that paired so well with it. The carbonara was not your typical carbonara. It was made with rigatoni and a decadent carbonara sauce. Had Kevin and Raymond helping me and they were nothing but the best.
